Distinct boxes for chief position in Org Chart

Hi,
Is it possible to change the icons and the colours of the org chart boxes for line managers only (i.e. chief position or A012)?
What config is needed to make this change?

Hi Vibhu,
It is possible to these. For the icons you would need to write some code in the XSL file for the section that controls the icons. You can find the name of the XSL against the first section name in the detail presentation configuration in AppResources.xml. To change the box colour you need to find the detail configuration for the view and find the main presentation XSL for that view and amend that with some code.

A person who is playing the role of a crew leader should be able to fill the time sheet of his crew. This person will not be given the chief position for the org id that he is tagged to. There will be different person who will be tagged to the chief position and will be playing the role of a manager.
I want to understand, what exactly needs to be done in MSS for the crew leader to fill his team's timesheet ?

As such in MSS we have self services in general information page, where manager can enter details for his employees which are determined by evaluation path who reports to him which is again configurable done using OADP
In your case make a new evaluation path for the user so that he can see which employees are assigned to him not necessarily he has to be a manager

Chief Position Top Org Unit

Good Morning All.
We are having a problem with regards to the details that our Chief Exec can see within MSS. At the moment she can see all the details with regards to ESS and the inbox, however MSS does not seam to show any details. I have moved the position into another org unit and everything works fine, and have put my self in the top position and I get the same errors. We have created a new position and changed the user roles, how ever this does not make any difference.
Any Ideas?

How many direct subordinate employees are we talking about? Unless your CEX is the direct manager of several thousand employees, you probably shouldn't have a difficult time.
So if you don't have a role issue, then do you think it's possible one or more of the subordinate employees has data issues? Would you be willing to remove subordinate employees(by moving them to other org units)/org units to see if that isolates a situation where it runs faster?
Is this the only piece of MSS where this extended wait is being experienced for this particular user?

Teamviewer - All positions in Org Unit display depth between EP5 and EP6

We are in the process of upgrading our HR Portal from Version 5 to Version 6 (SP14) and have encountered an issue with the Team viewer functionality.
In our EP5 system when the user selects the dropdown option for 'All positions in org unit' it is picking up our Configuration limiting it to showing only 3 structure levels and when an attempt is made to display lower levels the expander changes but no more levels are shown (e.g. Expander icon changes but does not render the lower level).
In our EP6 system when the user selects the dropdown option for 'All positions in org unit' it is ignoring the same Configuration and lets the user select down to the bottom of the organisation. This will obviously have serious performance implications and so must be corrected if we are to implement this upgrade.
To test the situation we deployed the following par files from our EP5 system to our EP6 system and found that we achieved the required result of only allowing the configured levels to be shown:
com.sap,pct.hcm.objectanddatprovider.par
com.sap,pct.hcm.orgmanagementeventing.par
com.sap,pct.hcm.teamviewer.par
This points to an issue between these files from the EP5 version to the EP6 version.
Has anyone else experienced an issue with how the EP6 teamviewer handles the 'All positions in Org Unit' selection, and if so can you let me know any solution you have to it?

Unfortunately the only standard functionality is to change the rankings of the positions within transaction ppome. Therefore you have the buttons 'Move up in rank' and 'Move down in rank' in the overview area of the ppome. As you know if the field PRIOX in the table hrp1001 is empty, the transaction sorts the positions by OBJID. So perhaps you could create a abap program to change this standard functionality to insert values into field PRIOX for the corresponding relationship in HRP1001 that you want to sort.

Two Chief Position for an org unit

HI,
In PPOM I am unable to view two chief position for an 'X' org unit. I have checked in other 'Y' org. unit ( having similar attributes) and there two chief positions are displayed. The validity period and other relationship in both the org units are same.
Can any suggest on how the two cheif positions are displayed for X org unit. (The client is stating that when Y org unit can display two chief positions then why not X org unit).

What is the error or message that you are getting?
By default SAP allows an Org Unit to have multiple Chiefs assigned to it. Are you able to manually assign the relationship to that position via PO13?

Org Unit with more than one Chief Position

Hi,
we have implemented MSS via the portal using a one-to-one relationship between Org Units and Chief Positions, and we would now like to have multiple Chief positions attached to one Org Unit.
As far as I can tell from the SAP documentation, this should be straightforward, but the results we are getting do not seem correct.
I have an Org Unit that has position 1 and position 2 assigned to it with relationship A/B 012 denoting that they are Chief Positions.
User 1 is holder of position 1 and user 2 is holder of position 2.
Both users have the same security roles.
The views used on the portal are configured using the MSS Object and Data Provider functionality, using the standard ORGEH view, evaluation path for root objects SAP_MANG and evaluation path objects SBES. The checkbox 'Excl. Managers' is ticked.
The problem is this - both users can see all the subordinate employees in the Org Unit when they log on to MSS but user 1 can also see user 2 in his list of employees, which is not correct as user 1 and user 2 are both chiefs. User 2 cannot see user 1 in his list of employees, which we would expect.
The only logic we can see for user 1 being able to see user 2's details is that user 1 must be somehow defined as the 'superior' Chief Position, but we have not defined this as far as we know.
Any ideas as to why this is happening for us?

Sounds like you have set up the reporting structures and MSS properly. I do question why two chiefs for one org unit. As you stated, both can see all employees and so both can approve time, give pay increases, etc. without the approval of the other. If this is want you want, then you have set it up properly. Usually, one has to approve the actions of the other, thus, is in a superior relationship. This can be handled by having a higher level new org unit with the higher person as chief and the lower stay as head of the lower org unit which reports to it.
As you have it now, both individuals have the same rights and access. They should both be excluded from iViews if you checked the "Excl. Managers" box. Since, you just recently made one a manager, have you checked for any date dependencies? If the Chief #1 is selecting a view for "Current Year", for example, he would be able to see all persons who reported to him for this year, which includes Chief #2. There are no 'superior chief' designations (except by structure), so without being able to view your configuration, my suggestion is to check all dates for the assignments and relationships vs. dates of the view.

Position order under org chart not reflecting SAP

I I am having a problem at the moment where the position under the org chart boxes in nakisa do not reflect the order in SAP. Is there any setting to enable the true reflection of order in nakisa or is this a schema change?

Hi there,
Yes, you need to define the object sort order for each hierarchy in each orgchart. You can do this in the Admin Console by going to the OrgChart module, selecting your orgchart (e.g. Organisation Structure) and then going to Sort Fields. You will need to do this for any subsequent linked hierarchies too (where applicable) as you might want a different order for each type of object.

As name suggest ORG CHART its the image of your organization and its maintains certain hierarchy in SAP Standard for e.g. You will get to see Orgunit  Then SubOrgunit  Head Position/Positions (Multipal)  Person Holding those positions.
If you break this Hierarchy it will be difficult to trace the Employee and Duplication of records will take place . There are Reports which displays Employee to Position and Orgunit and the diplay of such report will be in Table and Colum Format .. it wount be in a Tree Format... you may go for Custom Development.
But do Check these report they all are Report based on Object type.

ORG CHART in BIP to build a position Hierarchy

I need any guidance to build a ORG Chart for building a position hierarchy structure. The BIP documentation makes it sound possible: "Use the organization chart functionality in your templates and the chart will be rendered in the output." . I found in Tim Dexter's blog that we can generate a Org Chart but nothing further as to how to do it.
Any pointers on this will be great help.

The main-reason is that bringing the customers to level1 massively influences the report-presentation in the bw. And because it concerns only the bw, I wanted to provide the lightly modified hierarchy only on that level.
I do not want to come into the situation that somebody (even not from the R/3 team) needs to manage an additonal hierachy. The existing hierachy should be the leading and only one in the R/3 - and should be used in the bw in the described modified format.

Restriction for only one chief position per organizational unit.

Options for presenting photo's in Nakisa 3.0 Org chart

We want to add employee photo's into the org chart in Nakisa but currently do not have photo's in SAP R/3. Is this a requirement before Nakisa will display these or can they be accessed by Nakisa if they are stored on a networked server for example with a specific naming convention?
Secondly to get org modeler working I believe we need to activate business function HCM_TMC_CI_1 and add an additional MS SQL, DB2 or Oracle database must be used for this to work. Is this correct and will activating the business function cause an issues with any implemented functionality?

We use Nakisa 3.0 staging the data from SAP. As our photos are not stored in SAP either, the extraction logs consist of lots of entries where the system is unable to retrieve the photo, as below:
WARN com.nakisa.Logger - com.nakisa.integration.sap.SAPConnector : HRWPC_RFC_EP_READ_PHOTO_URI : AbapException with these parameters: PERNR=00000006, DATUM=20101116, TCLAS= - ABAP Message: INTERNAL_ERROR
We have tried placing photos with <pernr>.jpg in the default installation directory of Images/Portraits/ however these are still not displayed. My assumption is that in order for these to be displayed the URI field on the EMPPHOTO or PHOTOURI field on the POSITIONEMPHIERARCHY table, or some other tables must be set to a certain value.
Any thoughts on this?

mayI add not mentioned crossplatformed tool ConceptDraw PRO with huge template galery for ERD, UML, ORM, flowcharts, etc. I’ve tried omnigraffle and conceptdraw, they both do a good job but conceptdraw seems to be more powerful. What i found interesting they provide their own office suite for mind mapping, project management and diagramming that works with ms products via xml.
In a combination with Conceptdraw Office this drawing tool can do much more than expected from the charting software, like live dashboards, visual reporting, interactive and smart mindmapping and infographics.

Transfer one position from One Org unit to another -For multiple positions

Hello All,
I want to know is there any easy way to transfer one position form one org unit to diff org units? I <b>dont want to delete the position</b>, infact I want to transfer the same position (the position Id will remain same) to another org unit.
I need to do multiple positions, hence pls suggest an easy way to do so.
I know it can be done thorugh<b> PPOM -by drag & drop option ,</b> but the transfer record does not get stored in IT 0000 (actions) for the respective pers no.
Hence, I want to easy wat, where we can do it for many positions , aslo the record gets stored in IT 0000. I tired with PA40, transfer action....
but still more easiest way?

One Chief Position in One Org Unit

Dear Minal,
Use T-code-OOZR create an entry with the combination
O-1001-B012-S-0, so that you can restrict 1position as chief of the org unit. In case you want to change the chief then, select another position of the unit and create chief position, automatically earlier position's chief relationship record is deleted.

Chief position for User

Hi Experts,
I am getting error in SWI2_DIAG transaction , There is no chief position for User,
But i checked the organisational structure under User path, already Manager is there & this Manager is flagged as Head of organisational unit, so manager becomes chief in position.
