Display workspace - column settings

Hello everyone,
I have an enquiry regarding display settings in the workspace. Depending on screen resolution and side panes some tables are not displayed correctly (e.g job console). In particular the column widths in some tables are too narrow with respect to the content and force a linebreak instead of widening the column/scrollbar. Unfortunately, the subsequent columns don't match in terms of row height which makes the tables difficult to read. Are there any user-defined settings preventing line breaks/envoking fixed colunm widths etc? Is this a IE versioning issue?
Thank you in advance
Florian

Hi,
For setting column width
DATA :     gr_columns   TYPE REF TO cl_salv_columns,
                 gr_column    TYPE REF TO cl_salv_column.
  CALL METHOD gr_table->get_columns
    RECEIVING
      value = gr_columns.
  gr_column ?= gr_columns->get_column( c_bukrs ).
  gr_column->set_output_length( 12 ).
For alignment
gr_column->SET_ALIGNMENT( IF_SALV_C_ALIGNMENT=>LEFT ).

  • Tutorial 2 for BAPI WDA - set column settings in Wizard - page 7, step 4.

    To the Pretty Good WDA Programmers, and/or Experts,
         I am new at this, so any help is appreciated.
         In the tutorial: Dynpro for ABAP: Tutorial 2 - BAPI Usage at: https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/9cb5d345-0801-0010-6a8e-fc57c23fd600  has in page 7, step 4. Seems a little vague to me:
    The Required Methods and Context Elements
    On the two subsequent dialog windows, default values are listed for giving names to the context nodes and attributes required by the service call as well as to the required methods. The proposed names are based on the names of the embedded service, but you can change them as required.
        So the question is, in the wizard for page 7, step 4, what are the column settings set to: Parameter Values / Controller Attribute / Context Node ... to get the BAPI Input/Output and Changing columns looking like they do in the tutorial on the next page (pg 8)?
       Step-by-step, or in this case, column-by-column directions would be most helpful!
    Thank You...

    To Trikanth and  Saurav,
       Thank you for those screen-shots Trikanth. They definitely helped point me in the right direction. The problem was that all of the 'Changing' structure sub-structures would end up in the view node.
       When I would try to map 'Changing | Flight_List' with the context, a message would appear: 'Mapping is only possible for Flight_List if Parent is Mapped'. Then when I mapped the entire 'Changing' node, it would map to the Component Controller, but then it would not map correctly to the output display table.
       Apparently only one dimension of structures could be mapped. A (deep) structure of structures cannot be.
       So in step 4, in the wizard, to make this work, I had to only make visible 'Changing' by what you both kindly confirmed: making it Context.
    Settings Summary: Root Node- unchangable.
    Parameter Group 'Importing'- Context (Node/Attribute)- Unchangeable
    Parameters-  Airline - Changed to Context (Node/Attribute)
    Dest_From              - Changed to Context (Node/Attribute)
    Dest_To                  - Changed to Context (Node/Attribute)
    Max_Rows              - Changed to Context (Node/Attribute)
    Parameter Group 'Changing'- Context (Node/Attribute)- Unchangeable
    Date_Range            - left as Controller Attribute
    Extension_In           - left as Controller Attribute
    Flight_List               - Changed to Context (Node/Attribute)  <---
    Extension_Out         - left as Controller Attribute
    Return                     - left as Controller Attribute
    So, when 'Changing' and ONLY 'Flight_List' was made visible in the node, it mapped correctly to both the Context node and to the output table columns.
    This is great. Thanks a Lot!

  • Infopath display lookup column value

    Hi
    I have a Infopath 2010 form with which displays an employee record. Some of the columns are lookup from a sharepoint list.
    How can I display the value of the lookup column instead of Id in the form.
    The form has the main connection and the secondary connection for the lookup sharepoint lists.
    The sharepoint lookup column is set to "Title" in additional column settings. Add a column to show each of the additional fields are all unchecked.
    I searched google, but couldnt find an answer.
    I tried to do the way described in http://sharepointsolutions.com/sharepoint-help/blog/2011/11/get-infopath-to-display-lookup-column-value-not-id/
    But get error , since it works for repeated table.
    Any Ideas?
    Thanks
    Venky

    Hi Venky,
    How did you create your look up  column? Which column type is the column which your look up column looks for?
    By my test, it is default behavior that the InfoPath form display the value of the lookup column.
    Thanks,
    Eric

  • How to display the column names of a table in the output

    Hi,
    I want to display the name of the columns of the table without using literals in a abap report.
    EX: Consider the table KNA1
    KUNNR NAME  ADDRESS
    I want to display the column names in the above fashion without using hardcoded write statements.
    Thanking in anticipation

    You can use this FM <b>DDIF_FIELDINFO_GET</b> It gives you all the names related to fields in a table -:)

  • In ColumnChart, how to stop displaying small column for zero value?

    I'm trying to create a ColumnChart that does not display a column when the value is zero. The chart currently looks like this:
    This is a stacked column chart with red values representing Faults and green values representing Throughput. Each hour has an explicit value of zero for Faults. I don't want to see any red lines when the value is zero. Is there any way to accomplish this?

                                        </mx:series>
                                     </mx:ColumnChart>

    Answered my own question!!
    The solution is to set the stroke for the ColumnSeries to {noStroke}, which I defined like this:
        <mx:Stroke id="noStroke" color="0xFFFFFF" weight="0"/>
    Note that if you define {noStroke} without a color property, black is used by default, which means that those columns that do appear show up in black stroke outline.
    If there's a more elegant solution to the problem, please let me know...

  • Query Report - To display additional column in list selection box.

    Hi,
    There is query report where i want to display the additional column in list selection.
    Below is the system query report, where parameter passed is card code.
    When the cardcode - list selection is clicked system displays 2 columns i.e. Customer Code & No. of Records.
    Now in the same list selection; is it possible to display the customer name along with cardcode only for reference.
    SELECT T0.DocDate, T1.SlpName, T2.Name, T0.DocDueDate, T0.DocNum,    (CASE WHEN T0.DocStatus = 'O' THEN 'Open' ELSE 'Closed' END) AS Status,    T0.DocTotal FROM OQUT T0 LEFT JOIN OSLP T1    ON T0.SlpCode = T1.SlpCode LEFT JOIN OCPR T2 ON T0.CntctCode = T2.CntctCode WHERE T0.CardCode = N'[%0]'    ORDER BY T0.DocNum DESC
    Kindly let me know the details.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Yogesh Jadav

    Hi Yogesh Jadav,
    The answer is NO.  You may only display either code or name but not both.
    Thanks,

  • How to display nodestamp column in ApplicationsTreeTable -ViewMenu- Columns

    I have ApplicationsTree table on my UI screen with the columns ex: col1, col2, col3, col4.
    col1 is inside node stamp.
    col1 is not displaying under View Menu -> Columns.
    How can I display nodestamp column in ViewMenu -> Columns?
    Thanks,
    Swathi

    select a column, then use the contextual menu for the column and select "Add Column Before" or "Add Column After"
    you can also highlight a column then use the key combination:
    <option> + <right arrow> to add a column after (or to the right) and
    <option> + <left arrow> to add a column before (or to the left)

  • Display mutiple columns in a drop down

    Has anyone found a way to display multiple columns in a drop down field? For example, I want to populate my drop down with an ID type field and associated DESCRIPTION1, DESCRIPTION2, DESCRIPTION3 and DESCRIPTION4 fields:
    10100101 EXTERNAL COMBUSTION BOILERS ELECTRIC GENERATION ANTHRACITE COAL PULVERIZED COAL
    10100102 EXTERNAL COMBUSTION BOILERS ELECTRIC GENERATION ANTHRACITE COAL TRAVELING GRATE (OVERFEED) STOKER
    This was possible in Form Designer 5 - you could add one to many columns in a drop down and choose which columns to display, set a column width, and choose which column was the "text" property and which was the "value" property of the drop down. For example, in my sample above the text "ANTHRACITE COAL TRAVELING GRATE (OVERFEED) STOKER" would display in the drop down and the value "10100102" would be saved as the value.

    The closest you can come is, taking from your example, you add the item "ANTRACITE COAL TRAVELING GRATE (OVERFEED) STOKER" to your drop down. Then in the binding tab you give that item the value "10100102".
