Display of Solution Manager file

Hi,
While I try to browse the solution manager file (.ssm) from the portal it displays the file in a XML format. Can anybody resolve the issue?

When you have a file inside the par-file (not inside the PORTAL-INF directory), then the url to this file is http://portal:50000/irj/portalapps/par-file-name/filename
Example:
com.test.par contains /test/testfile.txt
then url is http://portal:50000/irj/portalapps/com.test/test/testfile.txt
In SAP Developer studio project, these files are located in the /dist direcotry in the project.
If you want to have the file in the PORTAL-INF directory, you can code portal component, which returns the file as content.

  • Error opening a Test Script inUFT from Solution Manager

    This error is the subject of a call with SAP and HP but I wondered if anyone else has come across this problem.
    We work with Solution Manager 7.1 (SP11) and HP's UFT 11.53 to create automated testing. We ustilise the two free seat licences for UFT that are provided via enterprise support. We do not use HP's Quality Centre.
    On some occasions when trying to open a test script for editing UFT tries to open and then closes again. The error message below is displayed in solution manager.
    “External Test Tool Quick Test Professional Is Busy and Cannot Create a New Test Script”
    When this happens the local cache files are wiped. We have managed to salvage some of these scripts by pasting in copies of the cache file from another PC but some we had to recreate from scratch.

    If you don't have one already create a gateway instance on your Content Server.
    Change or create the RFC destination :  SAPKPROTP   type = T
    Check the radio button to start on Expicit Host 
    Enter the program = c:\winnt\sapkprotp.exe
    Enter target  host - use the hostname of the server for your Content Server
    Enter the Gateway information

    1.Do i need to configure the CCMS_OnAlert_Email, for every alert that you have, in the satellite system?
    Best thing I would say is to copy method ( RZ21 --> Method --> Method definition )CCMS_OnAlert_Email to Z_CCMS_OnAlert_Email in Solman and assign this auto reaction to  MTE class of satellite systems.
    2. How do i configure this out of solution manager, and bypassing the satellite system?
    You have to install/configure sapccm4x( for monitoring abap ) on satellite systems by giving details about Solution manager. Then the alert will be sent to Solution manager from satellite system and the configured auto reaction will send mails .

  • Solution manager 7.1 - AS Java - no page displayed after login

    Hello friends,
    I am facing a strange issue in our solution manager system wherein the startpage is displayed (http://<hostname>:50000) but no page is displayed after login. User credentials are accepted (Username/Password invalid dialogue is not displayed) but the page simply returns to the login screen.
    I also tried enabling the SAP* user in Java stack but the same behaviour is observed while logging in using SAP* as well.
    The UME configuration is correct as I tried resetting the J2ee_admin user in the ABAP stack and then tried logging in to to Java. The password change screen was displayed but once I login the page is not re-directed. I am also not able to login to the visual admin.
    Could you please advise how to go ahead with the troubleshooting of this issue at the earliest ?

  • SAP GUI 7.10 - Issue reading files from Solution Manager

    Hi everyone,
    We have just installed SAP GUI 7.10 on our PC and have tried to open documents from Solution Manager.
    On both Display and Change mode we are getting "The document cannot be displayed" (SOLAR_DOC021)
    Can you suggest anything regarding the source of the problem? Any quick resolution?

    Gateway component (SAP GW CORE 200 SP10) was installed without any problems.
    But I need to install UI-add-on (NW UI Extensions v1.0) and when I try to install it via SAINT, transaction said me that I need to generate xml-file for it (as in General notes for UI add-on mentioned).
    But I have Solution Manager 7.0.1 and in MOPZ for this version I do not have option  "install Add-on" as it written in Guide for ui add-on installation.
    Could you please help me with advice how to generate xml-file for UI add-on installation on SolMan v.7.0.1?
    If where is no way, but only to upgrade Solution Manager, maybe somebody could give me xml-file for your system (for NW 731) and I will change it to my needs, I will be very grateful!

  • MOPZ has issues calculating stack XML file in SOLUTION MANAGER

    Hello,
    We have a SOLUTION MANAGER system on NW 7.0 EHP1 SP stack level at initial support stack (ISS).
    Recently we upgraded all our R/3 systems to ECC6.0 EHP4 SPS04 and now we are trying to upgrade the stack level to EHP4 SPS07. So we are trying to get a XML file from MOPZ but no luck.
    The backend system has all the correct data updated in SMSY and all looks fine but while we try to calculate the stack for EHP4 SPS07 it ends with error like below mentioned.
    Please look into the errors and throw some light if anyone has come across the same.

    We have maintained the "system description" info for our satellite systems in SMSY:

    Is there any way to display this info in the Solution Manager monitoring info?? Without this description text and only with system "SID" info it is very difficult for our IT Managers to identify each system...
    For example, in the monitoring Work Center (System Status tab), is there any way to add the "system description" as a column? We didn't find it any way to insert it...

  • Solution Manager Diagnostics don't display data

    Hi,
    I'm setting up Solution Manager Diagnostics at Solution Manager SP 22. I've installed Wily Introscope Enterpise Manager at Solution Manager Server, and Wily Introscope Agents at Solution Manager and Satellite systems as well.
    Wily Introscope is working properly, I receive statistics from all agents, and also I can see most of the graphics. BUT, after I install SMD Agent, I can't receive any data in Root Cause Analysis Workcenter ->  End-To-End Analysis -> system -> Workload Analysis.
    Here I can see a plot with all values at 0. If I try Enterprise Portal tab -> Portal Activity Reporting, I don't have any data.
    At Aplication Server Java tab -> J2EE Engine, I only can see forms like:
         E2E CV PPMS ID Variable 
         E2E Installation Number Variable       
         E2E SID Variable       <SID>         <SID>
         E2E Metric Type Variable(multiple values)

    I've also followed SAPNote 1435043 - E2E Workload Analysis - No applicable data found, and checked prerequisites, RFC's, Jobs, Extractors and executed SOLMAN_SETUP transaction.
    I've followed all guides I've found for Diagnostics, but I don't know how can I solve this.

    I have exactly the same problem, I am on Solman SPS22, LMSERVICE SP06 patch2.
    and the satellite system pre-requisites and definition in SMSY are correct, also the MDX PARSER RFC is wrking fine.
    any idea on why is the Portal activity reporing is blank, while i get data under all the other tabs.
    Also, the agent application .log file shows the below warning
    "PadcService@1cbd1cbd: file portalActivity_6057051_1278074505498.txt could not be deleted"
    but i could not find the file in the satellite system.

  • Solution Manager 4, kernel 7 sap env file problem

    Hi,
    I am trying to install Solution Manager 4 SR3 on a test box and I have finalized the install parameters and its now installing. It has come to step 2 where it is complaining that it is not able to create a file called .sapenv_<hostname>.sh. My checks so far have found out that the group owner of the directories was 32, which i changed to dba group from ./<DB_SID> upwards (/oracle/<SID>) but i still get the error message. The message is as follows:
    FSL-00001  System call failed. Error 13 (Permission denied) in execution of system call 'openU' with parameter (/oracle/SMP/.sapenv_sapraop.2.sh, O_WRONLY | O_TRUNC | O_CREAT, S_IRWXU | S_IRWXG | S_IRWXO), line (413) in file (syuxcfile.cpp).
    Anyone have any ideas where i need to change permissions as it seems it is the case. The permissions are ok for ora<SID> in /oracle/<DB_SID> but unsure why this is the case.

    Hi,
    I am not sure how i did it as it has been a while but we had a problem where the home directory for ora<SID> and <SID>adm were mapped wrong. What was happening was all the files were being created and written under a single location which is why we had a problem with permissions. Later on we had to move all the files manually to the correct location.
    My best bet would be to check and make sure the home directory for the 2 user ID's above are correct. I am a bit busy at the moment but if this doesn't solve your problem then let me know and i will see if i have made any notes on this.

  • Consumption of a lot of page file space with Solution Manager over windows

    HI guys,
    I have installed Solution Manager 4.0 SP10 over Windows 2003 Server, Standard Edition. The server has 4 Gb of RAM and 10Gb of page file.
    Before to start Solution Manager the memory used is 500Mb and the used page file is 1Gbytes, but when I start Solman, the memory used grow up to 3.8 Gbytes and the pagefile to 7Gbytes.
    Is this behaviour normal?, should I need near to 8Gb to run SolMan in memory?
    does someone experience or tips regarding this is issue?

    All SAP guides talk about aprox. 10Gb in Win and aprox. 20Gb (max.) in Unix.
    You are right (also....;-)   ), but my question is regarding the consumption of this page file, for example, we have XI 3.0 installed in AIX (ABAP+JAVA like Solman), and we have 8 Gbytes of RAM installed, in scenario we have in average 1.5Gbytes of free memory and not swap space used, that means in average XI use 6,5 Gbytes of memory (including DB instance, oracle 9.2), with at least 15 users connected, in contrast Solman has only one user connected and only 6 dialog wp and use almost 10Gbytes (adding RAM and SWAP space).
    Is normal that Solman 4.0 need so much memory to run?
    Do you know some way to decrease the swap consumption?.....
    I know, I know.......I'm asking almost for magic solutions......  

  • Required "/" (root) file system size on UNIX for Solution Manager.

    Hello SAP Gurus,
       I am setting up SAP Solution Manager 3.2 on HP-UX. It is asking me about 350MB free sapce on "/" file system for Central Instance installation and about 120MB free sapce on "/" file system for Database Instance installation.
       I am installaing everything on to shared disk which mounted under /usr/sap. Why it needs free sapce in "/" file system. Is there any workaround to get rid of this requirement, as I have very less free sapce on "/" file system and I don't want to take the risks involved in increasing this size.
       Are there any SAP recommended sizes for "/" file system?
       I stuck in the middle of setting up SAP landscape on HP-UX (11.23). I searched through the Installation documents but I couldn't find any thing helpful in this regard. It is urgent requirement to set up this so please let me know any solution or workaround ASAP.
       Any help is greatly appriciated.

    Normally "canonical path not available for (folder name)" means:
    1. Wrong username/password. Please double check you credentials.
    2. The resource cannot be linked from the portal server. Please be sure that you can connect to the next ports in windows server from the Unix Server:
    a. NetBIOS Session Service TCP 139 This port is used to connect file shares for example.
    b. TCP 445 The SMB (Server Message Block) protocol is used among other things for file sharing in Windows NT/2000/XP. In windows NT it ran on top of NetBT (NetBIOS over TCP/IP), which used the famous ports 137, 138 (UDP) and 139 (TCP). In Windows 2000/XP/2003, Microsoft added the possibility to run SMB directly over TCP/IP, without the extra layer of NetBT. For this they use TCP port 445.

  • Solution Manager 3.2 Displays XML Source

    Hello,
    we are about to setup the system landscape.
    In transaction smsy -> overview -> server -> service contract
    the sap gui displays no graphical components.
    it just shows the embeded xml code of the page.
    i'm not sure if its an internet explorer (we use version 6.0.28) or solution manager problem.

    Hi:
    Have you confirmed that the WAS is running?
    You get the logon screen when selecting that option?
    There are several BSP that needs to be activated from SICF in order to enable some features. You can refer to the installation guide.
