Dist Suit Objects in Critical Status

Dare all,
I have a Sun machine to which I connected 4 D1000 Disk arrays, I created a Mirror and a Concatenated-Strip volume.
All went OK, I used the command line to do this, when I check the status with # metastat I can see that every thing is fine; all disks are online and have the Okay stat.
However, I thought it would be time for me to start working with the Solstice Disk Suite GUI �metatool�; when I opened it I was surprised to see that all my objects where is �Critical� status!!!
Even the disks where in critical status, simply all of them!
When I examine an object, for example my mirror and then select the disk view, all disks have this read �Repair� sign on them.
My question is, what is now the correct status, the one showed by the metastat or metatool?
And :
How can I repair a disk in a volume? That is; what should I do to correct the status from critical to OK?
PS: I'm using Solaris 8 with Solstice v4.2.1

Tanks for the reply, I solved the problem some days ago, yes you are right it was one of the inetd configurations; to be exact I had to add the following lines to the /etc/inetd.conf file:
# rpc.metad
100229/1 tli rpc/tcp wait root /usr/sbin/rpc.metad rpc.metad
#rpc.metamhd
100230/1 tli rpc/tcp wait root /usr/sbin/rpc.metamhd rpc.metamhd
as I understood; basically rpc.metamhd needs to be running in order for metatool to correctly report on disk status.
This was not the case and had to be manually added to the inetd.conf in order to be started when the inetd starts.

I have also noticed that "Distributed Transaction Coordinator" is not able to start.

COOIS - Saving Object Overview WIP Status layouts

COOIS - Would like to be able to save the layout of an Object Overview - WIP Status report. There is currently NO icons for "choose layout" , "export" or "views" available while in Object Overview.   I need to be able to create a report showing the header and operations list and this is the only way to get both on the screen at the same time.
After I create the report layout with the fields needed, cannot save this format in any way.   The only thing I can do is print the report to a PDF file for others to view. Would like to be able to save the format I have created and bring it up on screen anytime without have to create it from scratch each time. This would prove a great resource if I only had the ability to save the layout. Especially when have a few 100 production orders.

CJ20N Authorization Object for Project Status Changes

Hi Gurus,
Can any one knows the Authorization Object responsible to control the change of status for a project in the CJ20N?
We want to control who can and who can't change the STATUS of a project independent from other changes.

User authorization object B_USERSTAT. Before that u should define authorization key in Tcode:BS52 and assign it to User status in Tcode:OK02.
In authorization object B_USERSTAT set ERSL=Authorization Key, so that the user can change the status of that perticular status only.

I think i misinterpret my requirement.
I have various other applications looking into my metadirectory. There is integration between OIM and Metadirectory and we have to update the various priviledges (multi value data) in Meta Resource form for this so that from MetaDirectory they can flow to other systems. For that i was thinking of using dummy resource object for each resource (attached to Meta). To update the various priviledges (group names and other entitlements) in meta collectively , i think we attached the dummy resource to access policies and once the values will update in dummy resource process form we can update the Meta Process Form accordingly (though i am not sure with this part that how can i achieve this). Also can we define the multi value data field in process form. By default child table having lookup is multivalue field (may be its only my conception) can we add it in core process form?
Pardon me for confusion but i am really patch up between business and technical people requirement :(...
just a follow up i need a pre-populate kind of functionality managing by access policy but after the value pre-populate in dummy resource object process form how to update the value in other process form and update the target resource.

If the predefined HR-Org. object types, e.g. position, and info types, e.g. links, are not sufficient, you can also create object and info types.

Resource Object - Add Custom Status

Hi All,
When I add a custom status in a resource object and map it in my process task the UI does not display it when the resource has been provisioned successfully. The resource is displayed in the User in status null. Has anyone add custom status in a resource object and use it?

Objective Setting & Appraisals - Status Flow

Hello,
I'm working on OSA module.
When i configure the status flow, i have two options regarding the state of the appraisal after status change:
- Save and Change to Display Mode
- Save and Exit Appraisal Document.
My requirement is that the appraisal is saved and user can continue editing.
Is there a way to add an option here?

Typically if you are using push buttons to move the document into a new status / sub status, you would be moving the document to another person in the process, so I'd be interested to know what the exact requirement is. Are you wanting to put it in a new sub status for reporting reasons?
If you are making changes and want to change the status, but still stay within the document and edit, im not sure you can do that through standard configuration. Have you tried not selecting one of the two options and leaving it blank? I wonder what that would do?

Clear Critical status notifications

I've setup notification for critical states in OEM. We are getting the alerts and everything was beautiful, until we got one that no one cares about. I've removed the metric from rules that we get alerted on, but the notifications keep coming. What tha..........??? Do I need to clear something else?

State Migration Point Status Shows Critical

Our environment is a single primary site with one primary server (MP, FSP, DP, SMP, etc.) and four remote servers that function as DPs and SMPs. The primary site server is reporting in the Site Status window that it is in a Critical status, except
that everywhere else shows nothing is wrong. It has been this way for several weeks. Under Component Status, every component reports OK. All of the smpmgr.log files show no errors and show the typical health check success messages. I
can't find any reason that this role is reporting Critical in the Site Status window, and resetting counts isn't helping. Has anyone run into this before or do you have any ideas how to resolve this short of un-installing and re-installing the role.

"Site System Status Summarizer still cannot access storage object" after DB Move

After our SCCM server was up and running, the DBAs moved the SQL Site Database to a new drive which is a supported SQL Operation according to this Support document:

Using the methods described by the above document we were able to restore functionality to SCCM but I am still seeing Informational messages in the SMS_SITE_SYSTEM_STATUS_SUMMARIZER component.
Site System Status Summarizer still cannot access storage object "\\<SQLServer>\S$\SMS_<SQLServer>" on site system "\\<SQLServer>". The operating system reported error 67: The network name cannot be found.
Possible cause: The site system is turned off, not connected to the network, or not functioning properly.
Solution: Verify that the site system is turned on, connected to the network, and functioning properly.
Possible cause: Site System Status Summarizer does not have sufficient access rights to connect to the site system and access the storage object.
Solution: Verify that the accounts are properly configured to allow the site to connect to the site system and access the storage object.
Possible cause: Network problems are preventing Site System Status Summarizer from connecting to the site system.
Solution: Investigate and correct any problems on your network.
Possible cause: You took the site system out of service and do not intend on using it as a site system any more.
Solution: Remove the site system from the list of site systems used by this site; this list appears under Site Systems in the Configuration Manager Console.
Possible cause: You accidentally deleted the storage object or took the storage object out of service.
Solution: The components will eventually detect that the storage object no longer exists on the site system and will either recreate it or choose a new storage object. Monitor the status messages reported by other site components to verify that this
occurs properly.
The storage object has been inaccessible since "14/03/2015 1:23:20 AM". When you correct the problem and Site System Status Summarizer successfully accesses the storage object, Site System Status Summarizer will set the storage object's status
to OK, providing that the storage object has sufficient free space.
I have run a site reset to try and fix this but the site server still seems to be trying to access files on the old drive. Is there a method to get SCCM to start looking for these files on the NEW DB drive (H$) in my case?

Yes, I tried a site reset prior to making this post. I was sure I had read that this should resolve the issue but unfortunately it seems a site reset did not resolve the issue.
Since we are running a virtualized environment, is it possible the old drive has to still exist prior to running the site reset? If we add a small "S" drive back to the server and run the site reset again, might that help?

SUN Fire V65 - System Status LED - non-critical condition

Hi guys
We have a Checkpoint Cluster which is made up of 2 Sun Fire V65 servers.
The front panel of the servers are showing the System Status LED lights as Blinking Amber , which sun documenation has listed as
"Blinking amber: Indicates the system is in a non-critical condition" ref: http://dlc.sun.com/pdf/817-2024-12/817-2024-12.pdf
We have resetead the hardware, cleared ,logs, even change HW etc. The light goes away for some time and then returns.
Can anyone advise on what to do?
Sun has the following listed in their Troubleshooting pdf i ref before
"Non-Critical Condition
A non-critical condition is indicated with a blinking amber status LED and signifies
that at least one of the following conditions is present:
¡ Temperature, voltage, or fan non-critical threshold crossing.
¡ Chassis intrusion.
¡ Satellite controller sends a non-critical state, via the Set Fault Indication
command, to the BMC.
¡ A Set Fault Indication command from the system BIOS. The BIOS may use the Set
Fault Indication command to indicate additional, non-critical status such as
system memory or CPU configuration changes"
Is there any Unix / Linux / SPLAT logs I can look at or debugging we can look at.

Your initial description mentions that you have swapped various pieces of hardware around. I presume that means you used current parts instead of new-never-used components. Are both of the clustered systems showing the same symptoms?
I can only think of a couple of additional things to try.
Firstly, those are old boxes. V65's went EOL in January 2005, so yours are at least that old if not older. They are x86 architecture. Have you replaced the CR2032 CMOS battery that's on the systemboard? Have you additionally checked for voltage fluctuations in the data center? A marginal power supply can "mostly work" but it can be effected by an AC mains issue.
If that doesn't change anything, then you may need to contact Checkpoint. They may be able to point you toward some sort of heartbeat function that is tripping a fault level when it flip-flops between the two systems.
That's a software investigation and would be outside the scope of this forum.

Is it possible change status of a object?

I'm currently learning AS3 to develop my own game but my previous experience in game development is with LUA script. Within Lua script, you can write/script objects with different statuses with IF statements. For an example,

In other words if object 1001 (for an example, a key) mets the criteria of status 1 = this will happen or if it mets the status 2 = another triggered event. I was wondering if this is possible to do this with AS3 code?
Let me explain what I want to achieve, I want script a event when you kill enemy, it turns to block which the player push around. I thought to do via frames of the enemy object - frame 1 = enemy, frame 2 = block.

I've attempted this code, it doesn't work and also tried the status code above from my Lua experience as well, no luck. Any suggestions? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
P.S - Random question - How you do any sites/books that share script files to look at to reference to and learn from?

It usually best to include the complete error messages you are getting along with some indication of line numbers for the code.
The code you show appears to have one brace too many... which might lead to the problem you are encountering...

System Status of newly added project objects for a RELEASED Project.

Hi Experts
During the course of execution of project, we may need to add new activities.
However, as the project is released, the newly added activtity or project object attains REL status.
How to ensure CRTD status for the newly created object so that can ensure subsequent release by Higher Authority.
I think user status may be useful here but i do not know how to set. Please suggest feasible solution.

Release status is PS pass on for PS Objects. So, Create two no. of Level one WBS Element in your PS Structure. One for which you want release that structure you create under that WBS and Second WBS don't Release and use the same leg for your created status structuring.
And do not Release Project Definition, Let it be max. PREL only, Till your structuring process is over.
I think User status cannot help you in this case. ( Because user status reside between the System Status )
