Display number of windows open for an app on dock?

I'd like to know if there's an application out there that will display a small number on the dock icon for each program that has more than one window open. This would be especially helpful for web browsers. I always maximize every program I use, so sometimes I lose windows.

Not that I know of but a right click on any Dock icon will display all open windows.

Can you fix , the fact that If you leave the firefox update window open for a long period (say 20 minutes in the background), then close all other windowns, then choose to install, it uses this extra time to estimate the download?

Got Display driver via Windows Update for Windows 8.1 and try to use it for Windows Server 2012 R2

Hi Everyone,
the following driver cab is from Windows Update:

It includes this display driver:
Intel(R) Q45/Q43 Express Chipset (Microsoft Corporation - WDDM 1.1)
My problem is: I can't install this driver on Windows Server 2012 R2.
I tried the following, nothing worked:
a) pnputil -i -a intel.cab
b) Extract cab, update the device's driver in device manager, select "search for driver software in this location"
c) copy the files in system32/, system32/drivers, syswow64/ from a Windows 8.1 system to a Windows Server 2012 R2 system
Isn't it true that any Windows 8.1 driver should also work for Windows Server 2012 R2 (same os version)?

"Procurement Wizard" window opens for a particular warehouse while saving Sales Order

Hello All,
We have upgraded SAP B1 8.8 to SAP B1 9.0
My client is facing one of problem while saving Sales order using particular warehouse.
Actually client is having 4 warehouses (A,B,C,D) in which if they use one particular warehouse "A" for saving Sales order they are facing a issue. The scenario is here below:
1. Client selects all required details of sales order with along with particular warehouse "A".
2. On saving SO "Procurement Wizard" is automatically triggered even if procurement document field is unchecked in logistic tab of SO.
3. This is happening only for a particular warehouse "A". Whereas if I select other 3 warehouses (B,C,D) the system saves SO without trigerring "Procurement Wizard".
Client is using SAP B1 9.0 PL 08
We don't want this "Procurement Wizard" window to open for this. As we haven't selected any check box for "Procurement Wizard" so it should not open for a particular warehouse "A".
Do you think any issue with my warehouse or system settings? Please let me know.

We are working on an app and have created 39 Achievements, but Game Center only shows 35 available achievements for the app. Does this mean that we are only allowed 35?

No, you should be able to create more achievements. Some games developed by larger developers such as Pocket God and Angry Birds have well over 50 possible achievements. If you continue to have trouble with this, you may want to visit the Developer site.

Can't open Home or Apps from Dock

Hi all,
I've just done an Archive & Install and now can't open the Home or Applications folders from the Dock. When I click on them in the Dock, an icon that looks like a cassette tape appears for a second, then disappears. I can open Home and Apps from the HD folder on my desktop.
Any ideas?

I can put the Applications and Home icons in the Dock (next to the Trash) but neither folder will open from there. I have to go to my Mac HD folder on the desktop to open both. It seems there's some problem with the shortcut, but the actual folders are there and open OK, just not from the Dock.
Yes, Trash opens fine.
If it sheds any light, I'm noticing strange things since doing the Archive & Install. For example, Column View doesn't stick (after setting it in Apple > Dock > Dock Preferences to 'always open in column view') and I'm unable to download Acrobat Reader (it returns an error message saying it's not compatible with my system). Error in opening the display on local windows machine for DBCA GUI from rem

Hi Chaps,
I connected remote machine using SSH putty from my windows local PC
I set the environmnet on my remote linux5 mahcine as
$export DISPLAY=10.96.5.153:0.0
and ran xclock on remote machine to see the GUI on my local machine(10.96.5.153). unfortunately I got an error
'Error: Can't open display: 10.96.5.153:0.0'
the whole idea of doing above is to invoke DBCA GUI on my local machine
can you please enlight your experience? any solution to this will be appreciated.

If you are using VNC you have to follow:
1. Check vnc is running or not
service vncserver status << if its return Xvnc stopped
service vncserver start
2. vncserver (if you run first time it will ask you password, enter valid password)
3. as a root user
export DISPLAY=linux_machine_hostname(or IP of linux):1.0
xhost +
4. run Vncviwer from ur machine then enter
linux_machine_hostname(or IP of linux):1.0 and pass
5. From vnvviwer screen
su - oracle
Then you can run DBCA

Finder window opened in other apps (e.g. open / save as) freezes app

Hi, I have been running Mavericks 10.9.1 without any problems for the last couple weeks, since two days ago applications have been freezing up / going into endless loops (requiring force quit) whenever I open the finder pop-up to look for files to open or to "save as" within the app. E.g. Mail - choosing files to attach to a mail, or opening the "save as" dialog in any program and choosing a folder anywhere in the file system causes the application to hang. I have submitted the log files. In one or other of them (but not all) the message "Too many threads open" (or something approx. like it) was about the only understandable thing I could see. I checked the number of open threads using activity monitor but there didn't seem to be an excessive number opened by any application (none >100). I can browse all the disks (internal SSD, HDD, external USB brives, SD cards etc) without any problems evident. This has only started since I set up my iPhone to use iCloud to replicate contacts etc, and also the "Back to my Mac" function. I have since disabled this, disabled Google Drive, done a verify disk on the primary SSD, and the behaviour is still there. The only updates in that time have been to iTunes, which wirks as normal.
Anyone have any ideas?

This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you boot, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, reboot as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of Steps 1 and 2.

New window opening for only one standard ESS service

I am facing a problem with only one standard service Org chart. All other services like who's who , change own data are opening in same portal window. but when i click OrgChart its opening in other window. what could be the problem ? Is it something related backend customization?

window Name property should not contain anything.I am not sure which one is the right resource but do some trial and error.

[SOLVED] keeping terminal window open for scrot keyboard shortcut

Hey,
Im trying to bind a keyboard shortcut to scrot with the -s command (for selecting window). Normal scrot command works fine straight away, but with the -s command a terminal window needs to be open that waits for the selection. i have created a file called lscrot with the following code:
1 #!/bin/bash
/usr/bin/terminal --working-directory=$HOME/dump/ --geometry 0x0-0-0 -e "/usr/bin/scrot -s"
i have put the file in /usr/bin folder with 755 permissions.
if i right click the file and choose "execute", the new terminal window will stay open and i can select an area to take a screenshot of, but when i bind it to a shortcut key (using xfce) the new terminal window will close immediately rendering the shortcut useless.
how does one fix this?

hmmm, ok. binding keys to /usr/bin/scrot works fine, but /usr/bin/scrot -s does not. dont really know where to begin searching for a fix...
EDIT: im assuming there is something elementary i am missing. after further testing, launching for example scrot ~/dump/test.png from console works fine, but not when i bind it to a keyboard shortcut. however, scrot test.png works to bind. does anyone know anything more about XFCe and binding keyboard shortcuts?
EDIT2: ok so im honing in a little bit, i realised that the first times i use the keyboard shortcut it works. forcing the terminal window to stay open after command has been executed i see following error:
giblib error: couldn't grab keyboard:Resource temporarily unavailable
Searching the net i found old bug that was closed without (seemingly) being solved.

EDIT3: ok so found a solution, "sleep". Adding sleep 0.1 to the top of the screenshot script seemed to help. seems you need to give sometime to release the keyboard for scrot to use. would still be great if anyone knew how to get it to work by using a direct command in the keyboard shortcut bindings. ie binding in straight to "scrot -s". using Alt+F2 then typing in scrot -s works fine, so i really dont see why i cant bind a keyboard command straight to that.
NOTE: how do i see xsession errors? I find no .xsession-errors file in my home directory. been searching for months.

After recently downgrading back to iOS 6.1.4 on my iPhone 5, I am trying to get back my apps but every time I go into the App Store it only shows the option "Open" for the apps that I had previously. The apps don't appear in my home screen. HELP

How can u downgrade. Apple doesn't allow that. Unless your iPhone 5 is jail broken. iOS 7 isn't even out yet. There Is no way u can get iOS 7 unless it was beta. And if so beta is having some issues.

Error of "maximum number of windows open" when trying to open an Adobe document on my Mac

Were you able to fix the error you mention? My Mac installed new Adobe updates today and it seems, as a result, that I now have the same issue where whenever I try to open any Adobe document on my computer, it tries to open ALL of my adobe documents. I am unable to access these documents as the error message will not allow me to say "OK" or to manually close each individually. The only way to get beyond the error is to do "force quit" for Adobe. Is there anything I can do to fix this problem so that I can access my Adobe files?

A new window opens for everything I click, what could be wrong?

Everytime I click anything, it opens in a new window, rather than changing the page I'm on. If I specify I can get it to open in a new tab, but the page itself refuses to change. It happened randomly. I haven't touched anything in the options, though I have been trying to see if t here is anything wrong there. I found nothing. Anyone have any ideas on what could be going on?

everything. anything i clicked would open in a new window. i went to options, but there was nothing off. i tried altering them anyway, and then setting them back to normal and it did nothing. anything clicked, opened in a new windo.
oddly enough it seems to have self-corrected somehow, which makes me a bit uncomfortable, not knowing how or why this began, or how it came to cease...
