Display Process chain
Hi,
I'm looking for a transaction code to display Process chain without locking them.
Thanks.
Hi,
Why not create a custom transaction that has RSPCM, or RSPC or BWCCM as the backend transactions. In the authorization for the user change the activity type for the process chain to display only and put it in a new role. Also have the custom tcode attached to that role. You can see if that works.
Cheers,
Kedar

Hi, Where can I tell how long a Process Chain Ran? I see the RSPC tables, but nowhere can I see how long the chain ran for? Do I need to add up the duration of the individual steps? I'm in BW Version 3.5..
Thanks!Hi Sriram,
Could you please provide more details. In ST03N, it doesn't list any process chain in the left hand side pan. The only tree available are 'Workload', 'Detailed Analysis', 'Load History', 'BI Aorkload' and 'Collector and Performance DB'.
Also, is there any configuration needs to be done to use ST03N to display process chain run time. -
How to display a popup message in query (through process chain)
Hi Gurus,
I need your help.
I have an input query that triggers an event (through a button) and runs a process chain.
I would like to show a popup message to inform the user when the process chain is over.
Using function modules I've been able to show popup messages in the workbench, but I want to display this message directly in Bex Analyzer 7.0.
Thanks
GabboHi,
I'm also looking for a solution to display a custom message in the Bex Analyser at logon.
Using function module in the logon user-exit works but only when loggin to the workbench.
I don't want to use SM02 (which works in both cases) because I need to display a variable message depending on the user.
If someone has an idea, I'll really appreciate.
Best regards and happy New Year to all of you. -
Change on process chain not visible in display mode after transport
All,
We have changed a process chain where message notification was active in development.
We have deleted the notification and created a transport. This has been released and implemented into the QA system without a problem.
When displaying the new process chain in QA the change was not visible. But in change mode it is.
Can anyone tell us what might be a cause/solution for this? Also for future changes.
Gui error??
Thanks in advance.hi,
Try activating the PC again in the QA.
if still it does reflect the message notification, then try creating the request again
in DEV and transport.
make sure you r out of the Process chains in DEV nad QA when transport happens.
This is just a practice.

External Email address in process chain alerting not fully displayed
Friends,
I have this weird problem and not sure if its a real issue.
I am maintaining messages for process chain failure alerting. I am using an external address and receipant type as "via Internet".
When I enter email id (ex: abc.123.xyz at mycompany.xxx) save it and come back, and If I re enter that screen the entered email is not fully displayed, few chars are truncated, (ex : abc.123.xyz@mycompan).
Can you guys please help me figure out what the issue is?
Is there any restriction on the length?
Thanks

Additional process chain groups to be displayed in DM
Hi. Just wondering if it was possible to display additional process chain groups in DM. The way I see it only "Business Planning & Consolidation: Examples" and "Business Planning & Consolidation: System" can be displayed and therefore used. I would like to organise my chains in a better structure if possible.
Am I missing something perhaps?
Thanks
SeanHi Sean
It worked for me in the past and I can see that additional folder in Data Manager, but when I tried creating another one now I can't see in DM. So, either something had changed or I forgot some step.
I'll keep looking, but it's definitely doable.

Display Source System Name in Process Chain Email
We would like to show the source system name (QA, Prod, etc) in the email subject when process chain messages are emailed so we can easily discern between production messages and messages from our test system. There doesn't appear to be a straightforward way to do this.
I have seen a Re: Howto Insert System ID into Process Chain Email Message which discussed this topic and offered 2 potential solutions neither of which work for us:
1. Open the production system and modify the messsage directly in the production system
2. Edit the First & Last Name of the sending user in the production system (does not work for us because we use central user administration)
Can anyone suggest another method of accomplishing this requirement?we achieved it by changing text of [email protected] from 'BIWREMOTE' to BIP BIWREMOTE'....so in our mails even though mail id is same, but it display it for us as BIP.
Just go for user BIWREMOTE, and change format field with whatever name you wanna recieve mail. It should work properly. -
Hi All,
I am looking after process chains everyday , today I can see process failed at RSPCM ,I when to particular process chain at RSPC double on process chain not unable to display any process chain in production system. when I double click on process chain system not displaying any process chain. I am sure no authorizations changed for me. even i have tried to display by clicking change/display ( pencil ) ,nothing happened .
Is there anything I have to do ?
Regards
HariHi Srinu,
Thanks for your reply .
Not only the failed process chain , any process chain is not displaying in production system , it is not new process chain , we load everyday morning , it is happening from couple of years.
I am trying to access from home , everyday I check morning loads from home before go to office .I am sure that is not influence .
I have not tried to activate process chain, let you know once I have activated .

Some times the logs not display in process chains
Some times the logs not display in process chains then how could we find them??
If you are in Tcode RSPC and opened your process chain you are able to click on the Logs icon. It will prompt you for a date selection.
If this still doesn't work you might have forgotton to activate and schedule your process chain. Before you activate check that your start variant is set to Direct scheduling by double clicking on the start variant.
hope this helps.

Displaying an audit through a process chain message
Does anyone know the best and cleanest practice for writing an audit either via spool or job log within a BW Process chain.
I have 2 itabs in which I'm comparing and I need to email the results and specific data rows during a failure to specific users. This audit is taking place after data is loaded into the new table (40 table) and before activiation.
Thanks for any help.Hi,
Create a program like below,
CALL FUNCTION 'BP_EVENT_RAISE'
EXPORTING
EVENTID = 'EVENT WHICH YOU HAVE CREATED'
EXCEPTIONS
BAD_EVENTID = 1
EVENTID_DOES_NOT_EXIST = 2
EVENTID_MISSING = 3
RAISE_FAILED = 4
OTHERS = 5
IF SY-SUBRC <> 0.
MESSAGE ID SY-MSGID TYPE SY-MSGTY NUMBER SY-MSGNO
WITH SY-MSGV1 SY-MSGV2 SY-MSGV3 SY-MSGV4.
ENDIF.
search and include the program name which you have created above in the "ABAP program" process type which you are going to include in the process chain.
Include the event which you have created in the start condition of the job.
Note: No need of give any variant, because here we are calling only one function in this program.

Questions on Multiprovider and Process Chain
Hai All,
I have two questions. One on Multiprovider and the other on Process chain.
1. Multiprovider:
For example, I have 2 ODSs. ODS1 has Objects ORDER NUMBER, COUNTRY and PRODUCT, ODS2 has objects ORDER NUMBER, DELIVERY STATUS, CREATION DATE.
Now if I make a multiprovider on ODS1 and ODS2, then as ORDER NUMBER is common in both the ODSs, can I make a report like this:
ORDER NUMBER - DELIVERY STATUS, CREATION DATE?
I have a problem here bacuase its not getting those details from the other ODS even though the ORDER NUMBER(value) is same. Am I making nay mistake or is it a system problem.
I beleive thats how a Multiprovider works.
2. Process chain:
I have an END connector in my process chain that connects 3 processes and lets the following task start only after the success of all the above 3 processes.
The system is displaying the END connector seperately under each process. But the name and everything else is same. Is this a setting somewhere in the process chain?
Thank you.Hi,
1. Those fields are in ODS2, you don't need to make a multiprovider.
2. You mean an AND connector. Maybe you need to refresh the screen. if this doesn't work, delete the three and connectors and insert a new one.
Hope this helps.

BPM Process chain takes long time to process
We have BI7, Netweaver 2004s on Oracle and SUN Solaris
There is a process chain (BPM) which pulls data from the CRM system into BW. The scheduled time to run this chain is 0034 hrs. This chain should ideally complete before / around 0830 Hrs. <b>Now the problem is that every alternate day this chain behaves normally and gets completed well before 0830 hrs but every alternate day this chain fails </b> there are almost 40 chains running daily. Some are event triggered (dependent with each other) or some run in parallel. In this, (BPM) process chain, usually there are 5 requests with 3 Delta and 2 full uploads (Master Data). The delta uploads finishes in 30 minutes without any issues with very few record transfers. The first full upload is from 0034 hrs to approximately 0130 hrs and the 2nd upload is from 0130 hrs to 0230 hrs. Now if the 1st upload gets delayed then the people who are initiating these chains, stop the 2nd full upload and continue it after all the process chains are completed. Now this entire BPM process chain sometimes takes 17 -18 hrs to complete!!!!!
No other loads in CRM or BW when these process chains are running
CRM has background jobs to push IDOCS to BW which run every 2 minutes which runs successfully
Yesterday this chain got completed successfully (well within stipulated time) with over 33,00,000 records transferred but sometimes it has failed to transfer even 12,00,000 records!!
Attaching a zip file, please refer the 21 to 26 Analysis screen shot.doc from the zip file
Within the zip file, attaching Normal timings of daily process chains.xls the name explains it .
Also within the zip file refer BPM Infoprovider and data source screen shot.doc please refer this file as the infopackage (page 2) which was used in the process chain is not displayed later on in page number 6 BUT CHAIN GOT SUCESSFULLY COMPLETED
We have analyzed:--
1) The PSA data for BPM process chain for past few days
2) The info providers for BPM process chain for past few days
3) The ODS entries for BPM process chain for past few days
4) The point of failure of BPM process chain for past few days
5) The overall performance of all the process chains for past few days
6) The number of requests in BW for this process chain
7) The load on CRM system for past few days when this process chain ran on BW system
As per our analysis, there are couple of things which can be fixed in the BW system:--
1) The partner agreement (transaction WE20) defined for the partner LS/BP3CLNT475 mentions both message types RSSEND and RSINFO: -- collect IDOCs and pack size = 1 Since the pack size = 1 will generate 1 TRFC call per IDOC, it should be changed to 10 so that less number of TRFCs will be generated thus less overhead for the BW server resulting in the increase in performance
2) In the definition of destination for the concerned RFC in BW (SM59), the Technical Setting tab says the Load balancing option = No. We are planning to make it Yes
But we believe that though these changes will bring some increase in performance, this is not the root cause of the abnormal behavior of this chain as this chain runs successfully on every alternate day with approximately the same amount of load in it.
I was not able to attach the many screen shots or the info which I had gathered during my analysis. Please advice how do I attach these files
Best Regards,Hi,
Normally index creation or deletion can take long time in case your database statistics are not updated properly, so can check stat after your data loading is completed and index generation is done, Do creation of database statistics.
Then try to recheck ...

Error while copying a process chain.
Hi All,
I get an error message while copying the process chain in Production environment. It says "SAP System has status 'not modifiable'".Choose display object or Cancel.I hope this is because of the config. that there is no option to create anything .
Please confirm.
Regards,
Shailja.Hi Shailja,
That means that you can not change that type of object on Quality or Productive server.
Go to Administrator Workbench, sub menu Transport Connection, there you will find a button called Object Changeability (with a truck). Click on that and change the types of the concerned objects to 'Every changeable' in your case.
Beware that you must change the status not with a double click but with a right click
also refer the following thread you can find your solution

Hope this helps

SAPSQL_ARRAY_INSERT_DUPREC during saving of Process Chain
Dear all,
On saving, when adding a process to an existing Process Chain - like Rollup or Change Run - in our SCM 5.0 system, we receive a short dump 'SAPSQL_ARRAY_INSERT_DUPREC' (complete short dump at the end of the msg).
A problem arose on the line 'insert rsbatchparallel from table g_t_batch_par.' of include 'LRSBATCHF01'.
The version of this include is the same as all other systems in our environment.
In the table 'rsbatchparallel' we don't find any entry that can cause a duplicate entry.
We are really stuck with this issue - any help is highly appreciated!
Best regards,
Ingrid
Complete short dump
Runtime Errors SAPSQL_ARRAY_INSERT_DUPREC
Exception CX_SY_OPEN_SQL_DB
Date and Time 08.10.2007 16:56:50
Short text
The ABAP/4 Open SQL array insert results in duplicate database records.
What happened?
Error in the ABAP Application Program
The current ABAP program "SAPLRSBATCH" had to be terminated because it has
come across a statement that unfortunately cannot be executed.
What can you do?
Note down which actions and inputs caused the error.
To process the problem further, contact you SAP system
administrator.
Using Transaction ST22 for ABAP Dump Analysis, you can look
at and manage termination messages, and you can also
keep them for a long time.
Error analysis
An exception occurred that is explained in detail below.
The exception, which is assigned to class 'CX_SY_OPEN_SQL_DB', was not caught
in
procedure "SAVE_SETTINGS" "(FORM)", nor was it propagated by a RAISING clause.
Since the caller of the procedure could not have anticipated that the
exception would occur, the current program is terminated.
The reason for the exception is:
If you use an ABAP/4 Open SQL array insert to insert a record in
the database and that record already exists with the same key,
this results in a termination.
(With an ABAP/4 Open SQL single record insert in the same error
situation, processing does not terminate, but SY-SUBRC is set to 4.)
How to correct the error
Use an ABAP/4 Open SQL array insert only if you are sure that none of
the records passed already exists in the database.
If the error occures in a non-modified SAP program, you may be able to
find an interim solution in an SAP Note.
If you have access to SAP Notes, carry out a search with the following
keywords:
"SAPSQL_ARRAY_INSERT_DUPREC" "CX_SY_OPEN_SQL_DB"
"SAPLRSBATCH" or "LRSBATCHF01"
"SAVE_SETTINGS"
If you cannot solve the problem yourself and want to send an error
notification to SAP, include the following information:
1. The description of the current problem (short dump)
To save the description, choose "System->List->Save->Local File
(Unconverted)".
2. Corresponding system log
Display the system log by calling transaction SM21.
Restrict the time interval to 10 minutes before and five minutes
after the short dump. Then choose "System->List->Save->Local File
(Unconverted)".
3. If the problem occurs in a problem of your own or a modified SAP
program: The source code of the program
In the editor, choose "Utilities->More
Utilities->Upload/Download->Download".
4. Details about the conditions under which the error occurred or which
actions and input led to the error.
The exception must either be prevented, caught within proedure
"SAVE_SETTINGS" "(FORM)", or its possible occurrence must be declared in the
RAISING clause of the procedure.
To prevent the exception, note the following:

Information on where terminated
Termination occurred in the ABAP program "SAPLRSBATCH" - in "SAVE_SETTINGS".
The main program was "RSPC_MAINTAIN ".
In the source code you have the termination point in line 1082
of the (Include) program "LRSBATCHF01".
The termination is caused because exception "CX_SY_OPEN_SQL_DB" occurred in
procedure "SAVE_SETTINGS" "(FORM)", but it was neither handled locally nor
declared
in the RAISING clause of its signature.
The procedure is in program "SAPLRSBATCH "; its source code begins in line
