Hi
I'd like to display portions of text which cycles to the next
one every few
seconds.
I've found a perfect example of what I'm after here...

On the top right of the page is an area showing client
testimonials which
changes approx every 5 seconds.
It appears to fade out and then fade in the next. Is that so
or is it just
an optical illusion?
I'd be grateful if anyone could point me in the right
direction on how to
achieve this and/or where I can find a script?

Why is my 24-inch LED display flashing black (and sometimes scrambles) every few seconds?
I have recently upgraded to a new iMac: 3.4 GHz Intel Core i7. 4 GB 1333 MHz DDr3. AMD Radeon HD 6970M. 1024 MB. Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4. I have it attached to a 24-inch Cinema Display.
Before I switched to my new iMac, it would blink black a couple of times a day. This was going on for a LONG time, but was not a big deal. However, now that I have switched to the new iMac, it is every few seconds. And it has now added the "scrambled" screen to it's repertoire. Fun. And, as I am typing this...it just went black and has not come back on.
I've read a few threads on this happening, but haven't found any substantial evidence as to what is causing this. It's beyond annoying. Has anyone learned anything new?Okay. Murphy's Law. As soon as I posted this, I found an answer (hopefully!). My situation fit the criteria at http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4045?viewlocale=en_US and I installed the update and so far, so good. I'll keep you posted.

Change Desktop picture every 5 seconds?
What is the opinion of the learned on setting the desktop picture in "Desktop and Screensaver" System Prefs to change the picture every 5 seconds? Is this a bad idea, and if so why? I cannot find anything from Apple that discourages doing it and obviously they make it available for the user to set the Pref such that you can do it. TIA
I suppose, but it does not decrease the performance that I can tell. I am sure it would if I were to measure it. That System Preference is stock with that computer (Panther 10.3.9).

After changing my e-mail address, two iCloud accounts were created, my iphone is unusable due to password requests every few seconds and my iCloud account has been blocked. What can I do?
So, you are saying that you set up a brand new Apple ID and then signed into iCloud with it, correct?
Are you also saying both accounts are disabled for Security reasons? If not, why can't you sign on with the one that is not disabled?

Scrollng text jumps every few seconds.
Using FCP6.2 and doing my end credits in a HDV1080i50 project and the text scrolls with the a jump in the text every few seconds. If I single step through it on the timeline it's fine. I'm scrolling 95 lines of text in the Charcol font over 65 seconds, so plenty of time for it to smooth out the scroll.
Any reason why FCP can't scroll text smoothly?
KevinThis is with the Boris plugin or the Text tool's scrolling text... probably the latter... try the former instead it's in the Boris submenu found in that same generator button you're accessing for the text tools...

Macbook pro Display freezes and darkens every few seconds
Hey ,
I just bought my Macbook pro 15 inch late 2013 few months ago , I'm new to Apple products ,
My screen started freezing and darkening every 4 seconds , starting from when I power it , until I shut it down even If I don'tt run any programs
I can't move the cursor while it's freezing or do anything , but for example If I write any text , the text will show up when it unfreezes , and If I'm listening to music the sound doesn't freeze . I tried the safe mode , and reseting the PRAM and NVRAM , running disk utility in single user mode and said that everything is fine , I checked my hardware using apple hardware test and also said that everything is fine , I removed the flash player thinking that it may be the problem but nothing changed . I don't know what I'm doing because as I said I'm new to all of this but I tried random things and nothing seems to work , I would really appreciate any help .
PS. when I tried taking a screenshot of the screen when it freezes and darkens a little , it appeared normal in the screenshot .

If not, connect and power up the projector, the power up MBP.
The monitor itself could be on the way out, is there another monitor you can check it on.
Another thing you can try is a VGA cable with the DVI adapter and see if that performs better.
You can also try a different cable, since it worked fine in the past, I'm just trying to help you.

Hi All,
I'm opening a retail store and we're using 30 inch cinema displays for our menu boards. I'd like to use OS X's built-in "change desktop picture" to display our image, but would like it to change images every 1 second instead of 5.
Is there a way to modify the OS to do this?

Inside this file, there will be two or more instances of ChangeTime; change the number associated with all instances of this key to 1.

Small changes in colors every few minutes
Hi,
I am using my LED for nearly a week with my 13" macbook and I am noticing tonight a slight "flickring" of the screen's color.
It goes totally bright (as it should) and it changes to a less brighter, more warm color, then back to bright, over and over again after a few seconds.
Is this something that someone else has noticed? What could I do to see what's wrong?
I am really scared to even take it to my country's Apple authorized service, they keep it for a month or so, at least.

Same problem over here. At first I thought I was getting tired but today (in the morning) I see it very clearly. This is starting now after a month of usage. In a blink of an eye my screen turns reddish or blueish than returns back to normal. If you search for this issue on the internet you find many more people complaining about this. Some people report that the problem occurs when the display is set to 100% brightness and used for more than a couple of hours. I realize that my display was at 100% brightness as well. So now I am reducing the brightness to 80% to see if the problem goes away. -
Changing background picture every 5 seconds.....having issues
When I switch the background picture to change every 5 seconds my computer either freezes, runs slow, doesn't work normal (if I open another application it won't be functional). I have 1gb of ram (came with the computer) so I'm not sure if this is where the problem stems from.
If I set it to change the picture ever minute then I don't have any problems.
Any help is greatly appreciated.Although unlimited it is limited to 300Gb download+upload.
Is it at all possible that you have maxed out your download cap. You therefore will have reduced speed during peak times.
Does not explaine your speedtest results out side of that.
You have checked all your equipment and tested on the your test socket and changed filters etc.
If all of this is done and it's still the same, sadly a call to support will need to be made so they can investigate further.

Preloader that changes external swfs every 5 seconds

I've done an web banner in flash that loads an external swf
and changes for another external swf after 5 seconds. The banner
have a preloader, but the problem becomes when it loads the first
time. As the swfs aren't cached in the browser's cache yet, the
time for 5 seconds starts to count from the preloader, and when the
external swf finally shows, only rest 1 second and it is changed to
another. There is a way to "freeze" the time for each external swf
until it totally loads?

Open the fla and preview the file with bandwidth preview (
Crtl+Enter twice ). You will note that the third banner
(caparao.swf) start to loads but it don't shows at all because the
loading for a slow internet (56K) takes more than 5 seconds. So the
loader skip to the next banner. Is there a way to "freeze" the time
for the preloader (to give it enough time to the banner load
completely, even in slow connections) and count the 5 seconds only
to the banner itself?

Must click on display every few seconds to activate
I have three MAC machines that have the same problem. When I open an application (any application) the screen is active only for a few seconds (about 7 seconds). The pull down menus disappear and I can no longer type text (I hear a ding). I must click on the on the display (anywhere) to continue typing or view the pull down menu. Any ideas on how to fix this
YES!!!!!! After many hours on the phone with apple (very god customer service, those guys really wanted to help) we determined that the keyboard was the defective. They gave me a replacement at no cost and now my computer works perfect once again. One of the indicators that it was the keyboard was that i couldn't make an upper case e using the shift button. By opening opening up Mac OS X Utillities and having me type in the onlline help section we saw the problem persited and they were able to dertime that it was a hardware problem and not the software, from there all it was was a quick trip to the apple store. Good luck i hope my experiance was helpful.

Not waking up from sleep-flashes lighted keyboard and screen, and I cannot unlock the padlocks in the system to change settings, look at keychain, etc.

I can't reinstall ML, nor can I create another user (unless I use Terminal, and I'm a novice at best with Terminal).

HDMI Audio Output via Mini Display Port to Sharp Aquos TV cuts out every 10 seconds
I haven't had an issue til I recently did a software update to my Mac Pro.
I have two mini-display ports on the back of my machine but always have been able to listen to audio from the HDMI connection without an issue. Anyone else having this issue? I checked and reset all the setting on my Television and get prompted that a icompatible PCMI audio signal is being recieved.

Safari 5.1.7 Bookmarks - adding or changing hangs for a few seconds
Hello all -
Safari 5.1.7 - osx 10.7.4 - MBA
Safari hangs when adding a bookmark or deleting/changing order/moving to new folders etc.
Hangs for about 5 seconds and then completes the task.
It will do the first change just fine, then any further bookmarks adds/changes will hang the browser.
I've tried all the suggested steps, clear cache, reset etc.
Problem comes right back.
Suggestions?
