Displaying image in Dashabord and Answers
I have already put the image to the following folders:
C:\OracleBI\web\app\res\s_oracle10\images
And
C:\OracleBI\oc4j_bi\j2ee\home\applications\analytics\analytics\res\s_oracle10
The presentation service was restarted.
The report refers to the image as : fmap:images/your_namename.gif
The dash refers to the image as : fmap:impages/your_gif.gif
However the image is not displayed (only a red cross is available in the) in the report /dashboard.
can anyone please help.. thanks!
Hi check the below link, i have updated the step in detail
Re: Add new image in Conditional Column Format
Contents:
Try the two solution for this, go to
*1. This will use to call the images using fmap keyword*
<directory>:\OracleBI\web\app\res\s_oracle10\images
And
<directory>:\OracleBI\oc4j_bi\j2ee\home\applications\analytics\analytics\res\s_oracle10\images
folder copy your images (gif/jpg) in both the folders (images must be copied in both folders with same name).
Restart the ocj4_admin and BI presentation services.
You can refer the image by giving the following format fmap:images/youimagename.gif
*2. This will use to display images in the images browser*
<directory>:\OracleBI\web\app\res\s_oracle10\meters
And
<directory>:\OracleBI\oc4j_bi\j2ee\home\applications\analytics\analytics\res\s_oracle10\meters
Step i) Create a folder in the above two path with same name (i have taken MyImages)
Step ii) Copy your images in one subfolder like below (i have created a subfolder called setA)
<directory>:\OracleBI\web\app\res\s_oracle10\meters\MyImages\setA
And
<directory>:\OracleBI\oc4j_bi\j2ee\home\applications\analytics\analytics\res\s_oracle10\meters\MyImages\setA
Step iii) Leave one image in the MyImages folder with the name of index.gif. This will show in the left side legend of the image browser.
Now restart your oc4j_admin and bi presentation services.....
h1. Note:_
Must clear the browser cache and temprory internet files. Sometimes the changes are not get reflected even the services are restarted.
Hope this helps, let me know if you need more

Displaying Images in Results and Product Modules?
Hi folks,
I am confused on two issues. When I do a search or insert a product list module into a page, it is displaying as text only and not as images with text, as it appears in the insert option menu:
http://screencast.com/t/RHNmcGFY
I'm sure I'm doing something basic wrong, but I want to display the product list with images.
http://joden.businesscatalyst.com/edwardian-jewelry
Also, when my client tried to do this: E-Commerce>Products>Actions : Insert into web page, the module it created on the home page was blown apart in CSS by the <div class="featuredslider" id="products-featured"> even though we placed the module outside that div.
http://joden.businesscatalyst.com/
On the home page, I ended up creating a (unsuccessfully) specialized ul with the classes of the normal display layout : http://joden.businesscatalyst.com/antique-jewelry
but that won't work if she wants to update the page from time to time. What she wants to do is display not the catalog thumbmail for a New Items catalog, but a mini product list for brand new items in the New Items Catalog.
Thanks for the help.
JeffI thought these forums were for people who didn't know how to do something to learn from those who did.
Part of learning is learning whether to do something, not just how to do it. I see people on these forums all the time wanting to do some really stupid thing that's going to screw up their system or tick someone off. Would I be doing them a service if I did not try to point out such mistakes?
What I am looking for is a way to convert the Pages document into a better format for emailing. html would be great.
Unfortunately (or fortunately if you have the same view of HTML e-mail that I do), Mail does not make it easy to edit HTML e-mails. Although a rich text message is actually HTML, I don't honestly know how to edit the HTML itself. But, again, you're going to have much more success printing the Pages document to a PDF and uploading that to a web site, then e-mailing the link. You can't predict how another e-mail client is going to display anything other than plain text. -

How to create a report in Form line Style and can display Image field?
Hi,
In Report builder 10g, I would like to create a Report with Form Line Style and this report included a Image field.
I can choose this Style only when Select Report type is Paper Layout. Because, If I choose Create both Web & Paper Layout or Create Web Layout only then in the next Style tab 03 option Form, Form letter and Mailing Label be Disabled.
But in Paper Layout, my report can not display Image field.
I tried with Web layout and all the other Styles (Except 03 mentioned be Disabled) then all Styles are displayed Imager field OK.
How to create a report in Form line Style and can display Image field?
I was change File Format property of my Image field from text to Image already in Property Inspector. But report only showed MM for my Image field.
Thanks & regards,
BACH

bachnpHere you go..Just follow these steps blindly and you are done.
1) Create a year prompt with presentation variable as pv_year
2) Create a report say Mid report with year column selected 3 times
- Put a filter of pv_year presentation variable on first year column with a default value say @{pv_year}{2008}
- Rename the second time column say YEAR+1 and change the fx to CAST(TIME_DIM."YEAR" AS INT)+1
- Rename the second time column say YEAR-1 and change the fx to CAST(TIME_DIM."YEAR" AS INT)-1
Now when you will run Mid Report, this will give you a records with value as 2008 2009 2007
3) Create your main report with criteria as Year and Measure col
- Change the fx for year column as CAST(TIME_DIM."YEAR" AS INT)
- Now put a filter on year column with Filter based on results of another request and select these:
Relationship = greater than or equal to any
Saved Request = Browse Mid Report
Use values in Column = YEAR-1
- Again, put a filter on year column with Filter based on results of another request and select these:
Relationship = less than or equal to any
Saved Request = Browse Mid Report (incase it doesn't allow you to select then select any other request first and then select Mid Report)
Use values in Column = YEAR+1
This will select Year > = 2007 AND Year < = 2009. Hence the results will be for year 2007,2008,2009
This will 100% work...

Display image in forms & reports developed on windows and deployed on Unix
Hi,
We are upgrading from Forms and reports 6i to forms10g.
We need to insert image in forms and reports. Recompile and deploy on unix server.
So can anyone let me know the exact steps to create jar file containing images, where to place the jar file.
Corresponding folder, file and configuration changes required on windows and unix.
Av.Hi Frank,
thanks for the link it helped me in understanding how images work for forms.
But my real concern is how this will work in reports?
As we dont have any reportsweb.cfg nor any java path for reports?
Can you help me in understanding how to embed image in reports that will be displayed even after porting the report on unix oas.

Upload and display image in webside
Hello Friends,
I am developing an auction web site ,and facing some problem so I need your help.
There is some confusion about uploading and displaying images in website .In web based
application if I want to upload images than where have to store the images database or server
side any folder .I have not idea about that please send your ideas and sussesions.
Second problem is What is the best way to display images in webside either giving a direct
path of server side image folder or I need to retrieve all images from database .
I have no idea about it please send me your guideline which are usefull for me to implement in my
website.
what is the correct way to upload and display images in website ?
Thanks . Have a nice day.If you are using a Container you just leave your image files in the home directory of your web application. And forget this idea about database. It´s not necessary in this case.
To display the images just use HTML, <img src="url">. -
How to retrieve and display image from database in a web page
Hi all;
I have been trying this for some time now. I have found some tutorials so far but none of them addresses my concern. Here it is:
I have built a web application that can connect to an Oracle DB.
I have a table called "employee", where I record any employee details, among which the employee picture. I stored the pictures and the finger prints using "Oracle sql developper" as blob type.
How can i retrieve and view all these information when i run the application?
I can easily retrieve all other types of value, but the image(BLOB type) has been a nightmare for me.

I believe your Binary Large Obejct will come back as an array of int, and you'll need to use BufferedImage it's associated API to get it to a viewable image configuration.I don't think BufferedImage immediately solves the problem -- this is a web app, so I assume the image will be displayed using the HTML IMG tag.
Solution: google. There are many example of how to do this. For example, any book on servlets will have an example of dishing up a dynamic image. -
