    Hi all!
Since about 15 days my iphone 4 has started to overheat while in standby in my jacket pocket or on the table and crashes continuosly, draining really fast the battery. I've tried several times to reset it, to keep it off for a while, but once again on it starts again to crash during calls, to delay the screen movements, etc...
    What to do?
thanks all in advance for your help!

  • My laptop won't stay alive while on it's battery

I know this is the same topic as a few other people. I have an Applecare protection plan but i'm just wondering if it covers my laptop in Canada as well, if i bought it in UK? I'm flying out soon so i can't go to see someone at Apple- which seems to be the answer to the problem. Unless anyone knows why it just turns off when i turn the AC off?
    Thanks.

I have a MacBook bought in June 2006 and have the same problem: though my battery appears to be fully charged (100% charge according to battery icon and all of the green lights on the battery light up when I press the magic button on the bottom of the battery), as soon as I unplug from AC power the MacBook shuts down. This problem began in September when I downloaded and installed that period's firmware update, but I haven't had time to deal with it until now. I know from several other threads that many, many others have had troubles getting their MacBook to recognize the battery, and some have reported that a new battery solved the problem (buth others say the problem just reoccurs with a new battery within a couple of hours or days) but this is different since from all appearances the battery seems to be fully charged. Following many people's advice on other threads, I've reset the PRAM and PMU -- and attempted to reset the NVRAM, though I was unsuccesful since my computer didn't respond the way the instructions said it would (!!) -- and I've deleted the powermanager.plist file, all to absolutely no effect.
Can anyone suggest what this might be? Could it be the firmware update that messed up the internal power management of the MacBook? Is there any way to return to pre-September 2006 firmware to undo the damage, if this is the problem? Help! And thanks!

  • For some reason my I phone 4 is get n hot and battery will die within 6 hrs.Anyone know why?

My iPhones been working great intell a week ago my battery will only stay charged for about 5 hrs and it gets real hot anything I can do ?

Read this: http://www.apple.com/batteries/iphone.html.  Try out what it says.  Compare what your getting vs what the design specs are.  If none of the suggestions work, restore as new.  Test.  Get battery replaced if issue persists.

  • Iphone 5s is hot and battery goes down quickly

I dont play any games, but I usually use facebook and google chrome, I bought that iphone 5s a month ago but the problem has appeared for a week.
My phone gets hot whenever I use facebook or google chrome although I close all unnecessary apps, functions.
The stand-by time is not so long, I tried to put my phone into flying mode. After 8 hours, my phone's battery went down to 23% from 60%.
I dont really understand what's happen to my phone. Please helppp!

    Try This...
Close All Open Apps... Sign Out of your Account... Perform a Reset... Try again...
Reset  ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... ( But can take Longer...)
    Release the Buttons...
    If no joy...
    Reset all settings
Settings > General > Reset > Reset all Settings.
This will return all iDevice settings to factory defaults... you will not lose any data.... But you will have to re-enter all of the device settings.
Then Perform the Above RESET again.

  • My battery is dying quickly and getting warm

The sound of my phone stopped working (unless headphones are plugged in), so I tried resetting it. Then the problem wasn't fixed and the battery life became very short. Now my phone dies if it is untouched (with all my apps closed) overnight and the sound works for the first minute of going use and then stops. Also, my phone is always warm.

Back up and restore via iTunes. If the problem continues, restore as a new device and test. If the problem is solved, there is some kind of corruption in your backup file or maybe it's one of your apps causing problems. If it continues, take it to an Apple Store for evaluation of a possible hardware problem.

  • My iPhone 4s battery is dying quickly. What do I do to fix that?

I recently updated to the newest software, and now my battery dies without my phone being in use. It will sit in my pocket for an hour and loses most of its battery. Is anyone else having this problem? How do I fix it?

Nickstro, the same is happening to me. Ever since I uploaded ios7 to my iPhone 4S the battery has been running down at an alarming rate. I just left it for about an hour on my desktop and it lost 23% battery. I wasn't even using it.
I've tried restarting it but no change. I've turned off everything that could be dragging the memory down too, such as push notifications and instant App updates. I'm at a loss as to its cause. Is it the new software?
    Any help gratefully received.

  • Battery is dying quickly

Recently, my battery is only lasting approximately 7 hours instead of the 1.5-2 days that it used to...How can I fix this?

I had a similar problem last week, and searching the web is what brought me here in the first place, actually.
A quick search of the archives brings this post string:

I thought letting a Guru's answer be used was better than trying to advise you myself on my first post. I will say that the "battery pop reboot" mentioned fixed my problem on the first try.
    Hope this helps.

  • X230 not aware of AC unplug while in standby

    Hello,
I have my power options set up so that the laptop goes into hibernate after 1 hour if it's running on battery, and to never hibernate if it's on AC power.
The problem is that if it's plugged in when I put it in standby/sleep, and remove the AC power later... it will never hibernate.
Shouldn't it be aware that AC power was unplugged while in standby and start the timer for hibernation?
It uses up so much power in standby (1-2% per hour), I would expect it to be able to process such events.
    any insight on this?
    thanks

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi again, Vicentiu
I've done some testing myself, and I don't think this is possible, unfortunately. When the system is in sleep or standby mode, then the operating system isn't really running. As such, the operating system does not notice when the AC adapter is removed, since only the hardware registers the change.
I do have a possible workaround for you, though. If you navigate to Control Panel ► Power Options, and then click Change plan settings next to the plan you wish to use, there will be a new window that has an option Change advanced power settings. Click on this link. You should be brought to a window that will allow you to turn off several devices to save power (hard drive, processor, wireless adapter, etc.). This may help you save a bit more power.
    Hope it helps,
    Adam
