Distiller failure on a portion of text in the document

I have a question that I'm hoping someone can assist me with, we have a Mac running Acrobat 8.1.6 (Distiller version 8.1.3) that continually fails on a portion of text in the document when creating a PDF from an EPS file. I have verified that this machine is setup identical to the other Mac that is doing the same type of tasks just watching different folders, the PDF creation is successful on the machine we'll call EPS2, yet fails on EPS1 with the below failure log.
Can anyone point me in the correct direction as to where to look to try and rectify this issue?
The Stack portion of the error is the text I'm talking about (* Tax credit to 1st time homebuyers who have) this text is the beginning of a sentence about a promo for 1st time homebuyers, like I stated above the PDF creation is successful on one machine and fails on the other. I am at a loss as to where to look to correct this issue, any assistance that can be provided would be greatly appreciated.

Yes I had looked into clearing out the font caches, that also seemed to make no difference. We had one extra license sitting around for Acrobat Pro 9.0 so I installed that version and what do you know? the problem went away, must be something with the Intel's and how 8.1.3 handles the conversion. The file would fail on ALL the intel's but not the G5's, as soon as I upgraded the Intel with version 9.0 the problem vanished....odd, but understandable to a point I guess.
THat's good to know. Now we will know if you have a problem with Distiller 8 and you using a Intel machine perhaps Distiller 8 is not completely compatible with Intel machines.

Text in the document line item

Hi,
In COI, I am doing reclassification using document type.
System has posting the documents correctly, but strange thing is in the document header text, it was giving some text by itself.
Example of the actual text in the document header is as below:
"3B586AF9C74AF958DC4EFAB080B180B6D2E90F25"

Hi Dan,
You are correct. The text is coming by itself while doing Reclassification for dividend at PL 30.
Still confused why it is throwing some text in the document header..

EBS - Auto posting not working if text behind the document number

Hi,
When the document number is at the end of the payment reference, there is no problem.
    However, when there is text behind the document number, the posting rule doesn't work anymore.
    The autoposting also fails when there is a seperator (like a comma) directly added to the document number.
-   In the posting rule for invoice numbers (BE51), it is able to find multiple invoice numbers and clear these together.
    We were expecting this posting rule will behave the same, so when a customer mentions more than 1 document number,
    it is able to find them all and clear if they fulfill the criteria (total amount of the documents matches the amount received).
    But because of 1st mentioned problem, system doesn't clear anything because of additional text present.
I am look help to solve this issue

The long text is in :
tcode: fb02 -->input document no ... --> Document overview --> select one document
long text --> updating the value.
Becaust I want to update some items in a G/L Account with bdc or other technique, but I found I can't choose the items in the G/L Account with bdc automatically .That means I can't get the selected items and update them.So I try to update them with the function save_text directly (I know the doc no，bukrs,fiscal year ,item no which will decide the long text item).

Yes, you can update directly using SAVE_TEXT.

Is there a way to create a link within a document that will pull text from the document and open it up in a separate text box within the document?

I am trying to link sections of an form within a PDF back to instructions within the same PDF document. Instead of having this jump back to the page within the document I would like for it to pull up the identified text within a separate pop-up text box on the same page where the form lives. Is this possible?

Instead of linking back to the instructions page, may be you can use tool tips or comments so that the instructions can be seen besides the text.

What I am trying to do is link text at the bottom of a document to a page at the beginning of the document. I can't find a bookmark option adn when I clink insert link it only provides an options to link to a web page. Help! thanks

Bookmarks are missing (sadly) and with them, the ability to create an in document link.
I was looking for this feature in a Table of Contents. When you assign a 'style' to text in a document, you can Insert > Table of Contents. Then Pages will keep the TOC updated and you'll be able to 'link' from the page number in the TOC. (Not much help though, for the OP)

As you can see Word Online (and also standalone Office 2013) is showing one line (marked yellow) in reverse. This line also selects in reverse order and acts like some arabic or other RTL language. Though all text is in Lithuanian. Our employees have to
work with this document (it's a standard form) all the time. It shows fine with Office 2007, but as we have upgraded to 2013 it now shows like that and every time managers has to deal with this (copying to Outlook or other program where it copies normally
from left to right, and then back to this document). I wasn't able to find a setting to fix this text.

ExtendScript: Get all text from a document

Hi all.
I have the following task: I need to translate a document into another language using ExtendScript. So, as "input" I have a document with a text/graphics/tables/etc. in Language_1 and a "somehow-separated file", which will contain data about translation into the Language_2. E.g.:

Some_other_text_in_language_1     Some_other_text_in_language_2
To get the source text from the document, I've tried to use this:

But with this, I can only access the regular text in the document (e.g. the text in tables remains untougched). Is there any way I can the all textual data from specified document? Or maybe, the full list of controls, which can contain it, to iterate throught them and extract it one-by-one? Or maybe there's a better way to solve this problem?

There is another way to loop through ALL paragraphs in a document, regardless whether they are in a table or in the main text flow. You can use the FirstPgfInDoc property of the document and loop through all Pgf objects using the NextPgfInDoc property of the Pgf until you reach an invalid object. Note that this also includes all paragraphs in the master and reference pages, so it might be useful to check where the Pgf is located (on a body page or not). There is a script on this forum that does that - I believe it was created and posted by Rick Quatro.
Working your way through the main text flow does not guarantee that you have all the visible text in the doc. There may be multiple flows and there may also be text frames that are placed inside anchored frames. Those text frames are not contained directly in the main flow of the document.

Dear All,
Document line item text
My client want the vendor invoice line item text(BSIK-SGTXT) to be captured in the corresponding clearing document line item text field(BSAK-SGTXT).
(i.e) The vendor invoice and its payment clearing document should have the same text in the document line item text filed.
According to me i can use a substition rule and a user exit to assign the values. but here comes a problem* i have one clearing document against 3 to 4 vendor invoice documents* so my programming logic has got stucked here? like which vendor invoice line item text the clearing document should pick up?
is there any other enhancements possible or can some one help me with the programming logic to be applied here.

Why don't you discuss the issue with your client? As you said, if you pay 5 invoices in a single run, the payment document item text can't carry all of those texts unless you use the long text. What is the reason for the requirement? Perhaps there's another solution.

Adobe photoshop cc crashes/ work area goes black when i try to insert text to a document ?

Table of contents creation deletes text of entire document

Every time I try to create a TOC for the document I'm working on, InDesign either tells me the TOC has been updated — in which case the entire text of the document has just disappeared — or else it loads the cursor and gives me nothing but the title "Contents". Am I doing something obviously wrong?
(I've already done the IDML round-trip and the delete preferences.)

When I initially created the TOC, I put it into a separate story, and the TOC was empty — but the main text (which is in another single story) remained. Then when I updated the TOC, the main story was replaced with the word "Conents" (same as the TOC).
So I have no clue what's going on either! It must be some sort of file corruption not repaired by the IDML round-trip. Your own bafflement suggested that file corruption was the problem rather than some silly mistake I was making.
However, great news: I made a new document, pasted the main story into it, and now everything seems to be working in this new document.

Why does footnote text mix with the main text in a documents?

Hello good people
I have a annoying problem where the footnote text mixes with the general text in the document in Pages 5.2.
I'm writing research papers and I use considerable amount of footnotes. When there is more than a certain amount of footnotes in in one page, the main test of the document seems to fall behind the footnotes, making it almost impossible to read. The doc prints the same way. Saving, closing and reopening does not fix the problem. Exporting to Word does not fix the problem either. Neither does restarting the computer.
If I however hit enter until all the text is on a new page, sometimes that fixes the problem.
I'm using Pages 5.2 on a PowerBook Pro with fully updated Maverick.
Any solutions or good ideas ?

I don't know about text, but with Email, you are limited to how many bytes an attachment can be. Truthfully, I forget the limit, but there is a limit. One thing you can do is put it on YouTube and then direct the people you want to see the video to that particular URL. Also, I believe that there are a couple of apps which will allow you to send longer videos.

You want a script that analyses all the text in the document and remove any text inside parenthesis (including parenthesis) right?
Let´s explain some problems:
1. If your text is inside a locked layer or sublayer or it´s locked itself then it would perhaps be necessary first unlocking these (this can be included in JavaScript code).
2. If you text is inside symbol, or envelope and others...then JavaScript wont be able to acess such structure.
What´s the version of your Adobe Illustrator?
