Dividing a project into two projects

How do I divide my project into two projects so that I can burn it to a DVD? I have 2hrs 40 mins and this is too long. thanks!

Go to the Project Library View and select your project.
Then FILE/DUPLICATE PROJECT and give the duplicate a name like "your name - part 1".
Then duplicate it again and give the duplicate a name like "your name - part 2"
Now you can open "part 1" as a project and delete everything that is in part 2.
Open "part 2" as a project and delete everything that is in part 1.

    Hi prashanth,
This we can do with javascripting but the problem is it squeezes the dashboard page and changes the colour of dashboard. So better to go for drop down of page items as you have 15 pages

  • How to divide my HDD into two partitions ?

I have the original recovery DVD put in my notebook and I dont know how to re-partition my HDD.
I want to divide it into two partitons (primary, and Extended?

    Hi
If you want to create second partition on the HDD I would really recommended using an 3rd party utility like partitions magic 8
This tool is amazing. You can create and manage the partitions on the HDD while Windows is running.
But you could also create a partition using the Recovery CD.
In such case you have to boot from the recovery CD and under Setup or expert mode.
There simply type a size of the first partition and the Recovery CD will create an 1 partition on the HDD.
After the OS installation you have to go to the disk management and there you can make the second partition visible.
PS: The usage of the recovery CD will erase the whole HDD!!! therefore I prefer the usage of the PM8

  • I need help dividing an image into two equal parts in Adobe Illustrator CC--ASAP!!!

I need help dividing a single, already created image into 2 equal parts...Am getting nowhere so far

Hi Willi, thanks so much for responding! Below is the image I need to divide in half. The left half where it says "Click here for the definition" links to a landing page where people can read the definition of the Hebrew Word. The right half links to an audio recording of the Hebrew word being spoken aloud. I am trying to figure out how to use the scissors or knife tool in Adobe Illustrator and am having no luck. Plus I believe there's a way to include URLs on each separated part, but I can't get past figuring out how to cut it. My background is not graphic design

  • How to divide one catalog into two?

I have a question that I can not find an answer to and hope I can get the help here.
    Lightroom 5.
I have one catalog now and would like two.  The reason is I have two things that I shoot.  I do studio work for my clients and also do landscape photography for myself and for sale.  I would like to keep the two catalogs seperated.  One reason for this is when I use the star system to organize my photos then do a search for say 3 stars it brings up my portrait work and landscape work. I have all my files organized on my hard drive and simply want them to stay where they are but would like 2 seperate catalogs to reference.  I can not figure out how to do this.  Is anyone out there able to explain this to me?  Thanks

    davidKheaton wrote:
So if I understand correctly, if I make a collection of all my portrait work then export as new catalog it will create the new catalog and keep all the keywords, collections etc and leave the files where they are?  Then if I do the same thing to all the landscape images then just delete the original catalog it is all good?
Well, there are a few assumptions that only you can verify. The major assumption is that all of your photos is in either one or the other category, that there aren't any photos in a 3rd category, and that you can segregate the photos properly. Then all is good ... except ... in my opinion, you are now doing unnecessary work to avoid the benefits of Lightroom
So if I understand correctly, if I make a collection of all my portrait work ...
I still recommend you stop right there, make a collection for landscape, make a collection for portrait, and not bother with splitting the catalog; your collections give you a virtual split, which is just as effective as actually splitting the catalog, but its less work, and it eliminates the possibility that you accidentally import a photo into the wrong one of your two future catalogs.

    Hi Sankar,
The contextual panel is a UI element like any other.Once you insert the ContextualPanel UI element, you can insert child UI elements of FreeContextualArea, NavigationList, and ViewSwitch.
For Contextual Panel.. please check WDR_TEST_EVENTS.

I have old video clips in Photoshop Elements Organizer v12 for Mac.  I want to divide some of those single clips into 2 or 3 separate clips, each shown separately in Organizer.  I can divide the clips in Premiere Elements Editor 12 and save them as "Projects" - but I can't find any way to get those divided clips back into Organizer.  Does anyone know whether that can be done?  Many thanks for your thoughts.

What about Google Drive? And just share the folder with the family members.

  • How do I split a project in IMovie into two projects?  When I try to burn a DVD RDL in IDVD, it tells me the movie is too long.

I am running  IMovie 8.0.6.  (OS X Mavericks 10.9.5) How do I split a project into two projects?  When I share it in Media Browser to IDVD, and try to burn a DVD- RDL, it keeps telling me the project is too long.  Do I split it in IDVD and how do I do that?

AppleMan  Thanks very much for the information, however I could't make it work. I followed your instructions to the letter, in fact I tried every which-way. I created a dedicated file into which I copied and pasted the project from "package contents"  but it was still greyed out when I went to retrieve it. I also found that the file size was reduced to only a few Kb.  Any further step-by-step instructions would be appreciated as I am obviously doing something wrong.  Babowa  It appears that in imovie everything has to be "finalised" before it can be used or shared elsewhere in the same way as a disk has to be to be played elsewhere. Funnily enough an MOV file I converted to Mp4 was not greyed out and I was able to import it.... an exercise I am not keen on because of resolution loss during conversion

  • How to split a PE1 project into two smaller projects?

I have a 1hr 36 min. project in PE1.  I want to split it into two different projects of about 48 min. each and burn two DVDs.  My intent is to get a better MPEG resolution for these smaller projects.
Can I select half of the timeline, cut it and paste it into a new project?  Would the effects be preserved?  I have a week of work invested in this project and I don’t want to screw it up!
    Thanks
    Fred J.

    FredJ,
    Welcome to the forum.
I agree with both Neale and Steve, though it might at first appear that they are saying two different things.
The bit-rate in the Transcoding to MPEG-2 will be determined by the Duration of the Timeline and the capacity of the blank media, whether DVD-5, or DVD-9. In most versions of PrE, this bit-rate will be a function of the Quality Slider, but the ultimate bit-rate for the combined video and audio is set in the DVD-specs. One cannot exceed about 8 b/s.
Now, with your Duration, there might be a very slight increase in the bit-rate, were you to take Neale's advice and break your Project into two parts, however, I think that his advice to study the result of your entire Timeline is good, as I doubt that one could tell the differences, unless you have a great deal of fast motion, of either the camera, or the subject, and then it's likely that the quality would appear to be the same to the human eye.
Steve is correct in that the result will have to be within the DVD-specs, and will only be 720x480, at up to that max. bit-rate. That is as good as it gets.
For the ultimate test, I would take Neale's suggestion on Burning to Folder one step further. Once that is done, you can first test your Project with a DVD software program on your computer. BUT, be aware that you are viewing on a higher-rez, progressive computer monitor, and its rez will exceed that of a TV and that of a DVD-Video disc. Thus, it is not a perfect test. To get an idea of how the DVD will look on a set-top player, hooked to a TV, you can either, also burn to a DVD RW (rewritable disc) to test on a set-top player, or you can use the free burning utility, ImgBurn, to burn to a DVD RW and test. The reason for the Rewritable media is so that you can reuse it for testing. You will NOT be using this disc for delivery, but just for testing. Now, if you feel that very slight decrease in bit-rate is noticed, you can go back to his suggestion on how to split the Project, and then produce a multi-disc. set for the Project.
Also, the ultimate quality and also playability of the DVD-Video will be enhanced if you use quality blank media. I strongly recommend Verbatim, or Taiyo Yuden blank media. Brands like Memorex, TDK, recent Ritek and ALL "store-brands," are to be avoided. One is also best served by buying slower speed media, as PrE will measure the speed of the media and the speed of the drive and try to get you the fastest possible burn. It does not allow you to set the speed of the burn manually. Most people feel that stepping down from a max. burn speed produces a better DVD. I routinely will drop the burn speed (in other software) to about 1/2 of the max., and have had thousands of perfect DVD's. One can set the burn speed in the above mentioned ImgBurn utility.
To distill the above: try it and see if your Project isn't perfect now, and if not, then break it apart into two segments. I doubt that you could tell the difference.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Best way to divide iDVD project onto 2 DVDs?

I have an iDVD project that I've spent sooooooo much time on, and after burning to DVD, the quality was awful (zigzaginess with movement in the shadow areas, etc etc).
The project duration is 80:44 minutes. DVD capacity says 4.4GB of 4.2 GB.
So would the best thing be to divide it into two DVDs? Part 1 and Part 2? Do I just make a copy of the file, and delete chapters 1-25 on one and chapters 26-51 on the other? Is it that simple?

No, a standard DVD-R disk can hold 120 minutes, so you are well within the disk capacity. The file size has nothing to do with it. It is running time that counts. Also, 4.2 GB = 4.7 GB. It is just being expressed differently. But none of this has any bearing on the quality of your final DVD. You are well within capacity. It is not necessary, nor would it be helpful, to divide your project into two DVDs.
If your still images look jaggy, it probably was because you used the Share menu function to share your iMovie project to iDVD and when the prompt came up to render or proceed anyway, you selected render. Don't do that. Always select Proceed Anyway. That way iDVD will do the rendering and it does a much better job than iMovie. iMovie's rendering, in fact, is destructive and can ruin the appearance of your still images on the final DVD.
Instead of using the Share function, I find it best to drag the iMovie project icon (the one with the star on it) into the edge of your iDVD main menu window, being careful not to put it in a drop zone. Your movie will then import into iDVD and iDVD will handle all of the rendering. Your results will be much better.
Then save your iDVD project as a disk image (an option on the file menu) and burn your DVD from the Disk Image using the Disk Utility app on your Mac. That usually yields the best results.
Also, for projects between 60 minutes and 120 minutes duration, you should burn using the Best Quality setting rather than best performance.
If your moving video clips look like they have moving combed lines through them when the clip depicts hard edged images or parallel lines, that is due to interlacing. iDVD is designed to produce projects that play on an interlaced TV. If you play it on a progressive screen TV, or on your progressive computer screen, you may get the wavy lines that come from playing interlaced material on a progressive screen. Splitting your project into two projects will not help that.

  • How do I divide a large catalogue into two smaller one on the same computer?

How can I divide a large catalogue into two smaller ones on the same computer?  Can I just create a new catalogue and move files and folders from the old one to the new one?  I am using PSE 12 in Windows 7.

    A quick update....
I copied the folder in ~Library/Mail/V2/Mailboxes that contains all of my local mailboxes over to the same location in the new account. When I go into mail, the entire file structure is there, however it does not let me view (or search) any of the messages. The messages can be accessed through the Finder, though.
I tried to "Rebuild" the local mailboxes, but it didn't seem to do anything. Any advice would be appreciated.

  • Dividing Genrated PDF no  of  pages into two parts

    Dear Friends,
I have requirement in which i need to divide total number output pdf pages into two parts.
    E.g. If there are 10 pages Then   10 / 2 = 5
Before generation of pdf file from smartform it automatically divide by 2 and then show these files.
    How to do this?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Ravi Grover

    Hi Rob,
when you call the function module of the smartform you have the output parameter:
    DOCUMENT_OUTPUT_INFO-TDFPAGES
It is the number of pages of the smartform.
Then... you can call the funtion module of smartform two times  :
1rst with the input field OUTPUT_OPTIONS-TDPAGESLCT from 1 to number of pages / 2
2nd  with the input field OUTPUT_OPTIONS-TDPAGESLCT from  number of pages / 2 to number of pages
    And generate both pdf.
    Bye!
