Distribution List issue

Hello,
Since our upgrade to GW 8 users can no longer administer Distribution Lists. I have created a new test list and made myself administrator to verify this. I can add the members to the list but when I save and close they are not added to the list. We are running 8.02 with most current build (91941)on agents and clients. Do I need to run some kind of PO repair?
Thanks in advance.

Hmm, weird although I'm have a weird dist list issue also in that some are disappearing from users' address books. Sometimes they'll show back up if I refresh the address book from the system book but often not. I'll submit a new post on that one; it's possible they're related.

These are all regular c/s connections, very few of our users (maybe 10)
using caching. We had implemented this before we went to 8 and it was
working fine, now it's broke.

  • Email Issue - Can't send to a distribution list/shared mailbox

    Hi,
    I am able to send emails to named email addresses for individuals in my company but when I add a distribution list or a shared mailbox, I get the following error:
    ORA-29279: SMTP permanent error: 550 5.1.1 : Recipient address rejected: User unknown in local recipient table
    Can someone please help me with this issue?
    Thanks

    Hello,
    In general I'd recommend you should always use a full address for your email recipients. Your mail server should handle a fully qualified address even for local delivery, however by using the fully qualified version you protect yourself from any configuration changes on the mail server that would stop local addressing working.
    Just my thoughts.

  • Distribution list do not appear in TO: field when user wants to send email

    All the blackberry users in the corporate are on BES server. When user enters the first few letters of a person or the # sign and the first few letters for the distribution list in TO: field, the email addresses are showing up from Global Address List (GAL) for example, and they can choose the email address.
    There is a particular issue with one user. His bb does not show any distribution list when he types # sign. The individual contacts from GAL are showing up after typing the first few letters though.
    User has a personal account apart from the corporate account.
    I can not figure out the problem.
    We recently wiped his bb and activated it, because he did not have the option to reply or forward his emails.
    If you know what could be the solution apart from reactivating the bb, please let me know.
    Regards,

    Hello,
    Honestly, from your original description, your users have a function I've never seen. To access the GAL from my BB, I must enter some characters and then use the Lookup function. Your description does not include the Lookup, so I honestly have no idea how your users are configured. From what you describe, it sounds like you are somehow (and for some reason) pushing the entire GAL to each device and this is not working on that one device. But, honestly, with Lookup, I can see no reason to want to push the full GAL out.
    Good luck!

  • How do I send e-mail to a distribution list using LabWindows/CVI?

    I need to be able to send e-mail to a user-defined distribution list using LabWindows/CVI? Has anyone done this? Any ideas where I could look?

    I commented on something similar to this awhile back.  My issue was that I had the base version and didn't have the Internet classes.  So this external app worked like a charm
    It has a lot of command-line inputer options to use as well.

  • How to add an SAP distribution list to transport?

    Hi All,
    I have created a shared distribution list in SAP using SO15. Can anyone suggest me how to add this list to a transport? or I need to create this in each environment.
    Please suggest on this issue.
    Thanks in advance
    Prady

    What does that mean? So I have to create it in each environment(i.e. Development/Quality/Production) explicitly. By no means I can transport this list then?
    Thanks for your quick response.
    With regards

  • Distribution List Not Showing in GAL

    Using the Exchange Management Console in 2007 I created a new Distribution List and added some users to it.   It is showing up under All Address Lists > All Groups.  But it is not showing up under the Global Address List.
    How can I get it to show up under the GAL?
    Thanks,

    Hi,
    Please try below steps :
     following command in the Exchange Management Shell.
    Get-GlobalAddressList | Format-List Name,*RecipientFilter*,ExchangeVersion
    This command lists detailed information on the Global Address Book.  To view information on all of the other address books on your Exchange 2007 server issue the following command:
    Get-AddressList | Format-List Name,*RecipientFilter*,ExchangeVersion
    Both of the above commands will display the following Address Book attributes:
    Name
    RecipientFilter
    LdapRecipientFilter
    LastUpdatedRecipientFilter
    RecipientFilterApplied
    RecipientFilterType
    ExchangeVersion
    If the RecipientFilterType is set to Legacy that means that the Address book has not been upgraded to the Exchange 2007 format.
    Below is the command that I ran to correct this issue:
    Set-GlobalAddressList "Default Global Address List" -RecipientFilter {(Alias -ne $null -and (ObjectClass -eq 'user' -or ObjectClass -eq 'contact' -or ObjectClass -eq 'msExchSystemMailbox' -or ObjectClass -eq 'msExchDynamicDistributionList' -or ObjectClass -eq
    'group' -or ObjectClass -eq 'publicFolder'))}
    While all of our other Address Books had been upgraded, you will need to ensure that you upgrade all of the Address Books on your Exchange 2007 server.

  • Best practice for Active Directory User Templates regarding Distribution Lists

    Hello All
    I am looking to implement Active Directory User templates for each department in the company to make the process of creating user accounts for new employees easier. Currently when a user is created a current user's Active directory account is copied, but
    this has led to problems with new employees being added to groups which they should not be a part of.
    I have attempted to implement this in the past but ran into an issue regarding Distribution Lists. I would like to set up template users with all group memberships that are needed for the department, including distribution lists. Previously I set this up
    but received complaints from users who would send e-mail to distribution lists the template accounts were members of.
    When sending an e-mail to the distribution list with a member template user, users received an error because the template account does not have an e-mail address.
    What is the best practice regarding template user accounts as it pertains to distribution lists? It seems like I will have to create a mailbox for each template user but I can't help but feel there is a better way to avoid this problem. If a mailbox is created
    for each template user, it will prevent the error messages users were receiving, but messages will simply build up in these mailboxes. I could set a rule for each one that deletes messages, but again I feel like there is a better way which I haven't thought
    of.
    Has anyone come up with a better method of doing this?
    Thank you

    You can just add arbitrary email (not a mailbox) to all your templates and it should solve the problem with errors when sending emails to distribution lists.
    If you want to further simplify your user creation process you can have a look at Adaxes (consider it's a third-party app). If you want to use templates, it gives you a slightly better way to do that (http://www.adaxes.com/tutorials_WebInterfaceCustomization_AllowUsingTemplatesForUserCreation.htm)
    and it also can automatically perform tasks such as mailbox creation for newly created users (http://www.adaxes.com/tutorials_AutomatingDailyTasks_AutomateExchangeMailboxesCreationForNewUsers.htm).
    Alternatively you can abandon templates at all and use customizable condition-based rules to automatically perform all the needed tasks on user creation such as OU allocation, group membership assignment, mailbox creation, home folder creation, etc. based on
    the factors you predefine for them.

  • How to sync changes in user-created distributions lists when used by multiple Outlook users

    Hi all,
    Thanks for looking at my post. We are using Outlook exchange and Outlook 2010.
    I have created a distribution list that is comprised of 20 members (students) with email addresses outside our organisation. I have sent this list to others in my workteam (Lecturers) and they have added the list to their own contacts group - we
    share this list as we all email the same students for different reasons.
    My issue arises when a student needs to be deleted from the distribution list and I am the first person to find out about it. Ideally, I would like to take the student off and have this distribution list automatically update for the other lecturers instead
    of having to re-send the list to them after it has been edited. As it stands at the moment, each lecturer has to go into the distribution list I originally sent to them to delete the student.
    There has to be an easier way to sync the changes that each lecturer makes to this list.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance
    Sharyn

    You can place the group in a shared Contacts folder so everyone will see the same group.
    Depending on your Exchange infrastructure and working habits, this could be a folder in your mailbox, a Public Folder, Shared Mailbox or even a SharePoint List.

  • How to include Distribution list in Bex Broadcaster

    Hi experts,
    Can anyone tell me how to include distribution list in bex broadcaster?
    We have created a distribution list which we use in SBWP tcode for sending reports through mail.
    I want to try broadcasting reports through Bex query designer and scheduling weekly. Although bex broadcaster
    provides us the facility to enter the email ids of user but it is very tedious to type all the ids. Can i incorporate
    the distribution list, which we have already created, in broadcaster?

    Just to close this topic.
    I have reported a bug to Android project, because bottom-line they are responsible for the error - not SAP BEx.

  • Messages hang upon send when sending to a distribution list

    I personally have noticed that when sending a message in Outlook 2007 with an Exchange 2003 server, messages addressed to a DL can sometimes give the spinning donut. I'm in the process of moving mailboxes to Exchange 2010, and the load is rather light
    on 2010 at the moment. I have a couple of reports from the Outlook 2007/Exchange 2010 users that when sending messages to a DL, the message stays on screen for a minute or two before disappearing and sending. This seems like a global catalog issue. How do
    I begin to troubleshoot and improve the time it takes sending messages to a DL?

    Hi,
    Please confirm if the Distribution List in your posting is created in Outlook client by end user as Contact Groups.
    If the DL is a distribution group which is created in Exchange 2010, please check whether the issue happens when sending a message in Outlook Web App. Please enable Cached mode in your Outlook clients to have a try.
    Additionally, if the issue only happens to some users instead of all users, please update the Outlook client to the latest service pack to check it.

  • How to create a security group to manage a Distribution list in exchange 2013

    Hi folks,
    We have AD synced with Online Exchange 2013. Dirsync is installed on AD. We would like to create a security group for a Distribution list(for instance: distribution list name is [email protected] and it is managed via a security group named "abc" ).
    How can this be achieved? I do see an option under Online Exchange console using browser-> Groups to create a new security group but it doesn't allow me to add the group created in AD-instead it ask us to create a new one. If we create a new one in Exchange
    online console- will it publish to our local AD?

    Hi TR,
    Thank you for your question.
    Are there any errors when we could not add group which is in local AD.
    When we could not add group which was created In AD, there are following options we could check:
    If current user who logon Exchange server has enough permission to add it
    The connection between Exchange server and AD
    If we create a new DG in Exchange online, it will be published to local AD.
    We could run the following command to create DG for abc.com:
    New-DistributionGroup -Name "abc" -Alias abc -Type "Security" -MemberJoinRestriction open
    We could refer to the following link to learn more about distribution group:

    If there are any questions regarding this issue, please be free to let me know.

  • Capturing the Actual Responder for a notification sent to a Distribution List in Outlook

    Hello All,
    Morning , need some guidance on the issue mentioned below which we are currently facing.
    We had a requirement to send Oracle Workflow Notification to a Distribution List maintained within Microsoft Outlook Mail client/server. The email address of the users which are part of the DL would be setup in this DL . lets say this DL has the
    mailing address as : [email protected] which has 4 users in it let's say Oracle Apps FND users : A (email id - [email protected]), B (email id - [email protected]) , C(email id - [email protected]) , D (email id - [email protected]) with their respective email address . This email address within Oracle Apps would be linked at the FND User setup as well as in the HRMS Employee Setup --. Official details section
    For this we created a ad hoc role name : 'Role_abcd' as below , then set ad hoc role attribute as shown below ( in the display name and email address we specify the email address created for the Distribution List )
    wf_directory.createadhocrole
                                           (role_name                    => 'Role_abcd',
                                            role_display_name            => 'Role_abcd',
                                            notification_preference      => 'MAILATTH'
    wf_directory.setadhocroleattr
                                          (role_name                    => 'Role_abcd',
                                           display_name                 => '[email protected]',
                                           email_address                => '[email protected]',
                                           notification_preference      => 'MAILATTH'  );
    Finally we set the Notification Performer
    Item Attribute (Next_Approver) and assign the role name ('Role_abcd') created above to this performer :
    wf_engine.setitemattrtext (itemtype      => p_in_itemtype,
                                           itemkey       => p_in_itemkey,
                                           aname         => 'NEXT_APPROVER',
                                           avalue        => 'Role_abcd' );
    Now we are able to successfully send the workflow notifications to this Outlook DL and all the 4 users : A,B,C & D would get the same notification to their email address mentioned as a part of the DL.
    Issue :
    Now lets say user A Approves this notification from email notification itself using mail id : [email protected] , In this scenario the Responder name which is getting captured in the wf_notifications table is not consistent , sometimes it is getting populated as : email:[email protected] and sometimes as the value for the recipient role/original recipient itself : Role_abcd .This appears to be wrong
    Ideally this responder column in wf_notifications table should get populated as  ( email:[email protected] ) so that we could identify as to which person within the DL has responded to the notification.
    Could someone please help as to how this could be acheived (to identify the actual responder for workflow notification sent to a Outlook Distribution List
    Thanks

    The following is the criteria when responding notification from email.
    1. If there is no user/role exists for the email address from which the notification is responded, the responder column value will be in the form 'email:[email protected]'.
    2. If there is only one user/role exists for the email address, then responder column value will be populated with that particular user/role.
    3. If there are multiple user/roles with the same email address, then responder column value will be populated with the user in the following preference order
         PER -> FND_USR -> OTHERS
    What is the customer code lne.
    The fix mentioned in step3 was given in 12.1.3 only. The earlier versions have the responder column value will be in the form 'email:[email protected]' if there are multiple users exists for the same email address.

  • Address Book "Edit Distribution List" not working in Lion 10.7.2

    I have been told by people in my "Groups" that I am sending to the wrong e-mail addresses.  I checked and sure enough so I went to edit the distribution list for that group and it's greyed out. It worked prior to this update. My wifes is still using 10.7.1 and edit didtribution list is not greyed out.....anyone having the same issue or any ideas where it is now or how to re-enable it....or is it just broken?  Also I am contented into iCloud.

    To add to my original post.... My wifes OS was 10.7.1 and I just finished the update to 10.7.2 and signed into iCloud.  I first transfered iCal but left Address Book.  When I went into Address Book and checked the Distribution List it was not greyed out.  Next I transfered Address Book to iCloud and checked Dist List and it was greyed out.  Next I removed Address Book from iCloud (leaving a copy of it on the computer), restarted AB and checked to see if DL was still greyed and it was not.  So no fixes here but if you want the functionality of the DL you could turn off Address Book in iCloud temp until they come up with a fix.  Important: if you turn off Address Book from iCloud be sure to leave a copy on your puter and of course before doing any of this make a Archive Backup of Address Book.  I guess at this point it'll just be a waiting game until a fix comes out.  Cheers, Neil

  • Use iCloud and Address Book Distribution List disappear. Why?

    Prior to upgrading to Lion, I was able to edit my distribution lists in Address Book on my Mac; while I am not sure if the same worked after I upgraded to Lion, I'm fairly certain that the main change happened when I went to iCloud, which appears to have made significant changes to my Mac apps. I can no longer edit the distribution lists in Address Book and there does not appear to be a facility to edit the distribution lists in Apple Mail (the issue is with those in the distribution who have multiple email addresses).
    Anyone got an answer for this?

    Okay! Lesson learned! I need to search more deeply in the Discussions forums! The answer to my question found under https://discussions.apple.com/message/17129766#17129766
