You can't stream MPEG4 with Flash. Flash does not support any
video format except FLV.

Hello all,
I work under linux and this camera only works with Internet Explorer. So I would like to retrieve the stream (a MPEG4 stream called video.vam) from my IP Camera and just see it in a JEditorPane. (or any other componant...)
The address of the camera is one like this:

Wanted to see if anyone knows what path to use to view the mpeg4 stream thru VLC from a linksys WVC80N IP camera. I've been successful in viewing the mjpeg stream using the following path:

Hi all,
I work on a web application that, among others, generates Pdf documents. It renders them directly within the IE window by "streaming" the content of the Pdf in the response output stream. Note that we also add the header "Cache-Control", "no-store, no-cache, must-revalidate,post-check=0, pre-check=0" to the response.
Everything was fine with previous version of reader but since I installed Adobe reader X the content of the Pdf is not showing any more in my browser.
Here is what I already investigated:
- if I use another machine with an "older" Reader version, it works. If I save the displayed Pdf and try to open it on the machine where X is installed it works
- if I remove the the Cache-Control header, then it works with reader X installation
Do you have any idea what changed between version 9 and X that could lead to this issue ?
To ease diagnostic I created a sandbox environment to reproduce the problem, you can go to the following address to see what's happening (or not in case you have version X installed)

We have semiliar problems in sweden with Adobe Reader X 10.1 Swe and Internet Explorer 8.0 with streamed PDF files.
We had some issues and got them resolved by the following
Upgraded to Adobe Reader 10.1.2.45 Eng

- Grey box in Internet explorer: http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/pdf-opens-grey-screen-browser.html
- Add site as trusted: Edit-> Preferences, unbox Enable Enhanced Security + add the host/url to site that is whitelisted to send pdf files
(the Automaticly trust sites from mu Win OS security zones doesnt work for us)
The thing is we run MUI pack on our Citrix servers and want Adobe Reader in Swe but it havent been translated yet...
So we have to wait for the swedish release on Adobe Reader X 10.1.2

Sorry, I am new to the Web Dynpro environment, so this might seem like a stupid question.
How can I display streaming HTML content in a Web Dynpro application. The IFrame element only seems to allow you to point to a URL. In this case, I am receiving an HTML stream back from an R/3 system via a BAPI call.

As per your question, I understand that HTML output is getting generated through a R3- Bapi call. Fine, create a model with the data binding to the context to some text view. Simply create view with the relevant UI element through which you want to exhibit the data and call the R3 call through your model. instead of a HTML output, you will get your data in the view.
you may not get the exact format / style of the html output.
Otherwise, directly HTML content cannot be shown in webdynpro. You need to have some UI control to take its content.
Or else, you can go in for j2ee stack and end up with a java based appl, use a simple jsp and get the output!

Problems with solving a JMF - JFFMpeg/gstreamer/fobs4java mpeg4 - stream

im doing a final at univerity, the aim is to enable JMF to play AND stream mp3, mpeg4, aac
im already trying to get more than the basic JMS-stream (h.263) to work, for a couple of days of intensive work. only things i know now, is, that it is a lot more work than i expected first.. tryed it with gstreamer, JFFMpeg, FFMpeg-java, fobs4java, ... only things which worked been local player .. but the JMS in combination with upper named plugins lost even the ability to stream anything...
am i doing something very wrong, does any one know about some solutions which work already? or did same i am doing now?
im wondering if theres some one out there who has a bit more know how or may have a few hints or even some solutions
would be very happy about some help

Retina Display and streaming non HD video

how does non HD video content look on the MBP-R in Full Screen mode?
Is its blury like the non optimized Apps or website content?
Is it even more blurry?
Reason why I am asking:
Watching series online on a regular screen pretty often looks ok but not great. Depending on the internet speed and the movie qualitity you can see the compression in the picture and so see the pixel. How does this look on the new retina display?
Has anyone of the early owner time and motivation to check and post a screenshot?
(like streaming from hulu, youtube or iwatchnetw....)
Thanksit looks great, but once your eyes have got used to the retina-quality desktop, 1080p would just looks "so-so"

Basically I get yuv frames from video capture card... I've to translate these into RBG frame and then convert them into images I can display at a specific rate.
We can do this by using the hidden classes of JMF like com.sun.media.codec.video.colorspace.YUV2RBG and the javax.media.util.BufferToImage.BufferToImage. I've just now to find how to build the buffer needed for the YUV2RBG :-(

I am new to AppleTV. I bought it and an iPad2 at about the same time. I've been an Aperture user for years but not so much lately. I am having fits with Aperture crashing as soon as I open it. I mean on the first click or before. I simply can't get into Aperture at all during the last 20 tries or so. I'm really rather freaked out about it. I have a wedding to upload and a few other recent events totally thousands of photos that I can't get off the SD cards. Thankfully I'm not a professional but my niece is anxious to see her photos nonetheless.
I don't know if the galleries in MobileMe even exist anymore but that was my idea as an alternative place to try to access photos from my computer to see them on AppleTV. It might have been my high level of frustration and despair but I could not find a way to move the photos to MobileMe from Aperture (on the day I could get into Aperture). Export does not list MobileMe as an optional destination. It's been too long since I sent anything to MobileMe and I can't remember how I did it.
In the past and even today I've successfully accessed a few of my photos in Aperture through my AppleTV2. Thankfully, Aperture does not need to be open to see the photos. However, my problem is that when I stream through AppleTV I can only get to a miniscule fraction of my photos. I have a selection of projects that will appear on my TV but the vast majority of the projects list only ONE photo in the project when there are dozens, hundreds or thousands in the various projects.
I tried making some new projects and that partially worked. Some of the ones I just made still only show one photo but I made one with about a thousand scenic photos that sort of worked. I loaded it to play during a party today and about 500 were listed in the folder when I started the slideshow. I didn't count them as they played, of course, but it certainly seemed they replayed more than I wanted them too in spite of the five second time selection. I will move that to 10 seconds next time. What I really want to do is have access to large groups of different photos I have in Aperture. I want to pull in a mix of trip locations, wildlife, scenic shots, etc. It would be nice if Aperture picked up Smart Albums and not just projects.
I have multiple problems going on: computer freezes, cursor moves but won't click and keyboard becomes unresponsive, flashing artifacts and horizontal lines, CRASHES galore. Right now I'm feeling kind of panicked it's going to crash before I hit "post message". If you can offer any guidance in any of these areas, your help will be deeply appreciated.John, thanks for pointing out that pathway to send files to MobileMe. I was looking under Export.
Yes, I know that some of my concerns may be better suited to other forums but all of my problems hinge around updating to Aperture 3 and Snow Leopard at the same time. Therefore I have no clue if it's one or the other or a toxic combination of both that has brought me such misery. My problems cross into several categories. I've prowled the forums (communities) for many months looking for advice.
If I can ever get back into Aperture I will surely try your "update previews" suggestion. I did the Repair Permissions and it just finished as I was typing here. It opened Aperture for a couple of seconds and crashed in the background. I got the same crash with the Repair Database. I'm now doing the third Option/Command option in Aperture of rebuilding the database. I don't know what to do if those repairs/rebuilds don't work.
I have the program on my number one hard drive with over 300 GB free space. My libraries are on my second 1 TB HD with 369 GB of free space. I've been accessing Aperture with nothing else running and that doesn't help. I have four 512 MB DDR2 FB-DIMM cards. I would love to have more RAM but that's all I've got right now. I also wonder if my Graphics Card is toast for the new OS and version of Aperture. I don't know enough about computers to figure this out and I'm hoping someone will have the solution I need. -

I try to display a video stream (successives images) in Java component.
With a simple swing component, it's not possible to display 25 fps for a 640x480 resolution.
With SWT, we arrive to display about 15 fps for a resolution 640x480 but the use of the CPU is very important.
Do you know an efficient system to display video stream?
Thanks.Firstly if you're loading images with Toolkit you'll nbeed to use MediaTracker (see the Javadoc for full and clear instructions).
Secondly, be aware of how long it takes to load image data, allocate the memory for it, and decode it. This is where you're going to suffer and it's the fundamental flaw in the plan of simulating video by flipping single frames: it's highly unlikely you'll manage it quickly enough. As above, 50ms is quite optimistic.
You could do your loading up-front and buffer a load of images - there are a few strategies you could use for this. But bear in mind that (a) this is going to be very memory hungry, and (b) if your image load time is greater than your frame display time you're always going to be fighting a losing battle. But it should work for very small animations.
Run yourself some tests: write yourself a simple test class which just loads an image in its main() method using a MediaTracker. It'll tell you how long loading the image takes. Of course, if you're doing it in an applet then you've got all sorts of other factors to consider and the load times will be high. -
Advice? Displaying multiple text streams
I've got a file format that contains up to 2 essentially independent styled text streams. I would like to display each stream in a visually independent text view (i.e. if 2 text streams, then 2 panes with scroll bars) and allow changes to be saved back to this single file in the same format.
I'm wondering what the best way to accomplish this is with the Swing text system? I've studied the Swing text documentation and I have two radically different ideas on how to go about this, but I was wondering if anyone else has better ideas than I.

First, Swing text using JTextPane uses a model/view/controller paradigm. The controller, EditorKit, seems to be responsible both for initializing the model (Document) from the persistent storage (a file), and indirectly for setting up view objects in the JTextPane. One idea was to subclass EditorKit with something that knows how to read my file type. I may also need a custom StyledDocument subclass that knows about the 2 parts. I may also need a custom ViewFactory and some custom Views. This approach boils down to: I need to learn the Swing text system a whole lot better before even trying.
The other approach is to say, ok, EditorKit will not do the reading and writing of the file. Instead I'll invent a class that can do that. This class would read each section into its own StyledDocument. Then I would have 2 JTextPane's, and attach these new initialized StyledDocuments to the respective JTextPanes. Alternatively, I could get the existing StyledDocument from the JTextPanes and my as-yet-non-existent class could read the sections into those StyledDocuments. This bypasses the i/o part of the EditorKit and lets it do whatever else it does--hopefully having the Document initialized by something other than the EditorKit itself would not be a problem.
Those are the two approaches I had so far thought of. -

BTW: make sure you have all your codecs updated on XP (SP3) by using something like CCCP codec support. this caused me major headaches. as the media player kept on crashing if you pressed the start button more than once.
I now need to show a stream via either RTP or UDP . my idea is too use the VLC player and stream the video and then use the media player to display the stream within my application

Mpv stopped displaying video, only plays audio
Suddenly mpv stopped opening my video files, it didn't open its screen and just played the audio, forcing me to kill the process. I ran mpv on a terminal and got the following output:

That never happened and I didn't change anything on my config file, here's the `vo` option:

I thought the error happened because I had tried to fix my HDMI audio issues and set a kernel parameter (radeon.audio=1), but upon its removal the issues on mpv persisted. Video ran fine on mplayer, though, but I never made a config file for it.

Isn't VDPAU used for nVidia and there are some VAAPI wrappers for ATI and Intel cards?
