Display of Dotted Line Relationship

Dear all,
I have a scenario where in a subordinate ( location India) reports to 2 supervisor; 1 from the same location as the subordinate & the other supervisor is from the other location (USA). There is a dotted line relationship between the subordinate & the supervisor from USA. How can i view this structure - the dotted line relationship. Pls help
rgds,

Hi
Once you define the relation ship goto ppos_old and see the structure. After you got the structure of the org unit then click on the staff assignments and look for the position to which you have specified the relation. And go for the reporting structure under the main menu-> Goto-> Reporting structure  then you can see the relation ship between the persons but you wont see it as a dotted line its normal line which you can see.

Vijaya.

  • Dotted Line Relationships

    Hello HCM Experts,
I have been reading through all of the threads on this topic, and I have seen multiple ways of handling dotted line relationships - A/B005, A/B088, A/B742, or custom OM infotype to maintain this relationship.
Which of these is best practice?  We have A/B005 active as an allowed relationship, however when I tested it I realized that we cannot currently visualized this relationship type in the OM - which can lead to maintenance issues/errors.  The A/B088 relationship will need to be maintained if we are to use it, but I want to know what is best practice before I activate it...and will we be able to see this relationship in PPOME?
We are about to implement Nakisa and the business would like to begin visualizing dotted line relationships (something we do not do at this time).  I need to know the best pracitce way for doing this.
    Though/advise??

    Hi,
As per my understanding, the A/B742 relationship is only offered from EhP4 onwards under the talent management module. From a Nakisa stand point and how well it communicates within SAP specially Talent Management, you would think that they would recommend using A/B742.
I think the A/B088 is not offered in ECC6, A/B005 is there though but you have found out it lacking for your requirement. Let us see what other peers have to say.
    Hope this helps.

  • Icons display as dotted line box

My first post to the community. Please be gentle.
When I access my Documents or Downloads folder from the dock, the individual files are displayed as a dotted line box rather than the icon preview of the file. If I access the Documents or Downloads folder using Finder, the icons display as expected (miniature version of the picture, .pdf, document, etc).  For the life of me, I can't figure out why this is or how to correct it.
Not a big issue, but it is really bugging me that I can't figure it out. Any help would be much appreciated.

  • Non-appearance of Dotted borders aroundthe dotted line positionorgchart box

    Dear Experts
Non-appearance of Dotted borders around the dotted line position orgchart box
In the Nakisa 3.0u2019s Org Chart main view, Dotted borders around the org chart box to identify positions with dotted-line relationships is not appearing. In the Position Hierarchy also, the Dotted line u2013 Org units details are not appearing even though the std. ZNG relationship data has been maintained.
Whereas, The position to position dotted line reporting details are appearing in the structure tab under u2018Dotted Line - Reports Tou2019 block as the 005 relationship data are maintained.
Configurations done in the Admin Console:
In the Admin console under u2018General Settingsu2019 configuration of Organization structure, in the u2018Dotted Relationship Filteru2019 we have configured as u201C IsDotted = 'TRUE' u201C. Whereas the fields u2013 u2018Child Exists Filteru2019, u2018Parent Description Fieldu2019, u2018Assistant Filteru2019 are all left BLANK. All other fields are respective default values.
Similarly, In the Admin console under u2018General Settingsu2019 configuration of Position under the Organization structure, in the u2018Dotted Relationship Filteru2019 we have configured as u201C IsDotted = 'TRUE' u201C. u2018Hierarchy Parent Fieldu2019 = ISDOTTEDORGUNIT. All other fields are respective default values.
Kindly suggest the solution for displaying the Dotted borders around the org chart box to identify positions with dotted-line relationships. (Note:- relevant ZNG relationship data is already maintained).

  • NAKISA_Dotted Line Relationship

    Dear Expert,
We need maintain Dotte line relationship in SAP OM and we need to reflect the relationship over NAKISA Organizational Visualization "OrgChart" and in the details panel as well.
We plan to maintain dotted-line relationship through either a standard relationship e.g., A|088-’Dotted line reports to’ or a custom relationship A|Z88-’Dotted line reports to’ if SAP can recommend?
Does the Dotted Line in NAKISA required any further configuration via NAKISA Admin or it can be reflecting automatically in OrgChart?
    Regards,
    Ihsan

    Ihsan.
The latest version of OrgChart (you don't actually mention what version you are using) will display dotted line relationships without any additional configuration.
The following is the information it uses for visualising the dotted line relationships (as per field mapping check list):
    Generic Fields and Relationships
    SAP Table Name
    Object Type
    SAP Relationship
    Notes
    Dotted position to position
    HRP1001
    S to S
    A005
    Dotted position to org unit
    HRP1001
    S to O
    ZNG
Nakisa hierarchy dataelement has default value of 'ZNG' for dotted relationship. This value must be adjusted to match SAP backend data.

  • IPhoto 6-photo are gone, just dotted lines.  info is still there.

I was working on macbook pro on airplane with an external HD where my iPhoto library is kept. My battery ran out so I closed the laptop and disconnected the ext. HD until I got home. After turning on the laptop at home, the computer opened up to iPhoto still open and images showing. Only I had forgotten to connect the ext. HD yet. I believe I closed the program and connected the ext. HD and reopened iPhoto. This time all the photo images were not displayed, only dotted lines where they would have been. This was true for the thumbnail and the large image. The info box still showed the correct file name and size etc. but no image. What happened and how do I fix this? I did go to the finder and iphoto library and found that I could see the images there, so they shouldn't be gone. Just need to know what to do so iphoto can see them all. Thanks
    Jon

Apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
2 - run Option #4 to rebuild the database.
    Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments.  However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

  • Dote Line Reporting Structure in OM

    Hi Experts
I want to create the Doted Line Reporting structure in OM. Is this relationship type A004- Is subordinate to (disc.). I am confused in this.
    Please help me in this.
    Thanks
    Sheetal Gupta

    Hi Sheetal,
I think In the relationship infotype 1001 you can maintain relationship A/B088 ie dotted line relationship.
But for doing this, I think you need to have a Matrix Organisation.
I think you can go to transaction Code OOVK and maintain 088 relationsip also from there.
More information can be found at Dotted Line relationship in OM

    Venkat.

  • Dotted lines

    Hi Experts,
Can anyone explain me about dotted lines relationship in OM, how it works and how it should be created?
    Thanks in advance to all,
    Nisha

    Hello Nisha ,
Dotted line reporting structure normally used for dual reporting purposes.
like if one employee has asolid line manager maintained in OM through S to O as A 003 or B 003 relationship then as per standard workflow all his leave appliaction, PD forms and other standard workflow will be triggered to this lina manager but for any purpose suppose this employee needs to report to another manager for Leave appliaction , which can be called as administrative reporting then teh DOTTED LINE comes to picture.
like we can use the POSTIOTN TO POSTION reporting through relationship B 004 or A004 , which will help us to make this work in workflow too.
I hope this clears your query .
    regards
    Debasish

  • Horizontal black/dotted lines on Apple Studio Display

As of about six hours ago, my screen is suddenly showing several horizontal 1px thick lines at the top of the screen; they are usually black but sometimes change to alternating black and white dotted line when a window is moved around in the area they're covering. They were not there this morning when I used the computer, they just showed up without warning. I've restarted the system to no avail; any suggestions on next steps or ideas of what might be going on here?

    Hi bogisan
To clarify, I mentioned in my original post that I'd tested with DV and got the same problem...
    dewshi wrote:
Actually, it shows the same issue displaying DV-PAL!
Although I'm working with ProRes, I have already experimented with playing out DV on a DV timeline, which should be less demanding than ProRes, as you're suggesting.
It doesn't look to me like the familiar cheese-grater artefact associated with interlacing issue as there's only one break in the image, rather than mismatching alternative lines when there is horizontal motion. I've tried different sequence settings for the field order, with no difference.
I'm wondering if the display is out of sync? It literally looks like the screen has been sliced by a razor 1/3 of the way down, and the bottom part is a different frame to the top. It happens when I scrub through the timeline too, but stabilises once parked on single frame.
By the way, I've also checked that the MBP has switched to the NVIDIA card rather than the slower, less energy consuming Intel video card.
Will check out the MBP forum too...
    Thanks

  • I can't see my photos! They appear as dotted lines in a square shape.

when i click on my library or any of the subfolders, most of my photos aren't showing up. i know the image is still there, but i can't see it. instead of a thumbnail pix, there is just a white dotted line in the shape of a square where the pix should be and it's title displayed under it.
when i double click on the dotted line box, and it brings it up big in the 'edit' box, there is an ! in the middle of the dotted line square. i tried updating the iphoto version to 6 and that seemed to work fine, but still most of my pix aren't showing up.
maybe 5% of my pix are still showing up, inner mixed with the 95% that have become dotted lines.
    help!
    B- :O)

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
The ! or ? turns up when iPhoto loses the connection between the thumbnail in the iPhoto Window and the file it represents.
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the apple and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild.
If this fails then it is likely that you have a damaged database file.
Try these in order - from best option on down...
    1. Do you have an up-to-date back up? If so, try copy the library6.iphoto file from the back up to the iPhoto Library allowing it to overwrite the damaged file.
    2. Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
    3. If neither of these work then you'll need to create and populate a new library.
To create and populate a new library:
Note this will give you a working library with the same Rolls and pictures as before, however, you will lose your albums, keywords, modified versions, books, calendars etc.
Move the iPhoto Library to the desktop
Launch iPhoto. It will ask if you wish to create a new Library. Say Yes.
Go into the iPhoto Library on your desktop and find the Originals folder. From the Originals folder drag the individual Roll Folders to the iPhoto Window and it will recreate them in the new library.
When you're sure all is well you can delete the iPhoto Library on your desktop.
In the future, in addition to your usual back up routine, you might like to make a copy of the library6.iPhoto file whenever you have made changes to the library as protection against database corruption.
    Regards
    TD
The most common cause of this is User Activity in the iPhoto Library Folder in the Finder.
Have you altered, moved or renamed anything in the iPhoto Library Folder?
    Regards
    TD

  • Sneak Peek #3 about the future of Photoshop: dashed and dotted lines

Zorana Gee shared another Photoshop Sneak Peek, this time about dashed and dotted lines:
Could it be useful in your workflow?

I think dotted and dashed lines with gradients sounds useful. I won't have to go to Illustrator and back to get those functions.
    BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY
I would like to see some other upgrades to the pen tool and vector masks:
    • All too often I can't really see the pen tool line when I am making a vector selection – it gets lost in the clutter. Could there be an option to assign a color to the path? Hot green or magenta?
    • I would like to be able to change the size that vector points display. If I could make the points appear slightly larger it would often make editing easier.
    • I would like to be able to select two points very close to one another and JOIN them like in AI. I don't understand why the pen tool doesn't share more of the functions of the pen tool in Illustrator such as CUT. It sometimes seems like the vector tools in Photoshop and Illustrator were developed completetly independent of one another.
Attached (I hope) are images demonstrating how hard it can be to see paths. Can you see the paths? In the first image the path is there, not selected. In the second the path is selected. This makes my work very irritating sometimes.
