Dissapearing Albums

My music collection is large enough for Albums to go missing without being immediately detected. I may be searching for an album only to find that it's not in the library or in my external hard drive where the Itunes media file is located. I am sure that this must be an itunes issue as I am not deleting the music myself and no-one accesses the computer or hard drive. I have tried searching the programme logs using console but have found nothing useful.
Can someone either:
1. Explain what is happening and how to fix it.
or
2. Give me some instructions as to how best use console to search for itunes programme logs to find when and why this is happening.

I'm sorry to hear Spotify isn't working correctly for you. Have you already tried to simply logout and login afterwards? Sometimes something simple as this already solves the problem.
You may also try to fix it by reinstalling Spotify. To do that, please follow the steps in the link below:

IPod touch music dissapears from album view and other things

I'm honestly suprised to the fact that my old iPod video works better on this factor than the iPod touch I upgraded to.
My problem lies in the fact of syncing makes my iPod decide certain things stay on Album view and dissapear from it. To give an example:
Before sync - Album of Disneyland Music is still together on album view and nothing has vanished.
Add in another song to the compilation of music on the album for easy listening.
Sync iPod
Album of Disneyland music has vanished completely and only the new song added in is viewable in the album listing.
Don't think that it's gone competely. I've searched and the music is actually in the iPod, just not in the albums listings. It's everywhere else listings on the iPod.
This has irked me ever since I bought the thing since another issue that just drives me up the wall. With my iPod video if I listed the music under an album it'd be sorted into the album with no problem. With the iPod touch however if ONE thing is off it gets sorted into its own lisiting on the Album view even though it shares the same Album title with another song. Example:
Old music that doesn't get recognized has to have information added in
Albums are correct
Artists are correct
Sync iPod
Album listing has multiple listings from the same album with the artists as its sorting spot. (or if it even showed up at all...)
I've tried multiple times to fix this and nothing works. (and i've checked and unchecked sort by album artist, no dice.) I attempted to contact an iTunes help as it was partly on the program's fault, the helper didn't understand what I was talking about. Can anyone help me here?
and no I can't resort to my iPod video as I've killed the selection middle button thanks to a game. That and it also had an issue with connecting and I kept having to refresh it.

I looked in Compilations and the album that's vanished from Album view isn't in there. I checked via Artist view and the songs are there so the music is in the iPod but it's being a little wise sucker and not showing me the album in the Album view.
I fear for the videos I have to put on my iPod for class reference today...

I plugged my ipod into my pc it said it needed an upgrade so I pressed the upgrade button after the upgrade was finished I bought 2 albums from Itunes and put them on my ipod then when I looked all my other music had dissapeared how do i get it back

I uploaded two albums and put them on my boyfriends ipod it asked for me to upgrade his ipod and i did, them after when I checked to see if the albums had loaded they had, but all his other music had dissapeared, how do I get it back there were thousands of pounds worth of music on the ipod, he is not happy and neither am I, I am on windows 7. You can redownload iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
For other music you need to get them from where you got them before.

Album art keeps dissapearing

Hello there,
random album art would keep dissapearing. It used to happen to one or two songs a every 2 weeks or so, however now its an epidemic. I am pretty meticulous in uploading the correct and hi-res album art, so It is annoying to keep having to repaste it in the info section. With the rate this is happening now though, I just gave up.
I am running the latest iTunes on windows 8.1 (I think the dissapearances started ramping up after the upgrade) .
I also have "fetch album art online" checked off.
Anybody else having these problems?

I face a similar problem, since the new albums are not coming on my ipod with the immustrations or album covers.

I erase all the data on my ipod, and re download with itunes all albums : it is worth since there is no illustration any more ! No album cover ...

Photo folder / album on phone and pc dissapeared? replaced with ipod photo cache folder? how do i get those photo's back?

i was just syncing pics and it managed to sync 2 folders with around 190 pics then i synced the rest it deleted those 2 folders and those 190 pics dissapeared and in the folder on my pc was ipod photo cache? i really want those photos back since there really special ( friends , family ect.)

The ipod is not a backup/storage device.
You need to copy everything from your old computer to your new one.
The Apple store will do this for you, you can call apple support and they will help you, you can use google.

After closing iphoto and restarting Albums dissapear

library is kept on a Zip disk. After closing iPhoto and restarting all the albums dissappear. Pics are still in the library but all albums and sorted pics are gone. I'm getting ready to go back to "Jpeg View".

*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Open a TextEdit window and paste into it (command-V). Select the line you just pasted and continue as above.

Album cover dissapear from the "playing-layout" in the music app on ipad?

Rarely, the covers show up on the visualisation of albums and artist :S

First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

Album Art Dissapeared!

I got my new second gen nano. i love it so much i even downloaded all the album covers from amazon and put the jpgs into the id tags. took me like a whole night. everything just worked fine and the ipod displayed them. but now it dont know what happened. i just transferred some more files to it and ist just doesnt display some covers from random songs anymore. and it used to do it with those in the beginning! the text is even left aligned and when i double click on middle button its like the cover is invisible.
i got a 2gb second gen nano windows formatted!

Welcome to the apple forums. I had the same problem with my 8Gb Nano(Mac formatted). Restore the iPod and it will fix the problem. Check to make sure you iPod has the latest firmware version. Don't forget to mark this question as 'Helpful' or 'Answered'.

Why are my album covers from purchased songs on itunes dissapeared

why are the album covers gone from the songs i purchased from itunes. i have part of them,the rest are gone

I have a slightly different problem. I have a few artists "Greatest Hits" albums, My iPohone's "iPod" doesn't know the difference between each album. For example:
Queen's Greatest Hits, Guns 'N' Roses Greatest Hits and Alice Cooper's Greatest Hits are all jumbled together into 1 "album" this is fine sometimes gives a bit of variety, but some days i just want to listen to GNR or Queen or Alice Cooper.
The only way to do this is to go in through the "Artist's" Tab instead of "Albums" still, it is annoying.
Any help for this would be appreciated.

Did a backup via icloud to my iphone 5 and one of the photo albums dissapeared.

The Apple store gave me a loaner phone because they are fixing mine. Before they took my phone I did backup via iclould, when I logged in to the loaner phone one of my photo albums disappeared.

Yes - I connected my phone to my computer / Itunes and went into the apps section, but from there I have no idea how to manage the push notifications. I even tryied going into itunes that is installed on my phone. I still cannot find anyplace to manage these popups. I have also gone into settings - notifiations - and tried turning all notifications for these apps all off but that didnt work either. Any guidance is MUCH appreciated - Im not sure where to go from here.

How do I recover my Kings of Leon album?

It can take a day or even two sometimes before the transaction is processed. Paypal is then the first to inform you by email and later it is Apple. I have a credit card in my Paypal account which means that I don't have to put money into Paypal.
And if the purchase is not billed at all, no problem at all I guess.

Album artwork dissapeared today!??!?

So I'm sorry to sound really whiny about something trivial but it really is driving me crazy. I have the 80 gig black ipod, I'm a PC-user (sorry Steve Jobs). Before, the whole artwork thing was giving me a ton of problems. I'd import a new Cd into my library, add it to my Itunes and the new CD's artwork would suddenly take over a few tracks off another CD. This morning, after blatantly adding artwork to a new album, I find that NONE of the artwork is showing up. Is this normal? Is it worth taking to the Apple store? Anyone else experiencing this problem? Thanks a bunch,

Phil,
This is probably the blind leading the blind (because I'm having an issue with album art as well, but not similar enough to discuss) but are you saying it doesn't show up on your iPod OR your computer? Or it shows up in one and not the other?
If it doesn't show up in the computer (that is, you've lost it all) then it's similar (but not identical) to an issue I am raising here and perhaps we'll both benefit from any answers the gurus can provide. If it shows up in your computer but doesn't transfer then make sure you have "Transfer album art" (or whatever it says) enabled on your iPod sync and, yes, you could indeed take the iPod to the store (but the Apple store isn't going to be able to help you if the album art isn't showing up in your computer -- the best they can do is make sure your iPod is working correctly by trying a sync to one of the Macs there).
The thing that confuses me in both our instances is my understanding of album art -- I read or was told or hallucinated that the art is stored in the MP3 file itself. If so, it would be impossible for it to get "lost" -- but that obviously isn't the case.
I can tell at times that iTunes is doing something fishy with album art, most likely in an effort to optimize the display. I note that when I browse the albums (not in album view, just in detail view with album art turned on) that the image sometimes doesn't appear right away and then "pops" into being. It's as if it is only checking the first track and displaying the art for it, which would make sense but OTOH if you have different art stored in a track even if the other info is the same iTunes will separate it out so it's probably more a case of something wonky going on with the code.

I am assuming you never backed up your computer.
Sounds like you still may have problems with your PC.
