Dissolve transition no longer working in slide show for iPhone using iOS 7.0.6

The standard slideshow function for still photography in iOS has options for dissolve wipe across, wipe down, Ripple and Cube; however, dissolve & the two wipe transitions immediately switch from one photo to the other without a gradual transition. Apple: an iOS upgrade is needed to fix this, please.

Similar problem for me, twice now all my contacts have gone.
First time was a couple of months ago and they came back by themselves after half hour!!!
(what are those numbers going playing around like children? )
This time it was a major problem as I was traveling and needed to contact a person urgently.
Also the Calendar appeared empty and I needed to check the coming appointment for the morning.
I was able to recover going inside iCloud settings and disable the synch for contacts and calendar.
Shout off the phone. Switch on the iPhone and then setting again ON the iCloude synch for contacts and calendar. After few minutes they did come back.
I don't know if there are numbers missing. It doesn't appear so.
But the problem has been very frustrating and created major problem even if for just half day.
Dear Apple,
is it possible to solve the issue and avoid that it will happen again?
I was assuming that once my numbers are on the phone, they are not cancelled unless specifically asked.

ITunes classic visualizer no longer works in slide-show mode?

I am using iTunes 8.1 (50) and have just noticed that the iTunes classic visualizer no longer works in slide show mode, which means that it just keeps the same colors and patterns without changing automatically, like it used to do. I can press "R" on the keyboard, which loads a new random collection of settings but again it just keeps them without changing. I tried also pressing "D" to go to default settings, but it did not help. Anybody else having this problem? Any ideas for a fix?

Good to know it's not just me. Sure, the old visualizer is anything but a vital feature, but still it's cool to get some variety sometimes so I hope there comes a fix for it.

Slideshow Transitions No Longer Work After Installing iLife08

I previously used the '06 version of iPhoto, and the transitions I selected for my slideshows worked as expected. After upgrading to '08, the transitions no longer work, even if I reset them on some of the slides. It looks like there is no transition. I tried deleting the preference file and restarting, but no luck. I also used Software Update to get the latest iPhoto update. Anyone have a suggestion of how to fix? Thanks for any help.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Did you repair disk permissions after updating? Download and run the 10.4.10 COMBO updater and the Quicktime 7.2 updater followed by a repair of disk permissions.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. Not the only one. Though I have not retryed my installation. Here is what happen to me and please verify if you had the same (sounds like it).
1. Installed 10.8.4 on top of 10.8.3 and install went fine.
2. I have installed a Niffy Drive (though no SD in it) ... but did not realize potential problem you suggest.
3. its a MBPr
4. Boot took for every (it 40 seconds from after I logedin to system screen on 10.8.3) but after (ie on 10.8.4) took forever 10-15 minutes with a cursor in the upper left on a white/gray screen.
5. I reinstalled to 10.8.3 and all works as before
6. But sounds like after removing niffy dirve I should reinstall??? Ie the problem I described was the same as yours.

APPLE DOCKING STATION NO LONGER WORKS WITH TOUCH 3G and 4G after ios 4.2.1 update.
I have both of these touches. I updated both 3g and 4g to ios 4.2.1 and poof...no docking station support other than charging, no audio and no remote function. My av/cable works with the tv, and the headphone jack still outputs audio, just no auido through the Apple dock and hte remote is dead. I purchased the dock from the apple store last year and it was working with both ipod 3g and 4g grrrrr...
Is Apple now in the bug trade business?, trade one for another....
Anyone else have this problem?

My iPod Touch 3G running 4.2.1 works fine with the Apple docking station.

i have tried this new charset combination specifically for iphone and i m waiting for response from sweden alliance.....i hope this works fine as iso works great for 8-bit characters.

Transitions no longer works in 4.0.1

After updating PP 4.0.0 to 4.0.1 my transitions between still images is no longer working.
Is there a solution for this issue?

I have installed PP CS4 on 2 different computers and both is updated to 4.0.1 a few days ago.
Unfortunately I now - after updating from 4.0.0 to 4.0.1 - have exact the same problem on both machines, which have different CPU's and Video cards.
Transitions between to movie clips works fine.
Transitions between a still image and a movie clip works also fine.
But transitions between 2 still images don't work any longer.
I can preview or scrub over the transitions and they dissolve fine.
But when I render and playback, the transition is there but it's "not transitioning".
Image 1 have a hard cut into the next image as when no transition is used.
I have no third-party plug-ins.
I have only video edditing software (PP, Encore and PS Elements 7) on both machines. Nothing else.
Only one monitor on each Pc.
Machine 1:
Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit - SP1 - Danish
Processor: AMD Phenon(tm) 9500 Quad-Core 2.20 Ghz

Red Giant transitions no longer work in Mac OS 10.9.5

I recently updated my Mac Pro to 10.9.5 and now my Red Giant Universe transitions, such as Swish Pan (works like Wind Blur in Final Cut) have all stopped working. Not only do they no longer work, but they make my project crash and I have to create a copy of the project. Has anyone else had this experience? Is there any way to fix it?

My two cents-- I'm a fan of Red Giant and have a bunch of their products but Universe has been a dud in my opinion. Didn't upgrade to the premium version but kept it installed just to kick the tires and it's been a total headache. Finally uninstalled it.
May not be Red Giant's issue per se, but for whatever reason all my Adobe stuff runs better without it.

How do I burn a slide show to CD or DVD for PC users to view?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. You can send the slideshow to iDVD and burn a DVD disk that can be played on PCs or thru TVs via a DVD player.
If the PCs have Quicktime installed you can export your slideshow to Quicktime movie and burn that to either a CD or DVD depending on the size of the file.
A third method would be to create a HTM gallery web page with the slides using the build in gallery mode in the Export window or the freeware Galerie. Then burn the folder to a CD. The PC users can open the index.html file on the browser and view the photos with their browser.

"Slide show" for a web page

Hi all! I have a client who wants me to make a slide show to go on his web page. Up until now, I've been creating animated gifs. But now he wants the slides to fade or dissolve in to one another. I can do this in iMovie. But... the slide show has to be a specific size. I'm not sure in iMovie how to make a specifically sized movie. Plus, I'm not sure of the best way to save it. SWF? I've posted on the iMovie forum, but didn't get any helpful responses. I've looked online for help, but apparently I'm not using the right search criteria. All I find are instructions on making movies to run off of a computer.... not on a web page.
Oh... it also needs to loop continuously. Is this a setting I set in Dreamweaver? Animated gifs are set to loop when I create them in Photoshop. But I couldn't figure out how to do this in iMovie.

There are so many programs that can do this, the choice really depends on what else you want it to do besides present pictures. iPhoto, which came free with your computer, is the first one to try. It will play a sound track with your slide show if you want it to, and you can select a variety of transition effects between slides. For a plain slideshow with no sound, bells or whistles, I like [ViewIt|http://www.hexcat.com/viewit>.
