Distinguish between manually entered file and file uploaded by conversion

Hi ,
I am involved in a conversion wherein i have the requirement to get those file uploaded form front end.
Is there any distinguishing column to know as to whether the file loaded in fnd_lobs or fnd_documents_tl are from front end or through conversion.
Please let me know if any of you have a solution to it?
Thanks and Regards,
Amar Deep Gautam

You can consider using the upload_Date column.
OR
You can consider a naming convention for the file name (such as CONV_PO_TERMS.dat).

  • File Upload/Character conversion

    Hi,
I have a Servlet which processes a File Upload. The uploaded file is accessable via an
InputStream. Now, if the file contains any non-ASCII character (e.g. German Umlaute)
    these characters are messed up.
I've been digging on Google to find a way to convert the characters provided by an
InputStream. The solution I have in mind would take the InputStream which I already
have and provide a different InputStream which hast the converted characters. How could
I implement such a solution? What is the recommended way to perform such a conversion.
    Many thannks in advance,
    Meme

When converting a binary stream to a character stream (using InputStreamReader and so on), you should be specifying the correct charset. With the charset the code knows how to translate the bytes into the correct chars. Otherwise the system's default charset will be used. In Windows systems it is generally cp-1252. The InputStreamReader provides this option in the constructor. You should specify the same charset as the file is encoded in. Try it with UTF-8.

  • Distinguish between 1.4.2_03 and 1.4.2_06

Hi there, I was wondering if anyone could provide some advice:
Our webstart app works fine on 1.4.2_03, but throws a CORBA marshalling error on 1.4.2_06. The class it fails to marshall is a MutableTreeNode, so it appears this class is incompatible between the JRE used on the server and the JRE used on the client.
To prevent this, I was hoping there was some way to distinguish between the 2 JREs. From my understanding of the JNLP spec, I can have something like:
<j2se version="1.4.2_03" href="localURL"/>But this would mean the localURL gets called each time, and a JRE repeatedly installed. Another idea I had was to create a small Main Proxy class that each JNLP invokes first, which would check the JRE version, then pass over to the real application.
    Any other ideas? Thanks, Neil

    hi neil..
    this might help u..
<j2se version="1.4+"/>Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately I've already tried this :-(

  • Connection between data entered DSWP and SOLAR01

    Hi,
    we are currently slightly confused:
What is the connection between data entered in DSWP and SOLAR01?
I found out the data you are maintaining in SOLAR01 transaction do not show in DSWP but the data maintained in DSWP do show in SOLAR01.
Which transaction are we supposed to use and what makes it nescessary that the other transaction exists?
Probably a newby question and an answer would help a lot.
    Marvin

    Hi Marvin,
DSWP is one of the main t-codes for configurations whereas SOLAR01 is used to do blueprinting for "Implementation and Upgrade" scenarios.
DSWP includes Solution Monitoring, viewing of all service desk tickets, Change Request Management, maintenance optimizer (used for download of Support Packages from SAP OSS).
No configurations are done in SOLAR01. As mentioned above, SOLAR01 is used only to perform blueprinting.
I hope I have answered your doubts.

  • How do I connect without having to manually enter PW and ID?

Until I "upgraded" FF, this time to 22, I have been able to click on my desktop button and FF has loaded WITHOUT ASKING FOR MY MEMBER NAME AND PW. Now it seems like I have to enter both almost every time I change tabs, etc., and the Keep me Signed ON button, doesn't. I am rapidly learning how Google Chrome works, but I want FF to work like it used to; if it doesn't I will make the switch. I assume there's some cookie function that's changed, or something; the folks I've talked to don't have this problem . . . I haven't changed anything else on my computer that I am aware of.
I run Win XP Pro on a 1992 Dell desktop. I have Norton, Iolo, and Tweak, as well as several things like "Defender". I haven't changed a single setting, intentionally.

  • How can I make Siri distinguish between calendar appointments (busy) and calendar events (free)?

When I ask Siri "How does my day look tomorrow?" she tells me every appointment (busy) and task (free) I have scheduled. I'm trying to find a way to let her know that I'm only interested in seeing what appointments (busy) I have that day.
Has anyone found a way to do this? I'm using iCloud calendars on all my devices.
I've already used iCloud calendars to designate each individual event as either "free" or "busy," but she continues to display all calendar events when I ask for an overview of my day. I've tried to do this from my iPhone, Macbook, and iCloud website.
Moving my tasks to my "Reminders" app won't help, because I need to be able to schedule time to work on specific tasks and also put important deadlines into my calendar. At the same time, when I ask Siri, "How does my day look," I am only interested in knowing what appointments I have that day.
I've also tried asking specifically "What meetings do I have in my [work/personal/family etc. calendar]" but that doesn't work either.
I've also tried asking "Can you show me when I'm busy today" and "Can you show me todays's appointments."
It may be that Siri doesn't have this capability yet, but it would be nice to know if its in the works or if it exists.

  • Difference between Export as Quicktime and Export as Quicktime Conversion

If the desired end result is a Quicktime file, compressed with the default h.264 "for broadband" preset, should there be any difference between:
    1) exporting a sequence with "Export as Quicktime", then opening up that file in Quicktime Pro and compressing it with the preset.
    or
    2) exporting the sequence with "Export as Quicktime conversion" with the preset.
I had expected these to be equivalent, but I've found that method #2 gives me dramatically sharper text in titles. Can anyone explain why? I'm using FCE 4.

Well I reckon it's because you are crunching numbers twice, in #2 it's once.

  • HOW-TO Distinguish between file exported from Datapump and normal export

How to distinguish between the dmp file export from the data pump utility and the export utility in Oracle 10g and 11g .

Like Werner suggested, it's never hurt to try anyway.
use imp with SHOW=Y, if it works then Original otherwise Data pump.
Once you determined one file, there's good chance that the rest are same. I don't think previous DBA will go through the trouble by mixing data pump and traditional exp/imp.

  • BPC delta flat file upload possible?

    Hi experts,
Ive been trying to find an answer of whether or not it is possible to retain member data on manual flat file upload into a dimension. We have created a dimension (employee) and have created some dummy nodes member data and would like to determine if it is possible to then keep this manual member data while manually loading further member data through flat file load. Is this sort of manual flatfile delta load possible? If so how? What is best practice here?
Also, is it possible to load data into a dimension using two methods IE manual upload file and then another form (IE BW load) without overwriting data? Im assuming this is where the merge data option comes in to play.
Any guidance would be much appreciated.
    Regards,
    Danielle

    Hi Danielle,
While uploading data, if you have added dimension members manually, then, it never gets deleted untill and unless you specify for it.
In your scenario, you have created dummy members and want to upload data thru flat file. Then, the data will be uploaded only for those members for which you want to upload data, rest of the members will display the old data.
As you rightly said earlier, while running data manager package, you need to select MERGE option instead of REPLACE & CLEAR data values. This keeps the old data intact and adds the new ones as well.
    Hope this clarifies further.

  • A way to distinguish between 'Parent' keys and 'Referential' keys

    Hi,
We use referencial keys to specify the FK to a parent table and also link to other tables... I need to write a script that needs to distinguish between a 'Parent' key and and a 'Referential' keys. In the database they both look the same, as they are both foreign keys...
What's the easiest way to determine whether a FK is a link to a parent table or a link to an unrelated table..
I hope this question makes sense...
    EDIT:
Here's an example of the tables, and a better explanation
    CREATE TABLE PARENT_TABLE(
    par_id number PRIMARY key,
    par_name varchar2(200)
    create TABLE RELATED_TABLE(
    rel_id number PRIMARY key,
    rel_name varchar2(200)
    create TABLE CHILD_TABLE(
    kid_id PRIMARY key,
    kid_name varchar2(200),
    par_id,
    rel_id,
    CONSTRAINT kid_par_fk FOREIGN KEY(par_id) REFERENCES PARENT_TABLE(par_id),
    CONSTRAINT kid_rel_fk FOREIGN KEY (rel_id) REFERENCES RELATED_TABLE(rel_id)
)Ok, as you can see the child table has 2 references but no way to tell which one is the parent table.. In our database we have this hirearchy of parent-child tables (where it's one-to-many relationships) where we consider a table a parent of other.. And also we have a ton of other foreign keys that link to related tables (many-to-many) relationships...
Now i need a clean way of distinguishing between PARENT and RELATED table.. A more elegegant solution to a keeping a hierarchy table of parent, child tables.. I'm sure others have this kind of structure..
let me know if there is more clarification needed.. Sorry for the confusion..

It's only your own business rules and usage that make one of the FK relationships to a "parent" while the other is to .. what, an "uncle"? ;-) Oracle has no way of knowing what your business rules and usage are.

  • Check concordance between the package database and the filesystem

Hello, I'd like to write this down :
To list the packages installed in the database, I use
    pacman -Qsq
-Q because it's a query on the local database, s to search and q for quiet.
If you would like to list the files installed by pacman on your computer, you would do
    pacman -Qqs | xargs pacman -Ql | cut -f2 -d' '
and if you would to count them you could write
    pacman -Qqs|xargs pacman -Ql|wc -l
If you'd want to know if the files actually exist, and reporting for errors, you could run
    for a_package in $(pacman -Qqs) ; do
    for a_file in $( pacman -Ql ${a_package}|cut -d' ' -f2 ) ; do
    if [ ! -e ${a_file} ]; then
    echo package ${a_package} is broken: file ${a_file} is missing. ;
    # use the following if you would wish to remove the broken package.
    # sudo pacman -R ${a_package} ;
    # break
    fi ;
    done ;
    done
The if test does check if the file, whatever its kind (folder, symbolic link, etc), does actually exist on your computer, and report a problem if the file is missing. In a generality purpose, I used test -e. You could look at the test manpage, to look for more elaborate examples. You can imagine report what kind of file is missing, or run a check of the permissions and owner which file has in the file system.
So, I use this because I recently messed up my system with AUR build that came along with the database, but was hard to debug. I don't know how to distinguish between an AUR package and an official package, so this solution came out to clean my database.
I hope I could post more code snippets here if you find it useful. See you.

yes. It does the job as well. Just a question: can you use the output of this command to remove the packages which are broken ?
EDIT: actually pacman -Qqk gives the name of broken packages. My apologies.

  • Difference between Export QT and Export Using QT Conversion?

I am exporting video from FCE4 into iDVD, and can't understand the difference between Export QuickTime Movie and Export Using QuickTime Conversion.
The first is much faster, but the video seems to suffer in quality. Am I missing something?
    Thanks!

"Export Using QuickTime Conversion" gives you many more options
(and many more ways of making mistakes); and it always recompresses.
Using "Export QuickTime Movie" gives you the option to uncheck
the "Recompress" box, which should produce a better result,
    if you're not changing codecs.

    Hi Paul,
I think the matter is not the extention (xls or csv or whatever) but the format of the data written in your file.
To see what I mean, open the xls file you posted with notepad... What does it look like ?
You have tobe sure of the format of the file you want to read so that you can develop an appropriate VI... if you want to be able to read different type of data format, do a test before reading the file and then use an appropriate routine for each format.
    Hope this helps you...
BTW, to read the one named CSV, a simple "read from spreadsheet file" VI will do the job
