Displays need to be detected each time I start up.

This started happening a few months ago. Every time I start up (OS 10.4), the display monitor is not properly detected. That means I have to go into Preferences for Displays every time I start up so that it can properly identify the monitor and use the proper resolution. Obviously that's a nuisance.
I have two monitors connected to my G4. One is an Apple Studio Display which is always turned on when the G4 is on. The other is Samsung SyncMaster 755DF that I usually only turn on when I want more work space, such as when using FCP.
I've had the same configuration for several years and it is only recently that this problem started. Any suggestions?

Two things where I can see these things stored...
PRAM... requires the CMDOption+rp keys held during a reboot.
Library>Preferences>com.apple.windowserver.plist
Which could be tested by dragging it to the Desktop, (for later dragging back if need be), then reboot.
Oh, another thing, if the PRAM battery needs replacing, that could do it.

I've recently had some trouble with iTunes match, where it wasn't downloading songs, although I could stream them fine. I spoke to someone from Apple who suggested turning off iTunes Match, then do a 'Reset All Settings', then re-enable iTunes Match. This seems to work fine, as I can now download songs.
Since performing the above 'reset', each time I start 'Music', it displays 'Loading iTunes Match', the progress bar gets all the way across, then I see my songs (not my playlists though - but that's a separate question). However, if I come out of Music, and go back in, I see the same message..
I've now tried about 10 times, with re-boots and turning off/on iTue

There may a problem track amongst those tracks that are waiting. Firstly, add iCloud status column to song view - go to menu > view > view options and tick box.
Next is to examine those tracks waiting - is there anything unusual or large? You may need to remove all those tracks waiting from your library. Next hold shift key whilst turning off match. Close iTunes, reopen and turn on match. You will be asked to add this computer, do so. The match process should be quick, match will remember previous matches and uploads.
Once process complete, readd those tracks, a small batch at a time. This will help you find any track that match does not like.

Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs. 
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. 
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

If your iPhone is shutting down unexpectedly, I recommend going through these troubleshooting steps:

Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIs and corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.

SLES 11 SP2 x64 + GW2012 all component installed as root, I need delete uid.run file each time if start/stop grpwise daemon, other dev/poa/mta will fail or unused.
the uid.run is contain root, may I know how to avoid to delete this file each time?

Can anybody tell me how to run rmiregistry each time windows starts.
I want to start my RMIserver automatically to work.First I need to start rmiregistry then I want to start my RMIServer class as windows service.

Stick a shorcut to it in your Startup folder or create a new Key in the registry @ HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
If you have arguements to rimreg (like port number) create a .bat script and use that to launch it.

Hi everyone,
To anyone who might read this, I ended up re-installing with the original install disc and was able to get back on to Mac, though I lost all of the previous data that I had not backed up. Unsure still if it will continue to let me access the HDD in this, but it kind of confirms that installing Lion probably put too much stress on the computer this last year.

Each time I start iTunes, it configure again the program.

I'm running iTunes v7.6.2.9 with Windows Vista Ultimate 32bits and SP1. I reinstall iTunes, but it change nothing. Each time I start iTunes, the configure window appear.
I also have some problems with QuickTime. When I try to watch a movie, I get this error message: "Error 46: Could not load or find the QuickTime ActiveX control.

This seems to be caused by a bug in the Vista installer. Are you using the link on the Quick Launch toolbar? Try using the iTunes link in the main Start Menu and it should work OK. If not try opening the program from the *C:\Program Files\iTunes* folder. I simply replace the Quick Launch link with a freshly made shortut to the iTunes msin program. I then get caught out again after every iTunes upgrade....

Airport Express software update reminder each time at start up

Why do I get Airport Express software update for 5.4.2 reminder each time at start up? I try to update from 5.4.1 by clicking update button, and zoom, the Airport Express screen disappears and no update begins. Your help is appreciated.

I'm not getting an update message, so I can't re-create your view, but this might help.
Open AirPort Utility. On the AirPort Utility menu right next to the Apple icon, select Check for Updates.

My latest two extension updates constantly show up as tabs each time I start FireFox. Where should I look to make this stop?
