Display on screen scratched on the inside?

My MacBook pro (13 inch retina) is currently experiencing severe issues with the display. There seems to be what looks like a fine, white horizontal scratch on the bottom left of the screen, yet there is no visible external scratch. The issue has caused a large flickering vertical black bar (similar to dead pixels) on the left side of the screen. There are thin purple and blue lines inside the bar. I don't know what could have caused this, as I have not spilled, dropped, knocked, or harmed the computer in anyway. The one year warranty is still valid, but Im scared that when I take it to get looked at they'll pass it off as "accidental damage" and thus void of the warranty. Suggestions?

There are thin purple and blue lines inside the bar.
That indicates your LCD is destroyed, there is no repairing that and any scratch would make no difference in such a case where the LCD is destroyed.
At some point in some manner the interior LCD has taken a physical stress causing a LCD "bleed"
Contact Apple, your entire monitor must be replaced.

Thanks you. Problem is solved. The cable wasn't plugged in properly.
In spite of video rendering smoothly, audio started coming only when I disconnected the cable and plugged it in hard.
Perhaps I was pampering my phone too much

My iPhone 4s screen craked on the inside .

Im not really sure how it all happened i got out of my car and i put my keys in my poket, the same poket as the iPhone normaly i never cary anything else in my poket but my iphone everything else in the other one, So as soon as i remmembered that i put the keys in the same poket i took out my phone to see if there was any scrashes but it was works there was a crack inside the phone not on the outside but inside the display. I just bought the phone a little less then a month ago. i bought it a telcel retail store and there is no apple retail store to take it for the warranty what should i do ?

How to display different screens when starting the Webdynpro app?

Hi All,
When user starting up the Webdynpro app, it will first check some value in the persistent layer. If the check result is ok, it will show the normal app screen to the user; if the check failed, it will show the error screen.
Now I write the check function in the view controller, But I think it is not a good approach, because there are some initialize code in the component controller, so before my check function reached, the server will waste some resource to execute the initialize code in the component controller.
Would anyone give me some hints on how to move the check function to component controller and then display the different screen to the end-user?

IPhoto "edit" mode displays white screen instead of the photo

When I double click to edit, crop, etc. a photo the image doesn't display. Instead a white box is displayed where the larger version of the photo should be. If I click Effects it displays the correct image in the previews but still nothing but white.
Anyone have an idea how to fix this? I have only had iLife 09 on my mac for about a week and already hit this bug.

Take a look at this topic at MacOSXHints: iPhoto 8.0 and photo editing on certain older Macs. It says that the graphic card may be the cause for some users. It needs to support Quartz Extreme (QE) compatible graphics.

Macbook pro retina display broken screen?

My one week old Macbook pro retina display 13 inch slipped from the bed earlier and I'm not sure what happened but I think the screen broke from the inside? -look at the pictures attached-
I bought it from Oman, in the middle east. And I'm moving to Rochester, New York in two weeks so I've decided to fix it there.
Would this be covered under warranty or will I have to pay? And how much would it cost to get this fixed?

Accidental damage is not covered. Maybe your home owner / renters insurance would cover it?

How do I get my contact's photos to display full screen for incoming calls?

I noticed today that when I get an incoming call it no longer displays "full screen". I keep missing calls because it now only displays as a banner at the top of the screen that someone is calling and their photo (if I've assigned one to them) is a tiny thumbnail.
Did I only just notice now that this is another 'great upgrade' with the new IOS, or is this some weird glitch with my phone? I've been wondering how I've been missing calls in the past week, but just happened to catch it today after I had been using the new map app and wasn't sure if it was just a coincidence or if it's somehow connected..?
Is there any way to change this or am I stuck with it this way??

I've never added my contact on my computer, I've always done it through my phone (I didn't know you could do it through the computer). The problem is not the photo, it's that the call doesn't come in and take up the full screen. Now when a call comes in, it displays as a banner at the top of the phone where the time and date normally would be, so I don't notice anyone's phoning.
As far as I can recall, it's only started happening since yesterday after I used the new map app. I've checked my notifications settings and the phone settings and so far as I can see, everything is set the same way it always was. I checked my hubby's phone to see if it's maybe something new since this last update to IOS6, but the call displays full screen (regardless whether the contact has a photo associated to it or not) and not a banner at the top of the screen like mine.
I still don't know how to change this back. Any other suggestions?

Acrobat Pro XI v.11.0.06 - PDF created by Microstation Print Organizer - Windows 7 - Printing shaded squares on top of shaded building and not displayed on screen, only displays on paper when printing

I have attached an image of the sheet to show the areas that are shaded. The building is supposed to be shaded, however the two squares within are not. These squares are not in the file converted to pdf and do not display on screen when viewing the pdf. Also there are several sheets in the set with shaded buildings and only two of the buildings have this issue. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

I'm seeing this same problem happen on multiple platforms here in the office. Every time this happens, the screen view does not show these shapes. I have been seeing the same problem except linework will be missing in one of these square shapes as well. Please give feedback if anyone knows what causes this problem. One thing to note - these squares are the size and placement of a selection box within acrobat. For example, if i use the selection tool and click near where the problem printed out, the shaded area that gets selected is in the exact same spot and is the exact size.@

Thank you. I did contact Apple Norway and they already raised a case no based on which I shall go and hand over my mac pro retina 13inch. As per Apple Norway, as the case has been registered before the expiry of the warranty, Apple India to accept the warranty as well and get the set repaired under warranty. Thank you.

Dust marks on the 'inside' of display

I have had my 24" iMac for just under a year. 3 months ago, I noticed strange dust-like marks on the inside of my display. They are definitely on the inside because i tried cleaning the display and they did not go away.
This suggests that the iMac is not air-tight, which is not really a good sign. Now I am left with these annoying marks.
It is not the end of the world - but disappointing seeing as it is not even a year old.
Can anyone suggest what I should do to fix this problem? Any help appreciated.

I would do it myself since it's me, as I don't trust Apple technicians to do any sort of cleaning. Everytime I took an Apple product in to the Apple Store for repairs for example, they always wind up back dirty, tons of scratches, fingerprints, etc.
Just don't use a toilet plunger or high adhesive tape, go with one or two small sized suction cups, a pair of latex gloves, and some preferably brand new microfiber cloths. Some compressed air would be a good idea as well.
Course if you don't feel comfortable about taking the glass screen apart, I would hand it over Apple. Just tell them you don't want any fingerprints or more dust in there than there already is.

Firefox 4 displays closing CDATA tag ]] on the screen for object tag

With the recent Firefox 4 version. I am facing following problems with the website I am developing:
1. For svg objects inside html page with Firefox 4 it now displays closing CDATA tag on the screen.
It only displays ]]> on the screen.
I have object specified using

2. When the svg is added using div tags it doesn't display on the screen if the width is more than browser width. It was working on Firefox 3.6 but have stopped working with 4. We had a overflow specified with scrolling effect on the screen if user wants to view next section.

Screen in the ipad 2 is not working but not warranty because of scratches in the back?

I recently bought an Ipad 2 with apple care, suddenly few days ago the screen stopped working. I reset, restored everything with no success.
After speaking with the customer support over the phone several times (almost 100$ in phone bill!!!) they told me that I could not substitute the product within the due warranty because of some scratches in the back of the devices.
Although they realized that the scratches have nothing to do with the screen issue, they said that these scratches are categorized as "accidental damages" and therefore the warranty doesn't cover that!
I tried to explain that I don't care if my Ipad as some scratches and i don't want that to be covered, I only want the screen to be working and this is an obvious problem of manifacturing!
Bottom line they are now asking 500$ in order to change my 3 weeks old IPAD 2 malfunctioning only because the external part has got some scratches!
Is this standard?

Restart your device
Hold the On/Off button until "slider to power off" appears. Slide to power off your device. When it is off, press the On/Off button to turn it back on.

Clean the screen with a soft, slightly damp, lint-free cloth.

I would appreciate to receive your experiences and tipps how to remove fine scratches off the I pad retina display without harming its surface ! Thx

Apple Stores sell a good screen cleaner which I would recommend for cleaning screens - it works well and doesn't do any damage. This might clean away a lot of what you see as fine scratches.
Other than this, I would stay away from anything else as you may well do a lot more harm than good.
