Display Problem - Has this happened to you?
Well, I have the new 3rd gen 8GB iPod nano. About 4 days ago, I noticed that when I turn on my iPod and highlight 'Music' in the first Menu, it doesn't display the album artwork like its soppose to, it shows 794 songs. Also does this with Movies and Podcasts. However, it does show pictures like its soppose to when I scroll to and highlight 'Photos'. How ever, when im playing music, it displays 1 of 784. So, im missing like 10 tracks. Im afraid something is wrong with my iPod and I still dont know how to fix this problem. I havn't modified the settings/firmware/software in any way. I have the most updated version of the iPod update. Has this happened to you?
Try the following :-
1, Make sure you don't have the hold switch in the locked position (so you can operate the ipod buttons).
2. Press and hold the centre and menu button at the same time, keep them pressed until you see the Apple logo appear on the screen, then release the buttons.
This will reset your iPod, it will NOT erase any of the contents of the iPod.

I can hear a person on my mac has this happened to YOU?
Ok this is really strange but 3 days ago I was sitting at my imac typing away in word for mac when all of a sudden I could hear someone (like a but dial on a cell phone) I listened for a bit and started yelling "HELLO" but they could not hear me the only program that was running at the time was finder and word for mac. I called Apple tech and talked to a tech who told me he had never heard of something like this happening before. We were on the phone for about 30 minutes all the while the person I heard was still on my imac. I could hear cars racing by like their window was open and the sound was VERY clear. Funny thing is I live in the country and my road is silent during the day other than the occasional mower noise. I could also tell that they had hardwood floors because every now and again they would walk across the floor and then bang something on a desk or counter or something. I kept hoping the phone would ring so I could hear a voice or name so I could tell them my imac could hear them.. (it was like a baby monitor was built into my mac) ... they never answered the phone as it never rang, but I could hear them turning pages, sighing and breathing....
It was creapy. I called my daughter as she is a mac techy type and let her listen to it and she couldnt figure it out. The Apple guy could hear it but not figure it out. I called a friend who has an imac to see if she had ever experienced this and still no answer. Now today it did it again, and as I am typing this I can hear this person walking around, cars moving by the open window at fast speeds, turning pages, sighing, breathing and banging on a surface of some sort. It has been on today about 4 hours and now is sort of creapy and annoying at the same time. Anyone EVER had anything like this happen? It starts out of the blue and I can reboot and it is still there... but it stops as mysteriously as it started, yet sounds like they may be near a laptop because I hear a click like the top of a laptop being closed then they are gone. WEIRD....
Someone has to have experienced this before, but I have searched the net thinking someone would say something but I find nothing no matter how I word my search.
Anyway, any suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated.

Ipad 3 (1 in home)
Ipad 2 (3 in home)
Iphone 4s (3 in home)
Apple TV (4 in home)
Mackbook pro (2 in home)

I changed the frequency of the wireless router with the Apple tech to no avail and we changed it a few times.

Surprisingly the sound was not affected by the volume controls and the weird thing is I even tried playing an Itunes music track to overide the sound that was being made and it was playing but I could not hear it ... it was like this thing just toook over my mac. I could not hear the music and going to youtube same results could see it playing but no sound other than the creapy breathing. -
Sales of my books averaged over 270 per month for almost all of 2011 and 2012 and for January of 2013--then in February of 2013 and continuing to the present, sales dropped to less than 70 per month.
The sudden drop from over 270 per month to less than 70 per month with sales suddenly falling off the fiscal cliff in Februrary of 2013 is inexplicable. I can find no reason for it.
Therefore, I am asking other authors: Has this happened to you? Any idea of what changed? I presume something must have changed within the itunes bookstore, or there was a change in the listing of my books.In additon to this forum, we contacted Apple Ibookstore support and this afternoon they may have provided the explantion:
According to Apple:
"iBookstore that change frequently including top charts and any featured placement sections (IE: New and Noteworthy sand other special or seasonal sections). All featured placement is solely at the discretion of Apple and isn't guaranteed. If your book was in one of these prominent sections or top charts before and is no longer there, this might be what you are noticing in your numbers."
Fortunately for us, our authors probably got us featured placement for 2 years. Unfortunately for us, after 2 years it appears we were shoved aside for another pretty face. Thus, book sales imploded.
We thank Apple for answering our inquiries and providing us with useful information as to how to (hopefully) drive sales back up. -
My imac (Intel) display is frozen. Both the mouse and the network are working. I've shut down various times, pulled the cord from the receptacle on the power strip, and restarted several times. No luck. Has anyone had problems like this and were you successful at fixing it? Thanks. Would appreciate any help. Paula
Same problem, but a c.2009 iMac running OS X 10.9.1. Just happened overnight. Presently, I'm able to access my HD via wireless via laptop and copying all non-backed up files to an external drive. So far, Paula is the only other person I've found with this same problem and hers was three years ago! Going to keep searching for an answer.

I am using My Photo Stream on my iPhone and on my iPad. Much to my surprise, I noticed that many of my pictures on my iPad have disappeared ( iPhone shows 990 - iPad shows 90 only !!!! ) Has this happened to anyone else ????? What is the problem ???
Welcome to the Apple Community.
Photostream in the cloud only keeps photos from the last 30 days (subject to a 1,000 photo limit). When photostream syncs the photos to your device they will stay there (subject to a 1,000 photo limit) until deleted, which means you may well have more photos in your photostream album on your device than there are in photostream in the cloud.
The consequence of this is that if you turn photostream off and on again on your device (or enable it for the first time), it will only be populated with photos from the last 30 days, which may not be all the photos that were previously in the photostream album on that device. -
My phone doesn't have any cellular phone functions...but it CAN send text messages and access data. Has this happened to anyone else? I've gone through three Samsung Galaxy S5's in the past three days, the last two have this problem and the first stopped working all together. I've had new sim cards put in, ive done hard resets on the phone, i've rebooted the phone, done battery pulls, and tech support has reset the signal to my phone. Nothing has worked. (I just "upgraded" <- lol.... and my old phone IS turned off.)
Im in 79707. So to recap my whole case: I upgraded my device using the verizon wireless website. I received my phone and switched my old SIM card from my Droid Razr Maxx HD into the new Galaxy S5. Everything worked fine until the next morning (May 31st) when I woke up and the phone wouldn't turn on. I took the phone to the local Verizon store and they were also unable to turn it on. They issued me a new Galaxy S5 (referred to as phone 2) and switched my SIM card into that one.
With PHONE 2 i was able to make calls and receive calls, along with text and data for approximately four hours. After that, i was unable to use the phone function of the device, but text and data were still functioning. I took PHONE 2 back to the Verizon store where they attempted to hard reset the phone twice, they also installed two new SIM cards at the store. After this they would get the same error, which is the phone just reading "Dialing..." after attempting to make a call. The Verizon associate declared the phone "DOA" and issued me another Galaxy S5 (referred to as PHONE 3).
PHONE 3 worked well, with phone text and data featured intact from when I received it on the after noon of the 31st until approximately 2:30PM on June 1st. I contacted Verizon Tech Support via Gmail phone to attempt the correct the problem. They reset the connection, had me do a battery pull, had me close the "phone" application, and erase the data and catche, then restart the phone. All of which had no effect. My phone is still able to receive texts and use data (even with wifi off) it simply cannot make or take phone calls. all it says is "dialing..." when I attempt to make a call. When other phones call my device it rings once on their end and directs them to voicemail, PHONE 3 does not ring on my end.
I have made sure my old phone is completely powered down. -
Has anyone experienced the iphone 4s camera panorama failure where the panorama stops after taking only one 'non panoramic shot? I think this happens when you switch direction of the panoramic arrow.
Sounds like you have a battry issue but don't want to believe it.
If a car was running fine on one tank of gas, then you filled it up with another tank of gas and it began to run funny, one might suspect that tank of gas. But let's just say coincidence blew a valve-- would you think the new tank of gas was the culprit?
BUT WAIT!! It just might have been! The gas could have been of higher octane and put more more strain on the valves; you know, like going from 87 octane (OS6) to 93 octane (OS7) and showing you the engine was on the edge of compromise.
Sometimes you have to go with common sense. If everything else is ruled out, it must be the battery. And if it runs fine one moment in OS6 but immediately ***** in OS7, I'd believe my battery was suspect-- though comfy-- in OS6 but the OS7 showed its true power.
Moreover, if you had the answer-- or didn't want to believe someone's more competent advice-- why did you even call? You've already shown that you don't know much when you asked if you could go backwards after setting up the new OS as a new phone.
Additonally, if you're such the know-it-all, but yourself the $29 battery and put it in yourself. It's a piece of cake.

I wanted to put my Camera chip inside my computer...I was looking and put it in the DVD Slot...Now I cannot remove it...Has this happened to anyone? If so how did you remove the chip? Thank you.

When I'm composing emails a dialog box keeps popping up asking me to click "resend" to reload my email. If I don't I get timed out. This problem has only happened after I installed update 3.6.16
FYI I am referring to my ISP email on the providor's website, although I have not tried opening other email accounts on the updated Firefox.etresoft a long time contributer to Apple Support Communities wrote a very useful app he called etrecheck which helps in diagnosing many problems caused by third party installs etc.. Go to his website, read his information and from there download and run the program according to his instructions

The only way to fix this, is if you use a manual proxy configuration in Firefox. So all 100 + uni iMac's can only use Safari as I would need to do a profile push to all 300 students and I am unsure what file carries the proxy information.

Is there any easier way to edit imovie files that have been exported as mov file then added to FCE 4?? As every move I make has to be rendered and takes forever??? Also my recording is going out of focus without me touching the camera, why has this happened any idea what causes this??
iMovie '08, Mac OS X (10.5.8), FCE 4My daughter has had her Razr for about 9 months now. About two weeks ago she picked up her phone in the morning on her way to school when she noticed two cracks, both starting at the camera lens. One goes completely to the bottom and the other goes sharply to the side. She has never dropped it and me and my husband went over it with a fine tooth comb. We looked under a magnifying glass and could no find any reason for the glass to crack. Not one ding, scratch or bang. Our daughter really takes good care of her stuff, but we still wanted to make sure before we sent it in for repairs. Well we did and we got a reply from Motorola with a picture of the cracks saying this was customer abuse and that it is not covered under warranty. Even though they did not find any physical damage to back it up. Well I e-mailed them back and told them I did a little research and found pages of people having the same problems. Well I did not hear from them until I received a notice from Fed Ex that they were sending the phone back. NOT FIXED!!! I went to look up why and guess what there is no case open any more for the phone. It has been wiped clean. I put in the RMA # it comes back not found, I put in the ID #, the SN# and all comes back not found. Yet a day earlier all the info was there. I know there is a lot more people like me and all of you, but they just don't want to be bothered so they pay to have it fix, just to have it do it again. Unless they have found the problem and only fixing it on a customer pay only set up. I am furious and will not be recommending this phone to anyone. And to think I was considering this phone for my next up grade! NOT!!!!

I recently installed Mavericks on this iMac and upgraded to Adobe Cloud 2014 now InDesign CC 2014 fails to launch and I get a crash report. Has this happened to anyone else?
It isn't happening to everyone else, but if there was a trend of it happening to a lot of people, that would probably show up in the official InDesign user forum. But there aren't a lot of crash reports there, so it isn't something that's happening to everyone. There are a couple, so you might look at those. But since there is not a huge wave of crash reports, the problem might be more related to a problem on the system rather than a problem with InDesign, like a corrupted font.
The best place to troubleshoot is probably over at the Adobe forum since the users there know InDesign very well. -

The sheet I am working on has lost the ability for me to scroll to the first few columns. I can't see the columns A & B but if I cut and paste the table to a new sheet, the columns I am missing will travel to the new sheet. I have charts and other stuff related the the original table so I need to figure out why I can only see from column C forward. I tried to "UNHIDE" the columns but the function doesn't seem to recognise that there are columns missing. Has this happened to others and how did you fix it?
I've seen it happen before, or at least it sounds something like what I've seen before. The table somehow gets into the margins of the page and the app doesn't know how to deal with it. Go into Print View and try moving the table away from the left side ofthe page. You might have to change content size or resize the table to get it to correct (then put you can put them back the way you like).

My "Apple TV" is hooked up via HDMI to my Marantz receiver. Everything works fine when watching movies. When trying to watch a show or listen to music, there is no sound. Has this happened to anyone else?
Perhaps you should ask over in the iPad community, you may get better answers there.

Lose table of contents in pdf?
