Displays go wonkers after playing videos - help

I'm pretty Mac savvy but am not sure how to deal with this problem. I have 3 displays. A 30", 20" and Samsung 17". They all work fine. All my hardware and software and system tests out ok. I cannot find anything wrong. Here's the problem: Whenever I play a video or turn on the visualizer and then stop it, all my screens go wack. The desktop pictures from one monitor travel over to the next one, everything gets really big the menu bar is lost. I have to restart to fix it. Can someone please help!? This is driving me bonkers! Thanks.

Maybe Zoom it getting turned on. Try pressing Command-Option-8 once or twice.

Elements Organizer - some WMV are not displayed properly in the Play Video but are in Play Vide on Full screen. What's the problem? Wrong codec?

Because WMV's can contain a lot of flags, like DRM, they can exhibit odd behavior, indeed.
Usually, AV files will display in their native resolution, i.e. in their set Frame Size/Aspect Ratio and with their set PAR (Pixel Aspect Ratio), but sometimes those flags are missed, or are altered by other programs.
Remember, WMV's are designed to be streaming delivery-only, and are not intended, or designed to be edited. Most NLE's (Non Linear Editors) will allow them to be edited, but will require extra processing to do so. As is mentioned, WMM is designed around editing that delivery-only format, but most others are not.
There are many other formats/CODEC's, that ARE designed to be edited by the vast majority of NLE's, such as DV-AVI Type II's.
The best workflow is to NOT bring WMV's into the mix, unless one is using WMM exclusively. Converting those to an easily editable format/CODEC will always be the best course of action.

TS1368 Cant update or play videos help?

"Itunes update server cannot be contacted, please check your internet connection or try again later" This is the message that pops up when I try to update my itunes. Also I can not play any videos on Itunes, it starts to play them then stops. I have windows7 on a fairly new computer. Not sure why it just quit playing videos so I tried to search for updates in the help menu. Any suggestions?

Can you try resetting your phone by either:
1) Press and hold volume up and down button simultaneously and letting the phone restart
OR
2) Press and hold the power button till the phone restarts
Usually these steps go a long way to fix minor glitches. Trying playing a video after that and report back. Good luck!

Freezes after playing video playlist

My 60G freezes after playing my video playlist. I have to wait until the battery runs down then plug it in to reboot it for it to work again. I took it back to Best Buy where I purchased it, and they installed the latest update. They claimed this would fix the problem. Wrong! Any suggestions?

If you know the duration of the video, you can place a navigation button on the timeline at that point so that it appears just after the video finishes playing. However, you may find that on different PCs with different system specs the video may take slightly more or less time to play.

Audio garbles after playing Video

I got a new 30G iPod and downloaded all my iTunes, Audible and mp3 files. I then purchased from iTunes a video. All the audio (mp3, itunes, audible) play fine until I play the video. After I play a few seconds of video and return to playing audible files they garble. It appears going back and playing mp3 or iTunes audio "resets" so I can then play audible files (until I play video).

This is a known defect of the 5th generation ipod. Hopefully they will fix it in a software update.

My ipod blacked out after playing a video I downloaded from Itunes music store. Not responding, does anyone know how to solve this?

Pinwheel when trying to close safari/firefox after playing video

i've only noticed this on the nytimes.com website after playing their video content (youtube works fine). in both firefox and safari: every single time i play a video, if i pause it or stop it and then try to close the tab it is in or the application, i get the pinwheel and no matter how long i wait for it, it does not come back so i force quit. i've tried updating/reinstalling, but nothing seems to work. also episodes/shows via abc.com do not play at all - tried reinstalling/updating those plugins/apps as well. this is happening on both macbook pro and macbook with updated versions of leopard... thoughts?

This seemed to come out of the blue, very much as described by anima42. I also am a Ubuntu 10.04 user. I have pondered on the first reply above, and though I don't, and didn't, use Tabberwocky, I was using Tab Mix Plus. Having removed this, the problem seems to have gone away. Another possible clue as to what went wrong: I use a constant Firefox profile located in my home directory. I dabbled with Ubuntu 11.04 a week or so ago, which runs (I think) a more updated Firefox. This Firefox was operating on my default profile, as you would. It may have broken something so it now doesn't play nicely with the 10.04 setup. Just surmising.

The new update is available now i.e. V 22.0.007 dated 31-12-11 I have update the phone and the problem is solved now by following the steps i.e. go to settings>Phone>Phone mgmt.>Device updates> Option> check for updates> Yes and update the device by following steps.

How to display flash controlbar while playing videos on Oracle Apex 3.2.1?

I could display the video, but without the flash control bar (PLAY, STOP, PAUSE, SOUND VOLUM, etc).

New ITunes unable to Play videos Help please!

I recently transferred all my videos and music over from my old itunes which was on a desktop to my new laptop. The music plays fine and I can watch and listen to music on my new ipod which has been synced to this computer. I am however having an issue watching videos through itunes itself, all i get is a funky green screen and the audio. Any ideas?

Unfortuneatly at this point, mant people are having play back problems with any DRM video...some people seem to work, a large portion do not. The problem seems to be one of 3 things:
- A grey screen with no sound or video
- A grey screen with no sound or video, and apple prompt the account to be re-authorized over and over again, even after it is authorized and music is playinf
- A green screen with sound but no video
Unfortunately I have tried all of the fixes suggested (seach for my posts, you will see what I have tried), but apple support is unable to help me and many others...and we're out in the cold. My suggestion: NON DRM all the way, it just works, quicktime and itunes play any NON DRM, unfortunelty, thats not the way its all going, so...you have to make a choice now...walk on the dark side or...wait..and hope......that apple will eventually come up with a solution. I'll put my faith in the Dark Side for now...evil just works.

SATA Hard Drive Goes Missing After Playing Video In iTunes, How? Why?

What in iTunes would make my 500 GB SATA drive just "disappear" from my list of drives under My Computer?
Seemed to happen after I tried playing a video back in iTunes. I thought it was Windows Vista. But, I'm not having any other problems. I don't dare plug in my ipod until I fix this. I just downloaded the lastest version of itunes since it said for Vista, but that doesn't seem to matter.
I have all the latest drivers, but I have a GeForce 8800 video card, that's not the issue is it? What else can I do here to get itunes back on track?

My guess is that you have an Nvidia Nforce SATA controller, and are affected by a known bug in the Nvidia driver. Apple mention it briefly at the bottom of this document. HP have posted what appears to be a standard Microsoft SATA driver here to work around the problem until Nvidia releases an updated driver. Since it appears to be a standard driver, you may be able to install it on a non-HP system too.

Issues with screensaver after playing video in iTunes

I've recently started having an issue with my screensaver not turining itself on if i pause videos played in iTunes (fullscreen), and after escaping fullscreen view and pausing video the screensaver won't turn itself on. At all, not until I restart my iMac.
The iMac is completely up to date (OS X 10.7.2), bought mid-2011, came with Lion. I just got the iMac back from repair service, it should be working fine. Why is this happening?

Application crash after playing video or audio

This is actually a problem I have which is broader than Safari, but it is evident in Safari.
The symptom is that if I watch a video or an audio report (typically from the BBC news website at news.bbc.co.uk), then the application will crash when the playing stops - whether I let it go to the end, or interrupt it in the middle. This happens in Safari 2.0.4 or the beta 3 relase. It also happens in Firefox and Camino. It happens in a different user on the same Mac as well, so it is not the user preferences.
I have another Mac on the network, behind the same router, and I don't get the problem on this Mac.
The video and audio is playing in RealOne player on both Macs, and both are on system 10.4.10.

Audio stops after playing video

...couldn't get an answer from earlier posts so here goes:
in iDVD 6.0.2 after burning & playing the video chapter part,
audio stops. it doesn't happens immediately but after 5-6 min. of playing.
i chcked for a missing audio codec of some kind:
the video chapter is AVI format, but the audio is not compressed. also the file plays normally in QT so
my only guess was a probably malfunctional during encoding\decoding audio in idvd itself...
does the solution for it depends on the proper audio
codecs idvd is using to convert my movie or is it something else i missed?

Premier Pro 5.5 - Sound will not resume after pausing video - HELP PLEASE !

Hi everyone.
I have a co-worker that is having a very strange problem. After he pauses a video and tries to restart it, video works fine but the sound will not resume. This doesn't happen all the time but it does happen often.
Please help.

Hi Todd.
I just finished running all the updates for adobe and it did not find any updates for Premier Pro, so the current version I have is 5.5. I'm going to check to see if there is any update I can download from Adobe that is not been detected by adobe updater so I can upgrade to Premier 5.5.1.
