Distributing a single app to 100 iPads.

I have a requirement to distribute one app to 100 devices used by one organization. These devices will not belong to a individual within the company, but will be used for a kiosk type display. What is the best way of going about this without having to set up 20 or 100 different apple id's.

For inhouse Apps this is not a problem with a proper Mobile Device Mgmt. For Apps from Apple App store may be the Volume Purchase Program is the solution http://www.apple.com/business/vpp/

Determining single app dimension on iPad

Hello,
iTunes tells me that my apps on iPad 2 use more than 7 GB of memory.
Actually, i can't think of an app on my iPad using so much memory. If I sum the dimensions of single apps in the App Window on iTunes I get no more than 2 GB. As far as documents are concerned, the only supsect I have is about a Newspaper App that could keep old issues in memory.
So far, dooes anyone know about an app that lists actual app dimensions on iPad 2 (including the app's documents)?

Something you could do to maybe getter a better idea of how much space the apps are actually taking up would be to restart the iPad or try a hard reset. If you don't regularly restart, you could be getting an incorrect number on the app storage space.
To restart ....
To turn it off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears.
Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPad.
To turn iPad on, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
To reset ....
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds until the Apple logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
There are apps that will monitor system activity such as System Activity Monitor and System Info but i don't know if they will show each individual app's size. You can however do the math on your own which you stated you have already done.
Newspaper subscriptions can take up a great deal of space on the iPad, but most of the the space other than the app itself is accounted for in "other" on the iPad - I think. Other would also include app data from productivity apps, game saves and so on.

Need to hide battery/wifi status in single app mode on iPad

I am running a dozen iPads in single app mode. The App "Live OEE". I'm using Apple configurator to push a restore, and restrict it to single app mode.
Here's the problem, the first time it loads the app, everything works fine. But once the screen goes into auto lock, or is locked manually with the lock button, when it comes back up, the Wifi icon + ipad is on the left hand side and the battery status is on the right hand side at the top of the ipad screen. The text isn't really the problem, the problem is the wifi logo + the word "ipad" is blocking the "back" button in this app. I can't click the back button (easily, the VERY corner works like 20% of the time). This is a usage issue as the back button is pretty critical to the operation of the app.

Never mind. I found it it was due to a default setting in Quicksilver, which i just recently installed. This other question solved my problem:

I searched a while and couldn't find anything to match my problem on the forums. However, i wasn't sure what terms to use to describe my problem because they are all generic.

I closed every single App at my Ipad but something is still working in the back. The sighn for the internet is alway spinning arround.

Can somebody help?

Nd to Upload a single apps for 100 iPads using a single account. How many apps shld I purchase in order no to infringe in any legality issue.
Do note that volume purchase is not an options as I'm situated out of US.

Why ipad reloads every single app when syncing?

I've had a really annoying problem and I don't know why it's happening. My ipad has iCloud back up turned on, but if I connect to itunes to add a new app for example, when I press apply, iTunes resyncs every single app on my ipad which takes 2hours or more.
What on earth is going on here? It never used to happen before iTunes 10, can't tell you how annoying it is, as it means i cannot manage my apps manually anymore.

How to restore from backup without sync all my apps? I recently upraded firmware to IOS 7, and then tried to restore from my privouse backup. But it everytime, when it's saying you are successfully restored. but I when I unlock my phone all app icon are dark gray color, means nothing restored and then itunes automactically copying all my app to iPhone like 100+ apps, I dont need all of them.

I am trying to manage a number ipads in the business but I have problems managing the download of apps to multiple ipads using a single copy of Itunes and appleid.
I obviously want purchase correctly the number of copies of the app I require and manage them going forward but the issue I have is that when I try to purchase an additional copy of the app it shows as already purchased and downloaded in my Itunes.
What am i doing wrong or is this a feature?
Any help appreciated.

Is it possible to transfer one single App from my iTunes onto my iPad, without losing the Apps that are already installed on my iPad?

I originally had the app (FilmOn.TV) on my iPhone, so it is backed up in my iTunes on my PC. It's no longer available in the App Store and I would really like to have it on my iPad. When I read up on this, it seems to say that if I sync any apps from my iTunes onto my iPad, that any Apps currently on the iPad will be deleted.
Can anyone tell me, please, is it possible to bring one single App across onto my iPad, without losing all of my existing ones.

Will newly created single edition apps run on ipad 1?

Hello,
I am creating a single edition app for the iPad. WIll it run on an iPad 1 (without iOS8 installed) all the way through to the Air?
Or are any apps now created just compatible with the new OS?

DPS apps you create at this time support iOS 6 through iOS 8. The iPad 1 can't upgrade from iOS 5 to iOS 6, so DPS apps don't work on those old devices. But the iPad 2 and later can run iOS 6 (and later).
As a rule of thumb, DPS apps support at least the two most recent iOS versions.

4.3.5 for iPad crashes every single app

Just upgraded to 4.3.5 for iPad...every single app crashes when I launch it. Tried hard reboot, tried resetting. My last backup had been done with this upgrade somehow so I can't go back...any way to downgrade this useless software? I need to get rid of 4.3.5! It's evil!

There may be nothing wrong with it, but isn't it weird that I did a full reset twice and still had the same problem? Or that you have to download a free app and run it before anything will work? I've never had to do that with any other version personally. Maybe that's a common thing but I've never heard of it.

Converting from single app subscription to creative cloud

Just converted account to CC. Was told I had to download DW6 , would lose DW5.5 with cancellation of the single app subscription.
Did so- and it seems to be a standalone installation. Can I confidently uninstall 5.5 and move forward?

Single folio optimized for ipad 1/2 and 3

Is it possible to publish a single app, produced with adobe dps, that is optimized for retina display as well as for the older ipads?
so that a customer could buy the app at itunes, and depending on his device, he gets the ipad1/2-version or the retina-version of the single magazine.

Actually, the print parallel is exactly the way I'm approaching DPS. If I'm printing 150 line screen and an image is 150dpi (or anything less than 300dpi), that's an issue that needs to be fixed. I'm not going to just run it and hope the client doesn't notice. The image is either the correct resolution, or below the correct resolution.
In the case of DPS, I am unable to use the correct resolution for both iPad 1/2 and iPad 3 if I want to distribute a single-edition app. What I want is to be able to target devices and ensure the correct resolution folio is rendered on each device. Renditions is exactly the right feature to accomplish this, but it being limited to multi-issue apps is what's tripping me up. I understand the way the feature is implemented now will not allow for it to exist in single-issue apps. My hope is Adobe changes the way it works and considers renditions an essential feature, regardless of the type of app. In other words, renditions as it is now feels like leveraging Adobe's already-existing services to accomplish a great feature, but perhaps a fresh look at the feature is what's needed to move it beyond its current limitations.
As for file size, I did not say I'm not concerned about it. Rather, I said I'm less concerned about it than quality. For our business, quality is top priority. Our clients and customers have a discerning eye. The image comparison I posted above should illustrate the vast quality difference and the folly in assuming 1024 folios look "nearly identical" or "good enough" on the new iPad.
And yes, I realize we can do "the whole thing" with HTML. We create our own webapps, do all of our own hosting and have staff that develops in Rails, Javascript, HTML, etc. Our production staff, however, knows nothing but InDesign. My hope with DPS was to ensure our production staff could create publications for print and use DPS for tablet publishing. But, the more I learn about DPS, the more attractive building our own apps leveraging HTML sounds.
I'm posting my feedback here thinking Adobe might like to know that a small publishing company like ours is evaluating DPS and coming to the conclusion we may be better off moving away from Adobe's tools altogether, including InDesign, and working in HTML.

How do you make charts in the Numbers app on the iPad?

I've followed the guides, asked Geniuses and spoken with AppleCare on how to implement charts within the iPad Numbers app. So far I haven't been able together any help or suggestions.
I am trying to create a pie chart showing some data for an investment portfolio. So maybe 6 investments totalling 100%. When I select the data first and click on create a chart, it brings up one single segment showing 100%. If I add the data afterwards it does the same, sometimes when you click change from rows to columns will it bring up more than one segment, but not always. It also does not show the chart labels with the input data, and just leaves them as coloured dots.
I have found one one, way is to click individual pieces of data, so 6 clicks in this example, but it still doesn't show the labels and I can't work out how to make it do this.
It shouldn't be this hard, to create on of the new beautiful charts as advertised for this app, but yet no one at apple seems to know how it works, and suggest its either a bug or that the app isn't powerful enough to create charts?
I have tried on a first and third generation iPad, as well as on my pone 3GS and 4S but none of these work either.

Start with your table. Create the table and values you need
Select the values to include by tapping on one cell and then dragging the selection handles
When "Create Chart" Appears, tap it and select your chart type (pie in this case) - the chart will appear as 100% filled, don't worry.
Tap the chart once and then tap Edit References - this will reveal a Gear Menu in the upper right
Tap the gear and select "Plot Rows as Series" or "Plot Coumns as Series" as needed
You should now have a pie chart that you can modify the style to your liking.
