Display 'No Data Found' if the records doesnot match the parameter

Can anyone pls answer this question.
I have just one parameter, if i select a value from the parameter and the results matches then the report shows records which is obvious but IF no data is matching to the value I selected in parameter, Can I didplay NO Data Found when I run the report??
I want Display No Data found on my report, I just get a blank page with report title, date and PageNof M

Hi,
I am converting an rdf to BI publisher. The issue is when there is no detail (inv) but still there is still xml data , due to which the report is getting printed with the skeleton template and blank details(inv).
I need to avoid printing the report out if there is not inv detail even though there is xml data. or atleast show 'NO DATA FOUND' msg. and print the report output only when there is inv data.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi Srini,
Now I am running into another problem. When there is no detail data it displays 'No data found' as expected in the report output. But is there any way to restrict the print option (avoid wasting the paper) to just display 'No data found' in the output but not to print the output only in this case.

I have a SVG pie chart and written a message 'no data found' under charts attributes.
If there is no data for the chart,
In IE :the chart region will be blank . chart heading will be displayed and . no 'no data found ' message is displayed.
In mozilla : in the chart region, i can see ,the part of whole page where i display the chart ,is filled . Chart region heading is also displayed.
Could you please reply , how to display 'no data found ' in svg pie chart?

Getting a error ...data found in the main document but not in data source

Good morning .....
I am generating letters , calling wordpad from forms 6i......when it calls the wordpad document . it is saying that ...data found in the maindocument but not in the data source ...
but when i see manually in that wordpad data source is present .
please let me know .. if anyone know solution for this ......

Workflow portlet displays no data found

I've managed to succesfully install the workflow portlet.
I've added it to a portal page but when the portlet displays on the page all I get is no data found under the headings.
When I go to the default workflow page for the same user I can see data in the worklist option. I'm using single sign on to access the default workflow page.
Can anyone help, thanks in advance.

I don't know what version you use but in my case, I use workflow as a component of Oracle Content Services (v 10.1.2)
You need to configure the notification mailer, setup an email account on your mail server for inbound message, turn on imap, etc... check out the documentation I used here: http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B25553_01/content.1012/b25275/workflow.htm#i1009931

No sap data found in the database SID !

Hello All,
While doing BI system copy activity, we are getting message as no sap data found in the database <SID>! and we could not able to proceed further.
We have MS SQL 2005 as DB and Windows 2003 STD as our OS. We are doing the system copy through homogeneous system copy method (Backup / Restore).
Before running SAPint we had deleted the old database then restored the database from the backup which we had taken of our production system.
We also ran the SQL script user_change.sql as per the note # 551915 but in SAPint we are getting above mentioned error.
Could you please help me in this regard ?

Hi at all, I have the same error. But I'm wondering about the assumption, that the schema renaming should be the root cause.
I'm trying to copy a BI dual tack system on Windows/MSSQL database specific (http://scn.sap.com/thread/3380228)
Now I'm defining the parameters in SAPINST (SoftwareProvMngr), so at the moment in no step I've to set up any old schema. Also I'm not at the step of defining the JAVA export.
At the moment the SAPINST tool is trying to connect the main SAP DB.
I attached and renamed the ABAP part of the DB. I will now try to detach the DB, I assume the SAPINST Tool will install to an empty DB. So if you attach a DB with a wrong schema it can not find any tables in the instance shema of the SID defined in SAPINST and it work... we will see...
Detach was the wrong Idea... it seems there is any issue with the permissions...

How to display 'NO DATA FOUND' in etext template (BI Publisher)

Hi,
I want to display the message 'No Data found' when there are no records for a particular group. I know that 'DISPLAY CONDITION' should be used to conditionally display the message. But, it has not worked for me.
Can anybody please give the exact format to achieve this?

LOV cancel button displays 'No Data Found'

I have 5 fields on a form where the users can search different information based on what they type into the search fields. Once they have their search criteria they hit a 'Search' button, I have a when_button_pressed button trigger on the search button. On this trigger I have logic to build a record group dynamically, after the RG gets populated dynamically I am using the SHOW_LOV bulit-in to present my LOV to the end user. All this works well, however, there is a new requirement in where the client wants a 'no data found' message displayed on the screen when users type arbitrary/invalid information on any of the search fields. I was able to accomplish this by simply putting the following code in the ELSE part of my main IF statement for my LOV.

          display_message('No Data Found');
          END IF;
END;
The code above displays the message they want to see when search users search on invalid criteria. So finally, here is the issue, when they search on VALID criteria the LOV obviously pops up without any issues but if users click the 'Cancel' button in the LOV window they get the 'No Data Found' message above too. They only want to see the message if there is invalid data searched.
How can I make sure that after the LOV gets populated my code doesn't return the No Data Found message when they press Cancel on the LOV?

Hi Francois,
I used the get_group_row_count you suggested and I was able to incorporate it into my code without any issues and more importantly it is working now! This is what I did, after populating the record group, I checked to see if the row count was greater than 0 for the RG if it was not then I’m displaying the message. It is working correctly.

Oracle designer web application: NO DATA FOUND if no record returned

We use oracle designer 6i to generate web applicaion. Is there methods to popup message box like 'NO DATA FOUND' when click search or submit button from screen?Oracle web server generator automatically generate lots packages and functions like function QueryHits, it returns the number of record, my question is how can I catch this paremeter from designer module or module components before code generation? what kind parameter do I need to define and passe to Designer so that Oracle web server generator knows this parameter at generating time or run time?

For displaying messages you can use On-Message trigger attached to the form. In the Forms on-line help you can find also a good example - "On-Message Trigger" topic.
In Designer this trigger is created at module level (Application logic-Events).

No data found in the discoverer Viewer from Apps responsabiltiy

We have built a new responsibility for the discoverer reports, that is we directly access the discoverer viewer from the separate responsibility,all the report that shared with the users can be viewed from this responsibility,
but when the user tries to run the report it is saying no data found.but for example if the user is trying to run the hrms report from this discoverer reasonability he get no data found but if we attach the function to the HRMS manager menu and try to access the report from the HRMS manager responsabilty we are able to get the data.
We did the same setup in dev and test.in dev it is working very fine but in test we are not able to see the records in the report if we try to access.

Hi,
I'm not 100% familiar with HR security, but sounds like profile option setup related to security - perhaps Business Group or Initialization SQL Statement - Oracle / Custom? Check the profile options set for the HRMS Manager responsibility and setup the same for your new responsibility.
PS. Similar sort of thing exists in General Ledger related to security. See:

Db connect no data found in the table

Hi Gurus,
I want to extract data from the oracle database, through db connect, when i edit the datasource and press the button display table contents, it says no data found.
What could be the problem, i have created the source system properly, given all the information. seperatetly i logged into oracle and check the table contents it exists but does it not show up when i want to create a data source. Can anyone help me please,it would be of great help i'm trying to figure out what was the problem in oss notes also but still not found a solution any help will be of great help.

We have developed a livearchive prototype which will create a remote table on the remote database like oracle based on a infoprovider i.e either ods object or the infocube, we are archiving the infoprovider data into the rmote table, now the requirement is we want to extract, reload those table information back again into the infocube, so is it possible to do it, in the oracle database i can create views based on these table and also can view the data present in those tables, but when i want to extract through a datasource back again i do not find any data what could be the problem.

I load data into an item and then into chart like data[&item.]
When no data is found with dynamic query chart shown is blank.
