Divx to mp4 converter

Hello guys I recenty got a few videos that are in divx. I would like them to be conveted into mp4.
I have tried to do that in my quicktime pro that I bought but it wont open any divx. Please help, and I want a free converter or at least a 30 day trial version.

Quicktime does open divx files.
Go to the divx site and download the free divx package-it includes the divx codec plugin for quicktime.
You can also download the free plugin of perian here: http://perian.org/
Perian adds divx, xvid, AC3 etc. ad nauseum support to quicktime.
After installing either-should be able to open divx files and convert them with quicktime pro.

  • Video problems - mp4, DivX, QuickTime compatibility, converting m2t

At first my Mac didn't recognize AVI files natively in QuickTime, but VLC could play them. I installed DivX and now it will play AVI, .mov and .mp4 converted from an m2t stream (using VisualHub and MPEG StreamClip), and most other formats, however, certain *.mp4 files that were working before now no longer work in Quick Look or QuickTime. As far as I can tell, they are all videos converted from YouTube with TubeSock. What could be causing this? Before DivX, QuickTime played them; now, they're simply plain white videos with the sound intact.

Can you run get info on the files in quicktime player? It might be worth uninstalling DivX and trying Perian instead.
If you prefer to get to the bottom of the issue instead of just working around it, dig up the video on Youtube again, re-download and re-convert. See if it happens again.
If it does, go back to the youtube page again and open the activity window in safari. Here you will find an entry with a drop down arrow for each tab or window you have open. They are all labelled with their URLs. Find the YT page and click the drop arrow. This will give you a load more YT URLs. You are looking for one with .flv in it (not necessarily at the end). Click this one to highlight it, then copy it. Then open the downloads window and paste into it. The flash video will now download. (This is what Tubesock is doing for you.)
Try converting the .flv again with Visual Hub or Streamclip. If it still goes wrong at least you have eliminated Tubesock as the culprit.

  • For when a format or update of Video (Divx or MP4) Good for Zen V

Already that this subject this very written, but never is a solution for the problem of many users.
We trusted its company to buy a reproducer able to reproduce videos AVI, and not a format DIB who does not know anybody, that no program uses and is impossible to turn. The program of you, is bad, the archi'ves end up much weighing (but of .5 GB or more) cannot be changed the resolution, does not have options. My question, if it mounts he himself system that Zen M, because the V extra is not able to reproduce but formats, only DIB who is very bad. I request compatibility with Divx, Xvid, MP4, although we must lose something of capacity of the reproducer for one better update of codec, s I expose 3 possible solutions to you: - A Software de Converted with but options, possibility of manipulating the final quality, the resolution, the time, that allows to reduce the final weight. - A Software like the present one, but improved, allows that the video is codified, conserving at least the original weight. - Update of the Software of the Reproducer Zen V Extra, with greater compatibility of formats and codecs of audio video and, like for example Divx, Xvid, MP4, MTV, auque we must sacrifice final capacity of the reproducer. (up to 50 Mb could be sacrificed for the one best one of compatibility) And surely that you with the human equipment can remove some solution soon. I would like to see an update soon to solve this problem, that spoils so much the reproducer. Desire that communicates to me if the problem has been solved and they send the direction to me with the solution, this it is a message for the official moderators of creative and people in charge of the development of projects of creative. To pardon if this solved but to nonencounter the solution to me. To pardon me by the writing, this translated to the English by GOOGLE.
    Greetings.

Yes, as a matter of fact I did see that article...and I believe I tried everything that it suggested. And other sites that I visited kind of made me think its something reading wrong, because at first I thought it was simply the hard drive that needed to be replaced, but then when i swapped with a good one and still had the same issue, I realized that it could be several things. But not knowing the complete ins and outs of the construction, maybe I did something incorrectly. Can anyone tell me how to reformat with a windows disk or something. Because at times I can get it to mount, it just seems to be a game and cat and mouse. One thing works, when the other won't. I regained hope when forcing into disk mode was successful. Not sure if that was false hope or not. But thanx for the suggestion.

  • M4v to mp4 converter

whats the best FREE m4v to mp4 converter for mac osx? I have some m4v's that i want to put in iDVD.

That's odd. I was able to find this, which should be able to convert the files. However, it's shareware. http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/video/ivcd.html I also found this one, which is freeware: http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/video/mpegstreamclip.html
I also found this tutorial with a linked download. http://forums.macnn.com/showthread.php?t=293898
I know you asked for free software, but this was all I could find. If you can't find anything else that works you may have to try demos and shareware. Also, I don't know if any of these apps will be able to convert your files, because many video codecs share the same file extension.
I have one more question for you. What happens when you try to use the M4V files with iDVD? If push comes to shove you may be able to import the video files into iMovie and export them to QuickTime or iDVD. However, this may take some time, and it will only work if iMovie can import the files. Good luck and report back soon.
Video can be a real pain in the neck....

  • Quality fast lossless AVCHD to MP4 converter recommendation?

    Snagged a Panasonic X920 3chip CMOS
AVCHD format.     Recommend a RELIABLE , no-loss ( or little) AVCHD to MP4 converter?
    Ive got MacXDVD coverter.
I dont wanna mess around all day looking for a quality converter.
I ask the gods of video for a high recommendation based upon experience in this arena.

Check the video or audio parameters whether set as same as your original video.
If it always mess your video, you'd better try some better alternatives like iFunia AVCHD video converter or Voilabits video converter ...
    Good luck!

  • Using iMovie - looking for mp4 converter

    Hi,
I am looking for a .mov - mp4 converter, as I can't open my .mov files from my cam in iMovie.
Does anyone know a good freeware program?
I found Xilisoft and 4media converter, but they are not for free - trial version converts only 5 minutes or if it's shorter only half of the file.

  • Mp4 converted video file is missing audio codec

I have several avi. files on my computer which were converted to mp4. using videora software. A few of these converted mp4. files then had no audio when I tried to play them on my Ipod. I am confused as to how to add the audio codec back into the video files. Do I have to install this to avi. then convert to mp4., or is there some audio codec which will apply directly to mp4. so they do not have to be reconverted? What is the procedure at this point? Thanks for your help in advance.

First thing to do is find out if Videora supports whatever audio codec the AVI uses.
If it supposedly does, write it off as one of the many bugs with videora and get a different transcoder that supports the audio codec.
Outside of having good knowledge of video production and the right tools-there is no easy way to do what you want.

  • Anyone stumbled across a decent WMV MP4 converter? (Mac)

I've recently gotten my new 5G iPod, quite a machine, and so far I've used converters such as MoviePod to create my iPod-formatted movies. However, I have a few movies in the Windows Media Video format that I'd like to convert, but none of the applications I've tried support the format properly. These include applications such as MoviePod, Toast 7 Titanium, MoviesformyiPod, FFmpegX, Quicktime Pro, and iSquint.
I'm aiming for freeware, or at least a fully-functional demo, since I've got no money let alone a Paypal account or Credit card. Any recommendations for a Mac user running on 10.4.3?

Prices just dropped for Flip4Mac Player. Player is FREE and even available from Microsoft. Player Pro, which converts wmv to mov and/or allows you to play wmv in iMovie is now only $29.
    There is a program
called flip4mac. It will convert .Wmv to .Mov. It
isn't free/share were though. I think it costs around
    30 dollars.
Actually, the Flip4Mac Pro component for QT Pro is
closer to $50. While it does allow both decoding from
and encoding to Windows Media files, the price, in my
opinion, is a bit exorbitant due to the basic lack of
    competition by other software producers.
    It won't convert WMV 9
files - you apparently need Flip4Mac to make iSquint
work on them - but I downloaded the F4M trial version
and iSquint still won't convert WMV9s. I'm not sure
if I want to shell out the cash for F4M if it might
    not do the job.
I believe iSquint (free) is an MPEG based application
(handles muxed and AVI) as well as QT via the QT
Tools package only. On the other hand, applications
like Podner ($10), are designed to exploit standard
QT and some muxed formats, as well as, tap QT Pro and
and QT Pro available components. Thus, the Flip4Mac
Pro component will work in Podner, along with other
components such as the 3ivX and/or Divx.
