DJ130NR Manual roll paper cut command?

I have a five year old dj130nr wide format printer.  Most of the time routine use makes the printer a breeze with excellent result.  However, I could sometimes have used a manual paper cut (for roll feed paper).
Is there a command, either through the computer or on the control panel that will allow a manual cut?
Many thanks,
Ron

A while ago I had similar problems with custom paper sizes in Aperture with a different Epson printer.
No one had the answer, so I can only conclude that Aperture is weak in this area of printing. Hopefully Apple will address this in Aperture 2.

  • What are the settings to print a panorama photo on roll paper?

I have an Epson R2400 using 8.3 inch roll paper. I want to print a panorama photo (cropped) borderless 8.3 in x 36 in. I have done it using Photoshop (export from Aperture), but each combination I use to print in Aperture ends up shrinking the photo to fit on an 8.267 in x 11.692 effective size even though it is roll paper. I have tried A4 roll paper banner, custom paper sizes (8.3 x 36), manual roll paper settings, etc. Each time the photo is "fit" onto the A4 size when sent to the printer. Print Preview shows the result I hope to get (the full photo with no excess white areas), but when printed the actual photo gets shrunk down or cut off on both ends depending on the combination of settings.
Anyone know the combination of settings to make it happen? What's the trick?

  • How do I change the page set up from manual to roll, cannon ipf6400 says paper tray empty it uses roll paper.

Nee help ASAP my IPF6400 printer is telling the paper tray is empty, it uses roll paper. I tried to change the page setup from manual to roll and its no letting me.

Hi, Chaz. I'm not sure what your Print dialog box looks like (it's created by your printer driver, and I use different printers from yours). But the paper size used by my printer is set in the Page Setup dialog box (also created by the printer driver), not in the Print dialog. Try setting your desired paper size in Page Setup and see whether it then stays selected in the Print box.
I don't know of any way to edit the list of paper sizes offered by your printer driver. Contact the printer manufacturer's tech support for advice on that, but don't be too surprised if they can't help you.

  • Set paper size for image on roll paper

Q     I am trying to set the paper size for a H 30cm x W 80cm image using roll paper on an Epson R3000 printer. Computer Dell I7 64b and using Elements 9. Thank-you, John

Garry - Many thanks for the reply. I was following the usual routine but I had never needed to use the 'User defined' box previously but it appears this is vital to the whole process when using roll-paper. I also found that the paper height becomes the Length when using roll-paper. I nearly entered the paper height (as requested) as 10m (length of roll) but you need to enter the length of the actual print required or the print process will start in the middle of the 10m roll! always seems to be that little extra missing from the manuals!  John

  • Where is "cut" command in Mac? Why I cannot cut a file/folder and paste it somewhere else?

I'm a professioinal who made the big step to pass from Windows to Mac. I do not regret it but there're things I cannot understand and i supposed being much easier or "native" in Mac.
Tipical example is the Cut command. I see it in Finder but why doesn't if work? Drag and drop do not copy but works like a ct and paste! I think if for mac this is enough Apple is gonna make it work bacause is a HUGE limit, specially for people like me who manage thousands of photos and cannot risk to drop huge amounts of files in a go or in a wrong folder of such.
Please tell me I'm wrong and there's a way to sort it out!
    Thanks.

You can cut and paste items with Finder, a new feature in Lion, but it doesn't use the command-X "cut" command and is not very intuitive.
Highlight the item(s) to be moved, and type command-C to copy it. Then navigate to the destination window, and rather than pressing command-V (or Edit>Paste item) , instead press Option-command-V (or hold down option when using the Edit menu). This changes "paste" into "move item here", i.e, the item will disappear from where it was copied. The result is equivalent to a "cut and paste."

  • Why export audio to movie command not visible and detect cuts command is not working in 64bit mode?

Does anyone know why export to audio disappear from menu in 64bit mode?
Why detect cuts command is not working well in 64 bit mode?
I tested on several machines (brand-new iMac, brand-new MacPro with 10.8 OS, MacPro with 10.6.8),and everythig wotks in 32 bit mode. As I switch to 64 bit mode detect cuts only put one marker at the begening of film.
I also noticed that Firewire output option in 64bit mode is not avaible.
Is there a certain film format that I have to use to make it work? I tried DV PAL, but I had ther same result.
    Thanks a lot.

  • Cut command in TcL?

    Hi,
I was wondering if there is a cut command in TcL.  I'm trying to accomplish this:
    # set variable
set Name [exec "show run | grep hostname | cut -d" " -f2"]
    # Show Hostname
    puts $Name
    Router_Hostname
    I can do this, but can I cross between IOS.sh & TcL.sh?
    R1#terminal shell
    R1#show run | grep "^hostname" | cut -d" " -f2
    R1

    Hi Cory,
The 1 is an index number to say which item of the list you are requesting.  Lists in Tcl are zero based indexed, so in this example item 0 will be the word "hostname" and item 1 would be the actual hostname of the device.
I guess one key point that may not be totally obvious is that the square brackets are used for command substitution and everything within the brackets are treated as a single command.  Also everything within and including the brackets is substituted with the result of that command.  Because of this substitution, commands can be nested as seen here.  The innter ommands are done first, the results are then substituted into the outter commands.  So in my example the split command is executed on the Name variable the result is substituted into the lindex command.  Then the lindex command is executed and the result is substituted into the set command.

  • Print on ROLL PAPER

    Hi All,
I am trying to build a program that prints receipts, and I am using a printer that uses roll paper (as most receipt printers do).
My problem is that the receipt paper height is not constant...it depinds on the number of items it contains.
How can I print a receipt with a different size each time!
    Please Help,
    Thanks,
    RTGSH

    Just a guess, but...
Probably use Paper class - set whatever size needed for "receipt"
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/api/java/awt/print/Paper.html
    and use PageFormat.setPaper()

  • Panoramic image prints in wrong orientation on roll paper

Trying to print panoramic image on roll paper on Epson Silver 1280 printer. Image displays in correct orientation in print preview box but prints across the roll paper as a cropped portion of the image which is 11" X 43" horizontal format. It's a Photoshop CS image printed on G4 powermac in system 10-3-9. Printer connected to computer via usb cable. Everything else prints fine. Just can't print on roll paper. Any thoughts??

    Also, just did this test:
I used all of my old settings:
    Roll Paper selected
    Ultra Prem. Photo paper luster
    Super 2880 dpi
    no high speed
And then I used the old paper profile for ilford gallerie smooth pearl. (I used this even though I'm currently printing on Ilford Prestige paper.)
And it came out with NO faint grey Border!
Then I tried it with all of those same settings, except I used the older profile for Ilford Gallerie Smooth Pearl for the ROLL paper (IGSPP11Roll_EPP4800_PSPPn.icc)
Then I got the grey border.
And finally just to make sure I wasn't crazy, I tried one more time:
All settings as above except I chose the GPSPP12_EPSpro4800_PSPPn
Which is the profile I downloaded to match the prestige paper.
    And GREY BORDER!
So It seems like using the prestige profile was giving me the wash of grey. And also the roll paper version of the old gallerie smooth pearl also gave me a grey border.
But what should I do now? I want to use the proper paper profile so my colors and tones come out right. I don't feel comfortable just using the wrong paper profile just to stop the border.
On another note, I researched the Highlight Point shift (based on advice I heard from a friend) and that really sounded like what was causing it. However, I am not even seeing that on my printing options. I must be using a different driver or something. When I'm in photoshop, i just select "File - Print" and then go through that normal dialog. Is there some other way to print that gives me many more options?
Thanks to you all for your help so far.

  • Epson R3000 question. My issue is when I print on roll paper which is 13" wide, specifically custom sizes.  Anyone else having an issue?

I can't seem to adjust my image size exactly what I want to print on my 13" roll paper.  As an example, I have a panoramic photo that I wanted printed at 13" x 23" but the best I could custom size the print was 9" x 23".  I didn't get any resolution yellow triangle errors, it just wouldn't let me get to those dimensions I wanted.  I'm pretty new to all this so maybe I am doing something wrong.  I have tried custom sizes, ICC profiles which I think more just for printing and color control.  Any help would be appreciated.
By the way, the Epson R3000 is an awesome wide format printer if anyone was considering it.

I have tried cropping my photos in Aperture to the exact size I would like to print.  I adjsuted paper size through custom dimensions, image size is either set to custom or roll paper.  In the end it always seems to do whatever it wants. So I am wondering, am I asking Aperture and my printer driver to do something it can't do, therefore it restricts me?  I bought this printer so I could print wide format images but they are too narrow.  I don't want a 9" x23" image.  I want a 13" by 27" image.
My other question is, I am shooting with a Nikon D90 12.6MP DSLR in RAW mode.  Yet, when I try to get something to print like 13x24, I get the yellow triangle resolution error in Aperture.  Apparently, the resolution isn't high enough, but it seems weird because my camera is taking inceredibly high resolution photos.

  • R800 printing error on roll paper

    Hi there,
I have an Epson R800 printer.
It worked perfectly fine with my Windows PC.
Then I bought a Mac, hoping everything would work just as fine.
    Not so.
When I try to print on roll paper, although both Preview and Lightroom show the paper of the correct size (custom size selected from page setup, with the right dimensions), when I go in to the print options pane and look at the "summary" tab, it shows A4 as paper format.
And indeed the printer prints just the central part of the picture on the roll as if it were an A4 sheet
This has become very frustrating, not to mention the expense in paper and cartridges...
    Any help, anyone?
    Cheers
    Antonio Soffici

Well, the roll is 10m long, so in theory (and, sadly enough, in Windows XP) I could print a whole roll at once.
Indeed, I have printed (sadly, with a 5-year-old laptop PC running Windows XP SP2) a 2-meter panorama with neither fuss nor hassle.
Now, if neither Apple nor Epson are able to write a decent driver for a photographic printer (on the market for several years, now) under Leopard, well, I found it very, very, very unpleasant.
And I feel deprived of the undeniable right of using my existing peripherals, which, according to Apple's own ads, keep on being compatible with every issue of the new OS.
I hope 10.5.2 brings some improvements on this issue
    Love and peace

  • Printing pano's on roll paper

I am having a problem with printing from Lightroom with roll paper. What I just tried to do was print a pano with a portrait size of 26 X 8 inches. I went through all that I thought was correct including checking the template browser for maximum size, clicking roll paper in page layout as well as user defined as paper size and when in the printing window of Lightroom I made the cell size 26 X 8 (inches) but when I clicked PRINT the warning message came on indicating that the cell size had to be 8 X 14. I could do nothing to let it maintain the cell size that I had put in of 26 X 8. What am I missing here?
    [email protected]

What was the page size of the paper set to in Page Setup? The print driver needs to report to Lightroom what the maximum size it can accept-if it pins at 14" then you didn't have the length needed for the cell size-which LR told you.

When I print in Photoshop CS5 on roll paper, there is a faint grey border that prints all around my image.  I haven't created a grey border in my files.  Does anyone know what setting is creating this or what's going on?  And how i can stop it?

  • Cut command??

Is there a cut command in Mac???? i know there the Copy and Paste (apple+C or Apple+v))!!! i need to know how to cut????

"Cut" does not work on files or folders (I only found this out recently). The reasoning is that it's dangerous because it is essentially a "delete" command except that the data is saved to the "clipboard". When invoked on a folder or file, if something were to happen before the data was "pasted" into it's new location, the data could be lost. Just a different way of thinking I guess....
