Display Scrolling Fonts Become Lighter In Color

Hello All
I have a question. When I'm scrolling a webpage should the fonts become a liltte lighter in color? I'm using a magic
mouse and it seems when I'm scrolling a page say where the font is blue it seems to change to a much lighter blue
almost a turqoise color. when I stop scrolling it is fine. Is this just the nature of the new displays? Also can someone
explain to me what smooth scrolling is? As a side note if I scroll the same webpage using the directional arrow keys
there doesn't really seem to be the discoloration of the fonts. Thanks!
Joseph

do your monitors have an option for brighteness and contrast internally?
to make changes through the os, go to spotlight (hit cmd+spacebar) and type in "colorsync utility" and then enter.
use this utility to create a profile and then choose the same profile for your other monitor.

  • Why is everything on screen lighter in color - more grayish.

Since loading Mavericks, all content on the screen seems to have become much lighter in color. The blacks have become dark gray and the grays are almost too bright to understand/read. Text on Numbers and Keynote are now so tough to read in thier current gray tone.
How can I make the colors darker. I am using a 2013 Mac Mini and two Planar 27" screens.
    Thanks.

  • Regular Helvetica font becomes compressed in some Leopard applications

Since installing Leopard, I've noticed that several instances of the Helvetica font become horizontally compressed. It's merely an annoyance when viewed online, but when trying to enter text into a field, such as in Yahoo! Messenger v.3.0b2, it's impossible to know where to place the insertion point, since it doesn't correspond to the actual character outlines.
One place it's 100% reproducible is when using Safari 3 to view the date and headlines on MacFixIt:
    http://www.macfixit.com/
It's clearly a bug, because it looks as intended in every other browser, including Firefox for Mac OS X.
    Does anyone have a fix?

I did have several duplicates -- mostly older versions of the Microsoft-installed fonts that Apple now seems to include with the OS. I got rid of the older verisons that had been in my user fonts folder, thinking that maybe Arial was the culprit. No dice: even after a restart, with no dupes in Font Book, the problem is as before.
For comparison, here are how I see MacFixIt's homepage in Safari 3:
    http://ewestby.com/safari-narrow-fonts.gif
    and in Firefox:
    http://ewestby.com/firefox-normal-fonts.gif
This is after checking for and removing duplicate fonts. And again, I'm not merely quibbling: I can live with the odd display. The real problem is that in several apps, text entry gets messed up because the insertion point doesn't appear where it's supposed to, since the OS is somehow not keeping track of the proper character widths.

  • CS2 colours become light pink

I use A CS2 Standard om an Windows XP Professional Version 2002 SP2 HP office computer. This problem is on all of the products in A CS2. RAM 1GB Pentium 4 CPU 3 GHz. I have a new Philips screen which I just calibrated with Adobe Gamma.
Any how, the problem is that all colors become light pink when I change the tone of the color with the bar in swatches. So if I set black into 10% tone it is pink, when I set 100% cyan in 10% tone it is pink. If I set 100% cyan in 50% tone it is purple. How can I fix this very annoying problem?
    Thanks for help

Adobe Gamma was never intended to be used with LCD panels and my guess
is you didn't calibrate that monitor very well.
Trash that monitor profile you created and get a hardware calibration
device such as an EyeOne or Huey.

  • Adobe Muse (2014.3) "Add Web Font" Function Not Working As Expected - Newly Added Fonts Become Unavailable Though Shown

    Hello.
This has also been posted in the Community: Adobe Muse Bugs forum.
I've been having some odd/irregular issues though they have now become fairly predictable in nature. The issue is in regards to Adobe Muse (2014.3) and the availability of web fonts provided through the applications "Add Web Fonts" feature. Once added they perform as expected but then become "unavailable." Full details below. I have been a Creative Cloud Complete subscriber for a number of years so am fairly familiar with the way in which the system works minus a few issues that have popped up now and then, this one included.
    System Info:
Adobe Creative Cloud (Full Subscription): Version 1.9.1.474
    Adobe Muse: Version 2014.3
    OS X Yosemite: 10.10.2
Here is a recap of what has been taking place. I'll detail the bug as best I can.
    1. Created new Adobe Muse project. Everything normal.
    2. Chose to add a new font through the "Add Web Fonts" function within Muse. A note, my Creative Cloud App is running/open at all times (in file synch mode).
    3. Chose new fonts using above. All seemed fine (see screenshots below).
    4. Fonts also were indicated as being "Synched" within Creative Cloud (screenshot below).
    5. As expected the two fonts were added to the list of available Web Fonts within Muse (first screenshot below - left). I added them successfully to my site. Well after a number of hours I went back to this same font selection menu within Muse and the fonts were still visible yet the sub-menu that one would expect showing various forms (i.e. Bold, Italic, etc) was not available. In a sense the font could not be chosen from the list even though the name is clearly visible (second screenshot below - right).
Have no idea what may have been wrong. Saved Muse project, closed and reopened - nothing changed. Created new project - fonts still "shown" in menu but can't be used. Did find a vague description using Google of similar problem (different application) which recommended closing Creative Cloud Desktop App and reopening as one possible solution. This DID WORK initially yet the problem, though corrected for a period of time (few hours at most), would reappear again where one would again see yet not be able to choose from the two Web Fonts. Went so far as to uninstalling the Creative Cloud Desktop application and reinstalling. Still have not solved the problem.
Any thoughts as to what this may be would be welcome. Restarting the CC app each and every time the fonts become unavailable is quite time consuming to my workflow.
    Thanks!

    Abhishek,
Thank you for the reply. Wanted to comment on a few things.
I reviewed the other post that you've referenced. Nothing unusual jumped out at me as something that I was not aware of. I'm running an older iMac that is in good working condition. 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 24" screen. I know this issue is fleeting, as I stated earlier typically can be corrected with a restart of the CC Desktop application (that I am always running at startup). I have not been able to determine that shutting down Muse corrects the issue. I would, at this time say it doesn't.
I did open InDesign and see if the fonts in question, Open Sans and Open Sans Condensed, were present and usable. They were. The fonts are shown as being synched in my CC Desktop app window (even if they are not "installed" in Muse). That is expected but it may be a bug in how Muse brings in a font from those that are already synched to your CC account. I don't know enough about how that works to comment.
And just to complicate matters, Muse seems to be working again, the fonts that is. I brought them back in and they are showing up in all locations (which there are actually three - see screen shots).
First is primary text menu dropdown (to right of orange "Text").
Second is if you click orange Text link. Another drop down menu appears.
And lastly, the Text Panel to right of screen.
I also wanted to add this extra bit of information, for what it is worth. When the issue arises and you do not get the sub-menu dropdown showing various styles of the font (italics, bold, etc.), one can use click on the missing font if you had used it previously and it is present in the "previously used font" list.
    Cheers!

  • Display blank, key board light not working, won't wake up if sleeps.

Hi. I just bought a Toshiba Satellite P850 and after two weeks I had the first big problem.
It starts normally first time but after a shut-down and a few hours later start, the display is blank, any light on.The back light keyboard the same - only the power button and battery/wireless-connection have the light on.
If I shut it down again and then restart (by pressing the power button) nothing happened same screen and no light.
Tried to do this.. remove battery, press pow. button for 30-60 sec, plug charger, and the restart. it works. but after a shut-down and a few hours later restart,I have the same problem. If sleep mode it won't wake up.
Don't know what to do.. it's a brand new Toshiba Satellite. used a few hours a day for two weeks.

It sounds like the computer is going into Sleep mode or Hibernation and not coming out of it. Go to the Control Panel and select Power Options. Whatever your current power setting, select the Advanced settings under it. Check out your Sleep and Hibernation settings. In this case, I would disable them. You might want to enable the Screen Saver and let that kick in if you're away from the computer for any length of time.
In cases of mysterious computer issues, the best policy is to simplify. Reduce the number of attached devices. Keep the number of open applications down to a minimum. See if you can figure which hardware or software is causing this problem. And you should be able to fix it.

I want to ask if anyone would know why the PDF file is not displaying the font properly?  and is there anyting I can do to fix it?
    Thanks.

It will input your Quicken PPC data file directly if it was Quicken 2005 through 2007.  If older you need Quicken 2006 or 2007 PPC first to convert your data file; and this update must be done BEFORE you upgrade to Mavericks:

Is your text in a dynamic text box, or static text box in
    flash?
I don't think the issue concerns the "true-type" or not
    "true-type" font.
In Flash, when text is part of a dynamic text box (which I
assume is the case in your situation),
then the font works just like in an html page:
if the font is installed on the computer it will show, if
not, it won't. The way around this, is to
embed the font data in the authoring flash file, and link it
to the dynamic text box, via actionScript.
So if you cannot work on the authoring Flash file with Flash
MX or Flash8, and if indeed we're
talking about a dynamic text box, your only option is to use
    a web-safe font.

  • Google Chrome displaying incorrect fonts

I have just downloaded google chrome for the first time and tested a site I have built in it, and all the fonts are times/serif style when I have created the style sheet to have ariel/helvetice/sans serif as the default body font.
Every other browser I have tested my site in has displayed the correct fonts - even dare I say it - Internet Explorer seems to be doing a great job! So why not chrome? Having looked for some rational reason, I decided to come here, using chrome as my browser, and it was then that I noticed that the adobe site which is normally sans serif is displaying serif fonts!!
    Why?
Here's a link to the site:

Oh bless you... are you and your hefty walleted father in-law really that naive to believe this is a live website?
I am in the process of constructing the site, and as a result, I need to test it on a testing server rather than on my client's live domain! Occasionally, one has problems that one cannot seem to overcome without a little guidance from others who are able to help, which is obviously why you have joined this forum. If one does have problems, then you will without question be asked to show an example of the site and its code before you even get a relevant and constructive response. That's all you are looking at
As you rightly point out, the product range is missing images. If you actually bothered to look at the code, you would see that the source is blank, and secondly, if you read the text below each, you would see that all four are identical. Why would I bother to do that on a live site? You will also see that there are other parts of the site that I am yet to build, or if they are built, then I need to populate them with something other than dummy content. There is so much lorem ipsum across the site that I find it hard to believe anybody would consider this to be a finished product!
Look at what you have just judged and you will realise that there are so many clues that this isn't a complete site. The domain I have asked people to look at is under the name of matthew stuart design, and if you bothered to look at the top level of the domain, you'll quickly discover I am a graphic and web designer. I do not supply generators to markets (which are clearly indicated), such as the military where they generate electrical power to war torn regions to aid in the rebuild of that which has been destroyed... I don't supply the medical sector where stand-by power is required just in case there is a power failure during open-heart surgery.
If you studied the content of the wibiya bar, you would see that it refers to me as a designer, and my approach is a friendly one. However, at the moment I don't feel particularly friendly. Every job I have done has fulfilled my clients needs, but not only that, it has also fulfilled the requirements of my client's clients'. The wibiya bar is simply there as an example to my customers... I don't even have it on my live site!
What you have posted is totally out of line. The client I am building this site for has an exceptional name in their industry, and if your father in-law was in the market of buying a power generator, then I recommend them highly, and they will be able to build him something that suits his budget. If your father in-law requires a website, then I suggest he use somebody with experience, and that would be me, or any number of other experienced members of this forum.
So, your father in-law has made an incorrect judgement - leading me to question if he applies the same analytical processes to his million pound budget, OR, it's more than likely you have misled him due to your own naivety, and if that is the case, then I apologise for my previous comment about his capabilities.
If you're going to insult me, make sure you get your ducks in a row before-hand. Making such a comment could spread like a virus ruining my clients reputation... that's not just A BIG NO NO, it is hugely irresponsible!
By the way, I don't sell paper clips, but I've had a box full of them for more than 10 years and I don't use them; you can have them free of charge... you'll just need to pay for the postage!

<b>Screen Painter displays nothing and becomes hang.</b>
    To duplicate:
    1. Create a new table and fields. (I created using SQL Enterprise Manager).
    2. Create a new form using Screen Painter.
    3. Bound several items to column to field of table created on step#1
    4. Save and close the form in .srf.
    5. Open the saved form and Screen Painter becomes hang.
Is there any mistakes in my steps? Or this is just a Screen Painter Bug?
    Thanks in advance,
    Jemmy Sentonius

When creating new tables, make sure to create them via SAP. You can achieve this by either manually creating tables via SAP client or programmatically using DIAPI.
When you bind data to a form via UIAPI (either programmatically or via xml/srf) SAP needs to know the tables you refer to.
When you create tables using Enterprise Manager, SQL Server knows about the tables, SAP does not. Hence your error, I guess.
However Screenpainter should not hang when referencing "invalid" (to SAP) tables. This behaviour ought to be corrected.
