  • Multitouch Trackpad issues in Chrome and Firefox

In both Chrome and Firefox, when I do the 3-finger swipe from right to left to go back a page, the window hides instead.
The 3-finger swipe works the way it is supposed to in other programs including safari.
The trackpad also functions as normal in a fresh user account.
which files do I need to remove in order to fix this issue since it is related to my account?

As boydbme pointed out the 3-finger left swipe works in both Chrome and Firefox in a fresh new user account. So the problem lies somewhere in the touch pad settings for his (and my) user account. And the problem is not associated to one specific application - it's all non-Apple applications.
And the weird thing is that it hides the window(s) (not just minimize - it's completely gone) and it changes focus to last active application. Even minimized windows of the application disappears from the dock. But when you click on the application in the dock the windows and minimized windows reappear.
So I will just quote boydbme:
"Which files do I need to remove in order to fix this issue since it is related to my account?"

  • Font issue with Chrome and office and PDF's ect...

    Hi
I went to restore my mac fonts in the "Font book" app as it was taking a while to load up fonts when I wanted to change a font in word and since doing that programs such as word have been playing up especially when I use the equation editor. I've also noticed that google chrome has issues displaying PDF's correct.
    They show up like this
    http://i.gyazo.com/6e702416d076ed13ed881f6bbd2a7949.png
On word, the equation editor is now blank.
Also, my document looks like this before clicking "insert new equation"
    http://gyazo.com/c4391dee5a2b0bf32f86130d88556986
After I insert a new equation the whole document turns like this

If it means anything these programs were running when I restored the font book and have not restarted my macbook pro.

  • Issue opening Chrome and MS Office 2011 with OS X 10.9.3 update

I updated to OS X 10.9.3 on May 30th, and since then I'm unable to open any of the MS Office 2011 applications (installed locally). I also can't open Chrome.
    Anybody else experiencing this?
Any recommendations on how to remedy?
Can I somehow uninstall 10.9.3 to see if that resolves the issue?

I did uninstall Chrome, downloaded again. It still won't open.
And yes, I do get an error message when i try to launch Chrome, Billings (an accounting app I use) and also with all Office apps. It is a really long error message, and it's a different error code every single time.
    I upgraded from 10.9.2. And I have Office 14.3.X (I think 9). I'm guessing b/c I can't even see what version I have right now).
I'm uncertain about what to do at this point. I'm making a back-up using Time Machine so that I have a full backup.
Any advice about what to do>

  • IPhoto having compatibility issues with Chrome and IE

I created a photo album to upload on my website using iPhoto '11. I was successful in uploading and can see the album in Safari. However, if I open the link in Chrome or IE, I just see a blank area where the slideshow should be and the "play slideshow" button is greyed out.
    Please help!
P.S. I have done this before with my iPhoto version 8 and it was never a problem

This is iPhoto for iOS, not OSX.  Despite having the same name, they are completely different programs.  You should repost your question in the iLife/iPhoto area.

Hi can anyone help with this issue regarding my wireless magic mouse? When im on google chrome and scrolling down the page i always have youtube running in the background but the audio cuts/spits/pops can anyone help me with this?

The figures you mention only make sense on your intranet.  Are you still using the same wireless router.  The verizon one is somewhat limited as far as max wireless-n performace.  For one thing it only has a 2.4 radio.   I like many people who wanted wireless-n performance before they even added a wireless-n gigabit router, have my own handling my wireless-n network.

  • Stage3D and Flash issues with Chrome

I was playing The Last Stand Dead Zone earlier with all of the settings i nthe flash game set to max and now I HAVE to play it on the lowest setting. Also my Nvidia 765m is apparantly now supported by Stage3D or whatever it is. I really have no idea what to do. This page also has the wrong info about my operating system http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/flash-player-games-video-or.html it says that mine is 32-bit when it is 64-bit http://puu.sh/6derE.png I want to play my game and I am very pissed at the moment because I cannot.

    More issues with Chrome.
All of a sudden one day I noticed two problem:
I cannot login to SCN via Chrome.
    SCN search does not funciton.
If I click on any regular SCN link from e.g. an email notification, the screen gets stuck with a blank screen in authentication mode.
Similarly, if I enter a search term in SCN search, I get a blank screen.
Also, if I click "Login" in the masthead, the screen gets stuck looking like this:
I've cleared cached, reinstalled the browser, and ensured I'm using the proper certificate by eliminating all but the one certificate.
    Any suggestions?

  • Strange YouTube issue on Safari (and Chrome)

This is a strange/hard to explain problem, but here it goes.
I usually use Chrome, and yesterday I noticed while watching videos on YouTube that the way videos play looks very jerky and uneven, even when I have nothing else open that could possibly be making my computer run slowly. Oddly, if I move my mouse around while a video is playing, this issue resolves.
I also noticed that the videos themselves move down if I scroll down the page. This is kind of hard to describe unless you can see what I am talking about, but its as though the videos follow my frame of view. They aren't fixed in the box they play in on the top of the page. If I scroll halfway down the box where the video is playing, the top of the video is still at the top of my page, and the bottom half is what is hidden (as thought it is "behind" where the uploader info, top comments, etc. are).
Finally, if I start to type in the search bar at the top of YouTube, the bottom half of the suggested searches are hidden, as though they are behind the video.
All of this happens on both Chrome and Safari, so it doesn't seem to be browser specific. I suspected a Flash issue to I uninstalled and reinstalled Flash, but had no luck. I also uninstalled and reinstalled Chrome but still couldn't fix the issue.
Any idea what's causing this to happen? Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Ok. Things are still acting strange.
I logged out of my account and logged in as a Guest, went to YouTube in Safari and clicked on a video, and everything was fine. I clicked on another video just to make sure and there was a black box where the video should be. I couldn't right click to see Flash settings, I couldn't do anything, it was just black. I logged in and out as a Guest several times and the same thing happened. After the first video, where everything works, its like Safari loses the ability to play Flash on YouTube.
I moved on to the Disk Repair and did what you suggested (it said the disk was working fine), restarted, and logged in as a Guest first. YouTube worked perfectly fine, even after the first video. Then I logged back in to my account, had the same YouTube problems in my original post, logged out and back into Guest, and had the same problem where the first video works and then after that just a black box.
Sorry for the long explanation. Just want to give as complete a picture as possible. This is all very weird to me because I seem to be having these issues out of the blue... It seems to have something to do with the settings on my account, considering things got messed up on Guest only AFTER I had logged in to my account.

  • Are there any known compatibility issues with iMac and Google Chrome?

Does anyone know of any compatibility issues with iMac and Google chrome. A Facebook friend who is a photographer posted recently that Chrome had ruined his iMac. He stead that it ran an update on itself that made safari and chrome unusable - slow running overall. In the end he had to reinstall his OS.
Is anyone aware of this and should I un-install Chrome off my Mac?
    Thanks,
    S.

There is nothing official but your post will attract a variety of personal experiences.   I once loaded Chrome and found myself with the dreaded MacKeeper malware, loads of pop ups and conflicts with my system.   Part of the problem is the huge range of add ons you are tempted to  take on, many of which are not as strictly tested as Apple extensions.   I would say, unless you have a specific reason, leave it alone.   The best browser is Firefox and for Macs, Safari is OK.

I have macbook pro and am on OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 . I am having lot of warning message on my browser that my computer is infected with malware/spyware and use mackeeper. How do I solve this issue . This is happening more on chrome and Safari browser

There is no need to download anything to solve this problem. You may have installed a variant of the "VSearch" ad-injection malware. Follow Apple Support's instructions to remove it.
If you have trouble following those instructions, see below.
Malware is always changing to get around the defenses against it. This procedure works as of now, as far as I know. It may not work in the future. Anyone finding this comment a few days or more after it was posted should look for a more recent discussion, or start a new one.
The VSearch malware tries to hide itself by varying the names of the files it installs. To remove it, you must first identify the naming pattern.
Triple-click the line below on this page to select it, then copy the text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination  command-C:
    /Library/LaunchDaemons
    In the Finder, select
              Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
A folder named "LaunchDaemons" may open. Look inside it for two files with names of the form
              com.something.daemon.plist
    and
               com.something.helper.plist
Here something is a variable string of characters, which can be different in each case. So far it has always been a string of letters without punctuation, such as "cloud," "dot," "highway," "submarine," or "trusteddownloads." Sometimes it's a meaningless string such as "e8dec5ae7fc75c28" rather than a word. Sometimes the string is "apple," and then you must be especially careful not to delete the wrong files, because many built-in OS X files have similar names.
If you find these files, leave the LaunchDaemons folder open, and open the following folder in the same way:
    /Library/LaunchAgents
In this folder, there may be a file named
              com.something.agent.plist
where the string something is the same as before.
If you feel confident that you've identified the above files, back up all data, then drag just those three files—nothing else—to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator login password. Close the Finder windows and restart the computer.
Don't delete the "LaunchAgents" or "LaunchDaemons" folder or anything else inside either one.
The malware is now permanently inactivated, as long as you never reinstall it. You can stop here if you like, or you can remove two remaining components for the sake of completeness.
    Open this folder:
    /Library/Application Support
If it has a subfolder named just
               something
where something is the same string you saw before, drag that subfolder to the Trash and close the window.
Don't delete the "Application Support" folder or anything else inside it.
    Finally, in this folder:
    /System/Library/Frameworks
there may an item named exactly
                v.framework
It's actually a folder, though it has a different icon than usual. This item always has the above name; it doesn't vary. Drag it to the Trash and close the window.
Don't delete the "Frameworks" folder or anything else inside it.
If you didn't find the files or you're not sure about the identification, post what you found.
If in doubt, or if you have no backups, change nothing at all.
The trouble may have started when you downloaded and ran an application called "MPlayerX." That's the name of a legitimate free movie player, but the name is also used fraudulently to distribute VSearch. If there is an item with that name in the Applications folder, delete it, and if you wish, replace it with the genuine article from mplayerx.org.
This trojan is often found on illegal websites that traffic in pirated content such as movies. If you, or anyone else who uses the computer, visit such sites and follow prompts to install software, you can expect more of the same, and worse, to follow. Never install any software that you downloaded from a bittorrent, or that was downloaded by someone else from an unknown source.
In the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences, select the General tab. The radio button marked Anywhere  should not be selected. If it is, click the lock icon to unlock the settings, then select one of the other buttons. After that, don't ignore a warning that you are about to run or install an application from an unknown developer.
Then, still in System Preferences, open the App Store or Software Update pane and check the box marked
Install system data files and security updates (OS X 10.10 or later)
    or
Download updates automatically (OS X 10.9 or earlier)
    if it's not already checked.

  • Anyone having issues with Expose and Google Chrome?

    Here is what's happening:
This only happens when Chrome is opened, the windows display oddly when in Expose.
For example, when two non Google Chrome applications are open, it show one on top and one on the bottom. When Chrome is open, (and only a total of two applications open) it shows one window to the right, another in the middle, and the left is a large blank area.
The same thing happens with three applications. When Chrome is open, the windows are top left, top right, and bottom right. When close, it's two at the top and one in the middle at the bottom. This is very odd behavior and I can replicate it on two machines very easily.
Once I quit Chrome, everything works fine again.

It looks fine to me. Here are three apps (Firefox, Chrome, System Preferences) running with a Time Machine backup in progress...
Here's Time Machine, Chrome and NetNewsWire...
And Time Machine, Firefox and NetNewsWire...

  • How to add a hand tool (grab the page and drag) function on Chrome and firefox pdf viewer?

To clarify, hand tool is a function for user click on the pdf and dragging around , that is used to replace the scroll bar navigating .
The problem is, by default the Chrome and firefox pdf viewer do not have that function and I would like allow the user to drag the page.
A workaround is to use a jquery plugin (grab to pan https://github.com/Rob--W/grab-to-pan.js in my case) with an embed object (pdf viewer). When I maximum the size of the pdf and user drag the embed object.
The problem I have encounter is
    1) When using chrome/ firefox, the pdf content do not fit to the page but auto resize by default even I have set the adobe pdf open parameter , using iframe.
    2) The jquery seems conflict with the firefox pdf viewer, it works smoothly on Chrome but not firefox.
Here is the source code, you may download the plugin from the link mention above and have a look. Don't forget to put a '1.pdf' along with the source file. Thanks

  • Horizontal Spry Menu appears as bullet point list in IE8 and below - fine in firefox, chrome and IE9

This one is breaking my brain! I have an horizontal spry menu bar in my website that renders correctly in all browsers except ie 8 and below where it appears like an unordered list - almost like no CSS had been applied at all. You can check out the site here http://www.webhance.com.au. The spry css looks like this:

    Julie

Hi Gramps - thanks for getting back to me - I took advantage of your advice to others with some other issues I had and they worked a charm so I was really hoping to hear from you :-)
Unfortunately removing media="only screen and (min-width: 769px) from the css call didn't resolve the problem.  Check it out on my index page www.webhance.com.au/index.html Any other ideas?
    Cheers, Julester

  • Need a chrome and safari hack to eliminate white space, or?

    Hi,
This page renders fine in IE8 and Firefox, but in Chrome and Safari there is white space before the Welcome bar.

    Any thoughts?
    Thanks!

  • Div display issue

I am having an issue with the index page at  http://http://www.pixelsandpaper.com/stANNES/St%20annes/index.html  which islocated in a temporary location.  I have set the container div to 960 px wide and have set the left and right margins to 20%, however, when the page displays in Chrome there is a marked displacement to the left of the screen.  The other 2 pages in the site have the same settings but appear just fine.  In other browsers the left display is not as evident but it is still there. I am using Dreamweaver CS6
Perhaps someone can tell me what the problem is. I appreciate your comments.
    Pat

View the source code on the two different pages... Home and Features for example.
CSS properties for .container are repeated in several places. I'd recommend that you consolidate all those various .container rules into one place.
    Anyway, on the Features page you have the margin-top set at 25px;
    .container {
    width: 960px;
    margin-right: auto;
    margin-left: auto;
    margin-top: 25px;
If you have all the rules for .container in just one place, it's a lot easier to troubleshoot.
