Divorced and need to move stuff to my ex's account

Hello all,
I am sorry if this is somewhere else, but I have searched high and low and can't get a straight answer.
I have an appleid that my wife and I have always used. Now we are getting divorced and I want her to keep all of the content for herself. Part of this is because our daughter has lots of movies and music and I want my ex to control all of that content.
I changed the appleid, password and emai in itunesl- but somehow all of that is still associated with my original appleid on itunes and online. Sometimes her appleid comes up, but I have to use the password still associated with my appleid. When I try to change the password for her appleid and log on under hers, I get an "incorrect ID or Password" message. BUT if I use my appleid with the SAME password I tried to give her appleid- it all works.
Is my appleid somehow in the background of all of this stuff?
How do I get HER appleid associated with all the stuff on our computer under iTunes? I didn't think it would be this darn hard to be a nice guy! Thanks for any good advice.

WRG,
Items purchased from the iTunes Store are permanently associated with the account from which they were originally purchased. Apple does not provide any way to change this.
Since you want her to take control of the existing content, you need to give her control of the existing account. Let her put in her own password and billing information, and going forward you will have nothing else to do with the account.

• ASA 5505 Failure replaced and need to move the license key?

Can someone point me in the right direction? My ASA 5505 died due to a power surge and I swapped it with a spare. I had Security Plus and a 50 user license and need to move the license keys from the failed ASA 5505 to the new one. I kept both my emails with the activation keys, but not sure how I get this transferred? Thanks in advance.
Joe

I think this is totally unacceptable. For anyone else who uses a 5505 at home and has bought licenses and the hardware out of their own pocket, the idea here should be that you've already bought the hardware and the license. Seems obvious, right?
Yes I can see the license being device specific if not only because that's the way you've designed your licensing activation schema; but if I've just had your product fail and bought another replacement, there should be an understanding or agreement between Cisco and the user that we can reinstate any licenses we've already bought.
Do you really believe it's fair to make someone buy something from you twice, something that they've already bought from you? Do you actually believe that? I believe that the people in the Cisco Licensing department would agree with my viewpoint and I have a pending case with them for this issue right now. I will post my result here.
Make your products last and perhaps I can give credence to your licensing beliefs, until then your products fail and so does your licensing logic.

• Hi, just got a new computer and need to move my library from the old one to the new one. Does anyone know how to do this or where I can get the information? Thanks!!

I just got a new computer and need to move my itunes library from my old computer to the new computer. Does anyone know how to do this or where I can get the information? Thanks!

If you Google ipod nano 6th generation manual, you can download the PDF manual. Here's a quote from page 19:
Transfer purchased content to another computer:
1 Open iTunes on the other computer and choose Store > Authorize This Computer.
2 Connect iPod nano to the newly authorized computer.
3 In iTunes, choose File > Transfer Purchases from iPod.
Songs that are not from the iTunes store can be copied to the new computer, and you just have to do File>Add to Library to get them into iTunes. And if you don't plan to continue using your old computer, you should deauthorize it because you only get 5 authorizations for iTunes store purchases, and this will cancel out the authorization on the old computer.

• I just upgraded to iMovie 10.0.1, latest release and need to move my projects and events to an external attached hard drive. i do not see any hard drive icons in this release. How do I do this?

I just upgraded to OSX Mavericks and also the lastest release of iMovie. The version says 10.0.1, but is it the latest release as of 10/14/2013. I need to free up disc space on my iMac hard drive and move the contents of iMovie libraries to an attached external drive already functioning on my system. I need to move both events and projects and keep all intact and related. I have seen disc drives in the previous version of iMovie, but I do not in this one. How do I move these items? I am in desperate need for disc space.

You can create a brand new Library under File Menu>Open Library>New...
Create the new library on the external hard drive. Then drag all the Events/Projects folders into that Library. Close the Library, quit iMovie 10.x. Now test the new Library by opening iMovie again and see that all the Events/Projects are there in the New Library. You can now safely delete or close the exisitng Library file as those are now duplicates of the real Library sitting on the external hard drive.
Another way to do this is find the exisitng Library file, and simply drag it to the external hard drive in the Mac Finder (disk to disk copy of the Library file, by drag and dropping). Then go back into iMovie, File Menu>Open Library>Other... then naivgate out to the external hard drive and choose the Library you moved within the Finder.
The new iMovie 10.x is much more friendly to use the Finder to run and gun and move stuff at will. It used to be the case the Library file had to be completely managed within iMovie and doing Finder copies would break them. Now it's more flexible in that it works the way most people used to think it should work (doing drag and drop in the Finder)

• Need the new tab icon and need to move home page icon

Need what I had on previous versions of Firefox. Need new tab icon next to address bar, it is not under customize. Need to move home page icon to the same place. It is very annoying to have it on the right side the of web page, need to have it on the left side.

You can find the New Tab button showing as a '+' on the Tab bar.
You can open the Customize window and drag the New Tab button that shows as a plus sign (+) from the Tab bar on another toolbar and it will become a regular toolbar button like the New Tab button that you have in Firefox 3 versions.
If you can't find the New Tab button then click the "Restore Default Set" button in the Customize window.
If you want the New Tab button at the far right end of the Tab bar then place a flexible space to the left of it.

• Drive where BOE is almost maxed out - need to move stuff. What and How?

Hey Everybody,
I'm running BOE 3.1 SP3. I did an out of the box installation directly onto my server. I've been running fine for almost a year now. I have 10+ report writers and thousands of reports/instances on the server now.
What I didn't anticipate was just how fast the drive that I had installed on would fill up. I'm almost at max capacity. I have a new, bigger drive in place. Now I just need to know what I can copy safely to that drive and what needs to change in my build to minimize downtime.
I've seen that I can move the repository and change the settings on the INPUTFILEREPOSITORY and OUTPUTFILEREPOSITORY servers to point at the new location.
Can anybody point me to another message thread or to some documentation to do this?

Steps to do this correctly (lesson learned from a bad experience with this !):
1. In the CMC, stop ALL of the servers except the CMS.
2. COPY the entire file repository (input and output) to the new location. DO NOT CUT AND PASTE!!! The original folders have to be available in order to update the file store locations.
3. In the CMC, go to the Input File Repository Server and change the path to the file store. NOTE: If your new location is on the network, you MUST use a full UNC path, you CANNOT map the drive!
4. Do the same thing for the Output File Repository Server.
5. Start the Input and Output File Repository Servers. Make sure they stay started!
6. Turn on the rest of your servers and test various reports - run schedules, view/refresh reports, view older instances.
If everything checks out ok, you can delete your original file store folders.

• Help! Old computer HD failed and need to move files on IPOD to new comptuer

Does anyone know how to do this? I just got a new computer and i'd like to move the music from my ipod to the new computer, but the itunes is not allowing me to do this. Is there anyway to accomplish this? I cant access the old computer since this HD is dead. I'm not very technically inclined, so step by step instructions would be super helpful. THANKS SO MUCH

Connect your iPod to your computer. If it is set to update automatically you'll get a message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod. Your iPod should appear in the iTunes source list from where you can change the update setting to manual and use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Also when using most of the utilities listed below your iPod needs to be enabled for disc use, changing to manual update will do this by default. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button: Managing content manually on iPod
Once you are safely connected there are a few things you can do to restore your iTunes from the iPod. If you have any iTMS purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. A paragraph on it has been added to this article: Transfer iTunes Store purchases using iPod
The transfer of non iTMS content such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there is a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows. The procedure is a bit involved also it was written long before iTunes 7 so it requires a little adaptation as the iPod preferences are no longer in the location described. Also it won't transfer playlists or videos as far as I know. However if you're interested it's posted in this thread: MacMuse - iPod to iTunes
If you prefer something more automated then there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, this is just a small selection of what's available, they are generally quite straightforward. You can also read reviews of some of them here: Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes
TuneJack Windows Only
iPod2PC Windows Only
iGadget Windows Only
iDump Windows Only
YamiPod Mac and Windows Versions
Music Rescue Mac & Windows
iPodCopy Mac and Windows Versions
Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync. I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up in case you have problems again. Relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay.

• HT1449 i have a new lap top and need to move my itunes lib

i have a new laptop how do i move my itunes liberery over

Do not do what the document that led you here tells you to do. It, as it clearly states, only moves your media, not your library which is more than just a folder of music files.
Quick answer if you use iTunes' default preferences settings: Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive. Open iTunes and immediately hold down the option (alt) key (shift on Windows) so you get a prompt to select a library, then guide it to the 'iTunes Library.itl' file in the moved iTunes folder.
If you put the copied iTunes folder in the default location of Macintosh HD > Users > *User Name* > Music then you don't even need to start with the option key held down, iTunes will automatically look for it there. (Make sure there isn't anything already in the iTunes folder there that you want to keep since you will be replacing it with the one you are moving.)
