Display ZOOM

Ok, You probably will laough at me, but here is what happened: my cat took a nap on the keyboard of my MacBook, and whatever combination of keys she pushed, zoomed in the entire display so much that cursor is now about 1/4 of the screen. Rebooting the comp did not change anything, and I'm desperately looking for a way to get back to normal (other than letting my dog sleep on it).
Appreciate any input!

  • IPhone 6 Plus Display Zoom needs an iPhone 5 option.

The standard option is comical. I feel like it's for visually challenged users. I purchased the bigger phone for more real estate, not a larger UI.
A simple third option for Display Zoom would suffice, call it small/tiny if you must (although 'original' would be a better PR move).
Just add more width, not height to the UI. Done.

This is a user-to-user forum. Any Apple Store employees that participate would be doing so as private user, not employees.

  • IPhone 6 Display Zoom Known Issues?

I have an iPhone 6 64 GB and have noticed some peculiarities of the display zoom setting (Settings -> Display & Brightness -> Display Zoom -> View). When set to "zoomed" everything is enlarged to the same size of an iPhone 5S. However, when set to "standard", which takes full advantage of the larger display, there appears to be a few issues:
    1) Lock screen remains "zoomed" - Look at the top of the iPhone and the cell strength, carrier, WiFi, and time are all larger when locked.
    2) Some apps that claim to be optimized for iOS 8 have "zoomed in" look (Facebook, Spotify, anything Google). This also zooms the keyboard. How frustrating !
I was wondering if others are having this same issue. Is this an app developer issue, an iOS 8 for all users, or an issue unique to me? All official Apple apps have appropriate "standard" setting, along with some others (Twitter and Beats Audio).

it happens the same to me. Apple support made me clean restore from DFU mode. Then configured as new iPhone and same thing happens.
The lock screen is zoomed and all no apple apps Except Twitter and telegram.
It's pretty weird. They told me to send it to repair, but I will wait some days and see if there is a software update.

  • IPhone 6/6Plus display zoom Vs. iPhone 4/5

When the display is zoomed, is the text (e.g. below icons, or on the header/footer of the screen) the same size on a 6 or 6 Plus or is the 6 Plus slightly bigger?
Secondly how does the zoomed size compare to the standard icon text on an iPhone 4 or 5?
Why?  I find my iPhone 4 a little hard to read and many fonts are not altered by the text size selection from the settings panel. So I'm wondering if a zoomed iPhone 6 or 6 Plus will be easier for me to see, or if zoom just brings it to the same size as a iPhone 4 (so then the unzoomed size would actually be smaller then my iPhone 4).

I am pretty interested in this question as well as my iPhone 4S screen text is getting hard to see. Must be getting Old!!
Looks like Icons and all content is display zoomed in the iPhone 6/plus.

  • Flash movie in Safari in Macbook Pro Retina Display zooming issue

    Hello,
On Macbook Pro Retina Display in Safari browser, zooming any flash application in browser does not work properly.
I have made a YouTube video showing the problem in action:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bi1d1x8bpnA
When I zoom in and out using two fingers pinch zooming does not go as expected - it is zooming into bits outside of the zoom area while the zooming is in the process.
    Please fix the issue.
    Thanks.

    P.S:
I have also created an Adobe BugBase bug report here:
    https://bugbase.adobe.com/index.cfm?event=bug&id=3323043

    Hi Steffen....!!
The phenomenon which you just described is absolutely not common in the late 2013 retina macbook. Even I have the same model but I have never noticed such sounds neither during normal operations nor after tilting it.
I am afraid, but it seems to be a hardware issue. Might be because the fan assembly has become loose due to which its touching the other parts.
There is also a possibility  that some dirt or small piece of something might have gone inside the macbook through the air vents which may be interfering with the fan mechanism. I think so you can try to open the back cover of the macbook and see if something is interfering with the fans if your macbook is out of warranty. If its covered with Apple care, I suggest take it to Apple store and let them diagnose the issue.
    Hope this helps......

  • 3.1.3 update made my phone display zoom in

My phone display is double the size now, it displays everything double as big as it used to. I only see a quarter of the icons at once. I need to move my finger to the side of the screen to scroll it. It particularly annoying and hard to enter the unlock code. Maybe it is something I did? I guess not.
If I launch an App, the diplay goes back to normal for a second or two. Then, if in an App I press the Home button, it also goes back for a second, then it zooms back in.

The "Zoom" accessibility feature is turned on. Double-tap using three fingers to un-zoom, and then go to Settings -> General -> Accessibility -> Zoom and tap the Zoom On/Off switch.
If you have trouble with that. connect to iTunes and click the "Configure Universal Access" button in the Summary pane and turn off Zoom there.

  • IOS 8.1.2 Display Zoomed on Start-Up

Perhaps my iPhone 6 was the only one that did this, but just in case someone else has this problem I am posting the issue.  As many folks know, after you update to a new release of software your Touch ID will not open your iPhone.  Instead, you need to enter your Lock Screen Code to use your iPhone.  The trouble I had was as the new software was installed and then the iPhone screen returned to the lock screen the display was in maximum Zoom mode.  There was no way to actually access the numeric keypad to enter the lock screen passcode.  If this happens you will need to try to avoid any of the actual numeric keys and tap the screen with three fingers at once.  This should un-zoom your screen and allow for the passcode entry.

  • Entire Display Zoomed in - not result of [command +]

    Hi!
Earlier today, I somehow zoomed in my computer screen. Similar to pushing [command
+], but the entire display, not just text, is larger. I have to scroll to get to my dock, internet settings and top bar. I have tried restarting and even popping out my battery. The log in screen is of normal size, but as soon as I enter my account, my background picture is normally sized for half a second, then it zooms in on the center, and then the entire display has become too large for the screen. I have to click and drag around to see anything. Any suggestions?
    Thank You!

    Awesome. Thanks for the update.
Have you also doubled checked to make sure Zoom was turned off from under the Seeing tab of the *Universal Access* pane of *System Preferences* as well?
The keyboard short cut will be either Option-Command-8 or *fn Command-F11*. Any help there?

  • Display zooms in

I have a new Apple 24" display running in tandem with my MacBook Pro. My tracking device is a new Apple wireless mouse. There are times, without warning, when the display view zooms in, just enough to hide the main menu across the top, and blurring everything. I'm not sure what causes this, but the only way I have of correcting it is restarting the computer. Can someone tell me how to fix this when it happens without a re-boot? Something tells me it might be the mouse, but not sure. Thanks

Scrolling with Control pressed will cause the screen to zoom (and blur slightly). You con unzoom with:
    ⌘⌥- (Command-Option-Minus)
Look in the "Seeing" tab of "Universal Access" system preference.

  • Desktop display zoom

How do I increase the font size of the desktop display? It's too small to read comfortably.
    Post relates to: Palm Z22

Using "regedit" I was able to change the font size larger for use with the Palm Desktop software.
Run "regedit" and export (save) a backup copy for safety
        File  >  Export
      Search for "FontSmall"
Edit  >  Find  >  Find what  >  FontSmall
Click on FontSizeGeneral and change the "Value data" to 16
      Exit "regedit"
Run Palm Desktop software and enjoy the new legible font size!
      Notes:
      1) The location of the Palm Desktop software on my system using "regedit" is:
            HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\U.S. Robotics\Pilot Desktop\Core
            * Your location of the Palm Desktop software may differ.
      2) I tested this on monitors using resolutions of 1280 x 1024 and 1024 x 768
The font size is noticeably readable and much, much better
      3) You may also change the font family from the default (Arial) to another, such as Verdana, etc.
FontCard    (Changes the font family in the side panels)
FontGeneral    (Changes the font family for most of the program fonts)

  • Display zoomed in all the time

The text on the phone is constantly zoomed in and the phone won't return to normal size. I can't use the phone very well at all.

You have the Zoom feature enabled on your iPhone. The iPhone includes access to the user guide, which is provided as a Safari bookmark, or you can download the user guide as a PDF file from Apple's website to your computer.

  • How do I zoom out my display?

I have a 2.0ghz, 17 in imac and my cat just layed on the edge of my keyboard when I was scrolling up with the scroll ball, and my display zoomed in...I finally figured out that the ctrl key was what he hit. I tried hitting Ctrl while scrolling down to get it to zoom out, but that didn't do anything. I also tried logging out/logging in, changing display preferences/ detecting displays, hitting other keys while scrolling down, shutting off computer, and it still isn't back to normal. How do I fix this?

Open System Prefs to the Keyboard and Mouse section, click the mouse tab, then uncheck and (if you want) re-check the box at the bottom of the window that says "Zoom using scroll wheel..." This should un-zoom the display.

  • Lock screen and other app stuck on zoomed mode

I noticed that my lock screen is stuck on zoomed mode. When I'm in my home screen it's in standard view. Also I'm having the same issue with my apps. Apps like Pinterest, Tumblr, Swarm, Twitter looks fine but other apps like Facebook and Instagram are all stuck on zoomed mode. How do i fix this?

    Hello iankyliu,
It may be that the zoom accessibility feature has been enabled. The article linked below details how to go about turning it off.
iOS: Home screen icons are magnified or large
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3129
Otherwise, it may be Display Zoom that's enabled, which is explained in the iPhone User Guide.

  • After upgrade to Mavericks, AppleTV no longer mirrors my mid-2012 Macbook Pro's accessibility zooming.

Prior to Mavericks upgrade, I had accessibilty zooming enabled using the control hotkey with two-finger scroll.
The zoom effect would be duplicated in AppleTV and transmitted to an overhead projector in my classroom.
This feature is very useful for directing student's attention to a particular region of the screen.
However after the upgrade, AppleTV no longer mirrors the zooming effect.
I can see the zoom on the laptop, just not on my projector.
I can see zooming on the projector if I use the VGA adapter and plug directly into projector.
    Laptop:
    mid-2012 Macbook Pro
    OS X 10.9
    8gb RAM
    2.3 GHz Intel Core i7
Have tried variety of displays settings and none work including:
--selecting best for display or AppleTV
    --changing the resolution
    AppleTV
    model: MD199LL/A
    software: 6.0 (6646.65)
resolution: 1024x768 60hz (my projector requires this)
    Projector:
    HP vp6320
I use an HDMI to VGA/Audio adapter to convert to VGA for my projector.
I seem to recall that overscan correction was an option to set under Mountain Lion, but I can't find that when doing a Spotlight search in System Preferences. Not sure if that would help or not but thought I'd mention it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Same problem. Zoomed image will not show on the Apple TV screen even though it does show on your laptop or desktop.
I tried every aspect of System Preferences>Displays and Accessibility. None worked. Problem was presented to an Apple Specialist on his Mavericks computers and his Apple TV. Same thing. He said this appears to be a Mavericks glich and immediately went to transmit the problem to Cupertino.
A poor "work around" is to use System Preferences>Accessibility and under Zoom, select Zoom Style "Picture-inPicture" which will result in a "zoom box." The box can be scaled to a desired size and activated with the Control-Scroll motion. This box will display zoomed on the Apple TV screen. The default Zoom Style selection "Fullscreen" did not and will not show on the Apple TV screen even though it does show on your laptop or desktop
The problem: the zoomed "magnified" image loses resolution and if zoomed far enough, becomes "pixilated."
 Apple needs to fix this or tell us how to go back to the earlier Control-Zoom which I think the "Fullscreen" was intended.
