Displaying Albulm Artwork on iPod

PLEASE HELP!
When I first got my iPod I added all of my CD's. I was using an older version of iTunes and so none of the albulm artwork went on.
I recently downloaded the latest version of iTunes and was able to get all of the artwork for all of my CD's, which I can see on iTunes.
I've selected "display albulm artwork" in my iPod options, but it will only display the artwork for those albulms I've recently added.
How do I get iTunes to transfer over all of the new artwork for my original CD's to my ipod for display?

I had the same problem. What you want to do is right click on your mouse, over the album artwork in the viewer in iTunes. When you right click, it will give the option of Copying the artwork. Click "Copy" and then open up the album you want through the browser, go to edit, click on "Select All" and the songs in that particular album will highlight. Then, right click once more anywhere in the list of songs, and click get info, then when it asks you if you want to edit settings for multiple items, press ok. When the information window opens, you're going to see a box in the lower right hand corner of the window that says "Artwork." Right click on it, and the same album artwork that you copied from the artwork viewer will copy to that box in the information window, as long as you press "Paste." Then, in the checkbox next to the artwork box, check it off, and that information will transfer to your iPod, because everything on that screen is information that iTunes automatically syncs to the iPod, as long as you tell it to do so. It worked for me, hope it works for you too.

  • Displaying Video Artwork on iPod

Can I get my iPod to display artwork for videos I rip myself? When I look at the song file of the video under the labums section, the artwork does not appear on the iPod even though it does in iTunes. Any ideas?

All videos also get added into the song library of the iPod so that you can choose to play only the audio if, say, the iPod is in your pocket and you do not want to waste battery power on the visual you are not watching. Artwork then shows up with the song information, as if it was a normal song. This only occurs for me with the video I bought from iTunes, and not the ones I made myself. I want to change that.

  • Unable to display album artwork on iPod nano

I was able to download music to my iPod nano successfully, however, the album artwork does not come with it and appear on the screen. the artwork shows up on iTunes, but not on the iPod. what should i do?

Besa, I was able to download the album artwork to my iPod nano by restarting it. I have no idea what caused the problem, but at least I was able to fix it. Just press and hold the Menu and Center button at the same time for about 5 seconds, and then it will reset itself. I hope this helps!

  • Where's Display Album Artwork option? It's missing

I've read the document, I know where it's supposed to be...but it's not there.
My friend is having issues with her iPod Touch displaying incorrect artwork on her iPod, even though it shows correctly in iTunes. I told her to unsync the artwork then resync it. We connected her iPod, selected it under Devices, clicked on the Music tab....but the option to Display Album Artwork on iPod just isn't there.
    Any ideas? She's running 7.5 on a G5.

There is no option for the ipod touch to not sync artwork, it just does, you can't turn it on or off. If you are having problems with artwork mismatched, the thing to do is to turn off music syncing all together, sync the ipod, so all the music is erased from it. Then turn music syncing back on and let it resync. Make sure you have your music still in itunes or backed up before you erase it from the ipod, it will erase it.

  • Some of the album artwork on my iPod is wrong. I've tried to change it many times but it doesn't change. I've decided that the easiest thing to do now would be to NOT display album artwork on my iPod. How do I set my iPod to NOT display album art?

Why don't you, instead of taking time to do that, just backup, and then restore your iPod?

  • Error -50 when trying to display artwork on ipod 5th gen

I had this problem recently where the artwork went all wierd and wrong album covers were showing, so I thought that I'd remove all artwork using itunes (version 7.0.2.16) update the ipod, remove ipod, reset it, reconnect it and then update again with display artwork checked. It seemed like a good idea at the time but wasn't! Now all the artwork has been removed and when I try to apply 'display artwork on ipod' I get the following error message:
"ipod can't be updated. an unknown error occurred (-50)"
In short, I am now left with no artwork and can't seem to get any of it back onto my ipod despite the fact that it is all correctly atached to the tracks id and dispays ok in itunes.
Any ideas would be gratefully received...

Does anyone have a better solution? I am having this same error, and I really don't want to re-encode anything on my originals. I've done that in the past and I was unhappy with the resulting media in an ABX test. Why does iTunes have to be so picky. One of the songs is in my top 10 favorite that I listen to all the time, and as such I KNOW the song displays no obvious corruptions. AAC is the devil.

  • Displaying artwork on ipod

I have downloaded artwrok to i tunes and checked the box 'display album artwork on your ipod' However images appear on my p.c. but nothing appears on my ipod Any ideas?

I have had exactly the same error on my 5G iPod - stops half way through with 'Error - 50'. Now some iPod tracks have artwork whereas most do not. Also, I tried the same technique to uncheck album artwork - apply then check album artwork - apply on my iPod nano and again only about 50% of the artwork made it across to the iPod, but this time without the error message. Any clues gratefully accepted. NB - I 'Manually Manage' all my playlist on both iPods.

  • 160gb ipod classic won't display album artwork...sometimes

I have a 160GB iPod Classic (version 2.0.4 PC), and ran into a strange problem regarding displaying album artwork. Here's what I can describe:
--> When browsing through albums, any albums that have been added to my iPod or had their info changed since a certain time (not sure of the exact date but I believe it to be July 2013) do not display artwork.
--> If these albums are played, one song from the album will not display artwork, but all the rest will. I can't detect any set pattern as to which song won't display artwork once I update it, but I'm sure there's some pattern.
--> All the album artwork is displayed on Cover Flow and on iTunes, but not in these places.
--> It doesn't matter whether I downloaded the artwork directly through iTunes (i.e. clicked "Get Album Artwork") or put in artwork from a file on my computer, this happens literally every single time.

Probably, the easiest way to resolve this is to copy the artwork from one song on an album and paste it into every song on that album.
In your iTunes Library, choose an album that has artwork issues; choose one track that has the artwork and copy it. Then:
the slightly longer method is to check each song individually, until you find the one with the missing artwork. Paste (the copy previously made) from one of the other tracks on the album.
a slightly quicker method is to highlight all the songs on that album (make sure it is just that one album) and paste the artwork into the box.
Sync the iPod with your iTunes Library.

  • Where's the "Display album artwork on your iPod" preference?

Everything seems to work fine with iTunes 9.0.1 and my iPod Classic 80G, except that it doesn't seem possible to remove album artwork from the iPod. I just read the article "[Viewing album artwork on iPod|http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2317?viewlocale=en_US]" and I know that I just have to deselect the "Display album artwork on your iPod" preference in iTunes. The problem is that, after selecting my iPod under the Devices section in the iTunes Source pane, I can't find any such preference in the Music tab. I can see two radio buttons ("Entire music library" and "Selected playlists, artits, and genres") and one checkbox ("Include music videos"), but no "Display album artwork on your iPod" checkbox.
    Any idea?

Since when has the left hand known what the right hand is doing in any organiszation.
Can you give a reference supporting your statement ?
From Apple? No. Plenty of threads in here though, both builds of iTunes 9 released for Mac & PC have been missing this feature and people have given feedback. This is either a policy change and it will remain that way or it was accidentally omitted during the redesign in which case it may reappear in a future build. Either way the control isn't magically missing from just your copy, it's the same for all of us.

I recenly had my computer cleand and afterwards iTunes will not display album artwork. The artwork is still on my iPod but not on my computer. It displays a messages "iTunes is unable to display album covers on this computer". It all worked fine before my computer was cleaned out. Any ideas?

  • ITUNES 7 BUG NO ARTWORK IN IPOD

NO ARTWORK TRANSFERED TO UPDATED 5TH GEN IPOD = I updated to iTunes 7 twice (first time it erased my purchased item authorization). For second install I successfully updated the iPod firmware. PROBLEM now is it will not transfer the song artwork.
TRIED THESE (and I repair computers by the way)-
    Resetting iPod device...twice...no luck.
Unchecking the option to install artwork into iPod, letting it delete artwork...then rechecking it to reboot this feature...no luck.
DO NOT ASK ME TO RESTORE FIRMWARE, there is nothing wrong with the iTunes 7 updated firmware.
NOW I HAVE AN IPOD 30GB 5TH GEN PLAYER WITH NO ARTWORK TO DISPLAY. NO, APPLE PRODUCTS ARE NOT FLAWLESS AS THEY CLAIM IT TO BE.

Yup. It's a glitch for sure. But it doesn't have any ryme or reason. About 70% of all my album art will not display on my Ipod. But all the album artwork is there. When I plug my Ipod into Itunes and play songs, all the album art that I installed shows up in the picture box. But when i unplug the Ipod, no album art is displayed.
All music I have imported recently with album art shows up on my Ipod. But not all the album art that is already there.
So what I am doing is copying all my music from my Ipod onto my computer,
from there I am putting it onto Itunes,
allow Itunes to search for artwork that I did not do already (over 200 albums)
Then delete the music from my Ipod,
and finally reimport my Itunes Library back to my Ipod.
I have over 30 GB used so far (I have the 60 GB Ipod) so I do not keep all my music in my Itunes library. If I did, all I would have to do is re-sync the Ipod to my Itunes.

  • Artwork on ipod but doesn't show up when synced to itunes

I have a first gen. touch and I just downloaded the latest version of iTunes onto a new computer running Windows 7. Everything is working fine expect that when the touch is synced the artwork on the ipod doesn't show up in the itunes display window. The artwork in my itunes library displays, the artwork is displayed when using the touch...but itunes won't show any of the touch artwork in the artwork window. In other words all the artwork is there but itunes won't display it when ipod is synced.

I'm experiencing the same thing. Happened after I tried activating iTunes Match (not sure if it's related though).

  • Error When Trying to Re-check "Display Album Artwork"

Here's my issue, I have a 30 gb photo ipod and I added album artwork in iTunes to all of my music on my ipod. The artwork displays in iTunes, but does not show up on the iPod. When I go to iPod options in iTunes and uncheck, then recheck "Display album artwork on your iPod", I get "The iPod "(myname)" cannot be updated. An unknown error occurred (-50)." I updated to the latest iPod software, using iPod Updater 2005-06-26 and I also have the latest iTunes software (4.9). I see other people with the same type of error, but nobody getting the same error number as me.

Wow. I sure am impressed with the amount of help available to the average new iPod user! I started using the iPod (60gb/using newest iTunes on XP) about one week ago, and have had about three problems - all of which were resolved without panic or hassle by simply browsing forums or checking the manual.
I thought it was pretty cool to be able to place the artwork on the 'Pod while the song is playing, so I started throwing the art from amazon.com (an invaluable resource for album art!) to the 'Pod. Wouldn't you believe it - nothing showed up! iTunes showed it - I could see it - but nothing on the 'Pod! I tried the "check and uncheck show album art icon," at which time I started getting the "Cannot update [my iPod] - Unknown error -50" error. A bit of searching and WHAMMO! The answer is upon me! Unload all the music, add the art to the songs in iTunes, and reload the songs! I'm sure it'll work like a charm (without a doubt!).
I usually have limited amounts of time to tinker with the 'Pod, so I'm glad things can be solved so quickly! I'm also glad I've only got 5.6gb of tunes on the 'Pod that I have to re-load! My heart goes out to those who have customized artist info/track listings, however... As well as those who have the full 60 filled... It's got to be terrible to get news that you've got to unload that fine piece of machinery (apparently you can't say "s*cker" or "su*ka"). I'll definitely be sure to make any modifications (aside from volume controls from song to song) in iTunes before loading the songs to the 'Pod!
    Hurray!

  • Can't see multiple pictures in album artwork on iPod Classic?

I have used the facility to store different variations of album artwork against songs. When using iTunes, I can scroll through the various pictures in the bottom left hand panel that displays the artwork. However, on my ipod I can only ever see the first picture. Is there a way to see the others on my ipod?

No. Only the first picture listed in iTunes will display on the iPod.
