Displaying commas as per Indian Standards

Hi All,
I have a requirement like as follows.
In the purchase order the Total Value is coming like : 108,419.56 .
But i want to display the comma's in Indian format like : 1,08,419.56 .
How to overcome this issue

Hi..! I have checked it, but in defaults i couldnt find the notation that i wanted.
all the notations available there are with "," or "." after every three digits.
But i required the format should be like the coma "," should initially appear after three digits and then with two digits respectively (1,15,000.00) or (10,15,000.00)
is this possilble....by any way..?

iOS 6 will be available on Wednesday September 19 in the U.S. the actual time is not known. Therefore there is no way anyone can know when it will be available in your local time zone. Best is to keep checking if you need it that fast.
Keep in mind that update servers will be under high demand and may not repnd propery. It might be best to wait a week before try to update.

Try with this report - Cash Flow (Direct Method) S_ALR_87012271
If you want to use Report painter kindly execute the report there you can find out the layout which is already available in ASAP. From there we can copy or wrt to we can create new Layout for cash flow.
Procedure:
Execute report with suitable data in the out put screen you can able to seen the Form display button.
Choose form button
002 Financial Statement Key Figures and
select " 0CZ-CASHF-02 Cash Flow:Cz.Rep NEW
I think above report will helpful to you as per Indian GAAP.

numbers to view next set of records.

Displaying leading spaces in a Standard Report Column

Is there a way to display leading spaces in a standard report column in APEX?
I am using the following hierarchy query to left pad the metric title with spaces to indent subordinate records. The problem is that the APEX report truncates the leading spaces when the data is displayed.
I have replaced the spaces with an underscore, however the end users prefers white spaces for readability.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

LPAD only pads a single character to the left so doing something like LPAD(' ',(LEVEL -2)*5,' ') does not produce the expected results however placing LPAD inside a replace function does...
The following works as expected and places leading spaces at the begining of the metric title based on the hierarchy:

Disabling the display maximum rows per page

My project include many reports with table view, displaying 100 rows.
There is always arrows icon with the option to display maximum rows per page.
If user click on that option the OBIEE crashed, since there are a lot of rows.
I cannot decrese this number since all rows are required for other charts views.
a. Is there a way to set this parameter only for the table view?
b. Is there a way to disable this icon or not presenting it to the user?
c. Is there global way to coonfigure the default displayed rows number (e.g. from 100 to 20)?

unfortunately, you are limited to the SRW built-ins in Reports as far as setting object properties is concerned. I have checked this with the Metalink staff and I did get an admission out of them that this is true.
You can set the property in the property palette, but I'm not sure that this helps you as I take it you have a condition you would like to implement. I wish I could help you further, but Reports is limited in some areas, and setting object properties programmatically is one of them.

If an employee changes Company code,how his YTD cumulations in CRT table calculates as per SAP Standards ?

Please help me out in understanding below scenario.
If an employee changes from one company code to another code, how his/her YTD cumulates in CRT table as per SAP Standards.
Let me go with example to make a clear understanding.
Ex : Payroll has run for an employee upto payperiod 05. As per his pay assume that his /101 is 5000.
                         Monthly                  Yearly
PP 1      :           5000                       5000
PP 2      :           5000                      10000
PP 3      :           5000                      15000
PP 4      :           5000                      20000
PP 5      :           5000                      25000
In PP 6 he has shifted from one company code to another company code. Now, how the system cumulates as per SAP standards ?
PP 6       :           5000                        ?
Will the amount nullifies or else adds to previous PP5 ?

I understood the same. But my client is asking that the amount should nullify in CRT table for yearly when an employee changes company code.
And they have maintained different tax grouping for company codes in table v_t7ph0a. will that table makes any difference ?

it depends on ur data...
if it is currency then u can use
WRITE.... CURRENCY...
if it is qty then u can use
WRITE....UNIT....
or u simply pass it to a packed field and it will take the default decimal settings of the user profile...

I am using sql query which returns some 1000 records, i have to display 20 records per page. I am using an enterprise bean that has finder method which returns arraylist of records. From this arraylist i am displaying in the JSP page. If after selection, if other user updates in the database, This won't reflect in the jsp page. How should i go about?

You may have come across a situation where you need to cache some data in your server. You then use this cache to service queries from incoming requests. You will also probably have a thread that listens for cache update events. This thread updates the cache in response to these events.

We can place triggers on a table. These triggers can call a stored procedure when-ever a record is updated/inserted or deleted. If we are caching the data in our application server then obviously when this happens we will want to know about it. We can split databases in to two categories when we look at implementing this. Oracle and everybody else.
Oracle 8i
Oracle is the most elegant. I'm assuming you're using Oracle 8i. Oracle 8i has a builtin JMS mechanism. We can define a queue in Oracle. Our pl/sql (or Java) stored procedure gets attached to the trigger. The stored procedure enqueues a message on the Oracle queue. The message would describe the event that happened. Our application servers will run a thread inside the application server VM that subscribe to and then listen to this queue. When a legacy system or an application server modifies the database then our triggers will call this stored procedure. It then enqueues the message. If the transaction is commited then the message is commited and sent to the listeners. If the transaction is rolled back then it is not commited and not sent. If the transaction is commited then all our application servers will receive the message. They can then use the message contents to see what happened and update the cache accordingly.
Oracle 8 includes a full JVM. You could as an alternative use a Java stored procedure to multicast the event or send the event any way you choose. This isn't possible using Sybase or DB2 as they don't include the java.net package in the VM inside the database.
If you're using an older version of Oracle then there is a way to send messages over an Oracle connection from the server to a client. Check your OCI manual for details. This message will be sent though regardless of the transaction outcome unlike the Oracle AQ solution.

Restricting to Display 2 records per page simulteneously in Graph & Report

I am calling a column chart from Report using custom Query and I am mapping the Chart Column property in Report respectively to the chart.
The Repeating frame with respect to the Reports Records 'Max. records property' is set to 2. Hence the chart and the Report records are on the 3 pages as the Total records are 6.
But the chart is plotting all the 6 records even though the Report populates only 2 records per page. I require it to plot only respective records of the Report for that page in the chart not all the 6 records.
Pl. let me know how to Proceed

Display data as per the fiscal year

Hi All,
Need a suggestion with formula building:
I have 2 columns, date which is the start of a fiscal year (04/01) and total cost next to it.
I want to display only that fiscal year and a total cost which falls in current fiscal year. Please let me know how would i create a formula so it reads the system date and displays the fiscal year and cost according.
Here is a sample of data:
Date          Cost
04/01/2010     100$
04/01/2011     75$
So ideally my report should display only row 1 and when run after 04/01/11 ie after 2-3 days it should display row 2

Thanks for your response Shastry, but I am having trouble understanding it. Not sure how the above steps will read the current date.
To be more specific, I want to display only that cost that falls in fiscal year.
In above example now since it is 03/26/2011 and my fiscal year starts on 04/01 . I want to display cost from row 1 and when the same report will be run after 04/01/2011 it should display cost from row 2.
Like wise if the report is run after n number of years , it should display cost as per the fiscal year at that time.
So i guess the formula should really depend on system date/current date/ print date

Hello abhit,
If you don't know how to use tag libraries, you can do it ur own.
Just take your data in a List or Vector.
Keep two hidden fields with the startIndex as 0 and endIndex as 20.
update this values as 20 and 40 respectively after first iteration.
Now for each button click prev or next ,update ur loop control values as such there in the hidden fields.
use while loop and a boolean variable to indicate backward or forward moving. ok
