Distribute CVI runtime engine without the installer ?

Customer wants to distribute CVI runtime engine with their application in VB.net.
They don't want 2 installer (one for VB.net, one for CVI).  They want to extract the files out of CVI installer, and included in VB installer.
Any one did this before?
For CVI 2013.
TIA.

I use CVI and deliver CVI dll to customer.
I don't create installer.
Customer don't want installer.
They use VB.net, they create their own installer.
And they don't want to call CVI Run Time Engine installer.  That's the problem.

  • How do I build an executable w/o installing the runtime engine in the OS?

    Hello everyone
I have developped an application with LabView 8.01 and build an executable for a customer, this works great, if I have administrator rights. But my customer don't have full administrator rights and they are not able to install the software (Runtime Engine). In LabView 6.0.1, to solve this problem we added the lvrt.dll and some support files directly to the application builder as support files and it worked without to install the runtime engine in the operating system.
How can this be done in LabView 8.0.1 and which files are needed?
I am thankfull for any advice.

    hi,
you always need admin rights to install software.
I think it's not possible in labVIEW 8.01 to install the runtime without admin rights.
The costumer only has to  the runtime one time, so he should try to contact his system administrator.
I've found no workaround for it.
    Best regards.

First of all, copy your most important files to an external drive, or make a backup of your files. Then, hold Command and R keys while your Mac is starting, open Disk Utility and erase Macintosh HD by choosing it in the Disk Utility's sidebar and going to Erase tab.
Finally, close Disk Utility and reinstall OS X

  • Need help resetting or changing my admin username and password without the installation disc

I accidentally clicked on the check box that is located in system preferences in accounts that says "Allow user to administer this computer" and unchecked it. So the account that I set up the user name and password to is not the administer anymore and I don't know what account is. So now every time I want to make changes to anything and click on the lock button it will not accept my username and password. So how do I reset my username and password for the administer without the installation disc and without losing any files or folders????

  • Any way to repair disks without the installation CD?

I have the latest version of snow leopard and haven't used my laptop in awhile because I needed to get repairs done on it. Finally repaired it at the apple store, took it home, ran the updates, but disk utility is saying my drive is corrupted and to repair it with the installation disk. I have been looking everywhere and only found the TechTool deluxe CD but can't find my actual installation disks.
Anyone know how I would go about repairing my disk ?
    Thank you in advance.

You need an installer disc or an external drive from which you can boot the computer. Otherwise you cn try:
    File System Maint. - fsck
Boot into single-user mode.  After startup is completed you will be in command line mode and should see a prompt with a cursor positioned after it.  At the prompt enter the following then press RETURN:
    /sbin/fsck -fy
If you receive a message that says "***** FILE SYSTEM WAS MODIFIED *****" then re-run the command until you receive a message that says "** The volume (name_of_volume) appears to be OK."  If you re-run the command more than seven times and do not get the OK message, then the drive cannot be repaired this way. If you were successful then enter:
    reboot
and press RETURN to restart the computer.

  • Install Airport Utility 5.0 without the installation CD

    Good morning,
I am travelling and need to install the Airport Utility 5.0 for windows but I dont have the installation CD with me.
I have been trying to look for the installation files but cannot find them.
    Can anyone help me?
    Thanks
    Nuno Sanches e Silva

As you've probably discovered, the installation software for Airport Utility is only available on the CD, and not on this website. However, there is a way to get the software, but it requires a bit of a hack on your part. Some of this relates to Vista, so if you are running XP I think that you can ignore 14-19.
    1. You will need a program called Less_MSIerables:
    http://blogs.pingpoet.com/overflow/archive/2005/11/16/14995.aspx
    2. Download it to your desktop
Unzip that file (Should end up in your unzipped file folder)
    3. Now, download Airport Extreme (works for Airport Express, too) software:
    http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/airportbasestationupdate2007001forwindows .html
    4. Run
    5. A window will open that states "This Update requires AirPort Version 5.0 to be Installed". *Don't exit from this window.*
    6. Instead, go Start ->start search and type in %temp%. Enter.
    7. YOu will see a file folder called IXP050.TMP
    8. Open it.
    9. You should be able to see a file called APsetup.msi.
    10. Click your mouse on it, but don't open it.
    11. At the top of the window you will see if the address of this file. If not, click the yellow file folder in the address bar. Copy that address.
    12. Next go to the folder in which you saved the unzipped version of Less_Msierables
    13. In a subfolder you will see a file called Lessmsi.
    14. Right-click on this file
    15. Go to properties.
    16. Go to compatability.
    17. Run in XP Mode
    18. Apply
    19. OK
    20. Again right-click on icon.
    21. Run as administrator.
    22. In the window that pops up, paste the address of Apsetup.msi
    23. You will see a list of many files, but the one of the first will be APUtil.exe.
    24. Extract this file to a location that you can easily find.
    25. A file folder will appear with a name like cab#APSetup.cab1
    26. Open that file folder and you will see a file APUtil.exe
    27. Click on that file, and the admin utility will open. You should be able to find your airport device.
I suggest that you move this file to your desktop for easy access.

  • Restoring from TM back up without the installation DVD?

I just replaced the HD in my Mini since the original died but I can't find my original OSX Installation DVD.
I was hoping restoring the system would be pretty painless since my TM back ups are up to date but it seems that I won't be able to use them, correct?

Correct (the difference is, which DVD).
And as to the "bootable" drive: I do have a small emergency bootable FireWire drive but it only has operating system on it and a couple of utilities. I suppose that won't do?
You can't do a full system restore without a disc; and you can't use +Setup Assistant+ without a fresh installation of OSX. Your best bet by far is to get a DVD that you can use to do a full system restore.
In theory, you could "clone" your F/W drive to the internal, then use +Migration Assistant+ to transfer your apps and user accounts from your backups.
    That does present some problems:
If the user account on the F/W drive has the same name as any on your backups, it can't be transferred "as is;" you must either skip it or have MA rename it.
Sone 3rd-party apps transferred that way may not work properly, if at all. Some may need to be reinstalled from the original discs, and some (even the ones that transfer properly) may need to have their purchase keys/serial numbers re-entered.
User accounts may not have the proper permissions to files on other drives, including the backups.

  • Using bootcamp without the installation disc.

My school allows me to download windows XP for free, so I did so and put it on an external hard drive. Is there anyway I can use bootcamp to install XP from the hard drive, or do I need an installation disc?
    Thanks

    Hi stribs,
BootCamp needs a Windows Installation CD/DVD since it has to boot your Mac from that CD/DVD during installation.
Ask your school if the downloaded Windowsd package can be used to burn an installation CD.

  • Multiple installs of runtime engine?

Are there any problems with multiple installs of LabVIEW 7.0 runtime engine.
That is, if I create an executable application with the runtime engine installer present and distribute it to a person who already has the 7.0 runtime engine installed, does this present any problems? Will the runtime engine actually be installed the second time? Will there be multiple entries in the Windows add/remove list?

The installer is designed to work that way. Multiple installs of the same version of the runtime engine should only increment the reference count on the files. When you install your built application you will not see an entry for the runtime engine in the Add/Remove Programs (ARP) list.
If you are familiar with MSI terminology, this behaviour is because the LV RTE that is included in your installer is just the merge module not the MSI. When you install the LV development environment, the RTE is installed from a separate MSI. Because your built app installer will use the merge module, the only way to uninstall the RTE will be by uninstalling your app.

  • How do I create installer that checks the available Run Time Engine on the target system

    Hi,
I am looking for a soultion on custom Installer where this Installer once done with the Installation should be capable of checking the presence of Runtime Engine on the target system. I amaware of including/checking the LV RTE checkbox for such options and we are working on some other concept. The thing is we would like to give the user a pop-up or any message that shows the presence of Runtime engine on the target system after finishing the installation. In case the runtime engine is not already installed on the target system, this time the message will be for the link to get the .exe and close the installation.
Overall we would like to minimize the size of our Installer that in case will get increased if we include Run Time Engine along with the Installer.
I am also assuming that such checking can be done through Advanced Tab in the Installer properties by including any such .exe for performing those things but looking for more options if possible to get it done.
Please do let me know if someone has any idea about it.
    Thnaks in Advance,
    Vivek

    Hi teststand,
you can start another program which checks if the rte is available. It should also be possible with only a batch file.
