Displaying paths of referenced images

I would like to see the path to the finder of my referenced images. Not one by one, using "Show in Finder" nor using "Locate refrenced files", but as Metadata.
Is there a way to display this information? Other posibility would be to display it in the list view
Thanks

OT:  Hi Kevn.  Glad to get a name on your handle.
You didn't directly comment on it. You just kept his misspelling.
I commented on it -- just not directly.  That's at least a couple of elevator buttons above just repeating the error.
Fwiw, I assumed since Frank first filled out his location data that his was an ironic comment.  I guess the raised eyebrow lifted my sight.

  • How to get the path of the image stored in sap??

    Hi All
    The problem is
While making an entry in standard there is a field called documents through which we attach our images in sap.
How to get the path of the image stored with the corresponding order so that the image can be displayed while we are creating a report.
I know how to upload the image while creating a report using docking control.
I am not able to get the path of the image stored...
    Please Help
    Thanks in advance..
    Pooja

I am not aware of exactly which tables are used for storing the attached doc. details, but we have worked in the similar requiremnent.
What you can do is .... before uploading the image to any order, try swich on the SQL trace ST05 and after upload switch off.
The log will display what are the tables involved while storing the image. And you can easily find out the image location.

  • Moving Referenced Images to a new HD

    Hi,
I have my 500GB external HD almost full with all my Aperture referenced images.
    I got a new 1TB HD.
I Would like to move all my original folders keeping Aperture modifications on the images (metadata, adjustments, etc...).
Can I just copy the content of 500GB HD into the 1TB and somehow give to Aperture the path to the new HD? (the library file is on the computer's HD)
    Thanks!

You can copy everything and then reconnect the files, but you'd be better off using the File>Relocate Masters... command.

  • Loupe Offline for Referenced Images?

In the Aperture 3 documentation, we get this...
Even though the masters are offline, you can browse, search, and assign metadata to preview images. You can even use the Loupe to zoom in on preview images, because they are high-quality JPEG files.
And in Aperture 2, this was correct. Now that I have finally gotten around to upgrading to Aperture 3, I find this functionality is broken. The loupe is displayed as "offline" for referenced images and refuses to magnify my previews (though I can zoom in on them just fine).
This is a big problem, because i rely on the loupe for sorting images, and don't always have my master images available.
Is there a way to restore the loupe for viewing previews like Aperture 2?

  • Display SWFs instead of images?

    Hi all,
I built some dynamic pages using ADDT, and on some of the pages, the customer wants .swf files to display instead of an image. I added a field in my mysql database that holds the path to the flash files (for example...."flash/file-1.swf"), and then I tried to put a "placeholder" and bind the field from the recordset I created. However, this didnt work.
Is there a way to pull and place an swf onto a dynamic page like this? What am I doing wrong?
    Any help is appreciated
    John

    Hi Shane,
I didnt think it would be hard to do either, and maybe its just because I am juggling 5 other projects that I dont have the focus right now and its making this more difficult.
Ok, I can post code but Ill tell you what I did. I created several flash files for each page (i.e. 1.swf, 2.swf, 3.swf, etc) and then in my MySQL database, I added a field to hold the path to those files for each page.
In my page I created a filtered recordset. I place in the swf file where i wanted it and then went to the file field (this is in Dreamweaver) then opened the dialog box. Then I hit "Data Sources" and selected the correct field from my recordset that holds the path in the db.
When I got to test the page, nothing comes up where the swf should be. When I look at the code, it is correctly bringing up the source from the database, its just not showing the file.
    Any ideas?

  • 10 bit colour display path for lightroom 3??

I have been following an interesting forum topic on the PS forum here about 10 bit monitor support in PS CS5.
    For some background:
10 bits/pixel is becoming more prevalent with high-end displays these days (it provides 1.07 billion color possibilities instead of the 16.7 million colors available with the regular 8 bit display path). Getting a fully working 10 bit path from the app to the display appears to be more of a challenge though, but a challenge which appears to have been overcome now in PS CS5. I'm wondering if moves are afoot for Lightroom to also support the 10 bit color path??
This is my take for what you need for PS CS5 to display 10 bit colour in windows (sorry, I'm not a Mac person so couldn't comment):
Suitable graphics adaptor - Some ATI FirePro models and nVidia Quadro models support 10 bit color (cheapest is nVidia Quadro FX 580) - the availability/use of the displayport interface is most often the tell tale pointer as to whether the adaptor supports this. Only more recent driver packs provide 10bit API support for apps to utilise, so latest drivers are often required.
Displayport connection between graphics adaptor and monitor (DVI only supports 8 bit color)
A monitor which supports 10bit color - (High end NEC models (PA241W/PA271W models and new Spectraview Reference models in UK) now support this as does the HP DreamColor plus some Eizo and Lacie models to mention a few)
Enable 10bit color support in the Graphics adaptor control panel - this option generally only appears when all of the above is in place, and when enabled, provides the display path via OpenGL, for apps to utilise if they are coded for such (this option is known as 'Enable 10-bit pixel format support' for ATI, and 'Deep color for 3D applications' for nVidia)
Enable OpenGL hardware support (under Preferences, Performance,  'Enable OpenGL Drawing' in PS CS5)
So will this be supported in Lightroom 3 before long? Or perhaps it is already??
    Anyone know this?
    Thanks, Paul
p.s. I realise the above chain of requirements sounds complex, but I got it working this week for a new PC build and it was actually quite straightforward.

If you google around for how many colours the human eye is able to distinguish, you'll find scientific research quoting numbers around 10.000.000.
    Horribly false.
The prevalent sRGB color space is covered fairly well by the 8 bits per pixel depth most commonly used ("32 bit" or "True Color" color in Windows), and that is about 16.7 million colors.  While bit depth and color space are different things, once you go to the wider gamuts in other color spaces such as Adobe RGB without using more bits you will start to see banding in similarly colored (blue skies is a good example) areas because there are not enough digital steps to make smooth transitions as the color gradually changes.  Take my word for it (I've seen it in many of my own pictures.) or do more reading for more details if it's not clear, but the key points follow.
    First go to:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XvYCC
and read about the xvYCC color space.  In their reference number 2 down toward the bottom of the web page you find a link to:
    http://data.memberclicks.com/site/hopa/2007_xvYCC_forHPA_FINAL.pdf
which is a pdf of a presentation discussing extended gamut color spaces.  Check out slide 3 which is at the bottom left of page 1 to see examples of many things in the real world that are quite visible to humans but outside of sRGB.
Next check out slide 19 at the bottom left of the 5th page to see just how pathetic sRGB is at covering human vision.  The small pictures on the right in this slide show the coverage of the various color spaces of the "Munsell Color Cascade".  The gray areas indicate colors that each space cannot cover, and you can see sRGB has huge blotches of gray.
Munsell did some of the very early definitive lab testing of human color perception.  You can start reading about him and his color system here:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Munsell_color_system
and continue reading other links found on that page for more info about the extensive lab testing of human color perception.
Looking back at slide 4 on page 1 of the presentation linked above you will find an odd looking colored region that is curved around the top.  It looks like this:
That colored region is the estimated range of standard human vision.  There is a version of that which has the sRGB color space shown on it at:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Cie_Chart_with_sRGB_gamut_by_spigget.png
And that large view also gives you a much better idea of just how pathetically inadequate the sRGB color space is at covering human vision.  Again, bit depth is not color space, but 8 bits per pixel is pretty much maxed out trying to represent the sRGB color space without having to fake colors within it's triangle.
There are probably cases where banding can be seen even in purely sRGB images with only 8 bits per pixel.  And every color that you see in that large region with the curve at the top (in the picture shown in the last link above) that lies outside the sRGB triangle will have to be "clipped", which is converted into some color that does lie within the space.  That means you never see any actual colors that fall outside the triangle even if 8 bits per pixel could have covered them somehow using some other color space.  They're simply lost.
If you do try to use 8 bits for wider gamut color spaces you end up with the banding I mention above because there are too many shades of color to be represented by 256 steps for each of red, green, and blue.  Thus the need for 10 bits or more per pixel.
I hope this helps to dispel any more myths about the limitations of human vision falling within what 8 bits per pixel or sRGB can provide.

  • Problem with Referenced Images

    Hi all,
I have some documents that all follow the same structure.
    doc1\doc1.book
    \*.fm
    \images\A.jpg
    doc2\doc2.book
    \*.fm
    \images\A.jpg
In both documents, I have an imported image file that I want to be "images\A.jpg".
my doc2 directory would have been created by copying and renaming doc1 (because they all follow the same document template/format). But in doc2's .fm file, my referenced image file's path is "..\doc1\images\A.jpg", referencing to the original file.
I've tried renaming doc1\images\A.jpg to doc1\images\B.jpg, and opening the doc2 .fm, which then says it can't find "..\doc1\images\A.jpg" and asks me to replace it with another file. So, I use "images\A.jpg" (which is in the doc2 directory). That seems to work. But this seems to also change the link in the doc1 .fm file to point to "..\doc2\images\A.jpg".
So, the problem seems like both .fm files will always point to the same image file. I don't know how to disconnect these, so that they can work independently from each other. i.e. each doc directory (doc1 and doc2) is self-sufficient.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance.
    Kevin

    Kevin,
If I understand you correctly, you have created the doc1 folder, inside is the doc1.book, *.fm files, and an images folder. One of the *.fm files references the A.jpg image in the images folder.
Create the doc2 folder, then copy all the files and folders inside doc1 to inside doc2. Do this in Windows Explorer, NOT FrameMaker.
Rename the doc1.book inside the doc2 folder to doc2.book. Everything should be as you want it to be.
NOTE that if you open doc1/*.fm in FrameMaker and then save it as doc2/*.fm, then FrameMaker recalculates the path to A.jpg to point to the file doc1/images/A.jpg, because FrameMaker assumes you want to retain your links to the original image files. The difference from the procedure above is that you are doing the copying within FrameMaker, not within the Windows file system.

  • Vault restoration with referenced images - SEEKING HELP

Long story short: I have, had, a library that contained both managed and referenced images. 2 vaults set up for managed images, RAID system set up for referenced images.
Rebuilt library the other day because Aperture was moving kinda slowly. Followed the typical protocol of backing up first then rebuilding and to later back up again. In the middle of rebuilding, Aperture froze (Activity Monitor said Aperture was using only .50% of resources) and hung there for over 8 hours. Force quite wouldn't work. Had to hard restart.
Problems surface with the primary library. Decide to restore from recently backed up vault. Worked for only 13 projects but hung/froze again on the 14th project for another 8 hours.
Freaking out that my redundant back up system completely doesn't work, I put the managed projects back together in a new library by going into "show contents" of the vault and importing projects individually. This took another day of work. Managed projects are working just fine now and are backed up once again.
Referenced projects will not import at all. I can not reconnect them to their referenced images in any reasonable manor. The only way I've figured out how to do this is by hand, placing the referenced master image file into the "show package" content file of the said image. This is a daunting task for the 7 weddings of 700-1000 image each. Even if I do this, there is no guarantee that the project will import with out issue.
Anyone know how to do this? Does anyone know what happened here? Any thoughts would be greatly helpful.
    Thanks in advance,

My main piece of advice is to not install Leopard. It's been nothing but trouble for me, my wife, and a friend that's done so. If there was an easy way to drop back to 10.4.11, I'd do so in a heartbeat.
    Hi, Andreas
I think there is something else going on. (would like to know what it is). We've been on Leopard/Aperture combo since day one and running without any hickups on PPC, Intels and Laptops.

Query to get the first inserted record FROM a table.                Probably not possible in general. Oracle doesn't track the date at which a row was inserted.
Concatenate a column value with multiple rows.                          Again, I don't understand the question.
Query to delete all the tables at once.                You'd need dynamic SQL. And a definition of "all tables"-- are you talking about all tables in a particular schema? All the tables in multiple schemas? Something else? Does "at once" imply that you want things to run in parallel? And does "delete" really mean delete (a DML operation)? truncate (a DDL operation)? or drop?
SQL Query for getting Orphan Records. You'd need a definition of "orphan record" and requirements for what the parent and child tables are. The normal approach to finding parent and child tables dynamically would leverage foreign key constraints, but that would generally preclude the presence of orphan records.

  • Making a logical "path" to referenced HD

I recently transferred my files from an old to a new iMac. I could not get A3 to open on the new machine see thread..https://discussions.apple.com/message/21844612#21844612  Leonie helped me get A3 to open but I now have a few images that are offline and also notice that there is a rather convoluted path for the Library I'm using. My referenced images are stored in an external HD called "Aperture Masters." And this worked well on the old machine. I now have two external HDs one, called "Photo Masters," being the backup of the other. With the new iMac, I switched the destination of the images, in the import pane, from Aperture Masters to Photo Masters. I'm quite confused and would be very happy if someone could guide me on the correct procedure. Thanks, jp
This is the location of my present library
This is a new library I created but I cannot get my images to open in it.
The right hand image is an example of a distorted image which I presume is offline.

select them and go to   File..Locate Reference Files.
dbmore, that is a good idea, but we already tried that in the other thread, see
    Re: Aperture will not open
The big problem is, that Aperture shows managed files as missing referenced files. Reconnect does not work for managed files.
William, the broken part of the library is a managed library, with some originals, that are showing as missing, all imported from PS or Flickr.
The problem occured after moving the library to a different drive. It might be a problem with filenames being too long for a non-MacOS X filesystem.
Jd, check, if the original image files are really missing. They might still be inside the Aperture library.
Ctrl-click the library and select "Show Package Contents":
    Open the folder "Masters".
Now you need to know, when you imported the missing images. The Masters folder is sorted by the date of the "Import session".
If you can find the original files copy them to a folder on the Desktop. Is there something funny with the filenames?

  • What is the point of referenced images

i'm starting to think either ap2.1 is a vastly inferior product to its predecessor, or there are just so many bugs and kinks that still have yet to be worked out and apple has given no indication when they will.
In addition to my still unresolved constant thumbnail regeneration issue when using referenced images from when ap2.0 launched, I am now experiencing problems when trying to edit referenced images using an external editor (in my case photoshop)
after exporting the image via aperture to photoshop for editing, making my edits, and then saving them in phothshop, the psd. file which is created in aperture is NOT acknowledging the edit...typically when working with a non-referenced image aperture will update the psd. file almost immediately with a new thumbnail image recognizing the change. in this case, not only is it not generating a new thumbnail, but when i click on generate thumbnail nothing happens. furthermore, upon closing and reopening aperture, the referenced psd. is missing, and the original referenced RAW image file is stacked with only itself (a small number 1 indicating a stack but only 1 image in the stack).
is there an aperture support number that I can call? I have been severely disappointed with the performance of this program.

To your post header, I think the point of referenced images is self evident. They allow you to store your images on external media, or to utilize your own folder structure for organization in the finder. Many people prefer this to having Aperture manage the images in one library. I use a combination of both methods.
That's the "point" of them. Now if you're having some issues using them, or it you're experiencing unusual behavior that's a different topic. I round trip to Photoshop (less and less with 2.1 and the new plug-ins) with my referenced images without the problems you describe. Once I've made my edits in Photoshop and save the image, when I return to Aperture the image appear next to the original, in a stack, displaying the edits I performed in Photoshop. Additionally the new image is stored in the same location as my referenced image.
Why you're not seeing this I'm not certain. There can't be a stack of one image. What can happen if you have a smart album for example, or the search field set to display only 5 star rated images, is that the photo from a stack that meets that criteria will show up in the browser. It will also show the stack number. However, if no other images in the stack meet the criteria of the search, they will not display even if you click on the stack. So it will seem like there is a stack of one image since you can display only that one image. This only happens if you've got a filter of some kind in effect.
I also don't have the problems with thumbnails you describe, and I use Aperture daily with thousands of images. I would suggest rebuilding your library as a first step (hold down the command-option key at launch).

Indeed! I have always been under the impression that the search box on the right of all Finder windows uses the Spotlight database and search mechanism, but in a Finder-friendly context. Type the word or phrase, which will be searched in file contents, names, etc., and a list of files related to it pop up, as located via Spotlight. Click on any one to select, and the full path always appears on the bottom of the window.
Of course, keeping a trim & slim Spotlight index in every volume helps speed up the search. Lion's indexes seem to be better kept and less bloated, but you can always force a reindexing by purging them using an appropriate utility. I've used OnyX, MacPilot, and Spotless (in days prior to the Lion).

    Hi,
From your description, there is no “From Computer” option to get images with rich text box in InfoPath form.
Per my knowledge, by design there are “From Address” and “From SharePoint” options without “From Computer” option in rich text box in InfoPath form. As a workaround, you can develop a custom InfoPath Rich Text box to do it.
About developing a custom InfoPath control, I suggest you create a new thread on the forum “Visual Studio Tools for Office”, more experts will assist you with InfoPath development.
