Dissapearing emails with calendar events

Whenever I receive an email containing a Calendar Event invitation the email just deletes itself after accepting the invitation. The event is correctly added to the Calendar but the email message dissapears and I cannot access the message from a different device (e.g. office PC). It is annoying!

You may want to check your calendar events settings and make sure the to and from date are just for that one day and also make sure your reminder is set for one time event and not daily on your device as well as your repetition is set to one time event.

Populateing Calendar Server with calendar events???

Hi all, is it possible to populate a user's calendar in Calendar Server with particular events? We are building a communications environment that will initially be comprised of Comms Express and Messaging server and later Calendar Server. This is for a student communications (ie email and possibly later calendar) system.
I'm interested in knowing whether a user's calendar can be populated with predefined events. In our case, that would be to populate a student's calendar with the student's exam timetable?

New email with calendar invite switches active Space

I just installed Snow Leopard on my iMac. When I get an email with a calendar item attached, the computer moves to the Space where Mail is located permanantly (Space #2). I've looked at the Spaces, Mail and iCal preferences and can't see anything that would prompt this. It doesn't happen when I get regular emails. Any help on this? Thanks!

Turning Emails into Calendar Events or ToDo's

How can I easily take an email in Apple mail and quickly turn it into an event or a ToDo?

Please consult Apple Help in your Mail program, here's a copy:
+From notes and messages:+
+In a note you create or receive, or in a message you receive, select the text you want to track as a to-do item and click To Do in the toolbar. Or Control-click the text and choose New To Do from the shortcut menu.+
+The item is displayed at the top of the note or message and added to the To Do list in the sidebar.+

I know that is is possible to send emails from ABAP with attachments, but is it possible to have a calendar file (eg. .cal or .vcs) as attachment?

The VCALENDAR section must include:
METHOD:PUBLISH and
CALSCALE:GREGORIAN
Each VEVENT section must include:
DTSTAMP and
UID values.
After that it imports just fine. So the modified example that works looks like this:

ICloud sync problem with calendar Events on MBP and iPhone since last update. Some of my calendars appear to have either been deleted or merged.

I've noticed quite a few events have disappeared since the last update. Also my calendars appear to have either been deleted or merged. I've lost some very important events. Has anyone else had these problems?

How to use time zone settings with calendar events ??

After looking through the questions on time zones and synchronization, I still cannot get my Palm Centro to operate the way I think it should.
I have a Verizon Centro, am using Windows XP with Outlook, and synching via the Hotsync manager 7.02 over a USB cable. I am not using Palm Desktop.
I am expecting events to shift time in the calendar when I change the time zone, but they do not.
I am preparing for a trip. I enter several test events into MS Outlook placing the events to occur in a different time zone into my calendar at the time the event would occur in my home time zone (NY). For example, a meeting from 9-10 AM in Los Angeles is put in my MS outlook calendar as 12-1 PM on the day of the meeting. Then I sync, with the time zone of my Centro and Outlook set for New York. The Centro is set to update Date, Time, Zone automatically from the network in New York. The meeting event appears as 12-1 PM on the correct day.
Then I turn off the Centro phone (ie disconnect from the Verizon network), change the time update to "Nothing" -- ie entirely manual, change the time zone to Los Angeles and set the time to the correct time in Los Angeles. I expect the meeting to shift to 9-10 AM in my Centro calendar, but it does not !!!!! I try other combinations -- Leave the time update on Date and Time automatic, and change the time zone to Los Angeles, etc. I think I tried all the combinations. Throughout, I leave the Centro phone off of the Verizon network. I cannot get the meeting to change its time in the new time zone.
What is the trick ??? What did I miss ??
You might ask why I am trying this with the phone turned off -- that is because I am really going much farther than LA, and into a GSM network where I will simply use the Centro as a PDA.
Any advice appreciated.

Thanks for the response.
Indeed my preference was not set "new events use time zones".
Meanwhile, I had loaded all the applointments from Outlook, about 20 of them,
figuring I would just move them manually en route.
I will play with the time zone preference, but,
is there any way to identify the existing appointments in the
Palm as belonging to a different time zone, just using the Palm Centro ?

I have accepted an appointment from someone else, but when they send me a change or cancellation, I cannot make those adjustments. I'm using the native calendar app w/ iOS 7. Please help!

Gmail sending automatic emails with calendar updates

Several coworkers and I have recently switched to iPhone 6's from galaxy S5's. We use a program called Sync2 to sync our outlook calendars with our phones via a gmail account. It worked perfectly on the S5, and works fine on the iPhone except that it periodically sens automatic updates from the gmail accounts used to sync the calendars to everyone on the meeting invite list. Very annoying. Anyone have any ideas how to stop this?

Why are you using an intermediary? Where are the calendars hosted? What kind of mail system do you have? If you have Exchange, you should all just be syncing directly with the Exchange server.

Emailing calendar event question

Is it possible to email a calendar event from my iMac to someone with an iPhone, so they can easily add the event to their calendar? If I email an event, the outgoing message says:
"To add it to your calendar, click the link below"
But when they click the iCal...ics link in the email, nothing happens. I know if I view the same email on my Mac in the Mail app and click on the link, I'm prompted to add the event to my calendar.

Sorry, answering my own question. It seems you have to do it on iCloud. Kind of frustrating if you're not on your computer but at least it's possible. Thanks for reading.

Some exchange calendar events missing with iOS 5

I'm having difficulties with calendar events that are showing up on Outlook not showing up on the iPhone with iOS 5. These had previosuly synced fine and been on the iPhone calendar before the upgrade to iOS 5, and only some claendar events aren't syncing correctly. It appears to be doing this for both one-time and recurring events. Additionally, new events on Outlook are syncing with the iPhone and new events added on the iPhone are syncing with Outlook.

Try closing all apps completely and then do a reset and see if that helps. To close all apps : from the home screen (i.e.not with any app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of each app to close them, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
To reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

HT203521 Calendar events disappearing when changing Apple ID

My wife changed her AppleID, and her Calendar events have disappeared from her iCloud account (even though the prompt said they'd be merged).
Her contacts, notes and other iCloud info all seem to still be there. The problem persists across the entire iCloud platform (iOS, OSX, web).
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Well Sir, it depends. Sometimes it depends on what email those Calendar events are hooked to. So i would suggest you try checking if her Calendar is actually connected to the right platform by going to Settings - Mail, Contacts, Calendars - Scroll down to the bottom under Calendars - Default Calendar - Tap on it to see if its connected to iCloud or a particular email address. You can fuddle with it to see where all her events are saved. Sometimes it might be that, those events were hooked to her email or something. I hope this helps, please keep me posted.

Has BlackBerry forgot Switzerland in Calendar Events - Location?

I just recently returned to a BlackBerry Q10 after about 3 years using android devices. I really missed the physical keyboard and the shortcuts that came with it.
After a few days of use I have discovered a problem with Calendar Events. When I enter an address here in Zurich, it should become a link that will launch BB Maps. It does not. I have tried various combinations of street, city, postal code etc. Even when I press the Map icon to search for an address and paste it into the event location, it does not become a link.
I also tried my old address in Paris and that didn't work either. It seems that the OS does not deal with addresses outside North America.
It would be OK if I could change the default map application to BeMaps Pro but I can't figure out how to do that either.
I was wondering if anyone has an idea or has had similar issues.

Hi,
Yes it works if you put in a North American address.
Example:
1. Create a new calendar event.
2. For "Location", type "2100 Yonge Street Toronto".
3. Save new event.
4. Open the event. The location will now be in blue font.
5. Tap the location text and BB Maps will open and display the location on a map.
It does not seem to work with Swiss or French addresses even if I search using the Map app first and paste the location into the event. I tried a UK address " 58 Baker Street London" and that worked.

Problems with calendar on iCloud

I am having problems with calendar event created on my IPhone 4S syncing to my IPad.

Don't worry I've sorted it! I just had to turn off Reminders as well in iCloud. Calendar then worked fine, even when I turned Calendar and Reminders back on.
