I am returning to Firefox after having used Safari on Mac for the past year. One thing I liked about Safari was that I could define what page gets loaded when I used the File Menu command to open a new Browser Window. I defined this as opening up with my Bookmarks Menu where I then was able to select the page I wanted to go to.
I have not been able to find a way to define this in Firefox and was surprised to see that "New Window" in Firefox opens all of tabs that I've defined as my Home Page.
Is there a way to manage this?This issue can be caused by an extension that isn't working properly.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

"Failed to open midi support library". What is missing? And if so, how do I get it back? What to do?
I own a new Macbook pro 15" quadcore with OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.4
When trying to start software Reason 7 I only get the message "Failed to open midi support library".
What is missing? And if so, how do I get it back? Reinstalling Mountain Lion did not solve anything.
What may I do? Is there separate MIDI-drivers or else that Macbook needs to be running audio at all?
My audiocard Apogee Duet 2 is´nt working well either and I cannot even open the MIDI-window in Mac,
so that road is blocked. I´ve seen more ppl having problem but found no explaination.
Some say to remove midi-drivers but that folder is empty (or hidden?) when opening.
Also, Garage Band cannot open. It´s no problem with graphic apps, only with audio/midi.
My 2011 Macbook pro13" with OS X Lion runs like a charm. So how can this be? It really puzzles my mind.
Have thoughts on having OS X Lion on the new Mac as well but will not do it until I know where the real problem is.

Thanks in advance.When I use find file http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/30073/find-file (which does tend to find files that "Finder" can't), it's not coming up with any other itunes library files that have been modified in the past week, which I know it would have been - unfortunately, I don't have a very recent backup of the hard drive. It would be a few months old so it wouldn't have the complete library on it....any ideas? I'm wondering if restarting the computer might help but have been afraid to do so in case it would make it harder to recover anything...I was looking at this thread https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4211589?start=0&tstart=0 in the hopes that it might have a helpful suggestion but it's definitely a different scenario.

when i try to access the itunes store to buy music, it loads at the top and says connecting to itunes store..then it loads all the way and goes to a blank page. it loads and seems like it is will work, but then goes to a blank page. Why is it doing this?

All my photos are importing out of order. For example, if I have images 1,2,3, and 4.., the order they show up in is 2,1,4,3. What could cause this and any ideas how I fix it?
One thing, don;t think of them as being imported in any one particular order.
The order of the images is completely fluid, you can change it anytime you want to suit your needs at that particular moment.
As Léonie showed you select the order you want to see the images in by selecting the item you want to sort on in the pull-down.
The only time fluid sort order can be a problem is when you export groups of images. If you put the images into a particular order in Aperture when you export them and view them in the Finder the order they are in may very well be different. In this case you could give names to the images that include a sequence number or index.
Then when they are viewd in the Finder they will be in them same order they were in in Aperture.

Hi I'm trying to arrange a way to make the most of my disk storage. I am trying to find out what page file is so that I can organise it. I have so far arranged my space as follows
C - OS and programs
E - Projects, media cache, preview files, auto saves, current footage being edited.
F - back up, footage(unused), exports
Does this look OK?

EdThe page file is a Windows system file that is used as temporary storage... the default is your boot drive, you may change the location

Slow DL/UL Speeds, Pages not loading, and inability to play games online
I noticed bad connection speeds on Wednesday and called tech support. They sent a technician out who replaced the modem and did some work on the lines. Long story short, my speeds are still poor, pages are not loading, and I am unable to play computer games without lag so significiant that playing becomes frustrating. This has been 5 days of awful connection (Thursday through Sunday I was without wireless because the tech support agents were not helpful).
I am really fed up with the way that Verizon has handled this issue. They have been very good in the past, but this situation has left me in a situation where I might have to cancel service since what is being provided is insufficient. Any help with this would be great, since I would like to give Verizon one last chance before I go look for a new provider (I have called tech support 5-6 times, tried their chat service, and also sent an email to customer service)2)No idea how to provide Transciever Statistics

If the following things are true:
#1 You did not follow the advice in http://www.dslreports.com/faq/13600
#2 You did not change the LAN IP of the Westell (still at 192.168.1.1)
#3 You changed the LAN IP of the Linksys so it's LAN IP does not start with 192.168.1 (for example 192.168.2.1)
#4 The WAN port of the RJ-45 WAN port router is connected to the modem.
...Then
#1 Visit http://192.168.1.1/ for me and do the following:
a) If you see a Blue and White Westell page, mouse over Troubleshooting, go to DSL, and choose Transceiver Statistics. Copy and Paste the information on that page.
b) If using the Red and Black Firmware: Go to System Monitoring > Advanced Monitors > Transceiver Statistics. Copy and Paste the information on that page.
c) Try visiting http://192.168.1.1/transtat.htm which is a direct link to the Stats on older modems.
d) If you need a Username and Password, try the following:
admin/password
admin/password1
admin/admin
admin/admin1
admin/Serial Number
By Serial Number, I don't mean type in the words Serial Number. I mean find and type in the serial number found on the bottom of this router.
If you followed the advice in that FAQ, then I need more info from you:
#1 Does your Linksys have offical Linksys firmware or third party firmware?
#2 If the Linksys has third party firmware, which one?
For example DD-WRT.
#3 While I know your Linksys has a built in switch, do you have a switch that is not part of a router?
#4 Do any of your computers have at least two NICs and one of the NICs is wired?
#5 Do you know how to manually setup a Static IP on your computer?
#6 What kind of connection does your Linksys handle?
For a Verzion DSL connection, as far as I know - they only offer:
a) PPPoE
OR
b) DHCP (before setting the modem combo not to handle the public IP by folllowing that FAQ, the modem combo was set to Bridge-Routed Bridge-DHCP Client Enabled)
OR
c) Static IP.
#7 Does your Linksys have at least two RJ-45 LAN ports not occupied / not in use / nothing connected ?

Erase your drive and reinstall correctly, stop messing about with incremental patches. The routine you need is BERR (backup, erase, reinstall, restore) or just stay as yu are, it is entirely up to you.

Where did the insert page go? and why does my documents have a text block?
I have a document that I continually add to in Pages and is now 38 pages long. The problem is that recently the text has gone from being on the page to now being inside a text box?? I did not do anything to the document besides open it and start typing. Why would this have changed? Also I've noticed that the page break button which used to be in the tool bar, then moved to the copy/paste touch screen button, has now officially dissapeared all together from my Pages!!!! WHAT IS GOING ON!?!? there are no updates for Pages and I'm not really sure what to do. It won't let me add another page to this document? Someone please help me

I cannot search for ANYTHING, I cannot click on items listed in the yahoo search page (the top ten trending search items) the page just won't load!
Since I looked everywhere for this answer and never found it I decided I needed to help!
1. GO TO THE TOOL BAR WHERE IT SAYS SAFARI AND CLICK TO BRING DOWN THE MENU OF OPTIONS, CLICK ON PREFERENCES
2.INSTEAD OF JUST CLICKING ON THE GENERAL TAB AND CHANGING THE SEARCH ENGINE LIKE EVERY OTHER STUPID SUPPORT TELLS YOU TO DO LOOK AT THE TAB THAT SAYS EXTENSIONS.
3. Chances are you downloaded something that was made by a third party to "enhance" your web experience but really they just screwed you over, YOU CAN CHOOSE TO SIMPLY UNINSTALL ANY EXTENSIONS PUT ON YOUR COMPUTER BY CLICKING INSTALL, BUT TO BE SURE THAT THIS IS THE ROOT OF YOUR PROBLEM IN THE SECOND COLUMN SIMPLY CLICK ON THE UNDERLINED NAME OF WHO THE EXTENSION IS MADE BY IF CLICKING THE LINK BRINGS UP A YAHOO PAGE THIS IS THE SOURCE OF YOUR ISSUES AND SIMPLY UNINSTALLING THIS WILL RID YOU OF THIS DUMB PROBLEM!!

trying to post a message to syncmyride for Ford. A community comments section. The pop up blocker keeps blocking the page even after repeated attempts to click on the allow button. I can't find a way to disable this. When clicking on error console, it list a repeated error report for the page. This is not the exact URL because you have to log into the site in order to get to the point where you can post a comment.

It happens whenever I open new tab from any wabpage. Once the tab is opened and initial webpage is loaded I may use any link to jump on another, second webpage in same tab. However, if I want to go back on initial webpage I can't do it cause that option (arrow) is disabled. I could use link on second webpage to jump on third, and only at that moment go back option becomes available again. However, I could not ever go back on initial webpage any more. As initial webpage has never existed.
It happens quite often (95%).Right click the Back button and select the page you want to go back to from the list.
If the list is too long to display via the Back button, hit CTRL+H, change the view to "Last Visited" and then load it from there instead. -
We are facing a issue in a our Mobile Banking app built on ASP.NET 2.0. Sometimes, when we load the mobile website[https://mobile.dib.ae] from iPhone or any Android phones, log-in page will never get loaded. When the log-in page fails to load in iPhone/iPad,
it’s giving us an option to download the login.aspx as a file. In some cases it shows download failed [Safari & Chrome]. In Android phone default browser, we are getting a different behavior when the log-in page fails to load. In Android phones its showing

We are not getting the same issue in staging. Production fails randomly.
We have three servers and load balancing is in place for production. We tried to access the site many times from different iOS and android versions and was successful with each of the servers. We have even tried connecting the mobile site by turning off all
the servers except one, alternatively. All the servers worked fine individually. But it failed in the same mobile after clearing cache and cookies sometimes.
This behavior is random and we haven’t able to figure out the root cause yet. There is no error in our log files or DB.
There was security updates on all the servers before this issue started happening. We haven't uninstalled it yet.
There were no updates on the filrewall F5.
When we checked the IIS logs after a failed page load with the IP of mobile, we found there was only one entry made and it was for the favicon. We don't have favicon from the beginning and 404 error for favicon is since we started the site. As the only entry
was for favicon and as it returns an error 404 just considering that possibility.It appears that your issue concerns web app development/troubleshooting and not .NET Framework setup (this forum's topic).
