Display of probook 4530s fuzzy lines

I spilled a drop of water on the power button and then the screen was filled with lines and distorted.  What to do? It starts OK,  but after that it gets fuzzy in display,  with lines all across. If it's a display problem,  how can I see and read info before my log on prompt?

Hi

First thing to do:
Disconnect all the external peripherals
Disconnect power cord AC supply
Disconnect battery
Do not power on system at all
Keep it under fan
You cannot assess the damage of that liquid spill to a good technical expert has assessed them.

  • Probook 4530s Display Enclosure / Hinge Set / Optical Drive Replacement (Windows 7 Home Premium)

    Hello, thank you in advance for taking the time.
    I have 2 Probook 4530s, one is fully functional, with cosmetic damage (and an nonworking optical drive).
    The other is missing HD and ram, with a dysfunctional MB, but pristine as far as aesthetics.
    My goal is to replace my hingeset, display enclosure and optical drive on my working 4530s with the parts from the non-working one.
    I do have a pdf titled "c02844462" which I believe is the full manual for the 4530s.
    This brings up a few questions.
    1. Would it be easier to transfer the HD, ram, and MB from working laptop to the other, or rather transfer the hinge set, display enclosure and optical drive from nonworking to other.
    2. What tools would i need aside from a small phillips/flat?
    3. As I am fairly inexperienced with computer/laptop hardware, (I've only installed ram and replaced a keyboard) am I getting myself in too deep with either or both of these options? (my warranty is no longer applicable).
    Again, thanks for taking time to read and ponder this

  • Fuzzy line on the middle of display.

    Recently i have found a fuzzy line in the middle of my retina macbook pro screen (15"). I have always treated it very well, it never falled down.
    The line appear only with a strong light from sun, especially with dark backgounds on the screen.
    The line seams like dust, it's not like a crack. It has a lenght of 9cm long and an height of 1mm.
    I understand that the problem is probably related to how i used the mac, but i don't undertand the cause. The only thing have done is replacing the Spek cover, but two or three weeks before now. What do you think? Have I to replace the screen? How much does it cost?
    Hope you can help me.

  • HP ProBook 4530s won't power up

    Hi, When I power up the HP ProBook 4530s the power button lights up but the display doesn't come on. It stays that way untilI power the notebook down (nothing is displayed whatover).  The battery is in useless condition and the notebook runs on AC power only. Recently (two weeks before the post) I received the error "The User Profile Service failed the logon. User profile cannot be loaded” error message in Windows 7 and fixed it by booting the computer in safe mode and fixing the registry entries. I can see that the USB port receives power and both the cooling fans (internal and external) are functioning when I power up. Would be deeply gratified if you can help me sort this out. Thanks,Rajasekar Vijayaraghavan

  • Screen does not turn on after sleep - ProBook 4530s - Windows 8.1 (64bit)

    Hi everyone,
    Not sure if this had to be posted in notebook display and video section, or laptop lockups, freezes and hangs. Anyway, I have a problem, where everything is fine with the computer, it's running smoothly, but whenever I make it go to sleep, after it does it instantly, the signals are of a regular laptop sleep - power buton flashing, no other signs of computer being on.
    However, the problem appears when turning the computer back on after sleep. After pressing the power button, the computer straight away starts working - you can hear the fan turned on, etc, just that pretty much nothing changes with the screen. Sometimes, with some particular light directed towards the screen, you can even see, that the computer is on (seeing the clock on the display), just like the brightness was set down to 2% or something. And there is nothing that helps from what I have tried to do (tried reinstalling both AMD drivers and Intel HD drivers). I researched this problem extensively but could not find a solution, however, as I have noticed that this is quite an old problem (assuming from the date of the posts this problem first showed up), there might be a solution for it, to which I just have not noticed the answer?
    If anyone can help me, please do, the sleep function is essential and extra important function when living on campus at university, I just cannot operate like this.
    Hopefully someone will know, thank you in advance.

  • W520 extended out to LCD got fuzzy lines?

    have been using these 2 machines for years already, i linked them up with a Display Port -> DVI cable, somehow now the Philips LCD got fuzzy line like this :
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/yqa2lyt9llf1yj6/20150128_101415.mp4?dl=0
    Tried with a VGA cable and used Nvidia software to extend screens, but problem still exists.
    My machines:
    W520 + Philips 240PW.

    Does the Philips LCD work using another display source?
    W520: i7-2720QM, Q2000M at 1080/688/1376, 21GB RAM, 500GB + 750GB HDD, FHD screen

  • Freezing, fuzzy lines

    Whilst using my ibook g4 today I clicked on explorer and all of a sudden a load of little lines started to flick on the screen and the screen froze. I have re started my computer a number of times since and heres what happens
    1.The grey screen comes up with apple logo and spinny thing then freezes
    2.Goes through to a blue screen and freezes
    3.Gets to the desktop display and then freezes with fuzzy lines
    I have tried the fsck -y(think thats the right thing), and it says everything is fine. I have inserted my osx restore disk only to have that freeze aswell with the fuzzy lines.
    I have managed to firewire all the documents onto my G5 so i dont mind wiping anything.
    Any suggestions would be much appreciated
    Trev

    Hello Trev
    Given that your machine works in target mode (I assume this is how you got your data off) you may be able to run disk utility from your G5 and see if that shows up anything amiss.
    If not then it is either get hold of a copy of diskwarrior which can help or go for a clean install. Make sure you go for a secure disk formatting option (Zero all data) as this will map out any bad sectors on your drive.
    You havn't by any chance got Norton on there have you? Had a couple of freinds who's machines have gone west with similar symptoms as a result.

  • HP ProBook 4530s USB 3.0 driver failure

    Hi,
    I have a ProBook 4530s (pn:A1D18EA#AKC) with Win7 x64 English version. There is a renesas USB 3.0 Host controller built in.
    When I install the device driver it works correctly but when I close the lid of laptop and turn it back the HW stops working and the "This device cannot start. (Code 10)" error appears in device status under device manager. When I uninstall the driver, reinstall, reboot then it works until the first sleep. Hibernating turned off. I tried many drivers without success.
    If i disable the device under device manager and re-enable it it solves the problem but it is not normal. It is seriously annoying me.
    At this time the driver information is this:
    Renesas Electronics
    2011.10.25.
    2.1.28.0
    Microsoft Windows Hardware Compatibility Publisher
    There is a Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter in device manager without driver.
    It displays a "This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)" message. What is this hardware and where can I found a driver?
    Thanks

  • Ipod to tv white/black fuzzy lines

    please help and advise if im doing something wrong.i have the ipod setting on tv set to on,set at pal(have tried ntsc still same)when i plug ipod into tv to watch video/photos all i get is black/white fuzzy lines across screen,thought at first cable faulty but have now tried a second cable still the same issue.what am i doing wrong has anyone had same problem and sorted it.please advise...thanks

    there will always be ways to get around purchasing something from apple for those who are so inclined. the link i included above shows the difference in wiring, and sure, you can swap / rewire / cut / change your existing cables if you like. it shows you how to wire to an ibook av cable which is the same as a standard DV from what i understand. it's your ipod, and you can plug whatever you like in it.
    me, i personally like to use things the way they are intended, and unless there is a third party, informally endorsed version that does it better, i like to kee it in the family. the ipod is (as the rest of the apple family) an expression of style and a design statement. it's for the same reason i wouldn't want to have a black cord connecting my ears to my music - the white cord(s) are part of the (admittedly grandiose) ipod brand and culture. i don't only use mine in my living room, but for presentations in boardrooms too, and the entire package from my pocket is more impressive than an old lumpy laptop...
    it's personal preference. but IMHO, if you can spring for the apple AV's, i would do it...

  • Displaying items in a single line in ALV grid using  ALV_TOP_OF_PAGE.

    Hello Guys,
    I am having a problem in displaying items in a single line in the ALV Grid using event ALV_TOP_OF_PAGE.
    My requirement is to group items on a single line i.e. in the example below, Vendor code and posting date are on the same line. The next line the prints Vendor Name and Document no.
    Vendor Code: 123123                               Posting Date : 01.01.2011
    Vendor Name: ABCD                                 Document No: 152246598.
    Here is my code in subroutine 'ALV_TOP_OF_PAGE',
      wa_list_comments-typ = 'S'.
      wa_list_comments-key = ''.
      wa_list_comments-info = 'Vendor Code'.
      APPEND wa_list_comments TO it_list_comments.
      wa_list_comments-typ = 'S'.
      wa_list_comments-key = ''.
      wa_list_comments-info = 'Posting Date'.
      APPEND wa_list_comments TO it_list_comments.
    The above code prints in the following format i.e one below the other,
    Vendor Code: 123123
    Posting Date : 01.01.2011.
    I also tried using HTML_TOP_OF_PAGE, but it didn't work.
    Can anybody please help me out with this.
    Regards,
    Danish.

    Hi Danish,
    Your problem is with the alignment and you need some fix positions .
    The solution i feel is u can use as below :
    In CALL FUNCTION 'REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY'
    use
    i_callback_html_top_of_page       = 'HTML_TOP_OF_PAGE'.
    Now on calling routine call use cl_dd_document class :
    FORM html_top_of_page USING document TYPE REF TO cl_dd_document .
    data : doctable TYPE REF TO cl_dd_table_element,
              col1_t1 TYPE REF TO cl_dd_area,
              col2_t1 TYPE REF TO cl_dd_area,
              col1_t2 TYPE REF TO cl_dd_area,
              col2_t2 TYPE REF TO cl_dd_area.
    add quick table with five columns
        CALL METHOD lw_document->add_table
          EXPORTING
            no_of_columns               = 2
            border                      = '0'
         cell_background_transparent = ' '
            width                       = '100%'
          IMPORTING
            table                       = doctable.
    Filling columns in row
        CALL METHOD doctable->add_column
          EXPORTING
            width  = '40%'
          IMPORTING
            column = col1_t1.
    Filling columns in row
        CALL METHOD doctable->add_column
          EXPORTING
            width  = '60%'
          IMPORTING
            column = col2_t1.* Filling columns in row
    Call method doctable->new_row.
        CALL METHOD doctable->add_column
          EXPORTING
            width  = '40%'
          IMPORTING
            column = col1_t2.
    Filling columns in row
        CALL METHOD doctable->add_column
          EXPORTING
            width  = '60%'
          IMPORTING
            column = col2_t2.
    *Now adding the texts
    lw_text1 = 'your first text'
    CALL METHOD col1_t1->add_text
          EXPORTING
            text = lw_text.
    *Similarly add text for other columns
    *Adujust % in width to adjust the column as required
    Endform.
    Hope this will solve your problem .
