Distorted pictures in webpages

This problem has been plaguing me for some time now. Running the latest version of Firefox and plug-ins. This is what I see on websites.
http://img62.imageshack.us/img62/9679/wtfsd.jpg Not all pictures look that way, it's hit and miss.
After doing a lot of research, I've found out that it's the shockwave flash plug-in causing the problem. If I disable it, everything looks fine. I completely removed flash/plug-in and reinstalled, same problem. BTW, text looks fine... no problem there. Pages look fine in IE but the same messed up pictures are in Chrome.
TIA

You can check for problems with current Flash plugin versions and try these:
*disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin
*http://kb.mozillazine.org/Flash#Troubleshooting
*http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html
Flash "Display settings" window:
Try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.
*Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"

Bug in CS3! When I tilt-crop a picture, the result is a distorted picture, why is that!? The pictuer gets squezed togeher and faces look markably thinner.

    Hi again,
CS3 is a wonderful program. But behaves strange some times.
As it is now I first need to rotate the picture "ctrl+T" before the croping occure to get the portions right. I thought that if I, can, rotate the crop tool it, should, be possible to do this operation in one step. But not. Or? Okej, the operation may work in one step, but the result is horrible. What am I doing wrong?
    Thanks for a quick reply!

    Thanks,

Not a problem; not scolding, just suggesting that users there might be of more help, since CS5/CS5.5 is a whole different animal than CS4.
I suspect that, if setting playback to full resolution didn't help, there's not much you can do with these files as they are. You'll have to convert them to something else. Does the break up appear when you step through the video frame by frame? If not, you could use AME to convert these to something else, which will then let you edit a little more effectively in Premiere Pro.
EDIT: Sorry, missed that you said that exporting retained the blobs. In light of that, you'll have to look at a third-party converter to flip these. MPEG Streamclip for Windows might work.

Nikon say that you need 10.6.5+ for the latest firmware, although I don't see why.
Thanks for that! I was looking for that manual, but for some reason, couldn't find it.
I guess I'll have to contact Nikon and find out what the real story is. The camera was introduced in '08 or '09, so I'm wondering why you'd need software as recent as 10.6.5??
    Still very confusing.  :-?
Why does it state that the camera is compatible with "10.4.11, 10.5.8..."? Does that mean that anything between 4.11 and 5.8 is incompatible???
BTW, I tried downloading the 10.5.8 combo update recently and got an error message that the update was "corrupted" after it was all downloaded, so I was not able to install that.

  • Is it possible to straighten out a slightly wavy or distorted picture?

Most image editing software has ways of rotating and resizing pictures, but does photoshop Elements 8 have the ability to straighten out a wavy or distorted picture. I have a exaggerated example below of what I mean. The real problem is I need to straighten out a large scanned logo picture I got off a shirt that is not perfectly straight (You know, because a cotton shirt is not solid). One side is longer,  several angles are not square, and parts are wavy and not straight. Is there any way to fix this??

I can't say how good the result would be but you could try using the liquefy filter. If the shirt is really bunched up, you'll probably end up with some stretching. You may have to copy over some good shirt material to cover any stretching that occurs.
You might also look at the transform tool...particularly distort.
If neither of these work, you might try downloading a trial of Photoshop (assuming you haven't in the past) and try using it's transform tool that includes warp. (It's grid looks much like your illustration.)

  • Cant Distort Pictures

    CS3
Using the Free Transform tool Im trying to distort pictures for special effects.
When I click and drag a corner, it moves fine, but as soon as I let go the
mouse, the corner flips right back.
    Help please. Thanks.

Free transform is for vector objects not "pictures."
    Use an Envelope.

    Yes.

  • IPad distorted pictures // iPhoto 11 landscape - exclamation

    very strange
Perhaps I have 2 problems, or the one is related to the other:
1.) on my iPad 1 the pictures / photos in thumbnail view (the batch) are distorted. When I view them in full size mode, they are correct.
On my iPhone 4 the are ok.
I sync with my all new MacBook Pro with iTunes. I use iPhoto for managing the photos.
2.) because of 1), I checked the photos in iPhoto and saw, that many pictures in landscape mode, taken with my wife's iPhone 4, cannot be displayed in full size mode. I get an exclamation mark. Uff? I lost my wife's pictures :-0  In thumbnail in iPhoto they are ok. In full view I get the exclamation. In Dia-Show it is just black.
    Now my setup.
I have setup iPhoto as a shared library as described in the support community by 'Terence Devlin' (many times, Easy way to share iPhoto library). I quit iPhoto, I move the library to /Users/myself/Public. Then I opened the library by each user account to set it as the default library. To sync with iTunes, I also had to change the ownership to read/write for all users (for every file and directory). Otherwise iTunes reported an error.
Now fancy. When I log in with my wife's account, all the pictures in iPhoto are ok. Uff, the photos are not lost ;-)  When i quit iPhoto and log in as myself, the landscape pictures show an exclamation in full size.
In the terminal, i check again the permissions.
The library is owned by myself. The iPod Photo Cache is owned by my wife (I had to remove/rebuild it when I had some other troubles). All files and directories have rw(x) for owner, group and others. (I know, it is a bit risky, to give rw for others. But I know the mac and it's users. Or should I change some ownership?)
    So I need some help.
I'm new on mac. Used windows before.

I've tried over and found a solution:
reset the permissions on the iphoto library file and its package contents
    1. i did this by using Finder to open the "Get Info" dialog box on the iPhoto library file
    2. myself, satff and everyone had read/write access (as previously checked in the terminal). I changed everyone (other) to only have read access. Had to wait a few seconds and then picked 'undo changes' from the gear icon.
    3. guess what, I was able to see all the pictures correctly ;-)
And ?? it solved also my problem #1 with the cropped images.
    really strange

  • Itunes sound distorted when loading webpages

    Hi,
I recently got a new laptop (like a week ago) and installed iTunes 9. This worked fine at first, but starting yesterday the sound gets distorted half the time I load webpages or open applications.
I've had this before on older computers, and assumed it was because of their limited technical capabilities. I don't think that's the case here, though.
Does anyone have any idea where the problem could be situated? Or might it be technical after all?
    Thanks in advance!
    Greetings,
    Steven

Sounds like your audio midi settings are not being stored properly.
I'd try deleting com.apple.audio.AudioMIDISetup.plist and resetting
    audio midi.
As you know, iTunes only reads the audio midi settings when it starts
up, so I'd do that with itunes not running.

  • Images distorted on exported webpages

Anyone seen this? Some images exported from a 'Create Web Page' gallery appear distorted, like the jpg export from the RAW (NEF from D70s; RAW Converter 2.0) original has not resized correctly, so the resulting jpgs are stretched or squashed and only part of the image is exported. Displays OK in the Web Gallery, only affects the exported jpgs. Doesn't happen to all images, but does happen consistently to those affected. Affects both the 'large' image and its corresponding thumbnail.

I experienced this for the first time last night with several D200 NEF's. Some of them were very distorted when exported as jpg's. I couldn't get A2 to recreate this consistently though. I was exporting a series of pictures and I each time I'd re-export them, the results were different. I had just loaded the images into my Library and touched several of them up? After restarting A2 and trying again, everything seems to be working fine. I know for a fact it isn't preview re-lated in my case since I have all previews turned off. It could be a thumbnail issue maybe?

  • Problem with distorted pictures in Adobe Muse

Sometimes when I upload changes to my muse website, it distorts some of the images (in galleries or not). When I re upload new changes without touching to the distorted images, sometimes it solves the problem but not everytime... What do I do wrong ? Are my pictures too heavy ?
    Thanks for the help !

I am also having issues that remind me of the IWEB days where you design the page get it looking good then when you preview it or publish it everything changes goes to hell and a hand basket - text off the grid artwork slid across the page etc -
any tips would be much appreciated
    thanks

  • Distorted picture odd colors - What is my problem?

    QT 7.0.4
In viewing some movies that have the extension .wmv it is like viewing cable channels I don't subscribe to. The picture is distorted and the colors are all wrong. The sound is ok.
    I have installed Flip4Mac.
Are there particular preferences I need to set?
    Thanks.

Sorry. You get what you pay to get.
Many WMP formats and files are poorly encoded (or worse, illegal copies of copy right protected work).
    Some tips:
Don't try to enlarge the viewer. This only introduces artifacts and makes viewing even worse than it was at normal playback size.
If you're trying to view HD content pick the smallest dimension size offered. Larger dimensions may require more "oomph" than your machine can handle.
The new agreement from Microsoft and Flip4Mac (and the end of WMP on Mac's) may improve over the years.
All is new again and everyone has to learn new tricks.

  • 30HF85C Rear Projection Hd tv with warped/distorted picture

I have a 10 year old hd rear projection tv that has a distorted/warped picture. a solid black bar accross the bottom covering about 1/4 of the screen and the picture is being stretched near the top and squished at the bottom above that black bar. I posted a video on youtube to get a better idea of what I'm dealing with. Any advice would be very grateful. https://youtu.be/PKARcOTDKtE

HDMI carries both sound and video, while DVI only carries video. You'd need something that converts from HDMI to DVI plus an audio cable. Perhaps something like this. Please note that I'm not endorsing this specific product. I've never used such an adapter, so I don't know how well they work.

  • When I email pictures they arrive as distorted pictures the receiver and see or manipulate.  How I send so it arrives as a JPEG attachment?

When I email pictures from iphoto they arrive as small distorted images the receiver can't see or manipulate.  How do I simply send as a JPeg they can open? Right clicking and selecting "view as icon" doesn't work.

When you create the email go to the menu at the bottom of the Mail email window and select Actual Size to make sure the correct file is being sent.
