Distiller 8 Server issue on a Virtual Server

We had distiller Server V8 running on a windows 2003 3 server and had no known problems.  We had that server virtualized and we are beginning to see an issue and wonder if it is related.  We have multiple watched folders receiving .ps files from two different sources.  We are seeing files from one one "in" source being distilled into the "out" folder of the other source, renamed the name of one of the files that should be in the other source.
To explain..file named "a1.ps" from source "a", place in the "a" in folder is being renamed file "B1" and showing up in the "B" out folder.
Is there an issue with Distiller Server 8 running on a Virtualized Server?

HI,
Oracle is provided two documents for OAS install in Solaris (32bit and 64bit).
Here I am providing both documents.
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B31017_01/solx86.1013/install.pdf --- Oracle app server install 32bit
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B31017_01/sol.1013/install.pdf -- orcle app server install 64bit
Award points it is useful.
Thanks,
satya

  • License Server: IP Address for Virtual Server

    Hi everyone,
Our license server is installed at 192.168.1.5 : 30000.  Our internal network is able to access the server.  Some SAP Business One client are located remotely so they must connect to server through VPN in which the VPN service provided us 10.8.17.5 as server address.  If I want to run the SAP B1 from remote, it is asking me the license server selection.  I entered 192.168.1.5 - connection with license server failed.  I also tried the 10.8.17.5, same thing, the error message is - connection with license server failed.  What could be a possible work around for us in the remote site to be able to access the SAP B1 and pass through the License Server Selection window?

  • Application Server issues when running in EC2

I have deployed a war file to the app server on an Ubuntu machine running in Amazon's EC2. The application starts up, server logs are redirected to a custom log file, and everything seems to run fine. However, shortly after starting up an exception shows up in the log file that appears to be significant, and logging dies even though the site continues to run. The exception in the log file is below. I have other Ubuntu systems on which this does not happen. Any thoughts on what the problem might be?

    Hi Ilya,
You know that this forum is to discuss the VS Debugger tool, not the real development forum, so to really repro this issue and make sure that whether it is the VS issue or the project issue or others. Could you share us a simple sample with One drive? I
will debug it with the same Environment as yours.
If you have other VS machine, please also debug it again. But if it still has this issue, I doubt that it would be related the specific project.
    >>Now, the weird thing is when I run the same Windows Forms app directly from the build folder without Visual Studio or in Visual Studio without Debugger (Ctrl+F5), it works fine!
Please clean and rebuild your project, and then re-click the .exe in build output folder, does it still work normally?
If you add breakpoints in your code, and then debug it, after the breakpoint is hit, you could use the option "Step Into(F11)" to debug the code one step by one step, maybe it is related to the specific line code.
If you get any information, please feel free to let me know.
If still no help, please also attach your Visual Studio project, you can upload it to the one drive, and then share the download link in your post. Please also attach a screenshot image in your post.
If there's any concern, please feel free to let me know.
    Sincerely,
    Jack

  • Zero Memory Management on a virtual server

    Hello,
I hope you can help. I am looking into performance issues on a virtual server that hosts 2 SAP instances. The server is on windows 2003. It has 12GB of RAM and 30GB of paging.
PHYS_MEMSIZE on the Dev system is set to 8GB and PHYS_MEMSIZE is set to 12GB on the test system.
SQL has been allocated approximately 5GB of memory.
Through reading posts i have read that the split on the server for memory between SAP and SQL should be 70/30. So by me reckoning SQL should have about 3.5GB and SAP should have about 8GB shared between instances with a little left over for windows.
    Is this correct?
    Thanks in advance.
    Emily

70/30 is just a rough estimate.
Check where your bottlenecks are and configure accordingly. If you really need 12 GB of RAM for the application server (check e.g. the peak usage in ST02) then you should leave that. If you don't then I'd give the database more RAM. More RAM --> more cache --> less reading --> faster system.

  • Virtual Server Operational Status

As a newbie to the ACE I was wondering if someone could explain the following behavior?
I am troubleshooting a connectivity issue where a Virtual Server has been setup associated with a ServerFarm.
The ServerFarm contains a single RealServer. This server has a Health Check via an SSL Layer 4 (443) probe.
When looking at the probe in ANM it says success. The ServerFarm in turn shows the server being probed with an Operational Status
of InService. If I then look at the Virtual Server associated with the ServerFarm it has a configured state of InService, but an Operational State of  N/A
and a last polled of N/A.
I don't understand this as the RealServer is up via the health check, and the ServerFarm shows this, but the Virtual Server doesn't indicate this.
Can anyone share any insight as to how this works?
Thanks for your help in advance.

    James,
It is possible that you are hitting bug CSCte12130.  The stated work around is to reboot the ACE.  However, you may want to open a TAC Case first.
    Thanks,
    Chris

  • Business connector on Virtual Server

    Hi All,
I need a urgent help to know, if there are any disadvantages if we setup a Business connector environment in Virtual Server rather than a Physical server?
The situation is, currently I have business connector working on Physical server, for which a Warranty is reach end of life and no further support to the hardware is possible from the mother company.
Hence we have a plan of moving the Business connector in the physical server to a new virtual server provided by our infrastructure team as virtual servers are less costlier than physical server. Hence I would like to know how good to choose Virtual Server for business connector.
Also, do any one can suggest what is the best way of approach would be, to move the existing Business connector server operations to new hardware i.e. is it fine to do pure system copy and will it work? or else do I need to redo from installing the BC software and configuring it manually.
    Thanks,
    Bindu

    Hi Bindu,
we are running all of our BC servers on VMWare images. Works perfectly. You are better off installing the BC from scratch and remember if you are installing it onto Windows XP or alike you should select the Windows 2000 compatibility mode both for installation as well as when running it. This will allow it to run just fine.
Be aware that BC 4.8 is due to be released soon and that will give you a supported, JVM updated version of BC for Windows and Linux. Currently all JVM versions are un-supported for previous BC versions.
If you use the same name and IP for your virtual server than what you had for the previous physical server you should not see any changes in your configs. Again, we have moved these from physical to virtual doing just that and it all worked well.
If you don't care about support at this point in time then you can also run the whole lot on a newer JVM, though if this is feasible or necessary is up to you.
    Cheers
    Kalle

  • Update: E4200 Media Server Issues

    Dear All,
Late last week engineering released beta firmware for the E4200 that should resolve the media server issues many have experienced.  This firmware release will go through a cycle of testing internally as well as with members of the community that we have been working with. Once the firmware has gone through the required testing and approvals it will be released publicly.  There is no ETA at the moment but we will update the community once a release window has been identified.

    Dear All,
Here is an update on the media server issue.
"The media server issue is definitely a software issue as confirmed by the engineers. A fix has been built, tested and is close to release. The firmware is currently going through the Engineering release process. This process is time consuming as this firmware is open-source and requires that Cisco follows strict guidelines to ensure that they are in compliance with the GNU General Public License. Estimated release date is around 3rd or 4th week of September if there are no other issues."
As promised, we will keep track of this issue until a fix has been released. Again, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.

  • SJSW7-Directing virtual server log

all my virtual server logging are stored in the default directory. I have one instance running, however, I would like to create a separate folder for each virtual server and store their log information in it. I tried configuring a virtual server under log preferences and have both server log and access log boxes checked and the location set but after testing it out, both directories are empty.

  • VMWare: 1 Oracle installation per virtual server, or 1 separate install

The scenario is that we are going to put our support benches on VMware.
The question is: should we have 1 oracle installation per virtual server or a separate virtual server for oracle.
If we go for the 1 oracle installation per virtual server, this mimics our customer environment.
If we install oracle separately, then we have to run two virtual machines. One for Oracle(with one instance per customer) and one for the Product which connects to the appropriate instance.
Looking at it I'm inclined to go for the 1 orcale installation per virtual server, as this will allow for easier maintenance and upgrade paths.
Apart form disk space , are there any other drawbacks?
Are there any advantages to having oracle on a separate virtual machine?

VMWare is not supported for Oracle, so if this is to mimic a customer environment, then you should be aware of this. In my personal experience I have not seen any noticeable difference from the testing and learning point of view.
Installing Oracle on VMWare at the end of the day will consume the resources of the server where the VM is hosted, so it is all up to the CPU and memory resources you have in your host server. A drawback is the hard disk speed, the lower the more noticeable performance reduction, so be aware of this. It is advisable, you should make sure you have installed the VMWare tools.

  • Virtual server is already managed by another virtual server pool

I was trying to register a server to a server pool on OEM 10.2.0.5 console, on the first try it never completed the registration, it errored out. After doing 'clear operation error' I try to register the same server, Now I get "virtual server is already managed by another virtual server pool". Does any one ran into similar situation? How do I clear this? Thank you.

How do I clear this? Thank you. It's fairly simple to clear. First, stop the ovs-agent on the server:
    # service ovs-agent stopThen, remove the local ovs-agent database:
    # rm -rf /etc/ovs-agent/db Then, start the agent again:
    # service ovs-agent startThe agent will now be reset back to an unconfigured state.

  • Need help in creating virtual server

    Hi
I have configured the sun ONE portal server to run on a domain p1.test.com. A default virtual server with the listen socket is existing for this virtual server. But now I need to access the portal with another domain name p1.test.co.in. I have tried creating another virtual server but it is not working. Please help me in creating the virtual server. For the "urlhost", whether I have to specify the original machine name or new domain name. Please help me in this issue.
    Regards
    ram

    Hi,
Thanks for your reply. Actually I need the same content for both the url's. The DNS entries are already for the two urls's. It is getting the login page. But after giving the credentials it dosent brings the portal desktop page (seems to be going in a loop).
I have my Sun ONE LDAP server configured with the domain "test.com". Is there any changes that I have to make in the LDAP. Please help me in this issue.
    Thank You.

  • How do I set up a virtual server with a time capsule?

I am trying to set up a wireless camera in my house to be viewed from away from the house.
I cannot seem to figure out port forwarding/virtual serving on the settings of my time capsule. I had no issues doing it with my old router. Does time capsule have that abilty?
    I have Macs and PCs,

    I figured it out.

  • Blue screen error after converting physical to virtual server using disk2vhd

I have used the sysinternals disk2vhd to create the c: drive from a Dell server. I was able to create a virtual server and boot but had licensing issues. After a support call and doing a repair install to change licensing I am now getting a: "a process or
thread crucial to system operation has unexpectedly exited or been terminated" after the virtual machine boots and I log on. I tried to get the integration services installed but the server wouldn't stay running long enough.
Any suggestions for resolution would be appreciated.

    Hi,
Have you tried the suggestion? I want to see if the information provided was helpful. Your feedback is very useful
for the further research. Please feel free to let me know if you have addition questions.

  • Getting Virtual Server ID within OS running on guest VM

    Hi,
If I login to OVM Manager and look at the info that is shown for a Virtual Server (under the info tab), there is a ID field.
I want to get this ID from within the OS running on one of the guest VMs. Could you let me know how can this be done? Which command can I use?
    Regards,
    Vinay

I have never installed the EM agent on Dom0. I always taken the approah of install in the EM agent on the guest and then attaching the VM Manager to EM. Thus, you get the performance stats of the guest themselves and the performance stats of the VM Servers themselves. I know it works. I'm doing it now. I do have collect issues from time to time and its more prevalent on some hardware than it is others.
