Distiller Doesn't See PS File...

After creating a pdf from a ps file in a particular folder, if I save another ps in that same folder and return to make another pdf file, Distiller doesn't see it. I have to quit distiller in order to go back to that same folder to see the ps. This is a new thing that came about, I have been able to do this successfully in the past. Distiller Version 6.0.2, MAC OSX 10.3.9.
Any ideas?

That's weird... Everything is in the same folder... Ah, never mind, I have found the solution in the meantime Like with dvips, I have command (which I didn't know I had ) ps2pdf... And everything works there...

I created the XML file in Adobe Priemer Pro. Final Cut doesn't see this file. The file in the list not the active. Prompt please.

The XML format Premiere uses is not supported in FCPX. The only way I know of that may work is to go through FCP7 and then use 7toX to get to FCPX.

  • Import doesn't see new files

I am saving a file from Elements 9 into a folder that is managed by LR3.  Usually when i save to this folder I go into LR3 and do a sync folder and the file shows up.  All of a sudden this has gotten very squirrely.  sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.  when i saved the file to my desktop and try to do an import from there, LR doesn't even see the file at all, which is why i'm guessing the sync isn't working.  I've tried saving them as JPG, PSD, TIFF all with no success.  anyone else seen this problem?
    i am running a mac with snow leopard 10.6.5, LR3 3.2, PSE9.

Lr will only sync with your desktop if there are already images within your library that are already stored there. Likewise, it will only sync with subfolders if "Include subfolders" is enabled in Import window.

  • I updated to Mavericks and Aperture 3.5. After the update, Aperture doesn't see referenced files. I get "No Referenced Files"

I updated to Mavericks and Aperture 3.5.  All my images are referenced on a stand-alone drive.  After the update, Aperture displays thumbnails, but I can't edit because Aperture doesn't see the referenced file ("image offline") and when choose all of my images and I run locate referenced files ... I get "No Referenced Files."  I don't get the screen to "look" for the files.

Did you make a clean install and restore the library from a backup?  No.
Or did you install the new system amd new version on top of the old system?  Yes.
What version did you upgrade from? 3.4
Is your Aperture library onyour internal drive or also on an external drive? External
During the update, has your Aperture library been moved in any way? No, its still where it was on the external drive.
    Thanks for your help.  Ideas?

  • 2.1.4 doesn't see tiff files to import

    Hello again
In dealing with the green overlay issue, I upgraded to 2.1.4.
I'm working on archiving (and restoring a bit) some old family photos, and while working out the green ghost, I decided they weren't sharp enough and decided to rescan them using a different scanner.
I scanned them at 1200 ppi and saved them in tiff format (16-bit grayscale and 48-bit colour) instead of jpg for better quality. I figured that would be fine since Aperture creates tifs when I edit in NIK plugins.
Tonight I opened Aperture and went to import my tiffs into a new project and there were no files to import. Which is strange, since I could see them right there in the finder.
So, I thought maybe they were too big, and opened one in PS, changed the mode to 8-bit grayscale and 600 ppi, but Aperture still didn't see it in the folder.
Soooo, I renamed the 2.1.4 Aperture app and reinstalled my 2.1.2 Aperture and ta-da! there were the files!
So 2.1.2 imported all the tiffs, large as they were, into my project (referenced). I closed this app, and reopened the 2.1.4 Aperture and sure enough, there in that new project were the images that it couldn't see to import for itself.
    What gives?
Sure it's a work-around, but now i'm having to tolerate the green overlay and wait for aperture to think it over before it shows me some of my work, then I have to import with an earlier version just because it can't see the files, (on top of having to convert my RAW files to DNG when the camera came out 2 years ago) ... this is getting frustrating and is tres inefficient.
Is there something I'm missing here?
    Elizabeth

Well, there you go. That solved the issue.
I didn't realize that Aperture would search it's existing projects to find 'duplicates'!
And yet, the names are different for the tiffs and jpgs, only the images themselves are the same.
    I am befuddled.
Thank you for the solution, Tony

  • New iTunes Library doesn't see .aif file

I gathered my music into one new library on a new external HD but it didn't gather in the .aif file I made as an audio track for a movie. I can see it and click on it but it comes up with a QuickTime player window. If I play it, the track plays but doesn't get added to my new library. On the other hand, if I open iTunes from the old library (which I thankfully kept) it shows up and plays through iTunes. Since I need to occasionally burn this file to CD I would really like to have it with the rest of my music. So? What's going on? This track was created using Audacity if that matters.

I don't know what "gathering" involves. Have you tried simply dragging the file to an iTunes playlist to add it?

  • I Tunes 6 doesn't see all files

I have my I Tunes folder on an external firewire drive. I notice if I search for certain songs, or artists on the drive I Tunes doesn't find it. If I open the I Tunes folder I see the songs and artists in folders. Any help plz

First go to Preferences->Advanced and make sure your music folder location is set to that external drive. If not change it to that, also make sure "copy music to iTunes folder" is ON.
If some music is still not showing up in the iTunes library, go File->Add to Library and choose the iTunes Folder on your external drive. It will look through the foler and it will add any music not already in the LIbrary. It will not create duplicates.
    Does that work?

  • DNG converter 7.1 doesn't see  NEF files

I've been using a previous version (4.5) of the DNG Convertor without any problems.
    I downloaded 7.1 version after buying a Nikon D800.
However when navigating to folders the program sees NO  files (D800, Nikon  D3, RAW, jpg.  or otherwise) saying "no items match your search" once the folder is opened.
Please help.  Computer is Windows PC running Vista Home Premium.

    Jim,
Please see my response to your answer on the adjacent posting - just to reiterate, I can see and try to select a folder I know to contain NEFs, but the program says "no folder selected" so that's that basically it and I can go no further. I've been using an earlier version of the dng converter which behaves in the way you outline with no problems at all. However I need the new version for D800 NEFs. I've tried to post a screenshot of the window where I select a folder. - I see the image isn't very clear but I've selected a folder outlined in blue on the left in the browsing window and the large window says "no items match your search"

  • LR doesn't see TIFF files to import

I use an Android tablet to pre-process images. I saved a bunch back to the SD card into the same folder with the original RAW files and some newly created XMP files generated by the tablet. Then I removed the SD card and put it in a card reader on my Mac, and imported into LR 5.6.
LR only saw the ORF RAW files. It imported those, and the XMP data, successfully. But it never saw the TIFFS nor did it give me the option to import. I used the Finder to copy them to the Mac's filesystem, pointed LR at that folder, and it imported them successfully (although I forgot to have it move them to the same directory as the RAWs). I have successfully generated tons of TIFFs from within LR, and I've probably imported many as well, although truth be told I'm not sure.
What's the problem? is there a setting I missed somewhere? something about the format of the SD card (formatted in camera, so I assume Fat32).
    Rob

    I don't do jpg
The good news is I figured it out. For some reason I was usiing "Devices" in the import dialog, while I had been using "Files" before that. So in essence it was looking at /Volumes/SDcard. And I guess the "include subfolders" doesn't work there since I guess it's for iPhones, cameras and whatnot. I switched over to "Files," toggled the show subfolders on and off, and now all is right.
Thanks guys! This helped me zero in on the solution. And now I know I can use my tablet to create a subfolder to hold all the processed images, or the camera folder itself (for the XMPs).

  • I downloaded DNG Converter 8.7 and as a standalone app it doesn't see RAW files from my 7D Mark 2.

I don't want to upgrade from Elements 11 yet.
When I got my 60D I had to install the DNG converter and after a few uses, Elements 11 started to see them too.
    On a 64 bit Win7 PC.

When you use Select the images to convert, you don't want to actually open the folder, just click on the name of the folder in Content Pane of windows explore, not in the Navigation Pane.

  • My iPad doesn't see the files saved on the cloud with my macbook: why

I have keynote files on my iPad that i made on my macbook, but now they are not transferring.  I save a copy on the macbook to the cloud, but when I go to www.icloud.com, they are not there, and subsequently not transferring to my iPad either.

    Hey Bennettskis,
Thanks for the question. After reviewing your post, it sounds like documents are not being uploaded to iCloud. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help you resolve or isolate the issue.

  • Manage Sites/FTP: Can't see site files in local view.

    Dreamweaver 5.5
    Mac OS X.6.8
I have several sites set up in Dreamweaver. All are working correctly except one. This one site I moved files using Finder into a deeper directory and then moved them back up to the top level directory. I have been working with the site since and saving, so that's not the issue. I am mentioning it because that is the only unique thing about the site that isn't working.
When I look at the site in the Files panel, I can see the directory I set up in Manage Sites but no files inside it. If I put all to my remote site, 0 bytes are transferred.
    So far I have
    1. removed the site and created a new one.
    2. Closed the app, blown away Drmwvr prefs, and reopened. The site is still there, so that prefs file doesn't cover it.
Any ideas? I cannot FTP files to my host if Dreamweaver doesn't "see" the files I need to put.
    Thx

Moving files in Finder is fine as long as you can follow the moves in your files panel. Troubles start when you move files outside of DW and then can't keep up with them. Broken links, orphaned pages, etc.
In Sites>Manage Sites you need to Edit the site in question and browse to the new root folder location. Then browse to the images folder and SpryAssets folder if you have one. Once you have redefined the site with the proper locations, the files will appear in the panel in DW.
As long as you haven't deviated from the correct structure on the server, you should be able to put files and they will upload.
As a rule, when moving or renaming files in a defined site, do it from within the Files Panel in DW, not in Finder. DW will update links and pages when you do and things will go much more smoothly.

  • Lightroom doesn't see photos on Canon EOS

I'm trying to import photos from a Canon EOS 30D into Lightroom 1.4.1 running on Vista.
When I click on Import I get the option of choosing the source -- either the Canon or a "choose files.." option. But when I click on the Canon I get a Warning message saying "No photos were found to import". If I select "choose files..." I can navigate to the Canon, but Lightroom doesn't see the files on the camera.
If I navigate to the camera using a My Computer window then I can find the files and drag them onto the PC and then import into Lightroom using the import from disk option. But it would be great if someone knew how to import them direct from the camera. Any ideas? Thanks!

2nd solution : as the EOS generally don't have mass storage mode, buy a card reader for a few bucks, and read your CF card in it.
It will be wayyyyyy faster and more convenient (battery drain, among other problems) than the camera/PC cable.

  • Getting iTunes to see music files on a different drive

My main HD failed, so I've been re-installing all my apps. I had all my music files on a separate internal drive.
I have tried everything I can think of, to get iTunes to "see" all my music files. I've held down the option key when starting iTunes. It will ask to find the library, I will choose the folder where all the music is stored, but it still doesn't show up in iTunes.
I've also tried putting an alias of the folder containing the music in the Music folder. Nothing.
I don't want to drag the music folder into the iTunes window, because I don't want to duplicate all the files to the new, master drive.
    Help! TIA, Bob

iTunes doesn't "see" new files in a folder.
When you set iTunes prefs to a new location, it will simply put all new music in the library in that location.
iTunes prefs -> Advanced. Set the iTunes music folder location to where your music is on the external.
Go to iTunes menu File -> Add folder to library and select the topmost music folder on the external where your music is located.
This will add them to the iTunes library and keep them on the external.
