Distorted sound with more bass equalizer preset

Hello,
My Problem is that my iphone has either no bass or too much. If i activate the equaizer preset more bass - it sounds like completely distorted (but not with all songs). If i turn it off the sound is weak and just not "nice". I testet the same tracks wich i downloaded from the music store with the same earphones - sennheiser mx 55 with my macbook and my ipod - it was much much better. So the haedphones are okay - it has to do with the iphone. Can u please help me - and please don´t tell me to not use the equalizer - this is no option because it sounds lame like... If there is no way to solve this problem i will try to return the music ibought and maybe use a different player from the appstore?? Greetings from germany. Simon p.s. i think this is a huge quality issue wich apple isnt able to solve right now.

i wish it would be this easy but - i only have downloaded music from the itunes store on my iphone - not much but completely downloaded from the itunes store. I found out that these songs have different "sound" one is clear and the other is very dark with much bass. But if i transfer them to my ipod they are much better and not distorted. What can i do with my iphone to get this probelm solved or what can i do to give the music back?

Once you get straightened out consider backing up via a bootable clone. It can solve a lot of problems.

  • HP EliteBook 8730w sound with no Bass

    Hi Guys
My laptop is only 3 weeks old, I have had Windows Vista removed and Windowx XP installed for work purposes.
Originally music on the laptop speakers and headphones was scratchy, so I has the speakers and sound card replaced.
This has removed the scratchy sound, but the music is still flat, with no bass what-so-ever.
Guys in my office has the same HP laptop and theirs work fine.
    What am I missing?

    Hi Support,
    Lack of Bass
Laptop is barely three weeks old. Love it to bits but compared to my previous Lenovo, the lack of bass drives me crazy. I am a programmer and I write code with my earbud glued on.
    Speakers vrs Headphones
Noticed that sometimes with the earbuds plugged into the headphone jack sound still came outta the speakers. Going into Control Panel, the ff dialog confirms my suspicions that there is a problem. I have my earbuds plugged in but judging from the active sound meter, to the system, it's the speaker playing and NOT the headphone.
    Slight Improvement
Clicking on the Speaker and then on Configure I managed to improve the bass a bit by tweaking the ff:
    Conclusion
Sound plays alright but the bass response and dynamic range suffer? Basically for us Bassoholics, it simply aint good enough.
Are there any workarounds anywhere or software out there that might improve the bass response and overall frequency range?

  • Distorted sound with ITrigue L3800

I work when customer support is open, so hopefully the forums can help.
I have a Dell XPS 40 with Windows Media Center. I just bought the ITrigue L3800, but the sound is very distorted. When I plug headphones into the computer, the sound is fine. Has anyone had this problem before and have suggestions?
    Thanks,
    John

    John,
The best thing you can do is to test the speaker on another audio source. If the same thing is happening to the speaker. You can be quite sure that it's faulty and best to get an exchange either from the vendor or Customer Support.

  • Distorted Sound with 6735S

    Hi,
I have a 6735S and recently the sound has gone distorted and crackly when listening to music, watchin dvdx... even the start up tune! I ve tried headphones and speakers, still the same problem persists. I ve gone through the FAQ on the HP site, and downloaded what it recommends but this hasnt helped.
I m not overly good with the technical jargon, so if anyone can help please reply!
    Cheers, Tom

    tell application "Finder"
    quit
    end tell
    delay 1
    tell application "Finder"
    run
    end tell
Don't press the Run button until instructed. Next, open the /Library/Preferences/ item of your home folder, and move the item com.apple.finder.plist to the desktop. Once this file has been moved, run the script, and then use the audio preview option again. If the sound is still distorted, move half of the plist files to the desktop, run the script again, and repeat the procedure until the item causing the problem is found. If nothing in the /Library/Preferences/ folder is causing the issue, continue with the other items in the home folder except for the desktop itself. If you determine that an item isn't causing the problem, you can put it back where it originally was.

  • Urgent Help! DVD distorted sound with Creative 5.1 External

    Hi there
new to this board, i recently purchased the Creative Soundblaster Li've! 24bit 5. External Card and am having difficulties playing a DVD. Whatever program I use, i get some serious distorted 'hiss' sound throughout the movie. Any DVD does this. and its only DVDs, other movie and audio files are fine. If i disconnect the external card and just use my original on-bard card, it works fine too.
Any idea how to fix this?
    Thanks

    ishiiyuto,
As I understand it, the USB port doesn't have enough badwidth to handle DVDs with AC3 sound. See the post by Jeremy-CL here.

  • Distorted sound with audio preview

    Hi,
I have a problem with the Finder file preview. As for sound files, one can usually listen to songs within the file preview, without opening an application. But since recently, the sound of this function is very loud and distorted. I had been running two such previews at the same time and suddenly the sound turned to this.
Since then it has stayed this bad. I tried the usual means: restart, clear user caches, repair file permissions, p-ram reset ... nothing of this helped.
The funny thing is: All other audio stuff works fine. I can listen to iTunes, use QuickTime - everything is fine. But as soon as I try to listen via the Finder preview, the sound is terrifying.
Does anyone know any help to this, please?
    Many thanks in advance!

  • N85 - distorted sound with voice calls

    Hi, anyone had this problem.
The sound [on a normal voice call] is very distorted. From the handset speaker [NOT the loudspeaker]
A week ago, i did drop the phone from my top pocket while crouching on the ground. It didn't even get a scratch on it, so I assumed it was not damaged from such a small fall.
Is it possible that it's damaged the speaker/wiring/ etc:??
    thanks,
    BlueFlame

it is confirmed that the motherboard has shorted-out.
Reasons how this could have happened:-
plugging the iphone into a self-powered speaker system with the headphone jack (not dock connector)Power Surge !
living in a high-humidity country (causes mineral build-up & moisture ... bla bla bla)
Q : Why everything else works but the sound crackles?
    A : Its an X-File
    What to do now ?
Trade-in or get a new phone - either way, wallet will hemorrhage money.

  • Distorted Subwoofer Sound from Heavy Bass - Gigaworks S700

When I first got this speaker system, the subwoofer worked great. After awhile of some heavy bass from rap music, the subwoofer got this distorted sound. I sent it in for repairs and when they sent it back it worked good for a little while. After some more heavy bass the distorted sound came back again. I call it a "ripple effect" that occurs. It's okay with a little bass, but if I put in some rap music with heavier bass, it gets really annoying with that "rippling" sound. The bass is much weaker than it is supposed to be. I already sent it in once, and I figure sending it in again will just be a waste of time. It would be nice to just get a replacement, even if I have to pay for the sub seperately. Even that wouldn't guarantee it would work, because maybe Creative's subs are just not that good for heavy bass.
My subwoofer has been like this for several months now, but I haven't done anything about it because I figure it will be a waste of time. I figure I just buy another speaker system from somebody else in the future, but today I decided to post this here. Anybody else have a similar issue with the subwoofer? Maybe I could ask Creative for a replacement sub, but I don't know if they'll do that. When I first contacted them about it, I wanted to know if I could just get a replacement (free or at a cost) because I didn't want to wait a few weeks to listen to music, but they ignored that part of my email and sent me an RMA number and stuff anyways.

It sounds like you may be damaging your bass speaker. When you first got your speakers, at what volume did you play them at? What you need to do is start them at a lower volume and let the speakers play continuously for a few hours. You might notice the speakers get louder even though you didn't touch the volume control. Turn up the speakers a little bit and have them play for a few more hours. Keep repeating this until your speakers are playing slightly above your normal listening level. This is called "breaking in" the speakers. Whether or not this does anything can be up for debate, but I noticed that my MegaWorks 550 got louder and the subwoofer was pumping out cooler air after this procedure. If you play your speaker at a very high volume when you first get them, you are asking for trouble. Also, leaving speakers playing full blast for a while can damage them.
As for a replacement subwoofer, you'll have to contact Cambridge SoundWorks at www.hifi.com because they're the ones who actually make the GigaWorks and MegaWorks. The subwoofer for the MegaWorks 550 is the BassCube 82 (but without the internal 6ch. amp). I'm not sure about the GigaWorks.

  • Sound output has more bass than old model

    Hello
I've just purchased a new MAC PRO. I've noticed that the sound in the headphones has a lot more bass presence than the old model.
    Anyone else found this
In iTunes, eq is Flat or off. I can't find anything else that would changed the sound quality
    Thanks

"- 16-bit, 44.1Khz - the sound was not quite as "wide" as the 24 bit files, but the kick drum, bass guitar, and even the snare sounded markedly more full and punchy. The bass line could be heard un-interrupted pulsing at the bottom."
The "wide" is perfectly understandable since our perception of depth and width relies a lot on low-level ambient cues that could easily be lost in a 16-bit system vs a 24-bit system.
The other part is harder...just another man's theory here, but if we were to take this to extremes...say a 3-bit system: off, soft and loud.
It would be true then that anything over a certain input level threshhold would be assigned as a "loud" bit. Could that make certain characteristics and sounds appear more "punchy"? Obviously, there are 2 to the 16th power levels of resolution in a 16-bit byte, but I'm just wondering if this concept could affect the perception more so than with a 24-bit system.
Another factor to consider is that 12-bit systems would generally have more distortion in the analog section than a high-end 24-bit converter. Distortion can definitely affect the perception of both loudness and 'punchiness'. Remember, the signal goes through analog circuits before it hits the converter chip. That analog portion is pretty critical to how the system sounds.
That's why two a/d converters can use the same converter chips and even the same clocks, but still sound different.

  • Distorted / choppy recorded sound with Audigy 2 ZS and Vista 64-bit

Hi, I wonder if anybody has any idea of why this issue is happening. First let me give you my PC specs:
    CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 940 @ 3.0 GHz
    Mobo: Gigabyte GA-M57SLI-S4 rev. 2.0
    Graphics: 2 x BFG GeForce 8800 GT 52MB
    RAM: 4 x GB G.Skill PC6400 @ 800 MHz
Sound: Creative SB Audigy 2 ZS
TV Tuner:? Hauppauge WinTV PVC PCI II (26xxx)
OS: Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit SP
?So here's the deal. I have no problems whatsoever with audio playback with this sound card. The issue I am having is while recording sound with it. When I record my voice via a Microphone with the Windows Sound Recorder and then play it back, my voice sounds very choppy. It sounds as if I was talking in front of a fan. The same happens with any program I try to use. If I use Audacity to record sound, the playback is also distorted / choppy. The main problem is with Skype, as I cannot use it to talk to people because they cannot understand what I'm saying because of the issue. Does anybody has any ideas why this happens? My PC is a dual boot PC with Vista 64-bit and XP 32-bit, and this issue only happens with Vista. Sound recorded plays back fine under Windows XP.
I am using the latest drivers available for this card from the Creative site.
    I'd appreciate your help,
    Daniel

A little bit off topic here, but 64bit does not mean more performance at all lol.
Sure, but there are in some cases drastic performence diferences. Under a fresh installed Vista X64 i have less CPU usage, as under 32 bit. But of course X64 uses more RAM (some tasks are double 32 and 64 bit). But the main reason I have more performence is, that the games I often play, get almost a boost. Dont ask me why, but under 64 bit EAW and FOC have the same FPS as under 32 bit. But under X64 I use a bit more Details and a higher resolution. (both are 32 bit games, so its a bit funy )?______________________?Sure there are other ways to install the drivers. But if some Setup dosent work, the first thing I try is to get it via Divice Management. And as this worked for me, I dont waste time to try other methods (Had bad experience, you can break the driver faster than install it *G*)?______________________?Some Questions I have left (after a few hours undr X64 with Creative Drivers):?Could it be, that the driver causes sometimes havy CPU usage?Could it also be, that the driver causes some lags, after you copy a file (the end sound, copy is finihed, but takes more time for "final finish", than without the drivers) - I know that Vista has some problems, on some PCs with copy, and that MS has an inoficial Patch (but dosent help for my PC so far)

  • Earphone sound very low with low bass effect in Xperia ZR

I have recently bought a new Xperia ZR.I am surprised by very poor quality of sound from Sony in Earphones. When I checked with the dealer he was trying to convince me that the sound is proper.Sony is always well known for his audio quality and cameras...Can any1 please help if there is any way for it..I have tried all the methods in Equalised and downloaded many applications for sound booster but no use.

Sometimes even quality of the file being played makes a difference. However, to overcome the quality variation between tracks, you can enable Walkman App -> Settings -> Sound Enhancements -> Dynamic normalizer. You can also try combinations of Surround Sound (VPT) and the equalizer to get to a decent Bass. Alternatively, to make sure that it is not a problem with the Walkman App, try to use another music player like VLC or MX Player from the google play store. There is no issue in sound quality for me. You can also try to go to Settings -> Apps -> Downloaded Apps -> Walkman and Clear Cache & Data once to check.

  • Distorted sound on iMac with Windows 7

    Hi,
I've just upgraded from Windows Vista Ultimate to Windows 7 Home Premium.
Before the sound worked perfect, but now it is very distorted.
When I mute windows I can still hear sound - it is just a bit more distorted and at a bit lower volume.
I tried to upgrade the sound card driver from Realtek, but lost sound completely. I reinstalled the Apple driver and now I have distorted sound again.
I'm running Boot Camp 3.1 drivers.
Does any one know how to solve this problem?
    /Tejs

Can you find out which drivers you currently have for me please.
go to Start >> right click Computer >> System Properties >> System >> Device Manager
Now open up the sound, video and game controllers section and there should be something correlating to your sound driver here, if you could give me the name or the driver name if possible.
also what iMac model are you running.

  • Problems with Equalizer Presets in iTunes 8.0.1

I have equalizer presets on a lot of my songs and for some reason, in iTunes 8, when a song with an equalizer preset plays, it keeps that equalizer setting for songs that play afterwards that don't have presets. In other words, it doesn't set the equalizer back to "Flat" after it plays songs that have specific settings.
Anyone else suffering from this problem, or know how to fix it?
    Thanks,
    Tucker

I'm having the same issue on my Mac. So, I just chose very song in my library. Chose to see info and changed the option to set the equalizer to "none." This took awhile to apply to my 10,000+ songs. What this effectively did was to make all songs the same in regards to equalizer settings.
I then went back into my equalizer settings and chose the equalizer setting that I want 99% of the time for most songs. For me it is "Acoustic." So, this doesn't fix the problem since I can't now select special equalizer settings for specific songs. But at least it's not switching over to a less than desired setting for all songs.

  • Last wish, preset converting RAW into JPG with more contrast, saturation & sharpening

A close family member is dying and she has still many RAW files, which of course look slightly lifeless as all RAW files do. She asked me to look for a simple Lightroom preset which will convert her RAWs into Jpgs with more contrast, saturation and sharpening. She has Lightroom 3, but has no experience in making presets and neither do I. She needs the preset to make the RAW files as Jpgs available to her partner & children. No fancy effects; just simple. She cannot work on her computer anymore. Can you help me with a concrete preset or if not can you make one for her?
