Displaying Korean in Text messages.

Hello all,
I've recently have had a weird issue displaying Hangul (Korean) in text messages.
I used to receive and view them no problem with all the correct characters as text in the SMS chat windows, until maybe a few months ago.
Now what happens, is any text containing Hangul comes through as a random URL to view. If i click that URL it brings me to jpg in Safari that I can view and read the text/hangul. Any reason why? I am being sent most of this from another iPhone too. I have the Korean Keyboard enabled as well, and the latest version of the iOS4 installed.

This sounds like an issue with your network provider. You get a similar thing if you receive an MMS when your service is not provisioned for receiving an MMS. Call you network provider and ask them.

Hold the home button and the Sleep/Wake button ignoring the slide to power off message until the phone turns off then you can repower it by pressing and holding the sleep/wake button for a few seconds until the apple logo appears.

Display of long text message

Helllo Expert,
I want to display a long message, In module pool program . I have maintain the other message of the program in message class but the long message is not fitting into the message class. the message which I want to display is *"Data saved. Market group (&) and market super group (&) saved. Market (&), market (&) and market super group (&) saved" I have tried using text-xxx but it's not allowing after WITH only 4 field allowed.

HELPSCREEN_NA_CREATE
to display the long text of the message!

9300i stops displaying names in text messages

I have a 9300i phone and until two days ago it displayed the text sender's name for received messages. Now it displays the number. This is happening with all messages and they are in my address book with the correct number.
If i select a text message and press 'call sender' it then displays the number and also the name from my contacts.
I don't remember changing any settings.
Has anyone experienced this before?
Is there a setting I can check to turn on name resolution?

no, it was very strange i rebooted the phone twice and that didnt work.
I was typing a text message and it bombed, and when it came back up again it seems to be working properly now.
That is, i've had two texts and it shows both names correctly. I'll have to see how it goes.

SMS text message header does not display sender information

When I receive a text message the only header information that displays is the date and time. The senders information does not display. The lines are not even there. There is no way to reply to a text message or tell who the sender is. This problem is only with SMS messages. Regular email headers display just fine. I have done a wipe, reset, reload, everything possible with no luck. I am the only one in my office with this problem. I have not been able to find any information or postings from anyone having the same problem. I can read the text message, but there is no header (except for the date and time). Any thoughts?
Blackberry Curve 8350i

I was able to resolve the problem by uninstalling the Blackberry desktop manager software and reinstalling it selecting Internet Email vs. Blackberry Enterprise Server. If you get to the screen that asks you to choose which type of email service you use and you accidentally choose the wrong one your phone will work but will do strange things, including sending all sorts of redirect emails. For me, this seemed to do the trick.

Text Message display on Curve 9360

Hi...just got a new Curve 9360. The default text message display shows all messages i.e. if I've sent a text most recently that is what I see at the top. What I want it to do is show the SMS Inbox (which I can navigate to via the folder options, but I can't find a way to set it as a default). Can't work out how to do it either on the device or when connected to the PC. Any suggestions...?...R

Do you mean that currently ALL of your email messages and SMS text messages are mixed in one folder when you view, and you want to see a folder on your homescreen of ONLY your SMS text messages? And your email messages in another folder?
If so, on your device, open that Messages folder > press the Menu key > Options > Inbox Management and check the box on "Text Messages", and save. That will put an SMS Text message folder on your screen.

Displaying Text message or Symbol while processing the BI Publisher Report

Hello,
I have a BIP report embedded in a dashboard along with the Dashboard prompt.
After clicking the 'View' button of the BIP report it shows a processing symbol and displaying like 'Processing..to cancel click here'.
Where as BIP report is not showing anything after the prompts selection but it is running the report and displaying after some time.
This gives the end user a wrong impression that whether the report is executed or still processing.
Is there any way to set a text message or a processing symbol to show progress after the prompt selection?

I tried running the above report from the machine where BI PUBLISHER has been installed,I was able to save reports with different names to the folder.How can I run the report from my machine?What path should I give when we do not run from the server?

Text Message # displays instead of Contact

Text message contact name is not displaying... only their number. Despite having the contact name and number in "contacts". Also, i have confirmed the number is the exact same in contacts book as it is in the received text message. I am on Sprint and iPhone4S.
Any ideas/recommendations?

Even just going back to the list of converstatoins (button in top left) you will not get alert sound while in the App. Again, it assumes you are looking at it and seeing the indicators pop up for number of messages etc for each conversation.
You have to be out of the app for it to give a sound.
If you are not expecting a msg right away then why stay in it? Press home and go back to home screen and wait.

Some Text Messages do not display when using large font on iphone

When using increased font size (accessability function) on iphone some text messages will not display. The iphone just seems to lock up. If normal font size is used text massage displays with out any issue. When font size is increased, text message will not display again.

Actually, Captivate does have an essentially unlimited number
of undo levels. But that number may appear to be different. The
number of levels starts when you begin editing the project. If you
close and re-open a project, that starts the undo process over.
I've tested and I gave up after about 280 or so undos.
Where Captivate doesn't allow an undo, it normally warns you
with a rather catastrophic looking dialog.

When I receive text messages, it displays phone number instead of contact name.

I updated to iOS 5 on my iPhone 4 over the weekend. Since updating to iOS 5, all of my text messages show up with a phone number listed instead of the contacts name. I checked my contact info and all the contact information is listed and the numbers under the contact are correct. Has anyone else had this issue and if so have you discovered any resolutions?

Following a tip from another poster, I was able to fix the issue (temporarily).
This worked for me on Verizon.
I dialed *228 on my Verizon phone. I pressed "1" to activate it over the air. I then went into task manager and killed all the running apps.. Waited a few minutes.
The next text I got displayed the number correctly!.. Until I rebooted, that is.
Ps. PLEASE, call Apple and speak with a senior engineer on this. They can't fix it if they don't know it's a problem! (800) MY-IPHONE

Outlook, text message, sender's name doesn't display

I am using Outlook to send text messages, but when messages come in, it only lists the phone number, not the name of the sender. All of the contacts
are in my contacts, with their mobile phone numbers, and when I go to send a text I can just type in their name, and Outlook recognizes them. How do I get Outlook to display the name of the sender?

Please make sure these messages from external contacts or internal users. If these messages from external contacts, please make sure whether the issue occurs when you receive a messages from internal user.

Importing from Eudora problems - html messages being displayed in plain text and problems with attachments

Hello,
I hope you can help me. I've imported all my emails from Eudora into Outlook 2010 but I have a couple of problems.
All emails that I've imported which had attachments with them have a notice on them saying the attachment has been blocked. I can always browse to the folder whereb my old attachments are stored, but this is still inconvenient.
Secondly, all my messages that I've sent in the past (html) are being displayed in plain text, which is making them difficult to read because of all the html tags being displayed.
Also with emails that I've sent in the past- there is no record of any attachments being sent with messages which I know had attachments with them.
Any ideas? I've trawled google and had no luck except finding programs that cost $70 that can import everything properly.

I know this is a very old thread, but did you every figure out a way to fix the formatting of imported Eudora mail?
I just "upgraded" from Eudora to Outlook 2010 ...
and have 10 years worth of HTML formatted e-mail that now shows up as plain text with embedded html formatting ...
apparently it is a long-running problem that has roots in the way Eudora formats messages ...
Outlook and other e-mail clients all seems to have issues with importing and do not properly recognize HTML-formatted messages from Eudora ... very sad that I can no longer really "read" my old e-mail at this point ... :-(

That would be imessage and not text message.
As stated by sberman, it's because the users are sharing apple id.
On each devices - settings - message - send&receive- remove or uncheck the apple ids.

Contact name not displaying for texts/messages, only phone number does

When I turn on my iPhone 6 (iOS 8.0.2) in the morning (I shut it off at night), any received text messages (iMessages or standard texts) only show the phone number of the person who sent the text and the standard tone for texts is heard, when it should display the name and play the special text tone I setup on specific contact records. It is not til after I use the Touch ID or enter my passcode that the name of the contact who sent the text displays AND the special text tone for that contact is heard. This not normal behavior. Even upon startup on my former iPhone (5), any texts received displayed the contact name and played the appropriate tone when the phone was turned on during the morning. HELP! I believe this is a bug; but, would like to have this confirmed. If it's a setting or combination of settings that I'm missing in iOS 8.0.2, please let me know.
My contacts have never been stored in iCloud nor do I plan to use iCloud.

Try this: when device is ON remove the battery, wait a minute and turn the battery back to the device.
