Distribution list blocking accepted user

I have a master distribution list that only has a select few users on it, however one of them is being blocked - They're getting the "'[email protected]' Your message can't be delivered because delivery to this address is restricted." error.
They are a member of a group which is clearly in the allowed users field.
Any ideas?
[email protected]

Hello,
Did you mean you check Message Delivery Restrictions for distribution group, and a member of a group is in the allowed users field?
Please use get-transportrule cmdlet to check if there is related transport rule.
Please make sure whether you configure message moderation for distribution group.

  • Distribution List not displaying user in Outlook

    Hi All,
    Running Exchange 2010 with SP3.
I have a user that when added to a distribution list only appear in the distribution list using ADUC or Exchange Management Console but in outlook 2013 if I expand the distribution list are not present
but will receive the email as long as the distribution group is not expanded.
Does that make sense?  Any ideas?

  • Redirect internal email sent to a distribution list to another user mailbox

    Dear all,
We are running on Exchange 2010 and would like to know if it would be possible to redirect email sent to a distribution list to another mailbox if source is internal, meaning from address is *@company.com
Let me explain: We have a DL like [email protected] and a ticketing system which checks a mailbox [email protected] on a regular basis.
We would like to redirect only the messages from our users to helpdesk in order to automatically create cases for their problems.
Have been checking EMC and ADUC but couldn't find anything related to this.
    Kind regards,
    Tudor.

    Hi,
Yes, creating transport rule will achieve the goal.
Glad to know that we have solved this problem.
    Have a nice day : )

  • Report email multiple users or distribution list

I have created an output device for PDF format for report painter output.  When I print, there is space for a single mail address.  I have created distribution lists in the workplace, tcode SBWP.  I need to know how to send the pdf of the report painter output to the distribution list or multiple users.

this sounds to me like the client is not handling errors properly
and instead of resubmitting to only those that failed, it is resubmitting all
I would say to look at the mail.log_current. make sure logging is on the defaults channel
    set LOG_CONNECTION=3
    and LOG_MESSAGE_ID=1
    in option.dat
    recompile configuration
    imsimta cnbuild
    reload configuration
    imsimta reload
The original problem was when a temporary error occurred in sending one of the addresses, and we didn't handle that properly. Happened sometimes when Brightmail was involved.
Since these are not Messaging lists, but Outlook lists, it's entirely possible that it's Outlook that's not handling the errors correctly.

  • Email sent from user goes out as distribution list

I have an outlook/exchange 2013 user that states that they sent an email out as themselves but got delivered as being 'from' a distribution list.  I checked sent items and it shows as being sent from the distribution list.  But user states that
they never changed 'from' field from themselves before sending.  is this a possible exchange bug of some kind?

    Hi,
As Tony suggested, please check if this user can reproduce the problem. And please check if OWA works well.
If you run Outlook in cached mode, please switch to online mode to check the result.

    We have several distribution lists.
Our Gwia expanded distribution list, so external users can send a mai to our distributon lists.
That 's what we wanted .

  • "changes to the distribution list membership cannot be saved. you do not have sufficient permission to perform this operation on this object"

Running Exchange 2010/latest updates on Windows 2008 R2 servers.
When I create a new DL that I want someone to manage, they received the following message when trying to add/remove from the DL:
"changes to the distribution list membership cannot be saved.  you do not have sufficient permission to perform this operation on this object"
I have followed everything in "http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2009/11/18/453251.aspx" with no luck
    Any suggestions?

Piggybacking off of the discussion above, with our deployment of Exchange 2007, we created a set of web-based tools that allowed people to create Exchange Resources including distribution lists.  To allow multiple people to manage the lists for a given
department, we programmatically created a group, which is populated with one or more users from the "resource department".  We then set the following AD permissions to allow members of the group to manage membership of departmental distribution lists:
Add-ADPermission -User DepartmentalGroup -AccessRights ReadProperty, WriteProperty -Properties 'Member' -DomainController dc.contoso.com
Fast forward to Exchange 2010 and the landscape has changed with Exchange 2010's implementation of Role Based Access Control and I'm struggling to come up with a way to programmatically allow a group of users to manage distribution list membership for a
subset of distribution lists - note that we have approximately 75 departments, with each having its own set of coordinators who should be able to manage distribution lists for their department but not lists created by other departments.  The specific
error we receive in Outlook when attempting to modify group membership is the same as the title of this thread - "Changes to the distribution list membership cannot be saved.  You do not have sufficient permission to perform this operation on this object".
I implemented the settings referred to at
http://sysadmin-talk.org/2010/06/omg-allowing-end-users-to-manage-distribution-group-membership-in-exchange-2010-2/ which details the process of creating a new management role and revoking the role's ability to create new distribution lists and remove distribution
lists (which we want because we want those actions to be performed using our web tools).
All that to say that the ultimate problem we have is that the above relies on the "ManagedBy" field of a distribution list (viewable by Get-DistributionList Listname | fl *ManagedBy*) to determine group ownership.  When "ManagedBy" is set to a user,
the user CAN edit a distribution list's membership from Outlook and OWA.  When "ManagedBy" is set to a group, members of the group are UNABLE to edit the membership of the distribution list via Outlook or Outlook Web Access/ECP.   Furthermore,
Set-DistributionGroup does not allow you to specify a list of users to assign to the ManagedBy field.  However, if "ManagedBy" was set to a specific user and that user logs in to the Exchange Control Panel and adds additional "owners" of the distribution
list, which I can then see from EMS - both the original owner and any additional owners added can in turn modify group membership for the list using Outlook or Outlook Web Access/ECP.
    My questions:
    1) Is it "expected" behavior that while I can assign a group to the "ManagedBy" property of distribution list, members of that group are still unable to edit the group membership?  ...or is there a fix for the behavior I'm seeing?
    2) Can multiple values be assigned to the "ManagedBy" property when using Set-DistributionList - ex: Set-DistributionList DLName -ManagedBy:user1,user2
    3) Any other suggestions?
    Thanks,
    -Lance

  • Copy private distribution list to Shared Distribution list

    Dear Gurus,
I have some 500 Distribution list created in Private distribution list of SO23 Tcode. I have to assign same distribution list fo some other number of user. So,is it possible to copy all the content from Private distribution list to Shared distribution list in SO23 . Then i can share this shared distribution list all other user .
    Thanks

    Hi Juan,
I tried that but it is not showing the shared distribution list for moving.
I found 1 sap BC office document which stats that moving the distribution list form Private to public is not possible due to security reason.
So, no options for me and to create manual shared distribution list.
    Thanks

  • Something is deleting my distribution list in Production system

    Hello masters:
I created a distribution list in order to send emails from a workflow item. It's working fine in dev and qas. However, something is deleting my distribution list in Production system.
And the worst is that my distribution list is deleted as soon as I create it again (well, it lasts a few days).
Does anybody knows what could be happening?
    Thank you.

Probably the Distribution list is not getting created at all.
Also check whether there is any program that is deleting the distribution list.
    TZW02                            User <-> Determine message
Also check for Authorization when you are trying to display existing Distribution list.

  • Outlook Web App - Distribution Lists (Your Request can not be completed right now. Please Try again Later).

We just migrated over to Exchange 2013 and have a few issues.  The main concern is users and their individual distribution lists didn't carry over correctly.  I narrowed it down to the lists that users received via an email, then dragged-n-dropped
onto their Contact area.  All other individual contacts and other lists can be viewed/edited, its just the ones that was copied via an email into their contacts.  We get the message that "Your request can not be completed right now.  Please
try again later."  This is an important asset to be able to pass distribution lists from one user to another user (per department); but don't want to make the list a global list.  These distribution lists can be seen if using the full outlook
version; but won't display in OWA.

  • Question about distribution lists

I've create some distribution lists and added users to them.
When I send a message directly to the user I can see it in the rcpt user mailbox.
If I send a message to the distribution list to which the user subscribes, the unser doesn't receive the message in the mailbox
I've to set something to see this messages?

First verify that the user sending the email has permission to post to the list. Depending on how the list is set up, you may need to be a subscriber to send to the list, otherwise the message may be rejected.
The next thing to check is the the mail queue to see if the message is stuck there. I do this by connecting to the es_mail database (using sqlplus) and running a query like this:
select * from es_queue where queue = 5That will indicate if any messages are in the list queue (which is queue 5). If so, then it is possible that your list queue process is down. You can use the EM console to check the status of your list processes, or just run the oesctl command, eg:
oesctl show targetsThis will return the list of mail processors configured on the local server. To get the status, just pick the list name and run:
oesctl show status server-name:um_system:listThis should return something like:
    server-name:um_system:list:110291835244465386 ----Heartbeat-----

Syning Outlook Contacts to iphone Distribution List (Mail Groups)do not syn.
Is there a solution to syning these.

    Hey pl7626,
Unfortunately there is no way to view the details of the contacts with the distribution list. The user could setup groups on the device, this would allow them to send to group of people and give them the ability to edit and veiw the details.

  • Spam safelist for distribution list

I have a user that wants to create a safelist for email that regularly goes to a distribution list.  The user will get a notice that the email has been caught in the spam filter, can releast the email but is not able to set a safelist for the address.
Is there a way to grant access to create a safelist for email that is sent to a distribution list?

    Hello Messenger,
Users can only add an email sender's address to their own Safelist. There are no available permissions for users' Safelist/Blocklist settings. As such, you would not be able to grant them access to anything that is not already availalble.
If any users find that valid messages from distribution lists are being tagged as spam, it would be a good idea to open a ticket with Cisco IronPort Customer Support. They can then work with the IronPort Anti-Spam team, to correct any rules causing false positives.

  • Reply feature for a users within a distribution list

We need to have the following feature when a user respond to a mail which he received as a member of a distribution list.
To allow ‘Read’ only access to all who are currently in the group ID and restrict ‘Respond’ to only the 3  names?
When any of the 3 names respond to the email, the signature should read ‘xxx desk’?
    Many thanks
    Shiva

    Thanks for the reply  .
    Please check my response below
    1. You can restrict the list so it only accepts emails from the 3 authorised users with the mail delivery options.   -We need this group to receive mails from the internet. So any user should be able to send to this group
    2. This is more complicated, but with a transport rule whenever one of the 3 authorised mailboxes send to the group in question, you can append (like a disclaimer) text to the end of the email.  Unfortunately it goes at the end of the email, and not
at the end of the part of the email just added to the chain, but if the signature is that important, it might do.   -The users will be responding to the mails which they receive from external senders ..they also respond to other mails using their
personal ID ..so when they send using their personal ID the signature should not be the same ..
    Shiva
So to be clear on the requirements:
The list needs to accept email from the internet
Only a certain group of users should be able to reply internally to that group
When they reply to that group, a generic signature should be used instead of a personal one
Have we understood correctly?  if so, then the solution proposed by Deepak would seem to be the better fit, but I think you would be better to alter the process to one which is more easily managed.
