Distorted and disarrayed images after uploading edited page

I had two text boxes with hyperlinks not functioning properly (in Safari, though not in iWeb), so I tried a few methods to fix the problem, none of which have resulted in success. I've deleted the malfunctioning boxes and copied and pasted from other pages. I've deleted them and copied and pasted from within the page, changing the text and linkage to suit. I've deleted them and recreated brand new boxes. I've selected all objects and deleted them and tried to copy and paste them peice meal. When I publish to a folder, and view from my computer, the new pages show distorted sizes, text, and have deleted boxes in other locations. It seems like the png numbers are assigned "out of order" between the html file and the reference folder. I then tried to bring the original file off of my live server and replace the bum file in my published folder on the computer. I'm now realizing that iWeb does not use the published folder during editing.
1) Why is this happening?
2) How do I get it back? (can I import file information back into iWeb rather than into the published folder?)
I notice that someone else had the hyperlink issue on the latest version of iWeb, so it doesn't seem like an upgrade is necessary/would fix the problem.

Distorted type and wrong images when uploading

I have built my whole site in iWeb, and didn't seem to have any issues. I made some minor changes to it today, and when checking it online after the upload, all the fonts seem distorted and wrong, some images show up completely different than what they are suppose to be, and the whole thing looks like a hot mess.
ANY IDEAS WHY???

Blank page shown after clicking "Edit Page" in Contribute CS3

I set up a site in Dreamweaver CS3 and am trying to configure Contribute to enable users to edit the content. After setting up the site in Contribute, I browse to any page, click the "Edit Page" button and all I see is the background color of the web page and a large blinking cursor in the upper left corner of the screen; the content of the page is nowehere to be found. I have attached an image showing what I see after I click "Edit Page".
The site navigates and renders just fine inside of Contribute, but I am unable to Edit pages.
Is this an issue that someone has seen before? Is there perhaps something in the HTML that is preventing the page from being rendered correctly in Edit mode?

I discovered the problem with the site.
In the template there was an EditableRegion defined around the <body> opening tag:

<body id="research">

Once I replaced this with a TemplateParam for the id attribute of the body tag everything worked just fine.

Black thumbnails and negative images after import

I'm experiencing a problem with iPhoto 6 and some images importing with black thumbnails and negative main images.
I've tried replacing the sRGB Profile.icc (it wasn't missing for me), but that didn't work.
Any suggestions?

Are those negative images B/W photos? If so they may be Grayscale mode. Download the "Embed sRGB Profile" Automator application form Toad's Cellar and drop the original files for those photos onto it. If it's a grayscale mode file it will correct the situation. iPhoto 6 does not play well with Grayscale images.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. Image after upload not available (Apache Tomcat)

I'm using file upload from Apache MyFaces to upload images. The upload works perfectly. But when I try to show the image on a webpage right after uploading, the file is not found. I know that the link is correct and the file exists. Somehow my Tomcat server doesn't realize that there is a new file to index. When I restart the server, everything works and the image is shown.
Can you help me? I think I have to tell the server that there is a new file or something like this...

Muse bug, text and objects shifting after upload

Muse: when I add a text box with linked text to an existing page, the text box shifts and other elements on the page shift around randomly on the page after uploading. It looks fine when it opens in safari after uploading but not when opened in a fresh browser.

I am not able to print pdf file from coursesmart website. i disabled flash plugin and only images are on the pages. When i preview, i only see blank page...help

Doesn't work in Google Chrome either.
Looks that the page has a lot of protection measures (context menu is disabled) and DIVs that overlay each other, so it is possible that the print routine only sees an empty DIV and not the image or the real page.<br />
That big image consists of two parts as you can see via Tools > Page Info > Media and the inspector.

Retaining rating for images after PS edit

In LR2, I could rate my images in LR, edit in PS and once done, they reappeared in LR, complete with the rating of the original image. In LR3, once edited and returned to LR, they lose their rating. I find this very frustrating as I have to undo the rating filter, find the edited copy of the image, then reapply the filter. Such a waste of time! I like to filter a shoot and only look at the images I will be working on and I expect the edited version to retain it's star rating.
I hope I have been clear enough. Has anyone struck this issue and more importantly, do they have a fix for it. Interestingly, I had the beta version of LR3 and I didn't have this problem. Trialling LR3 now.
I love some of the features of LR3, but will be returning to LR2 if I can't fix this issue.

Importing note and warning images (assigned via reference pages)

I am importing a document that contains warning and note images that are assigned to certein paragraph styles via the reference pages. Naturally these do not convert using the standard settings.
My first attempt was to assign numbering settings to these paragraphs before importing and to use the 'convert to HTML list' setting. Then I tried to assign image styles to the generated lists in the CSS using list-style: url("image_for_warning.jpg");
If I assing this to the paragraph styles (p.something) then it works in preview, but most browsers dont support it.
The problem: Robohelp generates an awfull mess when converting lists to HTML.
When I use an ordered numbering setting in FM, then Robohelp creates this:

When I use an unordered numbering setting in FM (using characters as bullets), Robohelp generates this:
<ul type="disc">
<li><p class="warning">..
I never get a clean HTML list with a specific style assigned to the UL. Any ideas to this?

Hi Robert,
I agree with you that RH doesn't provide an easy way to format the lists as you like, but it doesn't have much to do with FrameMaker.
The HTML that you're creating is good, it's the CSS that needs to be tweaked. I had the privelege of access to a true CSS expert at a previous job; he got my lists to work properly.
I realized 2 things while watching him solve the problem:
Because of browser and version issues, CSS is a real headache. He would sometimes use 3 or 4 different CSS options for the same formatting value, and most of this was simply arcane knowledge of allowable CSS attributes and allowable CSS values.
Money spent to address these issues is well-spent
It would be nice if Adobe were able to develop this feature for HTML lists within Robohelp, but from what I've seen, their RH Lists option is the closest you can expect to see.

Burned CD is distorted and stops playing after a few seconds

I burned a cd in the usual manner with itunes, but the cd is distorted and stops playing in the cd player. I have burned dozens of cds in the past with no problem. Is this caused by the recent update?

Try a different brand of cd; I recently had this happen. It freaked me out at first, but after switching brands it never happened again.

Will bookmarks, highlights and notes disappear after "personal" editing?

I have to read many .epub classical books (almost all public domain) on iBook. Those books are not necessarily from iBookStore. I make highlights, notes, etc.
My situation is that the formats/styles and typos of those classical .epub make me extremely uncomfortable.
So I am planning to edit those errors whenever I find them on my Mac.
Here is the workflow:
Read on iBook ——> highlights ——> see errors ——> export .epub to editing tools on Mac ——> edit ——> export to iBook ——> read
My only question is will all my bookmarks, highlights and notes disappear when I edit the epub?
Does anyone know where/how iBook records/store the highlights and bookmarks? In .plist or something else? Since If I know where all my annotations are, I couse easily preserve them when I am editing the epub.
This is a very very big problem of mine. Please help me.

Connect iPad with iTunes Mac and copy the book to Mac. Then import it into Sigil (an open-source epub editor) http://code.google.com/p/sigil/.
In Sigil, edit whatever part I need. Then export to iTunes again and sync with iPad connected.
After this, the book no longer belong to the iCloud, but treated as ordinary epub imported into iPad.

Blank page after clicking Edit Page

Have just created a new Contribute connection to a new
website, without any problem. The webpage appears in the Contribute
window, but when I click 'edit page', the window goes blank. Does
anyone have any idea what this could be causing this?

Hi CoopCookie,
You have a couple of errors in your table structure (f.i. an
extra td tag in the class="dataTable" table and the main table is
closed twice from what I could see quickly). I mean there are tags
in the wrong places in your table structure. When you correct this
your page should display fine fine, even in Contribute. Browsers
are more forgiving to errors then Contribute, so that's why the
page probably looks fine on the internet.

Displaying multiple images after uploading

Hi I am trying to create a site where I can upload multiple photos at once and have them be displayed on the master detail page
I have been following the tutorial on creating an image gallery and it is good.......
I have also found out about using the master detail function which is really really great, just what i was looking for.
So I can create my upload form with file upload and creat a list page which displays some of the data and a thumb and I can link one of the fields to the master detail page all good...... Now......
I would like more than one picture on the detail page.......
with say one main pic and about five other thumbs ( which can be linked to full size images) I would like this to all be done dynamically
So how do I do this?
Do I need to put multiple file upload fields in my upload form?
I am getting confused........
Any help would be really really nice

You can use the Dynamic List/Dynamic Form to get the uploads working as you wish. Dynamic lists can call a multiple insert transaction on dynamic forms. You then set one of the form fields to be file type and apply the upload behaviour to it. At the end you can call as many instances of the form from the dynamic list and upload all the images at once saving their informations to a db table at the same time

For this you need 2 recorsets: one for the main picture filtered by image_id (when you click the thumbnail you send the id as a url variable) and another for the thumbs (not filtered);
Use the Show Thumbnail server behaviour to create the thumbs and a Looper Wizard to loop through the records and show more than 1 thumb.

Lr - flash gallery stuck at "loading images" after uploading to website

I have created various flash slideshows which run fine from my pc through IE. But when I upload to my site the gallery loads up but is always stuck at "loading images" ?
At first I thought it was my image file sizes but have reduce them to under 100k each.
I'm stumped!
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated?

I suggest you use an Ftp client to see if the files are actually on the server. You can even look by going to the edit... for FTP Server in the Web Panel of LR and hit browse to see if they are there, asuming you have set up the FTP properly in LR.
