Display looks like thermal camera effect from photo booth

I am using my dad's iMac from (new from July) and the screen looks like the thermal effect when using photo booth. Everything is sort of glowing and highlighted. Is there a quick fix to make it go back to regular display use. I'm not sure what things my dad has pushed to get us here (he had a stroke and doesn't speak), so your guess is as good as mine.
It has apple care and is under warranty. Should I reinstall software? Will that fix it?

I should also say that I have 10.4.11 on the computer and I've tried changing things in appearance and desktop and screen saver to no avail. When it booted up on the restart from os update, it looked fine until the very end when this effect took over. It's really weird, blue and sort of glowing.

However when the combobox is rendered all the values

I think the problem is that the result is a array of arrays
so I need to find away to ectract a particular colun of data into
the combobox
How do I fix this?

This is what I did for a single field.
If you were wanting the to have muliple fields in the
dropdown, I would concatenate them in the query.

How to make a crop looks like a camera zoom?

If I crop a part of a video and want to make the crop looks like a camera zoom... is there a "zoom transition" to put before and after the crop part? Million thanks if someone can solve this technical question...

Let's zoom in.
Select the clip and move the playhead to where you want the zoom to start in the timeline.
Activate the Crop function Shift-C and selec the middle crop function in the top left.
Press the keyframe button.
Move the playhead to where you want the zoom to end.
Crop and reposition the selection as you like in the viewer.
Click Done.

How to make it look like the camera is following a zig zagging line

I have an animated video where a person clicks a button and an arrow appears coming out of the right side of the computer. I would like to make it look like the camera follows the arrow as it zooms along a zig zag path and eventually ends at another computer. Does anyone know of any good tutorials for this?

This is just a matter of keyframes for camera position and point of interest.You are probably not going to find a tutorial that exactly matches your project. Try this:
Open up 2 views, one active camera, one top view.
Set a position keyframe for the camera where you want the movement to start.
Drag the point of interest to point at your subject (animated arrow)
Using the top view and setting the CTI (current time indicator) to the end point of the camera move, move the camera's point of interest to the same position as the animated arrow
Still in the top view, move the camera to it's final position
Using the pen tool (keyboard shortcut g) add points to the camera position path and drag them into a zig zag shape using the top view
Selecting the Point of interest in the timeline, adjust the position of the point of interest to follow the arrow as it animates across the screen by moving the CTI and setting new positions.
Another thing you could do would be just to use a lookAt expression for point of interest. This would keep the camera pointed at the arrow.
Hope this helps. Animating a camera is one of the most basic skills an AE artist should have. It takes a bit of practice but it's not hard.

Corrupt Quicktime files from Photo Booth

I am looking for a Quicktime Repair tool for Mac OS X. Preferably one that can re-write / repair quicktime headers and verify video frame data.
My 4 year old was making some videos of himself using Photo Booth .. my wife and I happened to discover them a few nights ago and were laughing like mad.. was really cute and funny.
So you can imagine our disappointment when I logged in today to move them to a safe location, and couldn't see them in Photo Booth. Inside the filesystem, I show a number of .MOV files, but none of them play. Quicktime reports "The movie could not be opened. The file is not a movie file." Seven of Fourteen movie files in the folder are like this.
When I try to open it in VLC I get a more detailed message in the message log (i've snipped it down for the purpose of posting)

I loaded the file up in 0xED (a Hex Editor) and the raw file header in the BAD files look like:

while a GOOD file header look something like

It looks corrupt to me. I'd like to think that only the header is corrupt, and the video data is still fine ... I was curious if anyone had anything to assist?
The only other thing I could think about doing was hexediting the headers, swapping good headers for the bad ones (since the videos from Photo Booth share the same dimension, FPS, etc)

Was this problem ever solved? I've got a similar one.

Photos from Photo Booth to Folder gone

I exported the photos from photo booth to a folder on the desktop and then deleted the photos off photo booth and now its gone from the folder also. but for some reason its not on the trash bin. is there a way i can get those photos back?

..i was searching the forums and empty some of the files of the Photo Booth appl,but still same thing.The funny thing is if i drag the picture to the desctop,it stays.But in Skype now shows some address,where to find the shot taken..And it was not like this before??

Importing from photo booth, problems with length and sound

I have a 15 min (277 MB) video clip from photo booth that I would like to post to youtube. I can't get it to work and have been wrestling with a few different programs:
When opening the clip in Quicktime, there is no sound. I can open with VLC media player and the sound is fine.
The clip is too long to import to youtube, so i need to edit it into two sections. However, when try to import the clip into iMovie HD 6, the program crashes (maybe because it is again too long?).
So I purchased Quicktime pro so I could edit the clip. I am able to do this fine, but still have the sound problem. When I saved the edited version, and try to open with VLC, still no sound. Same with iMovie, I can import the smaller clip, but no sound.
I now realize that photobooth is less than ideal for long clips...but we got carried away.
Any input would be appreciated!

I use KDE, but I had sound issues too when I tried Gnome, and just couldn't get it to work right (One of the reasons I use KDE) but if I remember correctly, I needed to install the esd sound daemon and add it to /etc/rc.conf to get sound in gnome.

How to add effects to Photo Booth?

Last night I was playing around in Quartz Composer and figured out, that you can use the iSight camera as an image input. I added some effects and my composition would make a nice video chat effect in Photo Booth.
But how can I add my .qtz movie to Photo Booth?
Dragging it to where you drag your custom backgrounds doesnt get me very far.
Somewhere must be a folder with all the effects used, or?
Any suggestions, experiences, thoughts are welcome,

Okay, I figured out how to get my clips running and how to name them.
Pretty cool so far.
My last question is: Where can I adjust how many effect pages will show up in Photo Booth?
Since my last "more Photo Booth effects" installation i have additional 3 pages of effects.
But when I add some of my effects, Photo Booth doesnt auto-add a 4th effect page. Instead of that the last effect (in alphabetical order) wont show up any more.
Anybody an idea?

Exporting Vids from Photo Booth

I'm not sure if this is the correct discussion venue so please redirect if it should be posted elsewhere. I'm trying to email videos from Photo Booth. I used to just click email, Mail would pop up and the videos would go out. Now it says the server cannot handle it. I've tried to export it to the desktop and email it but it goes out as a photo not as a video. When I export the gif file it says it is a video but in reality it is not. Is there a help section for this? The videos are less than two minutes. It used to work just fine it's confusing. Thank you. Tami Stewart

From what I could understand, you took at 4 photo picture and want to export it without the effect. This is an Apple limitation which we have no control over (we do not work for Apple). I suggest retaking the photo without the effect. That is the best I can do. Sorry.

Problem with dragging photos from Photo Booth to Skype

I am new to Apple world.For a month now i got my shiny new iMac 21 inch Intel Core Duo comp.I love it an d all the new things i discover at Mac OS X.But after the first update i made some of the programs get weird :)) First had to reinstall the Flash Player because of Safari problems..and so on.But lately i found that can`t drag pictures from Photo Booth to Skype any more.It was easy before,now it is not working.can you tell me where to search and what to do?? You can email the photos from Photo Booth or from the camera roll in the photos app.
Tap on the photo to select it and then tap the arrow icon in the upper right corner and select email - in the photos app ..... or tap email - in Photo Booth - at the bottom of the screen.

Yeah, that sounds about right for a camera of that pixel count.

Mediabrowser only show photos from Photo Booth

The media browser works OK for audio and movies but not for photos.
I can only see photos from Photo Booth but not from iPhoto or Apperture and I can not add Photofolders from the Finder.

Without knowing the answer I will suggest that you trash the com.apple.iwork.pages.plist residing in your name > Library > Preferences. Start Pages again and see it it works now.
You can create a new user account in which you try Pages and se if it works there. If it doesn't it is probably a problem with Pages and it should be reinstalled.
