Displaying images in Briefing Book

Hi,
We are using Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition v10.1.3.4.
In OBIEE Answers, we have two reports and one dashboard page that hold these two reports. It is to be noted that the measure columns in both the reports have some images based upon the criteria specified in "Conditional Formatting" for the measure columns.
With the above setup in place, here is the problem scenario:
When we create a Briefing Book and individually add the two reports to it, all works fine. The display generated by "Get Now" and "Print Now" buttons in the briefing book is OK.
However, if we create a Briefing Book and add the dashboard that contains the two reports (and not the reports themselves), then the display that is generated using the "Get Now" and "Print Now" buttons does not show the images in the measure columns - instead it shows a red X mark in place of the images.
If we add either of the report to this briefing book now, the red X marks are replaced by the corresponding images for that report.
In essence, we are not being able to display the images in the measure columns if we add the dashboard page (containg the reports) to the briefing book rather than adding the reports themselves.
Any help is much appreciated.
Best Regards,
Piyush

a few points that i can check
If you can see it in RRP3 then you should also be able to see the sales orders in the Standard SAP planing book based on 9ASNP94 planning area. can you see this?
if so .. your planning area is not set right
check if you have intialized the planning area and if your planning book has the required KF setup properly and similar to what you have set up in the Standard book
Also check if your MPOS that is attached to the new planning area is set up correctly
another point to check is if your selection id is properly selected when you load on to the planning area

  • How to change Default number of rows displayed in a Briefing Book

    Hi,
We have a requirement to deliver a dashboard containing 7 dashboard pages to the business users.
To achieve this, I have created a briefing book by adding all the required dahboard pages and scheduled an agent to deliver the briefing book in PDF format. However, the briefing book delivered by the agent shows only 25 rows for all the analysis (reports) included in the dashboard pages.
I have already made the following settings:
    1. At the report level, edited the table view property to show 150 Rows Per page.
    2. At the dashboard page level, edited the PDF and Print properties to Print All Rows.
    3. Edited the instanceconfig.xml file to include the following tag under <Table> tag: <DefaultRowsDisplayedInDelivery>15000</DefaultRowsDisplayedInDelivery>
Please advise if there is any setting which can help in increasing the default number of rows in a Briefing Book (OBIEE 11.1.1.3).
    Thanks & Regards,
    Sumit

    Hi,
This is a bug in 11.1.1.3
Bug 12671370 - BRIEFING BOOKS DO NOT SHOW ALL ROWS
As a workaround, you may want to click on the "Display Maximum(500) rows per page" button on the dashboard page before you download to Briefing books. This will work for reports with less than 500 rows.

  • HT1553 I restored my hard drive from time machine. Why is iPhoto not displaying images properly?

I restored my hard drive from time machine after power blinks corrupted the file system so badly that disk utility could not repair it. Since then, iPhoto has not displayed images correctly. Events are there, and blank squares are shown, but that's all. I rebuilt small and all thumbnails and permissions -- I think the top three or four options in the iPhoto rebuild utility, which took five hours to do but which seems not to have changed anything. The iPhoto library is still more than 100GB, so the photos are there. I didn't choose rebuild from backed up --- whatever the final option on the rebuild menu offers -- because that seems to be appropriate only when a backup is interrupted. Could certainly do it, though. How do I get iphoto behaving again? I have full time machine backups saved automatically and another fairly recent copy on a separate hard drive stored remotely. Thanks for whatever help anyone can provide. I've looked at existing questions and solutions without success so far.

What version of iPhoto and system are your running?  Since you've tried rebuilding with iPhoto give this a try:
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
    Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments. However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.
If you have an external HD you might want to have the rebuilt copy created on it unless you have well more than 100 GB available on your boot drive.

  • Displaying images from ORDSYS.ORDIMAGE columns

Does anyone know, if Oracle9i Reports can display images fetched from ORDIMAGE columns in the database? If so, could you give me a brief explanation how?
    Thanks in advance!

    Jacob,
As of now , it is not supported. It is under development for next release.
It currently supports images stored in DB as LOBs

  • Problem with Briefing Books and iBots

I have a question about the usage of Briefing Books and iBots:
In my Briefing Book there are different analysis, some with tables and others with charts and graphs.
The problem is, when I send this Briefing Book to my email by iBot, then the file attached to the email does not contain the charts anymore. There are just the tables left. When I watch the same Briefing Book directly in Answers, everything is displayed all right.
Does anyone know, why this happens.

    Hi there
If the page is not actually inside of a Book, the WebHelp generation process will sense that.
If you want a Book, try right-clicking the page in the TOC editor and choose "Create Book from Page". This should create a book with the page inside it. Of course both will have the same name, so you may need to rename the Book. Or rename the page. Your choice.
    Cheers... Rick

Also, there is no luck with displaying text content from a file, using printDoc
tag. Can some one point me to right resource.

    Hi panji,
I used 7.0 tag lib, just to make use of "printDoc" tag which is available in 7.0version
only and not in 810. However, i figured out a way to display image using 8.1 (
    of course, by using request.getContextPath() + "/ShowBinary" + imagedoc.getPath())
But still, i do not find a way to display a doc type file in jsp, which is my
    original problem.
As per the edocs at http://edocs.bea.com/workshop/docs81/doc/en/core/index.html,
    <cm:getProperty node="<%=doc_node%>" name="file"/>
should be able to display a txt file but nothing is getting rendred onto jsp.
( i have created a book type content in the repo. and file attached is of type
    txt ).
Can you pls give some clue what i am missing here?
    thanks

  • Help with displaying images (gif, jpeg...) within a JFrame (or similar)

    Hi all,
i'm new to the forum and i'll be granted if you kind gentlemen/women could use some advices for my gui home application.
My purpose is to display a static image in a container (i'd prefer to use javax.swing objects, but if you think that java.awt is more suitable for my app, please feel free to tell me about...). I used a modified code from one of the Java Tutorial's examples, tht actually is an applet and displays images as it is using the paint() method. I just can't realize how to set the GraphicContext in a JFrame or a JPanel to contain the image to display, without using applets. Following part of the code I use (a JButton will fire JApplet start, JApplet is another class file called Apple.java):
    class DMToolz extends JFrame {
         private static final long serialVersionUID = 1L;
         private JPanel jContentPane = null;

Read the Swing tutorial on "How to Use Labels" or "How to Use Icons" for working examples:
    http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/uiswing/TOC.html
By the way you should never override the paint() method. Custom painting (not required in this case) is done by overriding the paintComponent(...) method in Swing. Overriding paint() is an old AWT trick.

  • Displaying image in a TableView

    Hi,
Can we display images in a tableView? what I like to do is, when user click a row, a picture(maybe the picture of a person) can be displayed in the same grid?

A search in Google for "image in table cocoa" brings up a few good links. The Irate Scotsman, Matt Gemmell, has a good example on his source code page. He's actually got a few versions of this page floating around but this link works best for now. Search the page for "image in table". It sounds like you might also be interested in his Address Book Test.
I would suggest downloading all of his source code. He's got a lot of great examples.
The Apple Developer article on using Bindings for images in a table is good if you're working with Bindings.
The Theocacao post about smoother image scaling is good and he offers the source for the subclass he describes. This post is featured on Cocoa Dev Central which is a great resource.
Another site you should bookmark is CocoaDev. If you think of posting there, be sure to look into the Starting Points and the Other Points before you do. There's some helpful stuff in CocoaIntroduction, CommonProblems, and SampleCode. Of course HowToUseThisSite is essential, as is HowToAskQuestions.

I hope evreything is clear, I'm italian sorry for the bad english
    thanks to everyone

Create a JLabel to display the image - eg as described in the (currently)
    adjacent post http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=5128582
Add the JLabel to a JInternalFrame
    http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/api/javax/swing/JInternalFrame.html
Add the JInternalFrame to your JDesktopPane
    http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/api/javax/swing/JDesktopPane.html
Internal frames are described in Sun's tutorial here:
    http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/uiswing/components/internalframe.html
You should ask Swing questions in the [url http://forum.java.sun.com/forum.jspa?forumID=57]Swing forum.

    Hello again!
Anyone that can help me figure out how to implement this in an MVC layout, I feel stuck.
I post a little program that open and display an image file so that you better can understand what I whant to do.
    ShowImage

  • How to create a report in Form line Style and can display Image field?

    Hi,
In Report builder 10g, I would like to create a Report with Form Line Style and this report included a Image field.
I can choose this Style only when Select Report type is Paper Layout. Because, If I choose Create both Web & Paper Layout or Create Web Layout only then in the next Style tab 03 option Form, Form letter and Mailing Label be Disabled.
But in Paper Layout, my report can not display Image field.
I tried with Web layout and all the other Styles (Except 03 mentioned be Disabled) then all Styles are displayed Imager field OK.
How to create a report in Form line Style and can display Image field?
I was change File Format property of my Image field from text to Image already in Property Inspector. But report only showed MM for my Image field.
    Thanks & regards,

Here you go..Just follow these steps blindly and you are done.
    1) Create a year prompt with presentation variable as pv_year
    2) Create a report say Mid report with year column selected 3 times
    - Put a filter of pv_year presentation variable on first year column with a default value say @{pv_year}{2008}
    - Rename the second time column say YEAR+1 and change the fx to CAST(TIME_DIM."YEAR" AS INT)+1
    - Rename the second time column say YEAR-1 and change the fx to CAST(TIME_DIM."YEAR" AS INT)-1
Now when you will run Mid Report, this will give you a records with value as 2008 2009 2007
    3) Create your main report with criteria as Year and Measure col
    - Change the fx for year column as CAST(TIME_DIM."YEAR" AS INT)
    - Now put a filter on year column with Filter based on results of another request and select these:
Relationship = greater than or equal to any
Saved Request = Browse Mid Report
Use values in Column = YEAR-1
    - Again, put a filter on year column with Filter based on results of another request and select these:
Relationship = less than or equal to any
Saved Request = Browse Mid Report (incase it doesn't allow you to select then select any other request first and then select Mid Report)
Use values in Column = YEAR+1
This will select Year > = 2007 AND Year < = 2009. Hence the results will be for year 2007,2008,2009
    This will 100% work...
