Distribution of Java JRE on Windows Vista Ultimate x64

The automatic update of the Java JRE on my Windows Vista Ultimate x64 system often comes up saying a new update is available but then as soon as I go ahead to install it, the update tells me that the particular version of the JRE is already installed.
How can this automatic update bug for new JRE installations be fixed.

Uninstall the software cleanly via the "Add or Remove programs" panel, then run another install. The breakdown is in the licensing system, not the application itself. Do not run the clean scripts until you have attempted this. If it still fails, then indeed a call to Adobe tech might do wonders...

iTunes cannot work if Quicktime doesn't, so that has to be fixed first.
Have you ever installed any of the following:
ACE & K-Lite mega codecs package, QT alternative, Storm codec, WinAVI video converter
If so the must be uninstalled.
Then or if you don't have them then continue with this;
Download the version of QUicktime that does not include iTunes:

Remove Quicktime using the method for QUicktime in this article:

When you get to the system32 folder, you can delete any file or folder with Quicktime in the name.
Restart your PC and then install the Quicktime you just downloaded.
Check to see if it works and if it does try iTunes.

Windows Vista Ultimate x64 Random B

Quick question I booted up my computer and everything loaded fine Sound was great everything again fine! I went to play world of warcraft and the second I clicked on it BAM! Blue Screen of Death, Dump file created, computer restarted haven't gotten if it to repeat though WEIRD! I did decode the dump file so we know where to start looking.
I have a Xi-Fi Xtermegamer card running latest beta drivers.

I know the ha20x2k.sys is a creative sound component I right clicked on the file and it said creative labs on it

Same thing with Vista 32 bit. No need for a long note from me just to confirm that we have seen this with various set ups and can turn it off and on by just removing or installing the X-Fi with the present drivers.Yes Vista changes things and I can see why Creative is upset but we all knew that Vista was comming for months. Vista is a fact of life and actually we like it enough that we are changing over well ahead of our original schedule.As for the Creative drivers, just give us basic functions and stability, no BSOD's and communicate and we will be far more patient.

Vista Ultimate x64

I have an HP laptop with Windows Vista Ultimate x64. iTunes installs on my PC, but everytime I open it up, this message pops up:
"iTunes has not been properly installed. If you want to burn music to CDs or DVDs, you must reinstall iTunes."
Any thoughts as to why?

The 64 bit Gear drivers you need for burning are not supplied with iTunes. Downloading the 64 bit driver from the Gear site usually fixes this:

Windows vista Ultimate does not recognize ipod

I have Windows Vista Ultimate and whe I plug my 30GB 5G Ipod it asks for the driver. It does not appear nor on explorer nor itunes.
I have itunes 7.1.5 installed.
i did try reseting the ipod but still the same problem.
I did try my Ipod on an XP computer and it works.
have anyone solved this compatibility problem or knows how to solve it?

Java installer in Windows Vista: error 1721

Hi,
I cant install java SE in Windows Vista. I get always this error:
error 1721. There is a probleme with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor.
Anyone knows how I can solve it? I tryed with other java versions but I get the same error.

If all else fails, your Vista could just be screwy.
If you're willing to go that far, and you've exhausted all other options, you could try reformatting and reinstalling Vista. (Or even XP, since it's way more stable. :D)
At any rate, this doesn't seem to be the file's problem, as plenty of people have gotten it working.
Have you installed any ... "distasteful" software on your computer, or tweaked stuff like a hardcore techie? Because it's quite easy to screw with Windows. :)

I had to run the compatability wizard and allow Windows XP SP2 settings with administrator access to correct the issue.
I also lost most of my licensing when I upgraded. Hold off for I-Tunes to work with Vista if you are thinking about upgrading.
And on a side note, I think that the new Windows Media "Experience" in Vista is not all that great.

Live! Cam Voice - Microphone compatibility w/ Windows Vista Ultimate

I recently got the Live! Cam Voice for my computer with Windows Vista Ultimate. And for some reason the built in microphone won't work at all - even the voice recorder, the Yahoo! Messenger in which it was built for and Windows Live Messenger. However the actual webcam works fine. Is there anyway to get the microphone to be compatible with Ultimate?

This should get your itunes store connection working.
Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.

I am trying to use Flash on Windows Vista Ultimate.
Installing the program tells me a mistake "error in the

installer, then just enter your serial when you first run it.
Sounds like a corrupt exe. But yes, make sure and run as
Administrator by right clicking the file.

I have tried to install iTunes most recent version and others earlier with on my HP Pavillion and I keep getting a message that says I will not be able to import or burn CDs because iTunes did not install correctly. VB Script Problems with Windows Vista Ultimate

I have iTunes 7.0.2.16 and when i try to update it i keep getting a message that says:
"iTunes could not be installed becasue visual basic script (VB Script) is not installed or has been disabled. make sure VB Script is installed, turn off script blocking in anti-virus and personal firewall software, re-register VB Script, then install iTunes."
I even get this message when i try to unistall iTunes. I completly uninstalled my antivirus software and removed all firewalls, but i wasnt able to fix the problem.
I visited the iTunes and QuickTime for Windows cannot be installed without Visual Base Script (VBScript) section for help, however, it was unable to solve my problem.
I currently have Windows Vista Ultimate and have been looking for a fix for a while now...any help would be greatly appreciated...
