Distributing reports created in CR 9

We have a database app developed in VB 6.0, and uses Crystal Reports 9.2 .We need to deploy the RPT files in the users machine, where there is obviously no CR installed. I made sure that all the required DLLs are in place in the user's machine, like craxdrt9.dll, crviewer9.dll, etc, but the user gets the "Invalid TLV record" error when he runs the report. I searched and got this link, https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=56787567, but this points at downloading MSM files for VS.net.
Are their any other way to get the runtime files installed for a user?
Upgrading upwards from VB or CR9 is not possible at this point.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately, CR 9 runtimes have been removed and are not available anymore. Now, if memory server right, with CR you did have the option of deploying the runtime using the MSM files for RDC, or using DEP files. The latter was not supported, but it was possible. If you use the VB6 Deployment and package Wizard, it should allow you to create the deployment project. I don't remember if CR 9 actually  installed the dep files and how mush modification they needed to make this work...
Your best option is to obtain CR XI R2A and upgrade your app to that.

  • Compaitability of CR 2008 with reports created in CR XI

I need to use Crystal Reports 2008  for reporting , and im not sure if i install this liscense , will it support the existing reports created using CR XI ? Can any one advice me on this. Thanks.

    Amy,
We do not change the file extension with each release.
We support opening the last 6 versions of CR with CR 2008.  We also support that the prior 2 versions of CR can open RPT files created with CR 2008.
We know that you need to work with multiple versions at the same time, so we use this standard to make it easy.
    I hope this helps.

  • I can't open a report created in win XP on win2000

I can't open a report created in win XP on win2000
I created a report in winXP on SCOTT schemas and I tried at home to reopen the report.
I receive an error like UNABLE TO OPEN .....REP-0110.
I tried these reports on another computer with WINXP and they perfectly worked.
Only win2000 has this problem? Can I solve this problem without installing WinXP?
    Thank you

there should be no difference, except if you reports versions on those two machines are different. have you tried the other way around, create a file on win2000 and try to open it on XP ? maybe the file gets corrupted during transfer or something.
    thanks,

  • How to Publish a report created by Oracle report builder

    Hi Everyone
My colleague and I were trying to use the Oracle Reports Builder to replace our existing reports generator from our ERP system. We have already created the report in the Reports Builder from the development suite.
    What we are looking for is a similar solution as the Microsoft reporting service;
    1) create the company report templates
    2) and then upload the template files to a location (e.g. folder on the server)
    3) then all user in the company can access it by a web browser with some fields which they can enter some critiria (e.g. purchase order number).
    4) then send to printer and the print out should look exactly like the template.
Unfortunately, we had very bad time on try to find out what we need and how to publish that Oracle report we created. We spent 15 hours on that but no result.
In that 15 hours we tried to setup the "Oracle report service", but at last my colleague said that wasnt what we looking for, the "Oracle report service" is for reporting the error from the application hosted on the server, not for publish the company report created by the "Oracle report bulider" .
We use Oracle Database 10g for the ERP quite a long time already. We had the Oracle Developer Setup, and the Application Server Installed.
Could someone please tell us what kind of Oracle service we are actually looking for. Any other suggestion and setup guides are also the most welcoming.
    Best Regards
    Bryan

    Hello,
If you want to be able to execute your Reports on the web, the best solution is to use the "Oracle Application Server"
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/ias/htdocs/101202.html
For example , the "Forms & Reports Services Standalone" edition
Then, use the Reports Servlet to submit the execution requests to a Reports Server :

  • Export result of report created in CJE3

    Hi,
my requirement is to export the results of a PS (project system) report created in transaction CJE3 (with report painter), to use them for a custom RFC.
Is there anybody who knows a function to run this kind of report from ABAP code or in background?
Otherwise, do somebody know any workaround?
    Thank you.

    Hello David,
For 11ERL1, the program linked to it is :
    GP1SBBMUEVEV2X34C1HZVQQBO3R
you can run it in SE38 and in background with a variant, you will get the result in a spool as for all background jobs.

  • Report Painter: Create variant for specific report created

    Hello,
My knowledge in very weak in report painter.
In the initial screen of a report created to analyse the budget by internal order whe have the year and the period of analysis.
By default, for every user the year is 2010 and the period of analysis is from month 1 to month 1.
My question, and I am sorry to ask such a simple question, is how can we change this initial screen?
The aim is to have for every user, when connecting the report, by default the year 2011 and the period of analysis from month 1 to month 16?
    Thank you.
    Best Regards.

    Hi
    1. Go to GRR3 and identify the variable used in your report
    2. Go to GS12 / GS13 and check the variable definition
May be some default value is specified there / or it is formula variable... Double click on the formula variable and you can check how it is defined...
For the variable related to PERIOD - You need to specify a different variable for the From & To and specify the default value as 1 and 16

Visual Composer is a model-driven development tool that allows business experts to create and adapt analytical and free-styled applications without writing code. Visual Composer 7.0 is the General Availability (GA) release; Visual Composer 6.0 introduced the freestyle model-to-code creation of analytical appli- cations and it was intended as a preview tool for evaluation purposes.
Visual Composer now connects to SAP NetWeaver BI via a Remote Function Call (RFC) rather than a Web service connection. The resulting communication between the portal and SAP NetWeaver BI works faster, especially in cases of large query results. With these added functionalities, users can create more user-friendly, powerful analytical applications using Visual Composer, such as Executive Dashboards.

New Features of Visual Composer 7.0
Visual Composer 7.0 is part of SAP NetWeaver Portal in SAP NetWeaver 2004s. This release focuses on SAP Analytics and offers significant changes from the previous Visual Composer release. The most notable changes include:
Visual Composer now runs on the Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE) Engine of SAP NetWeaver Application Server (SAP NetWeaver AS). Therefore, you no longer need Internet Information Services (IIS) 5, Microsoft SQL Server 2000, and Microsoft .NET Framework.
Visual Composer now can generate iViews for Web Dynpro (the SAP NetWeaver programming model for user interfaces) and Adobe Flash Player 8 or higher in SAP NetWeaver Portal. You can create Internet applications by integrating Adobe Flex Server and Web Dynpro.
Visual Composer now integrates BI content from SAP or non-SAP systems using BI Java Connectors (part of BI Universal Data Integration 7.0).

  • Running reports created with Reports 9i in client-server configuration

I need to have users run reports created with Oracle Reports 9i on workstations without any Oracle products installed on it, (in a client-server configuration as opposed to Web based) . I am looking for a step-by-step approach to accomplish this. I looked through the installation documents in OTN and I did not see one that addressed this.
BTW, I saw an earlier post in this form which disscussed this, indirectly, for Reports 6i but I don't think these steps will work for 9i rpeorts
    ** Earlier post
    Question:
I have an application in Oracle 8i, Forms 6i, Reports 6i. Now I want to make executable CD which will be installable in nature. I don't know how to make it or what tools to be used for this . Kindly help me out.
    Answer:
You can write a .bat file for installation.....
This file should do following things.
    1. Oracle8 Personal Setup
    Install only Database (no tools)
    2. Oracle Developer200 Setup
    Install only Forms Runtime
    Reports Runtime
    Graphics Runtime
    3. Use imp/exp to put the desired database...
    4. Copy exexutables in some directory and place shortcuts in programs and destkop
    5. Make new file-types in start->setting ->folder options-> file-types
and specify that in which runtime-application you want to open your executables....
    Thanks in advance,
    Audrey Watson

    hi audrey,
there is no client/server runtime available for reports9i. what
you can do is to use the rwclient executable shipped with IDS
to submit jobs to the reports server.
there are plans to provide a stand alone thin client in the
future but this is not available yet.
    regards,
    christian

  • Are Distributed Forms created in Acrobat XI Pro compatible with Response Forms in Acrobat X Pro?

I want to be able to use distributed forms (created in Acrobat XI Pro) that I have received back through email with Acrobat X Pro.  That is, I want to be able to import the form information that is being sent back to me into a response form in Acrobat X Pro. Is this kind of "forward-compatible" issue possible?
Or, since I created the distributed forms in Acrobat XI Pro, can I only import data from those forms in an appropriate response from in Acrobat XI Pro?
    Thanks!

The distribution technique for email, network folder, or internal server haven't changed between Acrobat X and XI so you should be able to do this; however, it won't be managed through Tracker because you're distributing the form through different programs.

  • Copy/export a drill down report created by CXR0 in PRD

    Hi Gurus,
I am trying to copy/export a drill down report created by CXR0 in PRD ( can not move transport from PRD to QAC, transport doesnot allow ) to QAC and DEV,  is there any other way to export / import , download /upload option to transfer report or form from the drill down report.
    Please help

    Hi Amit,
I think you are right, I got same type of information from other basis source that drill down report cannot be exported or imported, only way to move by transport.
Still I wait for your confirmation,

  • Can report created with BIP be called from forms?

    Hello.
    We have many forms.
And now we ned complex reports. With BIP we can create them.
But is there a way to call them from forms, like reports created with Report builder?
Can we transfer parameters from forms to BIP reports, so data can be queried on that form parameters?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
yes, there are several ways you can do this.
DejanH, we discussed at the BI Publisher Forum, here just for the others.
The document you're looking for is here: http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/xml-publisher/docs/Forms_BIP_v21.pdf
    or here
    http://www.oracle.com/global/de/community/forms/documents/Forms_BIP_v21.pdf
    Jan,
it's a new version of the mentioned paper at the OTN-Forms-Side and the old one was removed.
The document describes the way, how to integrate BI Publisher via Web Services into Forms. There are other ways available like
    - using HTTP calls via show_document
    - using the JavaAPI of BI Publisher and import the needed classes to Forms

  • Execution method of report created using Web Intelligence

    Hi everyone,
Could anyone please let me know of the way data in a report created as web intelligence document is refreshed? Is it real-time data each time the report is executed or do I have to explicitly hit the "Refresh" button in order to get latest data?
In case data is cached and renewed only when "Refresh" is clicked, which execution of the report is taken for the cache - let's say in case 100 users access the same report.
    Thanks,
    Maria

You don't have to refresh every time there is new data, it is real-time. It should automatically refreshed.
if your universe is created on the BI query, in BI there is caching you can enable in rsrt and that will take care of it. I am not sure if there is any caching mechanism in Webi.
    thanks.
