Disturbing message when upgrading repository

I'm doing some testing of an upgrade from DI 11.5 to version 12.1 in preparation for our development environment upgrade. When upgrading a repository from version 11.5 to 12.1 I get the follow message at the end of the upgrade log:
Adding 12.0.0 functions... (BODI-300001)
Upgrading repository objects (BODI-300071)
Adding Data Services new substitution configuration ... (BODI-300123)
Adding Data Quality new substitution configuration... (BODI-300133)
Adding Data Cleanse transform... (BODI-300125)
Adding Country IDs transform... (BODI-300126)
Adding Global Address Cleanse transform... (BODI-300127)
Adding Global Suggestion List transform... (BODI-300128)
Adding Match transform... (BODI-300129)
Adding Associate transform... (BODI-300130)
Adding USA Regulatory Address Cleanse transform... (BODI-300131)
Adding User Defined transform... (BODI-300132)
Fixing the UI_mapping_text... (BODI-300124)
The local repository upgrade was cancelled. (BODI-300056)
What is the meaning of this message? Does it indicate an error? Should I be concerned?
Logging into the repository with Designer, everything behaves fine and I am able to run a simple job from the repository.

Found this message, and this thread when upgrading 11.7.0.1 repositories to 12.2.1.0. Worryingly the above posts refer to DS 12.1 and service packs that you'd have thought would already be in 12.2.1.0!
I was upgrading about 14 local repositories and 11 central repos and I struggled to find the common error as to why the fabulous "The central repository upgrade was cancelled. (BODI-300022)u201D message appeared. There seemed to be nothing wrong with the repositories and after the upgrade failed DS thought they were 12.2.
Anyway, to cut a long story short, I solved it thus.
*Close the SAPBO Data Services Repository Manager after each upgrade. Reopen for the next upgrade and it works.*
hmmmm.

Any ideas of what might be causing this.
    Thanks.

What does this error mean for my SCOM installation? Is there something that doesn't work now? I try to update agents, but the console doesn't show the new versikon number

  • "iPod Service Failed to Start" message when upgrading iTunes

When upgrading iTunes from Version 7 to the newest version, I got an error message stating "Service, 'iPod Service' failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient priviledges to start system services." So I canceled the download and rolled back to Version 7 again. I did notice that now I'm getting an error message when I start up Version 7, stating that it could not start the iPod service. I just bought an ipod Classic and cannot use it without the latest version of iTunes. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Some anti-virus programs (e.g., McAfee) have this rule that can be invoked under the "maximum protection" settings: PREVENT PROGRAMS REGISTERING AS A SERVICE. If that rule is set to BLOCK, then any attempt to install or upgrade iTunes will fail with an "iPod service failed to start" message.
If you are getting this problem with iTunes, check to see if your anti-virus has this setting and unset it, at least for as long as the iTunes install requires. Exactly how to find the rule and turn it on and off will vary, depending upon your anti-malware software. However, if your anti-virus or anti-malware software produces a log of its activities, examining the log may help you find the problem.
For example, here's the log entry for McAfee:
9/23/2009 3:18:45 PM Blocked by Access Protection rule NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM C:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exe \REGISTRY\MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\iPod Service Common Maximum Protection:Prevent programs registering as a service Action blocked : Create
Note that the log says "Common Maximum Protection: Prevent programs registering as a service". The "Common Maximum Protection" is the location of the rule, "Prevent programs registering as a service" is the rule. I used that information to track down the location in the McAfee VirusScan Console where I could turn the rule off.
After I made the change, iTunes installed without complaint.

  • Error message when upgrading to 7.3.2.6

I just (attempted to) upgrade to 7.3.2.6 (and after the install, it all seems OK for now) - but during the install, I got a "files in use" error message window, mentioning that Windows Explorer was running (Process Id: 432), giving me the option to Retry, Ignore or Exit.
I tried all options - I even Exited and rebooted - and re-upgraded after that, but keep getting the same error... So far iTunes seems to have upgraded and appears to be working - but could the install have missed some components now - and therefore should I expect trouble ahead?

Yes, i had the same error message after upgrading to 7.3.
I am using windows XP - i went to the Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs -> Scrolled to iTunes & clicked on Change (not Remove), then clicked Repair. It all works fine after that.
Search this forum - i hope you find a solution.

  • Error message when upgrading to the latest itunes

i've been attempting to upgrade my old itunes to the latest one, as i have a new ipod which needs the latest progrm to run. it seems to download alright but when i click 'run' at the end of the install it gives the error message -
    invalid drive : F:/
does anyone have any ideas how to make it download? or if not is there a way to make my new ipod run on my older itunes system, thanks.

It is possible that the registry setting for one of your special folders is pointing at a drive that is not available.
Try downloading TweakUI form Microsoft. This lets you set the location of special folders:
It is one of the download here:
    http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx
This Apple article about something else tells you how to use it:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302398
Check that My Documents, My Music and My Pictures are not set to drive f:.
Surpisingly My Pictures is one that is often wrong.

My first inclination is to answer your question --- yes - something is going wrong! I'm sure more specific information will be needed to help you.
Are you getting a specific message? An error code number? Can you describe exactly what you are doing when you get the message?

  • Error message when upgrading iTunes

When I get a notice for Software Upgrade for my eMac (10.4.8), it works for everything except iTunes - I get a message "Please quit iTunes before beginning this update" even though iTunes is closed. I have to reboot the computer or this message recurs. Appreciate suggestions.

Open the Activity Monitor in the /Applications/Utilities/ folder and quit the iTunesHelper process if it's running as well as anything else owned by your account which looks like it relates to iTunes.

I have resolved the issue. Here is what I did to resolve the issue.
Cleaned up the PGP removal by following the steps from Symantecs sitehttp://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH149057
Removed the OS X Install Data Folder (not sure if that was the exact name) from the root of my HD. I noticed it was sitting there and is not normally there. (I think this was the fix)
I also redownloaded ML install from app store just in case.
Ran fresh download and install went according to plan and I am typing this from ML now
Good Luck anyone else with the same issue.

  • Error message when upgrading

I keep getting an error message "there was an error opening the database for the library "/pictures/aperture library.aplibrary".  I have deleted some preference items per other posts and apple online articles but to no avail.  The upgrade stops working on step 7 and then I get the warning message listed above.  Thanks in advance for any help anyone can provide.  I cannot do a rebuild because I can't access that screen.

  • Error message when upgrading to Tiger

    Hello,
I have an iMac G5 running 10.3.9 and I'm finally getting around to upgrading it to tiger. I've installed everything in software update, so I should be completely up to date, and I have all the RAM and hard drive space the apple support page says I need. Whenever I restart my computer with the system install CD, however, the error message appears: "ALERT: This software cannot be installed on this computer" and I can't get any further than that. The very latest firmware updates are for computer running system 9, aren't they? I can't think of why I'm getting this error.

This software cannot be installed on this computer
Rosasharn, welcome, the computer is questioning the validity of your CD. Is it a full retail version of Tiger? Where did you get the CD? What color is the CD? And what does it say?
