Display LCD Screen to protect eyes.

Are there any 15" screen for macbook pro lcd screen? to proect the screen as well as the eye from glare etc..

The software called Brightness Control can act as one when the display settings do not have sufficient gradient for certain sensitivities of eyesight.

  • Qosmio X305 screen not displaying like my desktops LCD screen

My screen seems to be displaying dull images.
I'm kinda concerened, because it's an LCD screen, and its not displaying like my desktops LCD screen.
I put the brightness up, and that helped to see the images better, but they still are not of the quality they should be.
Is there a way to fix this? Or is that just how it is?

Many Desktop LCD Monitors can get very bright, much brighter than most notebooks. So it may just be how it is. Perhaps you could go to the shops and compare it to other X300's on display.
Try resetting or modifying the Contrast/Colour/Brightness settings in the nVidia control panel.

  • T410 display replacable with T400 LCD screen?

My friend recently had a T400 that broke, and he took apart the computer for the sake of doing so.
He knew that I had a T410, and was wondering if I might want some of the parts. I knew that my screen was probably th biggest bottleneck I could upgrade for my computer, and immediately went for his screen. The screen was a LP141WP2. After some research, I've found that it is a LCD screen, just like my thinkpad t410. However, when I searched it up, I've found that it only put into T400. So, I was just wondering if anyone had any knowledge about this matter. I don't want to go tearing up my beloved T410 if it isn't going to be replaceable.
    Thanks!

This isn't a widespread defect AFAIK.

  • MacBoook lcd screen black/gray will not display

My MacBook LCD screen will not display.  It powers on but I cannot see anything on the screen.  What is happening?

You could try a pram reset, although I'm not sure it will do anything.
    To reset your computer’s PRAM:
    Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    Turn on the computer.
Immediately press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.Continue holding the keys down until the computer restarts, and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
    Release the keys.

  • What kind of LCD screen is the MBP display?

I have a 2007 Santa Rosa Macbook Pro. I'm curious what kind of LCD screen the display is. I know TN is the worst, and something like ISPS is better...

The screens in the MBP are provided by one of three manufacturers: Samsung, LG, and Chimei. Although there is a host of debate about which is the best between Samsung and LG, everyone agrees that Chimei screens are the worst.
The Samsung panels tend to be more "vivid" compared to the LG screens (although you'll only notice this difference if you compare the two side by side.) The LG screens tend to be less susceptible to "yellowing." If you get a good, defect-free Samsung panel you hit the jackpot. It's the best of the three.
To find out which one you have, go to System Preferences > Displays > Color > Open Color Profile and scroll down to line 13. Post the code next to "Manufacturer Code." (It should be something like 0000009c68.) Bring it back here and someone will be able to tell you what screen you have.
Of course, unrelated to the screen, the Santa Rosa MacBook Pro was the first to introduce LED backlighting.

  • How much time an LCD screen can stay on and displaying images?

Suppose I'm rendering on the new '27 iMac, how much time the LCD screen can stay on and displaying the same image? (Like the desktop, or a very slow progress bar).
And, if there is a difference, how much time it can stay simply on and showing differents images?
I have to use a screen saver? (but it consume some power to the rendering) If yes, after how much time? And what kind of screen saver, simply black screen or somethig animated?
I have to turn off the display only? (but this can conflict with some particular software...) If yes, after how much time?
    Thanks.

  • Can I disable the LCD screen from displaying the Network Name or Password of my device?

Can I disable the LCD screen from displaying the Network Name or Password of my device?  I feel that having this information readily available to any who can turn on my device is a security flaw.
I have change the network name and password and would like to secure that information .

Worked with VZW tech support and finally found where you can disable or mask  the display of the network name and password on the Jetpack LCD screen.  You need to access the admin screen of your jetpack (http://my.jetpack/) .  From there, navigate to Jetpack Settings --> Click on Wifi tab -- Click on the Wi-Fi Options link halfway down the page and it will show the two settings that control the display of network name and password.
As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words...here are screen shots showing how to get to these settings. ...
The LCD display will show ********* for the network name and password if the two checkboxes above are unchecked. I really think these settings should be disabled to be begin with.
Oh well...posting here to share with those interested...

  • LCD Screen Protection

    Greetings,
I don't have an Apple screen, it's actually a Dell 20-inch that I use with my Apple, but I thought since my question is generic I could ask it here. My question is: how easy is it to damage an LCD screen. I was using it the other night and my friend tried to point something out on itunes and accidentally touched the screen. Could this have damaged it? I don't see any dead or stuck pixels, but I'm worried now as this is the nicest screen I've owned. Thanks.

LCDs are surprisingly durable but nothing like the old glass CRTs of yesterday. They can be scratched with hard pointy things like pens, but touching them with fingers will cause nothing more than finger prints that you can wipe away. I wouldn't worry.

  • Which LCD screen do I need for replacement?

Hi, I'm looking to switch out my damaged LCD screen for my BB Curve 8530.
I've had a look at purchasing a replacement online, but have noticed there are 3 different kinds. How can I tell which one I need without opening the phone up first.
    004/005 or
    005/004 or
    007/111
Many thanks in advance for any help. Ive looked everywhere online, this is my last hope!

You will need to open up the device first to know which screen you'll need.

  • Rebel T5 will not show anything on LCD screen

I have a rebel T5 and nothing is coming up on the LCD screen. I press menu nothing, I take a picture nothing, and even try to review the pics there is nothing. I have cleaned the eye piece and still nothing. I am at a loss here. I love my camera and now I feel lost because not I know my setting are messed up! Please help!

    ebiggs1 wrote:
You know the camera is working otherwise?  If yes, than you likely did turn off the display but I can't remember how on a T5.
It is in your manual, however.
Usually you just press the "Info" button repeatedly.  Each time you press the button, it cycles through the next option for what the camera can display on the rear LCD.  One of the choices in the cycle is to display nothing at all (display stays dark.)
BUT... pressing the "Menu" button should always cause the display to light up as long as the camera is switched on.

  • Glossy Screen bad for eyes?

Well, I am planning to get a macbook pro very soon. And I know a friend who can get a small discount off it and I asked him for a macbook pro with glossy screen and he just emailed me saying that glossy screen is bad for your eyes in the long run due to the glare from it. He knows this because his wife works at a LCD company or something. Are they correct? Because I know glossy screen makes the color and images sharper.

Well, I'm no expert in the field of LCD screens. I prefer the matte screen for one reason alone: antiglare. I never know where I will be using the laptop, so I prefer a screen that will help block glare. The glossy screens artificially enhance the image, so any graphics work may be slightly off. I've noticed that this matte screen is a bit different from matte screens of the past. It seems to be more of a luster (cross between glossy and matte).
But, it truly is a matter of personal preference. Stop by an Apple Store and look at both. Some college campuses have their own versions of Apple Stores, if there is one near you, go to the bookstore and see if they have both on display.
    Good Luck!

Hello. I have a problem. I would like to use some of my programs on Desktop 1, and other on my Desktop 2 for example not just to put browser to LCD screen. Is that possile or am I asking for too much?

  • Lenovo U310 LCD Screen Backlight Won't Turn On.

I purchased a new U310 near the end of August this year, using it primarily to bring with me to school.  However, I've been having a problem with the LCD screen backlight.  Typically, when the computer starts up, the backlight will be working fine.  However, once the computer goes into powersave mode and shuts the display off, often the backlight to the display will not turn on again regardless of if I press keys or the touchpad.  These are some things I've noticed:
The display IS still on.  I can still very faintly make out the desktop and use the system, but the backlight is off completely
This issue does not happen all of the time, but is still quite frequent
Sometimes putting the computer to sleep and then waking it solves the problem, but not all of the time
Sometimes the backlight remains off even after a forced power off (holding down the power button), but typically a restart solves the problem and enables the backlight again
Adjusting screen brightness has no effect
This happens regardless of the battery level and whether or not the system is plugged in
Although this issue has seemed more prevalent recently, it even happened on the day I bought the laptop, but I just wasn't yet aware it was a reoccurring issue
I've been able to recreate this issue, in fact I was just able to make it happen twice in a row.  First time the display went off and didn't turn back on, I restarted.  This even repeated the next time the display went into powersave mode, so I restarted again.  The third time the display went into powersave mode, I was able to turn it on again simply by touching the touchpad (as it should be).
I think that about sums up what I know.  I apologize for making such a long post, but I'm thinking I can't be the only one with this issue.  I'm new to the community and couldn't find a similar post anywhere on the forums.  Since I infrequently use this system, and the issue has been there since I got it, I'm assuming it must be a driver problem.  If anyone has any insight or is experiencing similar problems, I'd be glad to hear!  I thought I'd post before contacting Lenovo directly.  Thanks!

I suggest you please uninstall the energy management software, reebot and install it again. You will find the setup of energy management in drivers folder in the drive named lenovo ( maybe E or D). Please give it a shot and post results.

  • IPod Nano LCD screen cracking/scratching

i am a possible, going to be nano buyer and i was wondering if anyone who is a owner has had problems with the screen cracking and/or scratching. Also this is a question for owners with the problem and APPLE if the screen gets cracked or overally scratched withing warranty will apple replace it with a new one? also for people in singapore is there anywhere that i can get a 4GB nano, as most places have said they dont have them. thank you
      Windows XP

The screen scratching issue is really going to depend on just how badly you treat the device. I don't know how the screens are getting so badly scratched, and in normal use I can't see anything other than normal wear and tear. My 3G iPod is the same - a few scuffs and scratches, but nothing to stop it working.
If on the other hand you place the nano into your pocket without a protective case, keep change and car keys in the same pocket, then yes, it WILL get scratched. If you drop it or drag it over rough surfaces, if you take a sharp implement to it, if you use abrasive cleaners on it... and probably loads of other 'ifs', you'll get scratches on it.
They are not indestructible and the LCD screen is not harder than diamond. Take care of your Nano and you should be fine.
Taking it back with scratches through normal wear and tear, or through poor care, will not get you a replacement. You would have to show that it was an actual fault with the Nano itself, and I get the distinct feeling most are fine
As for purchasing a 4GB model, have you tried the online Apple store?
