Display Locking Up

Just got my new MacbookPro 17in. I'm having problems when the energy saver kicks in and the screen starts to go dim, when I click any key to wake it back up the entire screen goes 90% black. Then after trying to get it to stop doing that the screen just locks up and I have to reboot. Any ideas much appreciated.

15" Retina Display Locking Up

My retina display locks up constantly now. It has 16gb of ram, 500gb SSD. I can view the file and run the time line but when I try to export the file is races the processor and eventually locks up. Is anyone else out there with Retina Display having the same problem? I have updated the Cuda drivers. This is Premiere Pro CC (2014) on Yosemite.
This is insane! I'm open to try options.

Have you tried running through through these?
- Sign out from Creative Cloud, restart Premiere Pro, then sign in
- Update any GPU drivers
- Trash preferences
- Ensure Adobe preference files are set to read/write
- Delete media cache
- Remove plug-ins
- If you have AMD GPUs, make sure CUDA is not installed
- Repair permissions
- In Sequence Settings > Video Previews, change the codec to one that matches your footage
- Disconnect any third party hardware
- If you have a CUDA GPU, ensure that the Mercury Playback Engine is set to CUDA, not OpenCL
- Disable App Nap
- Reboot

MBP Core Duo Checkerboard display lock-up

I am having a frequent issue with my MBP that I just received in January.
Right out of the box, the screen froze, and I had to force the machine off.
Now, I am getting a checkerboard display or complete display lock with any of these scenarios:
1. Cold-boot the MBP, locks up at the login screen. Need to restart again.
2. Awake the MBP after being asleep for 20 minutes or more.
My dealings with customer support have been frustrating. Their latest suggestion is for me to wipe the hard drive and reinstall the O/S. This seems like a "using ashotgun to swat a fly" approach.
I don't want to waste my time in reloading third-party apps, so before I try this, has anyone tried this approach and have it resolve their display issues?
From what I'm reading on the Net, the logic board is the suspect, but the support folks won't listen.

I have been having the same problem with my macbook for months now, i have tried everything.
I've called customer care....who frankly couldn't care less, so am taking it into the apple store today to have a apparent genius have a look.
To be honest, i wish i had just bought a normal windows based laptop as i dont need all this hassle.

Multiple monitors on laptop: iTunes crashes upon display lock

I have a laptop running XP Pro with an external monitor attached as an extended desktop. When I use iTunes (6.0.5.20) and lock my screen for any reason (close lid, screen saver activates, etc.), iTunes freezes and throws up an "Unsupported Display" window - or at least tries to: it appears in the taskbar but can't be viewed, opened, or closed. Only upon killing it (along with iTunes) can I continue to use my computer.
Anyone have a fix? I'm not the first to run into this; see for example:

I have a desktop with multiple monitors, and I have had the same sorts of problems. For me, iTunes 6 would display a dialog box that says "Unsupported Display" when I unlock the screens, though I was able to see it and dismiss it and life was good. Now, with iTunes 7, I can see that it tried to display an "Unsupported Display" dialog, but it crashed as well...

15" Macbook Pro with Retina Display Lock

Can someone recommend me a good solution for physically locking my 15" Macbook Pro with Retina Display? I'm going off to college soon and need to be able to tie the computer up to my desk.
I have a plastic case on my MBP and would definitely want to keep it on. Also I would like to have a solution where it's not going to be off-balnced on one side as I've seen with some products online. I have major OCD so I am looking for the most close to perfect option that doesn't take away from the beauty of the MBP or the physical functionality of the computer. Also, I am definitely not looking to screw anything to the MBP, to be clear.

External display locked in closed clamshell

When I plug in an external monitor and try to use closed clamshell, it looks like nothing is working. I opened up word to test my keyboard and it didn't show that I typed anything, until I opened my mac back up and what I typed was there. It's almost as if the display is getting locked when I close my mac. I've tried it with the displays mirrored and not with the same results. I've even tried it with Insomnia running and turned off. Has anyone seen this before?

As a test, if you do the same thing, in say, TextEdit, does it work as expected? I am running Office 2011 (v 14.4.3). If I do the same test as you it seems to work. I just closed my rMBP clamshell in the middle of this post and the Safari window moved to the external display. My Dock bar is on the external display now. If I start Word, the menu bar has Word and I can type and see my typed text. This a rMBP Late 2013. Re-opened my Clamshell, and the Safari window is now on the built-in display and Word window is on the built-in display as well.

Suppose for an employee his two absence record has been locked and one additional payment has been locked. Is there any SAP standard report to display his locked records.

You create a query thru quick viewer.
where you can heve selection field as lock indicator and Personnel number.
Steps:
1. Goto SQ01
click Qucikviewer
or
SQVI
2.Create a new query
Datasouce:Table
Table:PA0006
3.Lst field Selection tab:
Add the fields pernr,lock indicator,enddat,begdate.
4.Selection fields Tab:
Add the fields pernr,lock indicator
5.Execute:
Your Query is ready now:

Custom Infotype not displaying locked records in the list screen (3000)

I have a custom infotype (9xxx) that will not display the locked records (locked indicator (sprps) is set to X) in the list screen (3000) in PA20 and PA30.
Any ideas on what may be causing the records to not display in the list screen?

for creating both employee and appliciant infotype you must check 'Both' in PM01 IT tab.

Air2 iPad rotate display lock?

AAll my other iPads had a switch near the volume buttons, the air2 does not. How do I stop the display rotation ?

You need to pull the Control Center up and tap the lock rotation icon.

Serious video related display lock up problem

I have a serious issue when playing any video (youtube, DVD, video chat, etc.). The whole computer locks up and the video on the screen freaks out. When I say freaks out I mean it scrambles and flashes and the sound starts looping on what it playing at the time of the malfunction. Video will work for a few seconds to a few minutes before this happens. The only cure is to restart the computer because all functions are locked. This ONLY happens during video playback.
My aluminum unibody macbook 2.0 is only a few weeks old. Any help is appreciated.

I am an ACMT and the issue you have described sounds remarkably like an issue I am dealing with at the moment. Playing a DVD intermittently causes the display to become scrambled and the sound does exactly as you have suggested. I have spoken to another ACMT (Apple Certified Macintosh Technician) who also had this issue. A replacement LCD and Logic Board did not fix the issue. I am currently testing my machine with some known good ram. The GPU accesses the main ram in order to draw the image. If the ram is faulty, it could lead to exactly what you have experienced. I will let you know how I go. So far the machine has successfully navigated 3 sittings of the same DVD without issue. Stay posted.

24" display locks up unibody MBP

If I connect the display to the MBP, everything works fine. Now I shut the MBP to put it to sleep, disconnect the display and open the MBP. It's now locked up and must be hard reset by holding the Power button. If I disconnect the display first and then shut the MBP, it wakes up just fine.
In other words, the MBP does not like waking up without the 24" display if it was there when it sleeped. Performing the exact same sequence of steps with a Dell monitor (connected via DVI) works as expected.
I'm using a brand new unibody MBP 15" with a brand new 24" LED monitor. Software Update has been run and everything installed.

Entourage Email Window Display Lock?

I just got a new MacBook Air and Thunderbolt display. When I open email in Entourage, the window automatically goes to the very upper left corner of the screen. How do I set it so it remembers to open windows in the middle of the display?

If email is in full screen mode mouse to the upper right hand corner and press the blue arrow
